Q: What types of music do you play?
A: As most DJ's may have an extensive library of music. Realistically, you only end up playing so many within a 4-5 hour time frame. That's why the right selection of music is discussed with the DJ. Depending on your type of event, ultimately, the DJ should be able to "read" the crowd and offer to receive requests during the event. Sound Wizards offers a wide variety of music ranging from the early 40's to Today's Top Hits and we love requests...

Q: How long have you been in business?
A: There's that old saying; You get what you pay for. Well most of the time that seems to be true, but often it's misconcepted. Although most DJ's are competitive, there are some who may charge higher or lower than normal. More expensive DJs tend to be the more experienced DJs. They can charge more because they have a lot of jobs, and they have a good reputation. Generally, the DJs on the low end of the price scale are new to the business, and trying to get established. They could do a great job, and might be worth a shot if your party is on the informal side. But there is probably more risk with a less experienced person. As you speak with DJs, pay attention to their professionalism over the phone. It tends to spill over into their DJ style. A successful DJ Company should be able to provide recent references upon request.
