I absolutely LOVED working with Anne Marie to plan our destination wedding in San Juan and could not recommend her more! From start to finish, she took time to get to know us as a couple, was always quick to respond to our questions and helped us find the best vendors in San Juan for our Wedding.
We made two visits to San Juan to meet with vendors and Anne Marie did a fabulous job setting up all our tastings and arranging the meetings with potential vendors. She is great with keeping in contact regularly during the planning process and I often got asked if planning a destination wedding was difficult. My answer was always no because Anne Marie made it so easy.
If we were to redo the process again, I would have no doubts going with AMK Events. Thank you for the best experience!

My now Husband and I had the absolute pleasure of having an incredibly talented and dedicated wedding planner for our special day in Anne Maire Kleis. I cannot emphasize enough how fantastic of a job she did! The attention to detail displayed by her was truly remarkable.
She took the time to understand our vision, preferences, and priorities, and then went above and beyond to bring them to life. She was incredibly organized and had backup plans in place for potential hiccups, ensuring that everything ran smoothly.
Her calm demeanor and problem-solving skills were truly invaluable, and they allowed us to relax and enjoy our day without any worries. Even when it ended up raining for most of the wedding. Not only was Anne a true professional, but she was also an absolute joy to work with. She radiated warmth and friendliness, making us feel comfortable and reassured throughout the planning process. Class act from the beginning!! Anne-Marie is the REAL DEAL when it comes to wedding planning – humble, kind, experienced, and IMMENSELY helpful. She understood our vibe and respected our budget, helping us narrow hundreds of vendors down to match exactly what we desired. Not only did she help with the normal planning items, but her expertise shines when offering advice on everything from venue to flowers (she knows everything from the country of origin to colors available yall!) to menu selection to the perfect cake. She is also incredibly creative and had ideas for our ceremony and reception that I would’ve never imagined that enhanced our night so much. Not only that, but she does all this with grace and a huge, warm SMILE. We can’t thank her enough for everything she did for us. You will be over the moon happy with Anne Marie! -

Anne Marie is the best wedding planner! She is on top of everything you need, immediately responds, makes time for you when you need, listens to what you want and what you need and executes your ideas perfectly. Even when I was unsure of what I wanted she executed my ideas perfectly. She is professional but also warm and welcoming. I am so incredibly glad I decided to contact her and hired her as my wedding planner. She did my wedding justice and it was a perfect night! -

Anne Marie made your day perfect, unforgettable and magical. We did a destination wedding and we were not sure what to do, but Anne Marie’s network of vendors is truly unmatched. Trust her completely to make your vision a realty. The entire day was completely stress free. We talked on the phone a few times prior to the wedding, but even through the phone calls I could completely trust her. She has excellent taste and is so creative and it made the wedding absolutely beautiful. Everything was perfect! Hire Anne Marie because she will be on your side 100% and make sure your wedding is absolutely incredible. -

I was so nervous when it came time to choose a wedding planner but I knew that having my wedding in Puerto Rico while I lived in NYC would mean I'd need some help. From the moment I spoke with Anne Marie, I knew she was the planner for me. She was always extremely professional and had warm and calm energy about her which I think every bride would agree is super important! She helped me select the best vendors for my day, advised me on just about everything regarding my wedding, drove me around to meet with vendors when I arrived in PR two months prior to my wedding and made sure every detail of my wedding was perfect and as my husband and I had imagined. She was wonderful when it came time to meet my family for the rehearsal, everyone absolutely loved her. Anne Marie was extremely responsive even when she was in the midst of planning other weddings, she never made me feel like another bride or wedding was more important or more urgent than mine. I'd recommend AMK a million times over (and in fact recommended her to a good friend who will also be planning her wedding with AMK now!). I don't know what i would've done without AMK Events helping me along the way. She helped me keep my sanity during the planning phase and day of! -

Hire her! You won't regret it!
I can not say enough good things about Anne Marie. Throughout this process she has become a friend. She is intelligent, professional, beautiful, and amazing at her job. Any time I would talk to Anne Marie, should would make me feel completely at ease. She did an absolutely stunning job at putting our wedding together. She found the best vendors for us and our needs. We had a small 50-person wedding in Vieques, and Anne Marie was able to coordinate getting everything and everyone to the island. I highly recommend Anne Marie if you’re looking for an outstanding planner! I was a very laid-back bride, so I would let Anne Marie run with things. But if you think you’ll be an anxious bride, Anne Marie will definitely be a great fit as well – she’s able to really put you at ease. Any questions you might have or worries, she will calm you down within seconds, she has a true gift! She’s very easy to get a hold of as well, through-out the whole process she was very accessible. She was truly a delight to work with. You must hire her! You will not be disappointed she is amazing! THANK YOU ANNE MARIE!! -

Stefani Sent on 07/19/2018Where to begin! I originally booked AMK Events at the beginning of 2017 for our very small (5 person!) wedding in Puerto Rico. HOWEVER, Hurricane Maria had other plans. After much deliberation, my fiance and I decided to move our wedding back to Florida, since our parents didn't feel comfortable traveling to PR. I didn't want to lose Anne Marie in the process, so I asked her if she would be interested in planning a Miami wedding. Fortunately, she loved the idea, and started working on our new wedding plans right away, with all new vendors! I made it clear to her that I didn't want a big fancy wedding, I just wanted something relaxed and beautiful. I also didn't want to sift through a ton of vendors, I just took all of her suggestions and everything came out exactly as I wanted. She chose the PERFECT ceremony site for us, the Ritz Carlton, Key Biscayne, the perfect photographer, Kismis Ink, and the perfect florist, Casa Flor! I met with Anne Marie the day before the wedding so we could walk through everything, and she had it all under control. On the day of my wedding I didn't have to think twice about anything, she handled it all. If there was one vendor from my wedding who meant the absolute most to me during the whole process, it was her. If I could do it all over again, she would be the first person I would re-hire. Thank you, Anne Marie!

Felicia Sent on 09/28/2015I could not have asked for a more beautiful experience with any other wedding planner. Anne Marie and Barbara are the cream of the crop.
I started my journey looking for a wedding planner almost 2 years ago. I talked to a few planners, but Anne Marie was the only one that really made me feel comfortable. My fiancé (now husband) and I had never visited Puerto Rico, but we wanted a destination wedding. We were nervous at first, but Anne Marie took all of the stress of planning away. From coordinating all of the vendors, to talking to me whenever I wanted, to answering every single question, to making wonderful recommendations, I am very happy with the way my day turned out. I was an extremely nervous bride, as we were on a tight budget, but she didn't let that hinder the vision for something extravagant. She really makes the experience personal- and it brought me to tears. I couldn't believe that someone I never met cared so much- and yes, she gets paid, but the feeling you get can't be bought. She is truly one of a kind.
I really couldn't have asked for anything more. She, Barbara, and La Concha EXCEEDED my expectations. I have gotten so many compliments from my guests- and I couldn't have done anything without AMK Events. I wish I could say more, but my day was perfect. Thank you so much !!! -

I live in Massachusetts and planning our wedding in San Juan, Puerto Rico, proved to be more difficult than my fiancee and I had anticipated...that is until we hired Anne Marie of AMK Events! She coordinated with all of the individual vendors and was the liaison with all of them. We made a trip to San Juan a few months prior to our wedding and Anne Marie arranged meetings with all of them for us, all of which she attended with us. She set up an amazing food tasting at the restaurant where we were considering holding our rehearsal dinner. She also drove us around Old San Juan and helped us scout out photo locations for our wedding day photography; our photos turned out gorgeous. The day of our wedding, Anne Marie was absolutely wonderful, we could not have done it without her. All the details and flow of the wedding on our big day just "happened" seamlessly, all because of her and her team. I would recommend AMK Events to any couple who is planning a wedding, she was key in everything coming together as we had envisioned it on wedding day (and all the activities that week in San Juan that led up to our big day!) -

Mekmek Sent on 06/27/2012Being a control freak I was a little hesitant in hiring a wedding planner until I began to get frustrated with vendors in Puerto Rico not returning phone calls or emails. I needed a no nonsense type of individual to help me get the job done. I’d interviewed a few planners on the island before receiving a call back from Anne Marie; ten minutes into our conversation I was ready to provide her with my credit card number. Her warm bubbly personality and sense of style had won me over. We chatted for over an hour about events she’d done all over the island and in the UK. Goggling her proved she was the real deal. Other brides had falling in love with her level of service, creative concepts and not to mention her vendor list. Within days of me signing a contract and provided photos of my ideas I was blasted with quotes from vendors and a real game plan. I knew then that I’d made the right choice.
We traveled to San Juan to meet Anne Marie face to face after months of planning via email and phone and it was as if we’d known each other for years. During this time she scheduled for us to meet with each and every vendor to go over our contracts. What I thought was going to be a rushed and overwhelming day turned out to be a fabulous one. It was like hanging out with one of my bridesmaids. She had a sense of when I was unhappy with something and helped us express our expectations fully. Her recommendations of vendors were spot on; even the rehearsal dinner site was amazing. In which at our tasting she footed the bill totally unexpected yet truly appreciated.
Anne Marie partnered with Barbara are a dynamic duo. If Anne Marie was not available then Barbara was there to step in and never missed a beat. When I received a call from FedEx that a box was undeliverable Barbara told me not to worry she would find it and when in an hour I received a call from her. Many of the streets in San Juan share the same name yet different zip codes and for some reason 1 of my 4 boxes ended up somewhere else. Barbara went out of her way to contact FedEx for me and tracked the box down at the end of the day of a Friday none the less.
Anne Marie has such repetition in Puerto Rico that the mere mention of her names changes then sound of a vendor’s voice. They automatically know that your wedding is in great hands. Each and every vendor we worked with spoke highly of Barbara and her.
Our wedding day went just as she’d planned. If something went wrong I had no idea and I still have a smile on my face from that.
Between the two of them every task and every detail was completed beyond my satisfaction. She was such a pleasure to work with that I would recommend her to EVERYONE.

Weddings are always imperfect. For a bride that’s spent thousands of hours in planning, that’s probably the hardest part. (At least for this type A lawyer. ) If I could do one thing over it would have been a wedding planner that paid attention to the details. She was three hours late on wedding day and largely missing when we all needed her most. I’ve realized in reflection that when everyone described her as “creative,” what they meant was flaky and disorganized. None of those tiny details that should have been attended to were noticed or fixed. The first sign was when my maid of honor noticed they were decorating the wrong tree- despite three site visits and hours of planning calls together! Thankfully my bride squad ran out and redirected, since AMK was MIA! 🤣
I worked with this artist for months to design watercolors that captured our beautiful flowers and the venue for the seating chart and welcome sign, but Anne Marie Kleis never checked to make sure that they fit in the frames we had ordered in advance. We even created a file to adjust the size, just in case this happened, but Anne Marie was too rushed and couldn’t be bothered to check that they fit. When I asked her a week before the wedding whether we could check to make sure they fit, she had forgotten to bring them, because they were “too heavy.” These are the things you let go, because in the end, it’s all part of the beautiful mosaic. Thankfully, Ritz Carlton and their staff were impossibly perfect and more than made up for her gaps. But I would caution any bride to make a different choice. -
