Southall Eden Paperie specializes in luxury custom event stationery that is truly unique. We are designer owned and operated, which allows us to create a one-of-a-kind stationery suite especially for your big day. The process begins with a consultation, either in-person or by phone or email, to learn more about you and your vision for your big day. From there, we begin gathering materials and designing a custom sample for you to review. Only when you are 100% satisfied with your sample does production begin. It is best to allow at least 4 months from consultation to delivery of your order, but we do our best to accommodate brides on any time line. Because we are a boutique operation, you can expect top-notch customer service from a real live person every step of the way. We are committed to the complete satisfaction of each of our clients.
The Venue:
Southall Eden is a 5 acre farm located in the rolling hills of Tennessee, just 2 miles from the picturesque village of Leiper's Fork and minutes from historic downtown Franklin. Its rustic charm make it the perfect setting for couples wanting a natural yet elegant setting for their ceremony or rehearsal. Its hillside setting offers views of the rolling pastures and horse farms, while its turn of the century barn and 1904 farmhouse make the perfect backdrop for an authentic farm wedding.

Additional Questions and Answers
1. What is the price range for custom invitations?
Custom invitations generally run from $3.50 each all the way up to $15- $20 each. This includes invitation and mailing envelope only. RSVP cards with envelopes are typically in the range of $1.00 each, while additional enclosure cards are usually $.75. There is a $500 minimum order for all weddings and a $350 minimum for other celebrations. This amount can include accessories as well as invitations. If this investment does not fit into your budget, you may want to browse our retail collection. (coming soon)
2. What accessories do you offer?
Our stationary suites can include whatever you can think up, including thank you cards, labels, favor tags, program covers, menus, place cards, beverage labels, table numbers, maps, guest books, and signage. If you want it, we can make it!
3. Are your invitations environmentally friendly?
Our standard printing paper for invitations is made of 100% cotton that comes from the byproducts of textile mills, not from a cotton plant. What’s more, the corporate offices of our supplier are 100% wind powered! When possible, we use environmentally friendly accent papers and envelopes, so if you are wanting a green wedding, please just ask. We are also conscientious about recycling at our studio.
4. How is price determined?
There are many factors that contribute to pricing. Obviously materials are the most important, but consultation time, design time, material research and acquisition, and difficulty of assembly also play a part.
5. When should I order my invitations?
Production time will vary depending on the style, but it is a good idea to start the design process at least four months before you want to mail your invitations. We try to accommodate every timeline and have in some cases delivered product within a week (yikes!) but the more time we have, the more attention we can give to your stationary. In extreme cases rush charges may apply.
6. When should I mail my invitations?
Invitations should be mailed 6-8 weeks prior to the event. If you have lots of out of town guests who will need to make travel arrangements, you will probably also want to send a save-the-date card, which can go out 8-10 months prior to the event.
7. Do you work with out of town clients?
Absolutely. Thanks to modern technology, it makes little difference where our clients are based. We work with brides nationwide.
Tips and Advice
With the state of the economy, it’s no secret that everyone is looking for ways to cut back their wedding budget. What are some way couples can save money on their stationary and still have something fabulous?
One of the best ways is to get organized before placing your order! Try to have a solid idea of how many invitation sets you will need. Most stationers recommend ordering 25 extra, but personally I think this is excessive. Of course you will want a couple as keepsakes and a couple for last minute guest list additions. But the more prepared you are the less you will end up spending, That being said, be careful not to under order. You absolutely don’t want to have to more later because the cost of printing 15 invitations will be MUCH higher per piece than when you order 150.
It may also save you money to think about any stationary you will want for the ceremony or reception and order everything at once, even though you will obviously not have all the last minute details hammered down at that time. If you have a wedding planner she can help you with this, and if not you can ask your stationer what services she/he offers. As a designer, if I am ordering metallic navy cardstock to make invitations but I know I will need the same paper for the couple’s menus and program covers on down the road, I can order everything at once. This saves me money, which I can in turn pass on to my client.
Finally, wedding website are a great way to relay details of the event and eliminate the need for multiple enclosure cards. It does look nice to send a hotel card, reception card, direction card, etc. with your invitation, but if this is not in your budget it is very acceptable to refer your guests to a website for all this information. P.S. I still hate RSVPing on a website, though.
More brides than ever are thinking about the environment when planning their big day. What does Southall Eden Paperie have to offer brides who want eco-friendly invitations?
We too are very environmentally conscious. Our standard invitation printing paper is tree free, made of 100% cotton that comes from textile by-products. We are also happy to seek out recycled specialty papers and envelopes for our clients. This doesn’t have to mean an “earthy” look, either. There are a variety of options of elegant papers in bold colors that are made of post consumer waste.
Final advice for brides?
Don’t be afraid to do what YOU want to do, regardless of what is dictated by tradition. This is YOUR day (oh, and, um, I guess your fiance’s too?) so it should reflect your tastes and personality, no matter what that may be. Don’t be afraid to do something different and to be bold. Both you and your guests really will appreciate the wedding experience more if it truly reflects you as a couple.
