  They truly go above and beyond!

  We chose Above and Beyond not just because they were a preferred catering at The Grand Hall but we knew they did such a great job for my brother-in-law's wedding three-years-ago. Kayla really went the extra mile for us and I can’t tell you how much that meant to making our wedding day be absolutely perfect. We appreciated Above and Beyond being flexible with our budget and prompt with any correspondence. They even accommodated us for multiple tastings, so we could perfect the menu. For our menu, the chef even made a special sauce at our request! Kayla worked with the timeline of our reception, especially when we started the cocktail hour earlier than planned. She attend our final meeting at our reception venue, which was so kind of her to do. At the wedding, the buffet looked amazing, the food was incredible and still being talked about by our guests. Guests also complimented us about the great service they received during dinner. Kayla was there with us all along the way to make sure we felt completely carefree about how it was all going to happen. Additionally, Above and Beyond cut our cake and kept up with serving it to our guests when there was a huge demand.
  Most importantly, Kayla and the Above and Beyond staff paid close attention to the details for our table setting. They made our multiple dinner rentals look wonderful! Overall, Kayla and the Above and Beyond team were truly amazing throughout the entire wedding planning process. Please don't hesitate to book them for your next event!

  Roxanne, you and your team CRUSHED IT. The food that Above & Beyond prepared and served at our reception was delicious, plentiful, and served so beautifully and expediently (particularly given the large crowd and unique venue setup!). I can't thank you enough for your help in providing a delicious meal and setting to our friends and family. Your staff were so pleasant and helpful, even when they had been on their feet for hours and hours and transporting all of the material in from outside in the cold! What incredible food served by an incredible crew! Thank you from Mr. & Mrs. Morris!

  Roxanne and her team were amazing. Above & Beyond came up with a specialty "pasta cup" for our menu, simply based on a conversation we had during our initial consultation. Our guests raved about the food and we couldn't have been,ore pleased with the set up they created...it fit beautifully in with our color scheme and theme.
  And, the fact that we were able to work with then from Minnesota...I would recommend them and definitely use them again for any event I had to plan.

  Chase was nice he provided me with all the information needed as far as prices go. He also explained about the flexibility of the menus to accommodate our guests. Very helpful and useful.

  I can not say enough good things about Above and Beyond Catering, but I will say that their name is spot on accurate.
  
  We decided to keep it simple for our meal, and we only offered one choice for the main dish: Rosemary Chicken. Then we offered the garlic mashed potatoes and fresh green beans for our side, plus a salad and roll. It was as fabulous the day of, as it was when we did our tasting. Not only did my groom and I think so, but I received so many rave reviews from our guests I lost track, including both sets of parents. The chicken and mashed potatoes stole the show for most people, but even the salad was above and beyond amazing with fresh colorful vegetables and greens far better than your average iceburg salad.
  
  On top of amazing food, their presentation of it all was beautiful and added to our venue decor in such a complimentary way.
  
  It was their incredible service that really stood out to me though. They made a point of checking in with me to make sure I was happy with everything a couple of different times, but were never obtrusive. And they were on top of every detail. You can tell the entire staff truly enjoy what they do, and love doing weddings. The food preparation is an act of love, the servers are all happy and so accommodating. I truly can not say enough.
  
  To top all of this off, they are very reasonable in comparison to many other caterers, and we shopped around and did our homework on this one, because we knew it was going to be one of our larger expenses.
  
  I highly, highly recommend Above and Beyond catering. You will be impressed in every category, and your guests will be too.

  Above and Beyond Catering was wonderful and we received so many compliments on the food and presentation after the wedding. Roxanne was great to work with and very quick to respond to emails and phone calls. I would recommend this business to anyone looking for high quality food and professional catering for their event .

  Above & Beyond was wonderful to work with both before and during our wedding reception. They were the only caterer in Kansas City I could find that listed their pricing on their Web site - financial transparency is very important to me! I appreciated everything they did to make our wedding food exactly what my husband and I wanted at a very reasonable price. To top it off, the food was outrageously good. We had so many compliments after the reception.......still getting them to this day. We couldn't have chosen a better caterer.

  Absolutely amazing! We worked with Patrice, who impressed us from day one with her professionalism. She even helped us by creating dishes for our vegetarian guest and our diabetic guest. Our guests universally raved about the food!

  Above and Beyond Catering provided the food for our daughter's wedding in June, 2010. OUr meetings with Roxanne were great; she listened to our questions and we felt extremely comfortable with her. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. Our guests complimented our choices. Every item from the fruit and vegetable appetizers to the chicken and london broil, horseradish mashed potatoes (yummy!) were all done perfectly. We recommend Roxanne and Above and Beyond Catering highly!

  AB catering did a great job with our reception! We got lots of compliments on our food and Patrice was so great to work with! She was fun and had tons of energy which is great on your wedding day. She made sure to take extra special care of us and even sent us home with snacks for later in the night!

They where everything I expected and more. The food was fantastic, the service was exceptional, and the staff was more than willing to help and do in any way! All of our guests could not get over how great the food was, and the staff was rite there taking up the dishes when the were finished!   Excellent food! Guests asked for business cards. Very affordable. I had just under 200 guests and rented linens and dessert plates through them too. I had better food than any other wedding I've been too.

Her staff did an excellent job arranging all the tables according to the layout Roxanne and I had previously discussed. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about how to make best use of the hallway and receiving area near the main reception hall without compromising traffic flow and guest enjoyment. She was flexible and helpful in working around several serious food allergies we had to consider in our menu planning.
  
  
  We served fruit and vegetable trays (you must request the red pepper dip!) with goat cheese and cucumber canapés. Our main course consisted of chicken breasts in a lemon caper sauce and flat iron steak with a whiskey sauce. Fantastic! Even better than they were at the tasting! The sauce on the chicken was perfect, the beef was so moist you would never imagine it had to travel over an hour outside town to our venue. The green beans were sweet and crisp, the roasted potatoes perfectly browned. After a long day we were very excited to sit down to dinner but this was even better than we’d imagined.
  
  As I mentioned above, the service was excellent. Glasses were filled and plates cleared, the staff were on top of everything. Roxanne was very good with details, even providing an ice bucket and setting up the complimentary bottle of champagne our venue provided for our toast.   We used Above and Beyond Catering for our 260-guest wedding in July. We had a fruit and cheese appetizer station for our guests while we were taking photos, and then a heavy appetizer buffet once we arrived at the reception. I still have wedding guests telling me that it was the best food they've ever had at a reception, and i have to agree with them. Everything was absolutey delicious--even better than what we had at our original tasting. I just wish I'd had time to go back for a second plate! There was also a kids buffet that went over quite well with all the little nieces, nephews and cousins. The staff was incredibly professional and everything was presented beautifully. They even went out of their way to bring out food for a few guests who arrived late, after the buffet had been taken down. I would definitely recommend Above and Beyond to anyone looking for a caterer.

  I got many complaments at my wedding on how good the food was! I was very impressed with the service they provided at the reception and making sure that my guests were happy and more improtantly that we were happy and taken care of! Very tasty and have many options for budget worried brides!

  After searching high & low for a catering service that would take on my wedding where we were expecting less than 100 guests, Above and Beyond (Tina & Chase) came to my rescue! We had already planned that we wanted to have finger-type foods that guests could walk around and talk and eat without having a formal meal (formality is not our style). Tina came up with an AMAZING menu – everything on there was something I would typically order at a restaurant. Chase was an AMAZING coordinator – he was understanding that we had no clue what we were doing, but never led on that we were idiots that didn’t do a very good job doing our homework! When the big day came, they showed up & got straight to work & everything just happened (like magic)! I never once thought about or worried about anything going on all night. As an added bonus, they packed up to-go meals for me and my new husband to take with us back to our hotel room to eat before we passed out from the long day. The rest of the leftovers my parents took back to my house were just as amazing the next day before taking mid-day naps.

  Above and Beyond Catering sort of let me down. I did not have an awful experience but there were a couple of things that I was not pleased with and I expected more. First of all, the tasting was AMAZING! So when I had the food at the wedding and some of it was cold or undercooked I was embarrassed. Also, I buffered my final count by about 15 people and I know they build in a buffer too to make sure that there is plenty of food. Because I've been to too many weddings where there isn't enough food and I hate that. So I was surprised again when I found out the next day there was absolutely no food left. I was also told that there would be a to-go plate made for the groom and me since we probably wouldn't get the chance to eat much and we got nothing. And then the straw that broke the camel’s back was the fact that they did NOT cut the groom's cake at all. So I did not get any of my wedding cake (except for little taste when you take a bite in front of everyone) and there was a whole entire groom's cake leftover. The groom's cake was provided by a different vendor but it had been previously discussed that this would be cut along with the wedding cake. I was extremely disappointed about this.
  Now, there were good things about Above & Beyond. Roxanne is super nice to work with. She seemed to really care about what I wanted (unfortunately that didn't seem to be the case in the end). All of the wait staff was nice and helpful on the day of. They did a spectacular job of setting up and decorating the buffet area. It looked fabulous. Maybe it was just an off night for them because I really thought it would be a better company to work with. I would be leery to hire them again for an event.
