Describe your DJ style:
All my DJ's are 'down-to-earth' and handle each event tastefully. I do recommend discussing your specific needs since some DJ's 'Master of Ceremonies' skills will vary from low-key to high-energy.
What is your usual attire?
Tuxedo unless another style is requested.
If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
We are always happy to buy special requests. We only ask you provide music if we have trouble obtaining a song or if you are creating a special mix.
How many other DJs do you work with?
I work with six on a regular basis but know hundreds of disc jockeys across the USA (and a few outside the country, as well). I was a former director for the American Disc Jockey Association.
What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
We do not have any minimum time fram but most packages include 'up to four hours'.
Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
Yes unless a couple decides to choose our 'best available' package, in which case, they meet with the DJ/MC three weeks before their event. This is typically recommended for 'off-peak' days or couples on a tight budget.
Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?
We have handled international events. If we feel we are not qualified to handle an event, we will refer you to someone else.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Yes. We also carry back-up equipment (just in case).
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
Yes.
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
one hour is the average set-up time but it could be much longer depending on equipment desired, location, guest arrival, etc.
Do you have any extra space requirements?
No, unless you desire special effects and lighting.
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
We do handle 'Master of Ceremony' duties and occasionally talk between songs when necessary. We feel that announcements should have a purpose.
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
It is not a requirement but some days may work out to be ten or twelve hour days for your entertainer, in which case, it is appreciated.
Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?
Yes.
What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes.
What is your overtime rate?
Generally, $200.00 per hour.
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
We handle many Southern California locations, Las Vegas and Arizona. Travel charges may apply for some locations depending on the entertainer desired and how far they are traveling.
