Delicious and beautiful cake

Amphora was recommended to us by a previous couple so we bought a cake sample platter which was a fun and convenient way to sample a variety of flavor options. There were also lots of cake style designs, so we booked with Amphora. Elicia made the process super easy and was flexible when it came to changing our size, etc. The team delivered and set up the cake without a hitch and it looked gorgeous. The cake tasted amazing and we got lots of compliments on it! We didnt even wait to eat our anniversary layer because it was so good :p

Elicia's wedding cake was stunning and so tasty!

Elicia did a fabulous job on our wedding cake and I highly recommend using her for your special day. She was so easy to work with, she customized our cake exactly how we wanted it, and it tasted sooo good! I highly recommend you hire her for your wedding!

Amphora was the Right Choice

We were very pleased with Amphora - from initial conversations, to tastings, to prep meeting to the event - everything ran perfectly smooth and the food was really delicious! Our guests even commented how good the food was. This review would not be complete without acknowledging Xóchitl. I saw her name in other Amphora reviews but thought - yeah, yeah, whatever, I’m sure she’s not that good. Now I see why. She’s not just a well-organized caterer, she’s patient, responsive, accommodating, thorough and calm - throughout the whole process. Everything went perfectly the day of!

Beautiful and Delicious Wedding Cake Inspired by my daughter's design

Amphora Bakery did a fantastic job on our wedding cake! We selected one of their preferred designs and modified it slightly to reflect the wedding cake my 8 year old daughter designed. They did a fantastic job! The red velvet cake with cream cheese icing was decadent and not too sweet. We and our guests truly enjoyed it. I will be returning to Amphora for many special occasions in the future.

Amphora exceeded my wildest fantasies!

The cake was BEYOND beautiful. And HOW did Amphora manage to find cake plates for us that were a perfect match?!?! Their attention to detail was just phenomenal. I refuse to believe they weren’t secretly communicating with our florist Wander and Whimsy because the color coordination was just out of this world!!! Some of my ideas were out of my budget, but they worked with me to find the perfect cake stand, which achieved the 3 tier cake look I wanted, but with the two tiers that were in budget. They were in constant communication with me and gave their honest advice. Not only was the cake beautiful, but it tasted delicious.

Thank you so much, Amphora, for making our dreams come true!!!

Wonderful bakery to work with

I selected Amphora Bakery to make our wedding cake because I'm a past customer! I ordered a birthday cake from them years ago for my husband and was so impressed how delicious the cake was. Elicia has been so wonderful in working with my husband and I the past few years. We booked this bakery back in 2019 for our 2020 wedding and they've been extremely patient with us each time we've had to reschedule - thanks to the pandemic. It was a rough time with wedding planning, but Elicia was very supportive, responsive, and easy to work with. After many reschedules, our guest count reduced more and more and she allowed us to reduce our cake size and servings. I was shocked when she offered to make changes because I wanted to ask months ago, but was afraid it was too late! My husband and I were so thankful how understanding Elicia and the Amphora Bakery team were. The cake was beautiful, exactly what I had wanted in design, and the salted caramel flavor was delicious! We recommend this bakery to any other couple. If you need catering also, they can handle that for you too. We also booked them for both the wedding cake and catering!

Amphora knows how to make a great cake!

Every cake flavor we tried from Amphora was delicious! Elicia was very easy to work with and listened to our ideas. When we had to severely reduce our guest count due to COVID after ordering our cake, they helped us with to-go boxes so we could take cake slices to the local guests who couldn’t come to the reception. Our cake was so beautiful and tasted incredible!

Such a good cake!!

We didn’t even look at another bakery for our wedding cake because we love Amphora, and that was the right call! We got a small cake to cut and a large sheet cake with the vanilla cake with vanilla frosting and forest berry preserves, topped with blue sugar hydrangea petals. It was a hit! We loved it and got so many compliments from our guests! We highly recommend.

Beautiful Cake

Amphora Bakery was so amazing to work with. Elicia and her team did an amazing job taking our ideas about what we wanted the cake to look like and turned it into a beautiful masterpiece. From the start, she was so nice and was able to work around our schedule and even kept in contact throughout COVID-19 to give us updates on what was going on. They delivered our cake to the venue in prestine condition and set it in place on where we wanted it. We had a three tier cake for about 70 guests. We had one layer vanilla cake with Amaretto buttercream, vanilla cake with forest berry preserves, and chocolate with chocolate buttercream. Each layer was delicious, moist, and just melted in your mouth. We even had one guest who tried the cake and wanted to order one for her daughters birthday. Everyone loved it! We felt very confident in their hands and we are so happy that we chose Amphora Bakery to do our wedding cake!

Perfect Service

The Amphora did an amazing job with our cake. Elicia was incredible helpful throughout the process. The cake tasting was fun and easy. When it was time to come up with a design the Amphora wanted to make sure they got the design perfectly and double checked with us. When COVID hit they were incredibly accommodating and made the transition to our new date seamlessly. The few weeks leading up to wedding Elicia was on top of everything to make sure everything was correct. When we saw our cake it was everything we wanted. Everyone raved about the design!! And it tasted GREAT!! We are so happy with everything. Thank you Amphora!!!

Outstanding

Amphora did an amazing job with all three of our cakes. The grooms cake was in the shape of a Cohiba cigar box and everyone raves about it. I can’t eat sugar or starches like regular flour so they worked me to decorate a small cake I provided to match the main cake using sugar free icing so I was able to enjoy my cake too. The delivery was prompt and everyone asked where ordered the cakes And every plate was cleaned completely! I will definitely order from them again

Delicious and beautiful

My family has been getting birthday cakes from Amphora for many years and their wedding cake did not disappoint. The flavor was incredible and the cake was very moist. The buttercream was so perfect it looked like fondant.

September 1st 2019 Wedding

Elicia with Amphora Bakery was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was patient with us as we took time to decide on a cake and dessert table. Elicia is extremely responsive to emails and professional. The cakes and desserts are so good at Amphora Bakery we had a tough time deciding. In fact, they are so good we not only order a wedding cake and 300 cupcakes but they also made the grooms cake and my parents wedding anniversary cake. Great Cake!

We were very happy with our 3-tiered wedding cake! We went into the Bakery a few months prior for a tasting and chose the exact cake we wanted. The wedding assistant was very helpful in explaining our options to us and coordinating the order. The cake was both beautiful AND delicious!

Amazing and delicious

We worked with Maria over at Amphora Bakery and she was amazing! She was very patient and professional when trying to design my wedding cake. She had very creative ideas and I was so happy with the final product. The cake tasting was the hardest part....they were all amazing!!!!

I'm attaching a picture of our wedding cake, which was absolutely perfect! A lot of people came up to me and said that most wedding cakes they've had have not been very tasty, but our cake was not only beautiful but absolutely delicious! The design and texture and taste were simply phenomenal. Their customer service is fabulous and responses to my emails and phone calls were quick! Our wedding cake from Amphora was amazing! We were able to do an extensive (and free) sampling of their cakes before selecting. It was so helpful for us in making a decision, although all of the samples were amazing. We decided to do a different type of cake filing on the top and bottom layer of the cake. We worked with Katie and she was absolutely wonderful. We plan on getting cakes there for future birthdays and other occasions. The cake was a huge success at the wedding as well.

Fantastic cakes and service! We ordered the vanilla/mocha cake and it was absolutely delicious and stunningly beautiful! The skill and quality of the cake decorations was truly phenomenal. The tasting was complimentary and blew us away. So many flavors to taste while looking at their amazing talent in their shop at the Herndon location. I was beyond pleased with both the wedding cake and the grooms cake!! Both Maria Cholakis and Katie Metzbower were so wonderful and easy to work with from the cake tasting until right up wedding day. I was very back and forth when it came to the amount of additional sheet cake I wanted as well as the final design for the grooms cake and they were always so accommodating and flexible with my requests to make sure I was completely happy with the final result...which I was! Our wedding cake was STUNNING and tasted amazing and grooms cake was exactly how I wanted it to be for my husband and he loved it! Thank you, Amphora - we are excited to work with them again in the future!

Bar none this is the only place to purchase your wedding cake! The cakes taste as good as they look! They were very easy to work with and were not over expensive.

We worked with Maria on ordering a small custom cake for the cake cutting/ serving to immediate family at our wedding. We also ordered an array of desserts for a dessert bar, including floral cupcakes, mini tarts and pies, cookies and brownies. We originally planned to order the desserts through our caterer, but when we realized the huge variety and affordability of ordering directly from the bakery we changed our minds quickly! Our wedding cake turned out wonderfully; it tasted absolutely delicious, was the perfect size and we received lots of compliments on the design. We were hoping to have some leftover desserts after the wedding, but there was nothing to be found! I think this speaks to the quality of the desserts that Amphora provides- everyone scooped them right up! The tasting, order/ payment and delivery were all seamless. We plan on ordering small cakes and desserts for future anniversaries; we were extremely happy with the price and exemplary customer service that was provided to us for our wedding and we highly recommend Amphora Bakery to anyone!

I found Amphora Bakery at a bridal expo. I was walking around tasting all of the bakeries' cake samples, and I wasn't entirely impressed with any of them. I passed Amphora as one of the last booths of the day, and my friend said, "oh look, let's try a piece of that cake, too." I was so tired of cake at that moment that I almost didn't have a sample, but BOY AM I GLAD THAT I DID! Even the sample was the most delicious cake I've ever eaten in my life. I immediately went home and emailed for an official tasting with my fiance. Maria was so professional throughout our tasting, which only further solidified that the cakes from Amphora are THE BEST! After we tasted and decided on a flavor, she took plenty of time to review my vision for the wedding and helped us customize one of their former designs into a cake that was perfect for our theme, size of our guest list, and budget. She was a pleasure to work worth during all of the planning, and the cake on our wedding day was just as delicious as the both tastings! I must have sampled cake from 15 bakeries at that expo, and I knew that Amphora had to be our baker the second I tasted their cake. I highly recommend their services!

For our wedding we wanted something simple, meaningful, tasty, and affordable. Amphora bakery hit all those points! We knew we wanted a German Chocolate cake (a family favorite) and a plain vanilla (to accommodate non chocolate lovers). Amphora's website was easy to navigate which showed prices and sizes. I was able to order both cakes via email and there were no hiccups or miscommunication. The cakes were delivered and delicious, just as we expected. Since we just did 1/2 sheet for each cake it was also very affordable for the 92 guests we had. We got a lot of compliments on the cake!

Amphora did a wonderful job with our wedding cake - which was a bit unusual. We ordered a traditional wedding cake and also a tower of mini pies. Both were beautiful and delicious. Everyone loved them and commented on how good they were. Amphora was wonderful during our tasting - welcoming our small children to join in. They accommodated every request without hesitation - even some last minute changes. I highly recommend them.

Our wedding cake was delicious! The bakery was easy to work with and provided a free tasting. We chose a vanilla lemon buttercream cake, 2 tiers, with a simple mint green fondant ribbon. It was delivered on time and it was beautiful!! The bakery also provided items for the "All American Dessert Bar" (we used Amphora Catering for our dinner as well). Everything from cookies and brownies to chocolate dipped rice krispies and personal pies. SO GOOD!!

Amphora Bakery was so nice! Wonderful experience! We met with Janet whom said that she has been in the wedding industry for 25+ years which reassured my fiance and I that she knew what she was doing. She offered us water, tea and even soda. So nice of her. We had a large and spacious table to look at all the albums and they have cakes surrounding you which helped out because you could visualize how big your cake would be. Janet brought out more than 12 flavors for us to try. She was very knowledgeable of every flavor and manually placed the filling in the middle of two cake pieces so we would taste it. She did this with every piece. It was so nice of her to take the time to share with all of us (my fiance's parents and my mom) all the flavors we wanted to try. I was confident that my cake would turn out perfect. The exact cake that I wanted was on display too! I couldn't believe it! It looked gorgeous! I would definitely recommend Janet and her team at Amphora Bakery! And I will be getting my cake from them. She reassured me that I could make any changes I wanted and that she is always there to help with anything. 5 Stars does not give her enough credit!

I worked with Kay Snyder, who was so sweet and SO responsive. I would get emails from her well past working hours, and they worked with us on a complete custom design for a VERY reasonable price.
We set up a cake tasting and I pretty much decided on the spot I wanted to go with them. We also orderd 14 dozen Macarons from them as favors since we got engaged in Paris. I can't recommend them enough

My fiancé and I were set on having our favorite cupcakes from a local shop as our dessert, but still wanted a cake in place to cut and display. Ericka Ford was an amazing person to work with, and very helpful and sweet (no pun intended!) throughout the entire process. We had a fantastic cake tasting at the Herndon location, and were able to pinpoint the cake flavor and intended design in that same afternoon. Ericka made it easy to order and make a few changes to the cake before finalizing. We had a perfectly sized and delicious tasting cake to cut on our special day and keep in the freezer for our first anniversary. The staff cares about you and how things work out, and I would highly recommend Amphora for your dessert needs!

Amphora created both a wedding and a groom's cake for our wedding. The wedding cake was exactly as we had wanted, but the groom's cake was star of the show...They created an adorable "19th hole" cake (my husband is a golfer).

Amphora did an excellent job on our wedding cake. From the tasting experience to many changes over the phone and e-mail we were very pleased with their responsiveness and willingness to make changes after placing our original order. There staff had many changes over the course of the few months we had booked them until our wedding, but each person we worked with was great. The cake was moist and delicious! Amphora created a delicious flourless chocolate grooms cake for our wedding, and the most creative Halloween themed cake pops for the desert. We went to the bakery knowing we wanted decorated cake pops, and they had just finished the designs for their fall offering. We loved the creativity and humor in the designs, and decided to use them for our wedding. They were delicious too!

The tasting was so much fun and she really listened to our goals and then helped us to execute a plan that was within our budget and what we were looking for. Amphora Bakery was the first and only bakery we had a tasting at. We had met with Brittany, who unfortunately is no longer with the company, but she was great! I had found a picture of a cake I liked online and nothing else I had seen really compared. Once we picked all of our options, she asked for me to bring in the picture and color sample since I was pretty specific about what I wanted. Day of our wedding and our cake was beautiful! I received so many compliments not only how it looked but how it tasted. The red velvet is to die for! The whole experience with Amphora Bakery was great, we are very pleased!

Amphora Bakery made the cake for our wedding and it was absolutely delicious! The wedding cake coordinator Erika was extremely personable and professional. We had to order the cake sort of last minute because our original cake vendor fell through; but we're lucky to have stumbled upon Amphora Bakery and should have chosen them to make our cake from the start!! We met with Erika for our cake tasting and it was so tough, because every flavor was so delicious!! Even the flavors that I don't usually prefer were amazing. They also had so many options of styles of cakes, but Erika made it so that every decision we had to make seem effortless. She worked with our budget and helped us to choose the perfect wedding cake! We are so grateful that Amphora Bakery saved the day and made us a fabulous cake; not to mention the prices are affordable and their cakes are beautiful AND delicious :)

Amphora Bakery is one of the best bakeries in DC area in my opinion. We worked with Brittany and she helped us to design our cake. Our cake was delivered on time. It was stunning and different and came out better than we could have dreamed. It tasted way better than the cake we tried at the tasting and It was delicious and everyone enjoyed the cake!

Prior to the wedding, all the communications were answered promptly. Amphora is super easy to work with and very professional. We highly recommend them!

This bakery is amazing!! They made my wedding cake, as well as the grooms cake for my rehearsal dinner! Both cakes came out looking amazing!!!!!! I was beyond thrilled with the results. The cake staff is so knowledgeable and was able to design my wedding cake to perfection only off of a couple pictures and ideas I had. I continue to use Amphora for other events where cakes and baked items are needed! I always recommend them to friends! To top off how amazing the cakes look, they also taste fabulous!!

The cake was as beautiful as it was delicious. It met my expectations. Amphora had no problem delivering it even though we were married 2 hours away from the bakery. They were also flexible in that a couple of weeks before the wedding we asked to reduce the size of the cake; they were professional and refunded us the difference in cost. Brittany worked with us and when we realized that we were going to have less guests than we originally paid for, Brittany helped us adjust the guest number and refunded to us without any problem. The cake arrived on time, looked more beautiful than we expected (since we chose a basic style with the minimum decoration to save money) and was tasty.

We visited Amphora Bakery for our wedding cake tasting and it was a wonderful experience. The Herndon bakery is so neat and you can actually see the chefs baking and decorating since the kitchen is exposed with a glass wall. It was so interesting to see that. We set down and looked at some pictures of past wedding cakes and also tasted a large variety of cake flavors and icings. We chose a yellow cake with raspberry filling and butter cream frosting. There was a very intricate piping design that went down all three tiers in dark gray (one of our wedding colors). The cake was beautiful and tasted even better than the initial tasting. Amphora delivered our cake to the Hyatt Fair Lakes hotel in Fairfax and everything was ready for us - the hotel and bakery coordinated everything and didn't even need us (which was great). Amphora is very creative in their cake designs. My coworkers always order specialty cakes for birthdays and holidays, and now my husband and I go to the bakery for coffee and snacks. It's a great place to order something large or small! I promise you will not be disappointed if you order from them.

Our wedding cake was beautiful! I've been to enough weddings to know that wedding cakes are very pretty to look at but usually do not taste very good. In contrast, people came up to us at the reception just to tell us how delicious our cake was. It was such a success! Even the leftover cake I brought home was delicious days after the wedding. HOLY COW! I knew they had some good desserts at their Diners. I knew their catering was wonderful because my clients would tell me regularly... BUT WHEN I TELL YOU THE CAKE... OH MY GOODNESS!

First of all the bakery in Herndon, VA is wonderful and you feel like you are part of a show! It was just amazing! They even have it set up so that you can see the Chef's making the cakes... soooo fun! I can't wait to have a party there (they have a space upstairs to watch them baking) Then there is Maria Cholakis.... she was so sweet and took care of us like family!

I literally had no idea what I needed to look for or what kind of cake I wanted! Not only was the cake amazingly wonderful and good... but it was GORGEOUS! I literally had my guests taking several pieces to their room because it was soooo good they wanted more :)

I just have one last thing to say... YOU WON'T REGRET IT! (I even ordered cakes for the office now... they are our bakers for life :) )

I worked with Amphora Bakery for my Rehearsal Dinner Grooms Cake. They made a beautiful cake that had my Groom's favorite things, Redskins helmet and our chocolate lab, Charlie. It was a surprise to him and he was really blown away. They were very professional and helped me take my vision into a cake that we will remember always. My husband and I opted for an untraditional wedding dessert. We chose several of their cakes (8 or so) and had them as part of our dessert buffet. We also chose 3 mini pies to use. What a hit! We have gotten so many compliments on the cakes and pies. The mini pies are so cute and bite size for kids or people who want a small dessert. When I came to Amphora with this idea, they had no problem executing it and made sure that everything was just the way I wanted. They responded very timely to email and were on time for delivery on the wedding day.

I normally purchase cakes form Amphora for birthdays and special occassions. So when it came time for my husband and I to re-new our vows, returning to Amphora for our wedding cake was a no brainer. Their cakes are always full of flavor and stay moist for up to a week. Not to mention that the design of our cake was absolutely fabulous. If you live in the DMV, and want a great cake at a great price, call Amphora. Better yet drive over to the bakery and try and sample. It is worth the drive and you won't be disappointed.

Simply amazing. The cake was very delicious and the decorations were exactly what we had asked for. They exceeded our expectations in the cake decorations. We planned our entire wedding all the way in Texas (wedding in Virginia) and Carrie was very responsive in replying to our emails and inquiries.

Everyone loved our cake and was amazed at the totally different style we chose. We had two smaller cakes side by side and an arched bridge going between them with the cake toppers sitting on the bridge. Amphora did not supply or create the cake toppers but the cakes they designed worked perfectly with what we had imagined and communicated to them. The only disappointment was that we couldn't bring any of the cake back with us to Texas because everyone ate it.

I called the week of my wedding and ordered a cake. They had it ready on the day I wanted and it was exactly what I wanted! The people there are so talented. The cake was absolutely delicious (as always) and we were not disappointed! We ate the entire cake within 3 days. I would highly recommend ordering your wedding cake from Amphora--I wish they were in SC so when I have our reception they could make the cake!

Amphora Bakery did a wonderful job providing our wedding cake.

From the moment I walked into Amphora Bakery I was pleased with their professionalism and helpfulness with the whole service. They sat with me during the cake testing and went over all my questions and the process with such patience and thoroughness. All the cakes I tasted were delicious, and their choice of various designs were absolutely beautiful.
Amphora delivered my cake without any problems, and it looked perfect! Not to mention, many of my wedding guests mentioned afterwards how delicious it was!

Amphora Bakery will always be mine and my husband's choice for baked goods. I went to a local bridal expo as most brides to be do. And every cake vendor I passed had the most beautiful cakes (and the most outrageous prices), but they were simply gorgeous to look at. After seeing the artwork and inquiring about prices, I tried samples and was less than thrilled. As I experienced my fourth or fifth "bad tasting" cake, I began to question if there would even be a cake at our wedding. I turned to my friend and said, "I just want a cake that represents us, but most of all a cake that tastes like cake." We finally headed down to the lower level of the venue to finish visiting vendors, when I came across two or three more cake vendors. I groaned, one of my favorite desserts and one of the pieces I was looking most forward to for the wedding had been ruined. But, a sucker for Red Velvet cake, I saw a vendor, Amphora Bakery, carrying it on display for samples. The samples looked simple and as cake should look, in which you will actually enjoy eating it; so against my stomach's better judgement, I tried a piece of Amphora Bakery's Red Velvet cake and I was in heaven. This cake just melted in my mouth. It was just the appropriate amount of richness. Surely, I had to try another sample to be sure I wasn't being fooled. I tried the Vanilla/Vanilla and it was just as good. Again, not too rich and the cake was incredibly moist. I spoke with a representative from Amphora and she discussed the more elaborate the design on the cake, the more fondant had to be used which could cause the cake not tasting like cake. She told me it would be completely possible to work in a design to my liking and limit the amount of fondant. I took pieces home to my soon to be husband. He wasn't able to sample what I'd taken home until the next day and he knew Amphora was the one for our cake. He said even a day later, the cake was still moist and delicious. Still slightly skeptical, I scheduled a cake tasting at Amphora. First of all the shop is easy to get to you and quaint. Everyone at the shop was completely professional and polite. Our cake coordinator was so helpful and took her time with us even though other couples were lingering around with their questions. I think we must have gotten about 12 pieces each to sample and they were huge for samples. From these samples we knew what flavors we were going to have for our cake. Amphora was able to create a tiered cake for us to accomodate the different flavors and they were able to keep the entire cake butter cream. We ordered a cake for 150 people and the money per slice was well below what I was expecting despite it was just butter cream frosting. My friend had gotten married 10 years ago and I remember her telling me what she paid per slice of her cake and I think our pricing was 25-50 cents more...maybe. Surely not what I was expecting for a service 10 years from a last known price. Amphora was so helpful. They had not delivered to our venue before, but they assured me it wouldn't be an issue and the trip was fairly long with a very modest delivery fee. All of my emails were answered immediately and usually followed up with a phone call to ensure correct informational translation. Mid week before the wedding, Amphora called me and asked about delivery time for our wedding day and I stammered...I had no clue. They dealt directly with our wedding venue and handled everything from there and I didn't have to think of details of details so close to the wedding. They delivered the cake right on time (a little early) actually and it was so incredibly gorgeous and protrayed us. I'm not sure what I was expecting, because we had picked the design out of a book (and that design had been a little loud). Even though we changed colors, etc, I still didn't have a clue until I saw it. It wasn't over decorated, too busy at all and the coloring was PERFECT. I almost didn't want to cut into the cake, but considering for the three days prior to the wedding, the cake was all my husband could talk about so there was no sparing the cutting of the cake. We ordered enough to serve 150 people and ended up only having 75 people at the wedding and, (our top tier was saved immediately), there was very little left to bring home. Not only did our guests love it as much as we did, but they're still talking about it as much as we are. Everyone at Amphora is a pleasure to deal with and they have certainly earned at least two loyal customers for life. I will continue to recommend them for wedding cakes and simple, "let's go get a delicious bakery treat". Thanks Amphora for being a such a successful piece to our wedding picture!

Again, we were not disappointed in our cake vendor either! We not only ordered our wedding cake from them, we also ordered my parents 50th wedding anniversary cake too! We enjoyed going to the tasting and had a great time choosing our cake flavors and designing it with our contact there as well. Both cakes turned our beautifully!

The cake was amazing - exactly what we hoped for. The tasting was fun and staff was very helpful to explain the different choices available. Cake was delicious. It was fun to have different flavors for the different tiers. I would highly recommend Amphora!

We worked with Nadia Patnode at Amphora Bakery for our wedding cake and everything was wonderful. From our initial consultation meeting where she walked us through the process as well as her patience during our decision making process, things went very smoothly. Even when I decided to change the design of the cake a week before, Amphora Bakery handled it with grace.

Additionally, what I appreciated most was the consultative approach from Nadia. She listened to my requests and would provide suggestions to improve upon the final product. I loved the fact that we even got a call about the color of the fondant for the base of the cake a couple of days before because the staff felt a different color would make the cake look prettier.

Finally, the cake tasted wonderful! Even better than in our tastings. Many people have told me that I wouldn't remember much from our wedding even suggesting that I wouldn't remember the cake, but thanks to the service we received from Amphora Bakery, we will remember the cake.

Amphora bakery has done a magnifcent job on our wedding cake. The design was beyond what we wanted, and was absolutely goregous. The cake also tasted wonderfully. We would recommend Amphora to any newly engaged couple.

We scheduled a tasting with Loretta at Amphora's Herndon location and received great service. Loretta was very kind and patient and answered all of our questions. We showed her a picture of a cake we found online and Amphora replicated it EXACTLY. The cake was so beautiful and they were even able to get the exact sage green color I requested. The cake was also deliciously moist and flavorful. We choose the mocha rum and grand mariner. I have been ordering cakes from Amphora for years and knew they would do a fabulous job. Their prices are also extremely reasonable and are much less than other bakeries of the same quality. Thank you Amphora!

We met with Amphora with a design in mind for the cake. After selecting the cake and giving them our design, we were blown away by what they created for the wedding. Our initial cake design was simple fondant "ribbons" around the cake. The delivered the cake w/the ribbons but also with gorgeous sugar orchid flowers. We were really impressed and the cake was absoultely gorgeous and tasted great. The only slight complaint is that the fondant ribbon cracked in some places, but overall the cake was really pretty. Everyone loved the look and taste of the cake, we would highly recommend Amphora.

Amphora Bakery made two beautiful and delicious cakes for my wedding on New Years Eve. Although the tasting at their Herndon Bakery was a little hectic (we were there on a busy Saturday morning), Loreta helped us choose a design and flavors that we really liked. The wedding cake turned out more beautiful than I could have imagined. Every detail was done well, and not only did the cake look and photograph beautifully, it tasted delicious too! Amphora also made a groom's cake in the shape of the Ohio State "Block O" based only on a picture I emailed to Loreta. I asked for them to add a few roses in honor of the Rose Bowl the day after the wedding, and they placed them perfectly! Our guests were very impressed with the look and the taste of both cakes. I absolutely recommend Amphora for wedding and groom's cakes - they were great!

I was very pleased with my wedding cake from Amphora. I had a meeting with the baker at the Herndon location one time and never needed to go back for a second meeting. I got a 3 tiered cake, and because I could not afford a larger cake for all my guests, Amphora made an extra sheet cake which made it affordable for me. The cake was gorgeous, simple, elegant, and better than I expected. It was absolutely flawless and they arrived in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend Amphora Bakery.

Awesome !

Although we, the bride and groom, were too busy dancing on the dance floor when the cake was being served (and therefore actually missed eating it that day, but have since prematurely enjoyed the top layer), our guests are still raving about it! The 2 different flavors (lemon and amaretto) were just as awesome as our tasting - which was unforgettable and we truly enjoyed.

Thank you Amphora for adding another special touch to our wedding day!

Great service and a wonderful cake. Loretta walked us through the design process. Flawless cake that looked better than we imagined. Really good too! We chose 3 tiers (about 20 more servings than we needed) and it all went super-fast with almost nothing left over. Everyone we talked to thought it was exceptional. A perfect 5 out of 5 -- highly recommended.

We had a wonderful experience with Amphora bakery. We had an excellent meeting with them before we decided on what cake to get. Needless to say, she was extremely informative and we made the decision the same day of our first meeting with them. First off, she brought out 8 different cakes for us to eat. She wasn't pushy at all, listened to what we wanted and then offered suggestions. They were wonderful to deal with and on the day of the wedding the cake looked OUTSTANDING. Everyone commented on how pretty it was and then they ate it. Everyone, including folks who don't eat cake, absolutely LOVED the cake. It was delicious and our families took the left over. Thanks Amphora for a wonderful job and helping make our special day memorable. I can't wait to dig in the topper at our one year anniversary.
