About

Capturing once-in-a-lifetime moments

As a photographer for more than 15 years, the focus of my work has evolved
over time from primarily fine art images to portrait and event photography.
My style is mainly photojournalistic, meaning that I primarily approach
photographing events with the same vigor, style, and technique as a
newspaper photographer, preserving moments as they unfold naturally. Of
course I also capture more formal posed shots, and I leave the decision of
how many posed shots go into the mix up to the couple.

On the day of your wedding or commitment ceremony I will be there when
you need to find me and a fly on the wall when you don’t want to see me, all
the while capturing the story of your wedding day - from the intimate details
to the grand moments - from beginning to end.

This is your day and I am there to make sure you can reflect on the moments
you remember and those you were too busy to catch for years to come.

With a style that creatively captures those intimate moments without being intrusive, Eric Hauser chronicles your special day with accuracy, artistry, and attention to detail: from the whole family on the church steps to the littlest member of your party sneaking an extra finger full of icing off the cake. And he’s so professional and such a breeze and joy to work with, you’ll wish you could have hired him to handle the music, food, and flowers!

Frequently Asked Questions for Photography
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
I personally post-process, edit, and retouch each digital image from the wedding day. I offer a mix of color and black and white images - and again, I defer to the couple's preference.

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
All kinds of natural light, dimly lit indoor venues, etc.

Is your media preference film or digital?
99% digital with the occasional use of old film cameras, fisheye cameras, etc. just for fun when the situation allows.

How many photographers do you work with?
None.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
Yes, absolutely. If you hire me, you get me.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?
I would never book more than one wedding in a day. If you book me for a day, you have me to yourselves for that day.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
Since I shoot in a mostly photojournalistic style, I am on the move a lot. Therefore, I do not bring big lights, light stands, reflectors, etc. I have two DSLRs, flashes, a number of different lenses, memory cards, etc.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes, of course. At least two DSLRs, two flashes, redundant lenses, etc.

Do you charge hourly or full day?
Full day

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
One, just the meal break. The rest of the time I am working.

Do you charge for travel?
No, the first 90 minutes of travel are free.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Generally 2-3 weeks

In what format are the initial proofs offered?
Private online gallery and 4x6 prints.

How long can the client keep the proofs?
As long as they want.

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
Yes. I give the couple the right to reproduce all images for non-commercial uses.

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
Yes.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?
Yes. I provide a DVD with all the high-res, retouched JPGs.

Will images be available for viewing online?
Yes.
