Short Stack Cakes specializes in artistically designed wedding cakes. Indulge your passion for romance with a grand finale that fulfills your sweetest expectations. We make it easy for you to provide your guests with a delicious wedding cake that's a beautiful work of art.
Every item is handmade fresh from scratch, using only the finest ingredients. Our cakes and frostings are made from scratch the old-fashioned way. All of our cakes, fillings and frostings are made from fresh whole eggs, grade AA butter, real cream, local and organic fresh fruits, bourbon vanilla bean and European chocolates. Choose from a wide variety of exceptional cakes and fillings, from traditional to the exotic. What you will find is a really good dessert and we are confident that you will taste the difference! We specialize in individually designed wedding cakes created especially for each customer. Our bakers have over 15 years of experience creating elegant and beautiful wedding cakes. We can create your original idea in cake, we can work with photos you provide, or we can make suggestions for a wedding cake that compliments your theme or colors.
We work with Rolled Fondant, Butter Cream Icing, Bead Borders, and Real Flowers, to name a few.
Please request your wedding cake at least two weeks in advance. Our schedule fills up quickly, and great wedding cakes take time to make.
We are happy to deliver your cake within a 20 mile radius of Atlanta with no charge. Outside of this area a small charge will be added. Other arrangements can be made with you if delivery is not possible.

Alissa Short is the gifted pastry chef-owner of Short Stack Cakes. As a young girl growing up in Indiana, Alissa’s mother baked every day for the family. Alissa started baking at age 6 at her mother's side. This passion for baking since childhood sparked a culinary journey that has ranged from the Midwest to the Western Coast, to the Deep South then to Vienna, Austria and back again! Formally trained at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, while enrolled in school she won a gold medal in a competition for the American Culinary Federation and also graduated with the highest honor of Summa Cum Laude.
She then went on to bake at Rathbun’s in Atlanta under Pastry Chef Kirk Parks. There baking everything from Bread to desserts. Then went on to take an Executive Chef position for a corporate food service company in Alpharetta, GA. All the while still making as many cakes as possible in her spare time. But she found herself enjoying making the wedding cakes most of all. She consequently opened up Short Stack Cakes in 2005 to provide local caterers and discerning individuals with custom designed wedding cakes. Her goal is to create a delicious and unique work of art that will be the centerpiece of your celebration. She enjoys working with clients and becoming a part of their celebration whether it is a wedding, civil union, 50th birthday, or 60th anniversary.
