We had our wedding ceremony in front of the showalter fountain, and the reception was held in the Grand Foyer of IU Auditorium. I cannot say how great the IU auditorium staffs are! I do not need to worry about a thing at my wedding day. They worked with my other vendors seamlessly and everything went very smoothly.
We worked with Katie for the reception and ceremony, she is awesome! She made sure all my needs were met, and was very very responsive when I have questions during the planning process. She is very passionate about what she does and also very professional. The whole team at IU auditorium is great! They are very friendly and know exactly what they are doing.
Plus, the venue itself is gorgeous!!! With all our decor, it was amazing!
Plus plus, you get the chance of going inside the theater for photo shooting! How awesome!!!

I can't say enough great things about the staff at the IU Auditorium. I literally didn't have to worry about a thing on my wedding day. Everything was taken care of. Katie is the most amazing coordinator! Our ceremony was held in the Hall of Murals and it was absolutely perfect. Thank you!

Working with the IU Auditorium was a dream. Ask and you shall receive should be their motto. Anything we wanted was accommodated almost immediately. We had an entire event staff on hand which made our wedding go as smooth as possible. We loved working with the IU Auditorium and would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone!

The Auditorium was beautiful venue for both our ceremony and reception. The Auditorium staff is absolutely fantastic - they were helpful and accomodating. I am incredibly happy with our choice of venue.

Such a lovely and unique venue! I got so many compliments from my guests. You hardly need much decoration because of the natural beauty of the room. Erin is amazing to work with!

Beautiful venue, however, I was quite disappointed about how things went. Originally I met with their original wedding coordinator, which was amazing. As of Feb 2012, they got a new coordinator and Jessica started. Unfortunately, she is just not very experienced and really needs extra training or something. I really noticed her inexperience when we had our initial/final consultation (my initial one was with Erin which really didn't count since Jessica apparently didn't review any of her notes so we pretty much had to start from scratch). My caterer had to help her envision what I wanted. There were things, that she should have known, that just wasn't going to work, and the caterer knew this right off the bat. It made the caterer kind of feel mad for butting in and taking over, but I really appreciated it because I haven't done this before and wasn't sure what to say or do either. I needed someone experienced so that my wedding could be as beautiful as I had dreamed.

The week before the wedding, she kept having her intern contact me and ask me questions which we had discussed in our final consultation. I started getting so irritated with having to repeat things and there were some things that the caterer mentioned that I couldn't remember. I just feel like she should have been taking notes and referring to these notes. The week before the wedding was stressful enough without the added stress that Jessica added. She was calling even the Thursday before the rehearsal. It really helped me lose confidence in how the wedding would go.

The day of the rehearsal, was even more of a mess. She was setting us up incorrectly and when I asked a question, the answer was always "whatever you would like". Well, not having been married before, I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted. It would have been nice to have some options given by her. Instead my pastor kind of took over for her (luckily) and did the entire rehearsal. By the end, I was more stressed out than the beginning because I just didn't feel like I was ready for the wedding. The rehearsal took 60 minutes when it should have only taken 30 minutes - but this was mainly because Jessica was so disorganized for the first 30 minutes before the pastor took over, that we wasted so much time.

The day of the wedding, Jessica was very scarce. Her interns were around sometimes, but whenever you asked them a question, they would have to go hunt for her because they didn't know what they were doing. I don't know if they weren't being trained or what the problem was. I know that there were things that were not ready by 230pm when the wedding started at 430 - like the guest book table or the place card table was not set up. This is when the florist assistant and the photographer had to get on them and get these things up and ready for the wedding. Of course, the photographer just kind of got me to go upstairs and she had her husband take some pictures, so I didn't know this was what she was doing. She told me later that was what she did when I mentioned how stressed out the Auditorium staff was making me. When it started to sprinkle during the cocktail hour (which was outside) Jessica really had no idea what to do. The pictures had to come inside and so did the guests. She just let guests go up and down the stairs behind where the pictures were being taken - she really should have noticed that this would be a problem with the pictures. This was the thing with Erin, she saw things before they even happened. She was a natural. Jessica isn't a natural, but hopefully with experience she will become better. I shared these concerns with the Auditorium so these problems hopefully do not happen in the future. It is truly a beautiful venue, and there is nothing else like it on the Indiana University campus. Just be aware and prepared that the organization might not be there - a wedding coordinator that you hire would be great for this venue so they can bother them and not stress you out.

I put that I would recommend this vendor, but I would definitely explain to them these problems so they would be prepared. My venue was gorgeous after all was said and done though.
