If you are looking to have a great wedding reception, look no further than DJ "Peace!!! You'll have a great party!
DJ Mark "Peace" Thomas did my wedding ceremony and reception and he's awesome! He works with me and my fiance to find out what we want out of him, and tailored the program to include creative and interactive games that entertain our guests. His price is exceptionally reasonable for the service offered. A top notch wedding DJ.
I have had the good fortune to work with Mark Thomas aka DJ Peace of Awesome Entertainment and he is just that...a very peaceful presence and an "Awesome" DJ He is totally in control of his work and you can depend on him and his associates to give you what you want in the most gracious way. I recommend him and refer to him often. Mary Jean Valente A Ceremony of the Heart

Frequently Asked Questions for DJ
Describe your DJ style:
All my DJ's are 'down-to-earth' and handle each event tastefully. I do recommend discussing your specific needs since some DJ's 'Master of Ceremonies' skills will vary from low-key to high-energy.

What is your usual attire?
Tuxedo unless another style is requested.

If you do not have one of the songs pre-requested by the client, do you require that they provide it?
We are always happy to buy special requests. We only ask you provide music if we have trouble obtaining a song or if you are creating a special mix.

How many other DJs do you work with?
I work with six on a regular basis but know hundreds of disc jockeys across the USA (and a few outside the country, as well). I was a former director for the American Disc Jockey Association.

What is the minimum amount of time you will DJ for?
We do not have any minimum time fram but most packages include 'up to four hours'.

Is the client able to meet the DJ before booking?
Yes unless a couple decides to choose our 'best available' package, in which case, they meet with the DJ/MC three weeks before their event. This is typically recommended for 'off-peak' days or couples on a tight budget.

Do you specialize in any ethnic or international events?
We have handled international events. If we feel we are not qualified to handle an event, we will refer you to someone else.

Do you bring your own equipment?
Yes. We also carry back-up equipment (just in case).

What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
Yes.

How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require that the site or client provide a table for you to set up on?
one hour is the average set-up time but it could be much longer depending on equipment desired, location, guest arrival, etc.

Do you have any extra space requirements?
No, unless you desire special effects and lighting.

Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
We do handle 'Master of Ceremony' duties and occasionally talk between songs when necessary. We feel that announcements should have a purpose.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?
It is not a requirement but some days may work out to be ten or twelve hour days for your entertainer, in which case, it is appreciated.

Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?
Yes.

What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
Yes.

What is your overtime rate?
Generally, $200.00 per hour.

Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
We handle many Southern California locations, Las Vegas and Arizona. Travel charges may apply for some locations depending on the entertainer desired and how far they are traveling.

Additional Questions and Answers
Do we interact with guests?  Most of our DJ's are trained actors and Master of Ceremonies but the interaction level depends on your desired atmosphere.

Do you offer anything unique? A few of our entertainers offer a narrated 'love story' option which is a great way to share the humor and emotion with friends and family. Expanded introductions are also very popular and most of our Emcees are qualified to handle the music editing and announcements smoothly. We have other games and activities available based on your needs.

Do you have liability insurance? Yes.

Are you licensed. Yes.

Do you have referrals? Yes, most of our business is from our past clients and wedding professionals. We have many references, just ask! We were voted 'Best of The Knot' in 2008 and recommended in Pasadena Weekly's 'Wedding Edition' in 2008.

Do you belong to any organizations? We are proud members of the American Disc Jockey Association, Association of Bridal Consultants, Pasadena Chamber of Commerce and National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences. Mark Peace Thomas is a member of the Wedding Entertainer's Guild and a Certified Wedding Consultant.

Tips and Advice
Remember to talk to your disc jockey about your room layout so that he can place the speakers in the best possible location. Once you know where the speakers will be placed, remember to seat older guests (or guests you know will be more sensitive to sound) away from the loudspeakers. It is a good idea to request that your DJ place his speakers on stands so that no one will have a speaker in their face!
