For some people, photography is a hobby.  For some it is a job.  For some it is an occupation.  I think of photography as a passion.

If you are looking for a great photographer who will go above and beyond what you've seen from other photographers, Ryan's your guy! We've refered many of our clients to Ryan, and they've loved his work. Here at Bliss Honeymoons we're pretty picky about who we work with, and we don't let just anyone onto our preferred vendor's list. Ryan certainly deserves his spot on our vendor list, and should be a serious contendor for your person wedding vendor list as well.

Tips and Advice
How do you choose a wedding photographer?

I often meet people at weddings that say, "Wow, I wish we had you as our photographer when we were married!"  When I ask them why they hired the photographer that they did they say things like, "That was all we could afford," or "We didn’t think it really mattered at the time," or "My parents set it up."  Of all the vendors you hire for your wedding, there are a few that can make or break your day.  Often it is the vendors that directly interact with your family, wedding party, and guests.  So I have compiled a very simple logical sequence for selecting a photographer.

1. Check out the website.  Do you like the images?  No?  Move on.  Don’t look at price first.  Look at the images.  This sounds incredibly simple because it is.  You might even create a folder in your "Favorites" tab on the internet.  Save the websites in this folder and then you can go back in and eliminate them as needed.

2.  You should check out some packages and prices.  From here you should make a list of 3 things ON PAPER.  First, list products and services that you absolutely want.  Second, list products and services that you would like to have but are not absolutely necessary.  Third, make a list of items that you do not want.  This is real easy, too.  Having your thoughts on paper will make it easy for you to engage in conversation with your photographer and it will help you have a clear "picture" for yourself.

3.  Contact the photographer by phone or email.  This is where you should rely a little bit on your gut instincts.  Does the photographer get back with you that day or is it a week later?  How are their phone skills?

4.  Meet the principal photographer in person, not just a representative.  You need to get a feel for how this individual will interact with you and your family, party, and guests.  Again, your gut should be saying something.

5.  By now, you should have your list narrowed down to 1 to 3 photographers...you should feel confident about using any of the photographers on your list at this point.
