About

Good day to you,

I would like to introduce myself.  I am Kim Buie, a wedding officiant who is legally qualified to perform wedding ceremonies, as well as pre-marital counseling, baptisms, funerals, vow renewals, affirmations of love, commitment ceremonies, etc…in the Illinois and part of Missouri.

I possess various degrees pertaining to the ministry business including Doctor of the Universe, Doctor of Motivation, Doctor of Divinity, and Doctor of Metaphysics, all of which are honorary degrees, not educational although I did have to study for and take the tests.  My rates are very reasonable and I am always willing to work with my clients.

Sincerely,

Kimberley Buie

Frequently Asked Questions for Officiant
What officiant services do you provide?
Interfaith Ceremony, Non-religious Ceremony, Single Religion Ceremony

Can you accommodate the hearing impaired?
No

Are you willing to perform a ceremony at a non-religious site?
I can and will perform a ceremony at any place. It does not matter if the location is at a church, religious site, park, your home, etc... It is your wedding, plain and simple.

Are you flexible in the wording used throughout the ceremony, including the vows?
I am always flexible to the wording used, the bride and groom deserve input and the right to choose their vows if that is what they wish.

Do you allow the couple to write their own vows, if desired?
Yes, I do allow the couple to write their own vows.

Do you have a list of readings pre-selected, from which the couple must choose?
I do have a list of vows that the couple can choose from, but it is not a must choose. The choice is completely up to the couple.

Do you require that premarital counseling be done?
I never require pre marital counseling, I do offer the service to the couple if they choose it.

Are you willing to perform pre-ceremony rehearsals?
The choice of pre-ceremony rehearsal is up to the couple. I do not require it.

Additional Questions and Answers
What sets me apart from the other officiants, is that I can provide proof of ordination and a letter of good standing with my church if the couple feels they need to see something.  I do require a contract to not only protect me, but the couple as well.  The contract is a method of locking in the rate, in the event I have to raise my rates.

Tips and Advice
When planning your big day, remember to check the Illinois Marriage License Laws at   www.idph.state.il.us/vitalrecords/marriage_faq.htm :

1. For instance, the ceremony must take place in the same county that you obtained a marriage license.

2. There is a one day waiting period (next day) from when you obtain you license till when you can marry.

3. A common misconception is that you need witnesses, you do not need witnesses.

4. Cost for a marriage license varies from county to county so be sure to check with the clerks office in your county of choice.

5. You do not need to reside in Illinois to be married in Illinois, but you do need to obtain your marriage license the day before the ceremony.

6. You do not need a blood test to marry in Illinois.
