Great venue!
Just had a 200 person wedding ceremony and reception at the Corley Mill House and everything went so smoothly and so beautifully!! The venue space was beautiful and well laid out. The owners and day-of-coordinator really made it though, they were so responsive throughout the entire process (and I had a LOT of questions during planning), gave suggestions when I asked and were so on it the day of the wedding! I would HIGHLY recommend this venue for so many reasons! -

Excellent Venue
The owner and staff were the absolute best. They were supportive, friendly, flexible, and did everything in their power to make our wedding day as beautiful as we had ever dreamed. The house and garden is warm, welcoming, and picture perfect. I will recommend them to anyone and everyone. -

Beautiful intimate elopement!
My husband and I decided to elope at the Corley Mill House and Gardens. We had a small ceremony in front of the house mid October. Despite the possibility for rain everything turned out perfectly. Charlie, our wedding coordinator, was such a beautiful soul. She made sure we felt so relaxed and at ease. Best of all she was so flexible with our changing details as my husband is a marine with an ever changing schedule. Everything from the grounds to the southern charm of the house was spectacular! -

Amazing Venue!
My mom had her wedding and reception at The Corley Mill House. The staff/wedding coordinator were excellent! They made her day fun and non-stressful. We had a great experience and I highly recommend this venue. -

Charlie and Sheila both worked very hard to make this wedding exceptional! They wanted everything to the exact detail to be perfect. Everyone loved the food and the outside was just stunning for pictures. Everything couldn’t have gone any smoother ! Thank you both. -

Our Dream Wedding
The most beautiful day ever ! We could have never imagined that our wedding would have been a perfect day. The staff made is stress free. The planning was a breeze. The wedding planners were able to lean on them in the planning and the day of our wedding they made sure we had everything we asked for and more. I would highly recommend this vendor because they go above and beyond to make sure your wedding is what you have always dreamed of. I can’t thank the team enough for how special and wonderful they made us feel!-

Not just for weddings
I had my daughters baby shower at the corley mill house. We had around 32 people and I could not have asked for a more perfect day. It was absolutely wonderful. No setting up no breaking it back down. The food was amazing and the staff wow everyone was so nice. I have NO complaints don’t change a thing. Thanks a bunch and I’m so happy that you are in Lexington. I will use this venue again and again. Oh the photographer I also give 5 stars ur the best. We add a lot of extras so the price wound not of been this amount if we didn’t. -

Southern Charm
My husband and I decided on a brunch wedding in July. Corley Mill House was a pleasure to work with. The food was marvelous and the staff attentive. Guests complimented the brunch menu and loved the charm of the house. Highly recommend Corley Mill House to any bride wanting an all inclusive wedding for ease of planning!-

It was a pleasure working with Shirley and the wedding coordinator at Corley Mill House. Everyone on staff did an amazing job and was beyond sweet. The price was very reasonable and the food was amazing. I highly recommend the Carnitas Taco Station and the cider and mustard based pork tenderloin sauces and slider rolls. We can't thank the staff enough for making our day amazing and we would be happy to recommend this venue to anyone. -

Absolutely the best experience! Gorgeous venue and gardens! Beautiful 100 year old plantation home with a country, quiet setting but seconds away from the new Wingate hotel we stayed in. Jeff & I could not have asked for anything more amazing! They were so helpful all along the way since we booked the venue a year ago. Our guests keep telling us how blown away by how great the food was and the beauty of the surroundings. We have been receiving non stop emails since last week about it! I highly recommend The Corley Mills House to any one and everyone planning any kind of special event or wedding. They are the best!!! -

My husband and I had a stunning winter wedding at Corley Mill House. We had the option to do it in their very large reception room if it was too cold or raining, but we had a nice day and were able to do it outside at the beautiful gazebo. We loved the old southern plantation feel of the venue as did my guests, many of whom were from other states. It has been totally restored and is so beautiful inside and out!! I was so happy with the help I received planning along the way and any time I ever needed any thing or had a question I got an answer back in record time! This was the only vendor out of all the vendors I used that responded to my emails or calls in a timely fashion. The food was excellent!! I had so many guests tell me it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding reception...some said best food ever PERIOD! Several of my guests asked me if they were open as a restaurant during the week so that they could come back and eat more of their delicious food ! We so enjoyed every single second of our time at Corley Mill House. They are the very best at what they do! -

I am so happy that I did my reception at the Corley Mill House! It was a wonderful, memorable place and we had SO many compliments on the beauty and ease of the venue :) My elderly relatives had many quiet places where they could relax after getting worn out from the celebration, and it was easy to fit many people comfortably. We used the inside for gifts and food, and put tables up outside by the gazebo. We also used the covered outdoor porch for dancing and our DJ booth. I couldn't imagine a better place to have spent our evening. It was picturesque and perfect! -

THE MOST FABULOUS DAY EVER!!!!! If I could give Corley Mills House 50 stars I would!!!!!!!!! Every last detail was perfect from beginning to end! We were both very impressed with the "customer service" we received from the moment we toured this venue. out of all the ones we had looked at previously this place definitely had the most southern charm and a gorgeous garden to get married in along with staff that were always willing to help me with whatever I needed. I always got an immediate answer to any questions I had either by email or when I called. They did not take several days or longer like most vendors I worked with to get back to me . Stephanie was awesome and seemed to genuinely care that my wedding day was the way I wanted it to be during our planning sessions not the way she wanted to do it like a lot of vendors are. As my mom says, It's hard to find that kind of "customer service" these days!!! I can't thank them enough for taking all the stress off of me and my mom and sisters! I had many guests call me after we got back from our honeymoon in Australia to tell me how fab the food was and how beautiful everything was and how much they really enjoyed themselves . Jeff and I felt the same !!!! They truly put a lot of effort into every event they do and it was truly appreciated by us! Delicious food ! They packed Jeff and I up food to take with us and it was so scrumptious! Everything in the garden was so lush, beautiful & green. I was able to see a "sneak peek" of a few shots my photog got in the garden & out front of the house & they are absolutely stunning ! I can NEVER thank u enough Corley Mills House for everything you did for us & all your hard work !!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

The Corley Mill House is an excellent venue and I have nothing but good things to say about the people, the food, the atmosphere, the gardens....I could go on and on! Our day was perfect and I could not imagine having gotten married anywhere else. Stephanie worked with me so many hours to make sure every detail was planned to my liking. Their food is top notch. When choosing our menu, I was impressed with the variety of items they offer. Our guests still talk about how good the food was at our reception! The gardens are absolutely beautiful. Our wedding photos turned out great. Our ceremony looked so romantic, just the way I had imagined it. I used one of their in house wedding directors and she was a huge help to me and my mom also. Corley Mill House is definitely the place to get married or have a reception in Lexington! -

We had a beautiful winter wedding outdoors in the garden. It was December but the weather wasn't bad at all. They have a large room indoors where we could have had ceremony but I had my heart set on having it in the gardens. We had temps in the 60s and it was so pretty! The food was so delicious! We had a hard time narrowing down our choices on the menu, it all sounded so good! They do a fabulous job from beginning to end and took care of everything for us. Since we had just moved here about 2 years ago we were not very familiar with wedding vendors and they helped us with picking out our florist, photog and dj. Which took so much stress off of me and I knew I could count on vendors to do a good job. We can not thank them enough for everything!!! And my niece has now booked her reception there for the fall of next year ! -

I had the most amazing wedding day on May 19, 2012. I was so pleased and impressed with Stephanie, who coordinated everything from the linens to the food and also the decor of her absolutely gorgeous southern plantation home. My guest who came from Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Florida, Indiana, and Michigan praised everything about our wedding day. I cant recommend a better place to have your wedding day if you live anywhere near Columbia, South Carolina. They truly made our dreams come true and our guest still talk about it! thank you Corley Mill House and Garden (especially Stephanie) who worked so hard to make it all come together! I cant thank you enough. I am one extremely happy and blessed Bride! :-) -

We had the most beautiful outdoor garden wedding I could ever have dreamed of at The Corley Mill house . The grounds are breathtaking with flowers, koi pond, waterwheel, garden statues, 2 large open air decks, and I could go on and on! It was very important to us to find a beautiful location where we could have an outdoor ceremony but still have a place to do it inside if bad weather. We had a huge amount of out of state guests so we needed a convenient location for our guests close to hotels. There is a new Wingate within walking distance and it was very nice for all of our guests. You get the feel you are in the country at The Corley Mill house but ride down the road a very short distance and there is the interstate so it was perfect for all my guests coming in. It is a very quiet, tranquil and peaceful place and we just adored it! On to the food...could not have been any better! had a hard time deciding on menu since there were so many delicious options! Actually my sister is getting married in July of next year and has already booked her wedding and reception there too! My sister and Mom just couldnt find any place they liked as much as The Corley Mill house! Can't wait to be back there to celebrate my sister's wedding! -

The food was great! Even though it was in the winter we decided to have ceremony outside at the gazebo in the garden since it was almost 65 degrees that day! We were planning on having it inside but lucked up and got good weather. Reception room is very spacious and has beautiful hardwood floors throughout entire house. Loved the way tables, chairs and beautiful silver linens I chose were set up before I arrived leaving us with nothing to do or worry about when we got there. staff is super helpful with helping you find dj and other vendors and anything else I needed. Our guests even told us how wonderful venue and food , etc was after we came back from honeymoon. I can only imagine how beautiful a spring or summer wedding is there in the gardens. We wanted to get married in March, April, May or June but all of their Saturday nites were already gone so we just went with the Saturday that was left in January . Great place and staff though! A must for a garden wedding! -

My husband and I had big plans to have a small wedding ceremony...well, those plans fell through and we were desperately scrambling to find a venue. Corley Mill House was the ONLY wedding venue that even bothered to return my call...and the director (Stephanie) was even kind enough to squeeze us in on a very busy afternoon so that we could take a look around. Our wedding was October 26th, 2014 and it was a phenomenal day. The house and grounds are absolutely gorgeous! I can't wait to get our pictures back from the photographer. And the food...they have a HUGE selection of menus to choose from and reassured me that they always plan for extra guests---no one went hungry at our wedding! The staff even packed to-go plates for us AND packed up the leftovers for us to take on our honeymoon. I would highly recommend Corley Mill House & Garden to anyone for any event at any time of the year. Thank you for helping make our wedding day perfect! -

This place is seriously beautiful! My wedding was in gardens and the reception was in the house. You hardly have to decorate because everything is already so lovely. This place is also extremely convenient because if you choose this venue you also have to use their catering which marks one more thing off your seemingly never ending list! The food was delicious! So good even food snobs couldn't turn up their noses! Plenty of parking, and no you don't have to spend a fortune for a valet service, it's not required. Great place for a wedding. -

Our wedding was held at Corley MIll House on 04/25/15. I knew from the moment I arrived to tour the house, that was where our wedding would be held. The gazebo (where our ceremony was held) and the house (for the reception) were a perfect fit for my husband and I. It is a beautiful location and staff were so helpful and pleasant to work with. The food for our reception was excellent! We got so many compliments from our guests about the menu we chose. I highly recommend using an on-site wedding coordinator--she was a God send! Thank you to Corley Mill House for making our wedding day the wedding of our dreams. -

We held the rehearsal dinner for my son's wedding here this weekend. Stephanie was very helpful and had no problem with me coming by to look at the house more than once for decorating ideas, etc. She gave me many good suggestions based on what other guests had done - all of which were very helpful. Stephanie worked with us in making arrangements to have all of the decorations dropped off ahead of time and even put out all of our flower arrangements and assisted in lighting the candles. The house was lovely, the grounds were immaculate, and the food was delicious (great barbecue and potato salad).
As with any venue, read the contract (this is in regard to the first review for Corley Mill House) and ask questions. There are many fees but they are not hidden. I would recommend this venue to anyone - excellent! -

Beatiful venue, frustrating planning
I truly loved and enjoyed my wedding at Corley Mill; it's a gorgeous setting, we got a wonderful value for what we wanted, and it was everything we had dreamed of. It's beautiful!
However, communication and professionalism were a nightmare. I could write a book here (and I have in my first draft), but it boils down to this:
- The owner answered emails addressed to the caterer (to his specific email), answered them incorrectly/ineffectively, and then became snarky when I asked for more information/direct caterer contact
- Our deposit turned into a security hold one week before the wedding with no warning. Owner stated "but no one reads the fine print do they." I read the fine print. It was described as "non-refundable," no mention of a mailed refund that wouldn't be until the week after. My mom had to call them during my honeymoon to remind them to mail it back.
- I had to watch the weather in case it rained throughout the week before, and I was told three different times that I would have to give the final call over the course of the day before my wedding each time they talked to me about it.
In the end, I truly would recommend this to a friend - our photos are gorgeous, the ceremony was perfect, and we had a blast all night long. Our coordinator was super sweet and helpful, and I don't believe I would have picked another place even if I had known in advance what a headache some of it would be. But my recommendation will always come with a grain of salt to be prepared to struggle in the weeks and months leading up to it, because most days dealing with them were an absolute nightmare of a headache. -

Great Venue, horrible in house catering
Our daughter and her fiancé chose the Corley Mill House in October of 2021 for a December 10, 2022 wedding. The venue itself is beautiful. The owner, John Banks has done numerous upgrades including a large deck off the back of the ballroom, and beautiful bridal suite which is excellent for getting ready the day of your wedding. I cannot say enough good things about the venue itself.
Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience with their in house catering, Scott Hall. We had used Scott before for our other daughters wedding in 2021 at a different venue. We didn’t experience any problems and felt confident using him again at the Corley Mill House, especially since this is the venue and kitchen he has worked out of for years. We met with Scott a week before the wedding and decided to pay almost $1,900 more on top of what we were already paying to “upgrade” to a higher package as we thought at the time we had close to 100 guests, most flying or driving in from out of state and wanted to have great food and service for them. That is not what we received. What we did get was approximately 3 servers who we barely saw during the wedding. We paid for food for 100 guests, we ended up with about 83, The food presented was not for 100 guests, it was barely enough for 70. The passed hors d’oeuvres never made it out to the guests, only the bridal party. The carving “station” had no one attending it and the brisket which Scott recommended for this station ended up being ice cold brisket sandwiches on a deli tray that clearly had been in the cooler for hours, if not days. The shrimp and grits “action” station had one person manning it, who then disappeared and left 2 tablespoons in the food for people to help themselves, not serving spoons, tablespoons. The sternos on the “action” station were never lit, so that food was cold as well. The meatballs Scott recommended to us were also ice cold and basically inedible. Most if not all food presented was cold, spring rolls, ice cold. Chicken, ice cold. Unfortunately, we had several guests come and tell us this, as my husband and I had not even eaten as we were busy talking to our guests. Upon learning the food was cold, my husband went to find Scott to ask him to come out to the buffet and see if we could fix this extremely embarrassing situation. My husband was understandably upset. Scott refused to come out of the kitchen and slammed the door in my husbands face. I tried to go and speak to him, but at this point, locked the doors and refused to come out. In desperation I tried to talk to Sheila Hall about getting the food heated up and got nowhere. What I did get from Sheila was her getting our contract and her trying to tell me we were wrong to be upset. It was a terrible situation to be in as the host of this wedding and I would not wish it on anyone.
You have an option at Corley Mill to bring in a different caterer. They charge a fee, but believe me it will be worth it not to deal with Scott Hall. Almost a week after my daughters wedding, I did hear from Scott finally accepting responsibility for the awful position he put me and my husband in and we did receive a full refund. While I appreciate that, really all we wanted was good food and good service at our daughters wedding. It was what we expected after paying for it. By the time his apology came, it was too late, I wish he would helped us during the actual situation itself. The moral of this long story is this, save yourself some grief and do not use Scott Hall. -

6-15-19 wedding
I want to be very honest about my experience with the Corley Mill House. I got married on
6-15-19. I chose this venue because of the inclusiveness of it all and me living out of town. I would not personally recommend this venue after my experience. It comes down to five factors that were the MOST important for me.
1) Communication- Mrs. Sheila was for the most part very good at responding back to my emails very quickly! However, on the pricing sheet it stated, "Many other items for use". I asked several times in January and February for the list of items. She said it would be finished by the end of February but I never received it. If you promote something- have the document to back it up.
2) Food- I was the MOST disappointed with the food and a little embarrassed. I chose an option for a beef brisket carving station which on the menu explicitly states, "carved in front of guests". There was no carving and the small sliders were already put together. I also chose a mac and cheese action chef station in which the menu also states" many toppings to choose from such as pulled pork, bacon, mushrooms, ,etc". There were NO toppings but bacon for the mac and cheese. The beaufort stew skewers were COLD and did not seem very fresh. The problem is that you have to use their own catering (probably due to the fact that the owner of Scott Hall Catering is also owner of Corley House). I would not recommend the food at all! The bartender made my pineapple, rum, and strawberry drinks all wrong. I sent a very specific email stating how these should be made. Instead the ingredients were dumped in a pitcher and served from there. Those drinks were to be made when ordered and SHAKEN! I feel that goes without explaining. A bartender should have known that.
3) Friendliness- The catering staff that day were very sweet and very young. However, the bartender had a less than pleasant demeanor and not very friendly. I was very disappointed. I do not feel I had any issues with Sheila or day-of coordinator Nancy as far as friendliness was concerned. Mrs. Sheila was always able to make time to meet me when I wanted to set a quick meeting.
4) Ease of the day- I will say that it was a HUGE relief and help to have Nancy directing the rehearsal and the day of the wedding. It is also a huge help because they do help with clean up and getting things to your car. This is a major plus! I rented and paid for 7 hours. 4:30 to 11:30! I did end up cutting the wedding short because many guests had already left and I was feeling tired. I ended and left around 10 or 10:15. I was very disheartened to hear that my family that stayed behind to gather my personal belongings felt rushed to get out of the house. This should NOT have happened as I paid for the event to go to 11:30! They had plenty of time to gather my things without feeling rushed. I also paid $20 in cash that same day for the bar to stay open half an hour later (which I didn't end up needing), but never saw my money back nor was it offered.
5) Cleanliness- I personally think the house could use some cleaning. Sometimes I would visit and the mirrors and lanterns often looked like they had not been shined in a while. On the day of my wedding, the card and gift table linen had several crumbs of some sort on which I had to brush off and a small stain. I offered a candy buffet station and noticed the candy dishes were not very clean. I emailed Ms. Sheila to have these cleaned prior to the wedding but got no response. The very next day my candy was in the dishes and I have no idea whether they were washed or not.
Positives of the venue- GREAT space and BEAUTIFUL grounds, help with logistics from Nancy, they set things up for you (although they used the wrong candles in the lanterns).
Needs Improvement- FRIENDLINESS from bartender, cleanliness, quality of food and providing what is offered on the menu, taking the time to understand exactly how I wanted things set up, and making my family feel rushed to gather my belongings even though they were still on paid time. -

We were not pleased with Corley Mill House. They want to charge for every thing. The food was not that great, plus it was not enough. My guest were not pleased. They ask you for a $400 deposit that you are supposed to get back at the end, well... they will find reasons not to give it back to you. Invalid reasons. They will tell you you had more people than you paid for, they will tell you that guest came in earlier that the time you started paying for, etc. I do not recomend this place for your wedding. You can get much more for the money elsewhere -

First of all I would like to say that the wedding turned out beautifully. From a guest standpoint, we have heard nothing but about how wonderful everything turned out. I will say if you are planning to use the Corley Mill House beware of HIDDEN COSTS. When I originally asked about pricing, I was told that the total wedding would cost about $2,000 less than what the actual ceremony ended up costing in the end. This is even after selecting their cheapest menu and we had the least number of guests allowed. They charge extra for EVERYTHING.
The level of professionalism is somewhat lacking. They charged almost $500 for a bartender (we provided the alcohol). The paid bartender is actually a family member of the people who run the business. Then, after charging this much, she put out a tip jar for my guests. I thought this was very unprofessional considering all she did was pour wine and hand out beers and my already generous guests should not have felt obligated to pay anything for their drinks. We had already paid her $500 for 3 hours of service.
As I said earlier, the wedding did turn out beautifully, but beware that you will pay much more than you may have been originally told. -

unprofessional and terrible experience! Had my wedding there last year. It was utterly a disappointment. My husband and I had to apologized to so many of guests, including family members after our wedding. They had a tip jar out for my wedding. Paid over $400 for a professional bartender, the daughter was my bartender. Not enough staffs to serve my guests. Food was not enough, my guests left very upset. The only thing nice about this place is their garden, other than that everything else is very unprofessional. Please beware, do your research, there were so many hidden costs. There are so many other wonderful places out there to have your wedding, and you'll not be ripped off or robbed of the most important day of you life. -

WORST VENUE EVER! Very misleading in preliminary meetings. LOTS of hidden fees. "Beef tenderloin served with artisan bread" equates to tiny slivers of meat on a roll...I was NOT aware the main food at my wedding was going to be a sandwich. The rest of it wasn't any better. The director was rude and without humor, doing things the way SHE wanted without any regard to what I had asked for. When the security deposit check came back in the mail, they had taken out extra meals, even though we actually had less guests than the number we gave them. I enjoyed my wedding DESPITE the people at Corley Mill House. -
