About Us

My style reflects all that Brooklyn is; born and raised my creativity has grown from Makeup/Hair Care to Photography and Styling. My name is Keenya Sherelle Trancoso but many know me as Special K. During my career, I have worked on numerous photo shoots, worked with celebrity clients for print, television, photography runway modeling, galas and video production: Ed Gordon, Chris Tucker, Morris Chestnut, Shon Gables, Senator Harold Ford Jr., Earl Graves Sr., Steve Harvey, Judge Mathis, Senator Eric Adams, Rev. Al Sharpton, Nick Cannon, Bryce Wilson, and many others. Black Enterprise Magazine for three years, has been the stomping ground for my growing passion, working on the television show ‘Our World with Black Enterprise and The Black Enterprise Report, has been an enriching experience. In addition, I currently work on private bookings, special shoots and events, videos, proms and bridal services.

I continually strive to reach new heights in all of my artistic creations I continue to set trends in the hair and makeup industry. I can create a clean and sophisticated look for the traditional look as well as a unique and exotic look. Precision is very important to me and it is nothing less than essential that the look and feel is flawless. Although I have been a hair artist since 2000, I have been exposed to hair design most of my life. Hair care has always been second nature for me. My creative and precise style is only complete when I meet the wishes of the client.

I jumped right into Photography head first in 1994 and didn’t fall in love with it until 2004. I visualize and advise the appropriate look for each individual shoot by giving each photo its own favor. In January 2007, I was blessed to have my first cover of Black Enterprise featuring Shane and Shawn Ward where I styled the twins and made them feel at home. My artistry in the art of photography has been a child to me that continues to grow into the place that many know as The Keen Spot.
