The story of our wedding
Vincent and I were married on May 17, 2019, at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx, New York. We had our ceremony at the Lillian and Amy Goodman Stone Mill, overlooking the river and under tall evergreen trees. Our officiant was a family friend and spoke of how our parents, friends, and loved ones -- some of whom were gathered with us that day -- will be supporting us fervently in our marriage. We exchanged our own vows, which mirrored each other's, and sealed it with a kiss while "A Fool for Love" by Lord Huron played.
Our cocktail hour took place in the courtyard as the sun began to set, and we all gathered upstairs in the Stone Mill for the reception. My twin sister, the Maid of Honor, gave the first speech, followed by Vincent's Best Man with the second. We had a three-course sit-down menu with ingredients that were organic and locally-sourced. The evening continued with our first dance, followed by parent dances, and partying!
It was, most certainly, the best day we've ever had. Coming together to celebrate with all those who have been a part of our lives was just indescribable. What a day, and what a start to our marriage!
