About The Happy Couple
Colleen was born and raised in the bustling centrally located city of Worcester, Massachusetts. Did you know candlepin bowling was invented there? Not many people do!
She attended Clark University in Worcester Massachusetts where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Biology (2002). She then went on to work in various labs (including research labs focused on ADME, pharmacokinetics, metabolism, toxicology, pharmacology, diabetes, oncology, and other human diseases) for a few years until she found her niche.
For the past 5 years, she has been performing preclinical research focused on the area of infectious diseases. Yeah, she's a hardcore science geek and she loves it!
Timmy was raised in the breathtaking, scenic, and historical town of Lake George, New York.
He joined the United States Marine Corps in 2001 and served for 7 years, including a tour in Iraq. After an honorable discharge and a short stint as a civilian, Tim decided that he had more to give to the military and re-signed with the Army as an infantryman. He went on to serve in Korea, fulfilled a tour in Afghanistan, and called Fort Drum his home. While serving, he successfully assumed many roles such as Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, and Assistant Operations Sergeant for Squadron headquarters. While earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. In 2013, he left the military to pursue other avenues of opportunity. He recently graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor's degree in Business. He is currently pursuing his second degree at Pennsylvania State University in the field of Turfgrass Science while working as Assistant Superintendent of Green Hill Municipal Golf Course. He notes that he spends much of the day chasing wild animals off the 12th fairway while keeping the greens in tip-top shape.

He's from NY and she's from MA.Wait ....What?How did that happen?
They were introduced by mutual BFF CJ Clark on New Year's Eve in 2003.
Colleen and CJ attended the same university. They met on the very first day of freshman orientation. Day one sealed the deal of their now...15 year friendship. Has it really been that long?
Timmy met CJ one day long long ago at a summer day camp while playing “warball”. With C.J being an only child and Timmy having only sisters, the bond of brotherhood was quickly formed. CJ looked out for Timmy throughout the years until CJ moved to Massachusetts for college in 1998.
What's "The Story"?
Many of you probably know the story...it's a favorite tale of Timmy's to tell. ;-) But for those of you who do not or would like a refresher....read on. :-D
She Says: I met Timmy at a New Year's Eve Party. CJ introduced us. "Colleen this is my little brother Timmy, Timmy this is my best friend Colleen." I said "What's up?" smiled and shook his hand. He didn't really say much so CJ and I continued our conversation while he stood by and listened. Ya know, normal party banter. After CJ and I were done chatting I went about my merry way for another drink and more socializing.
He Says: I saw a picture of this "hot little number" on CJ's wall before a New Year’s Party, and asked to be introduced. CJ quickly informed me that I didn’t stand a chance, but said he would later that night. When the moment finally came to be introduced, I blanked. I was face-to-face with the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. I couldn’t do anything but stare with my mouth opened and drool. Fortunately, I don’t think she noticed my awkwardness. She didn’t say more than two words before turning away from me and returning to her conversation with CJ.
The Years After
Timmy went on to continue his career serving in the military while Colleen went on to pursue her career in the biomedical field.
Timmy would call home and check in with CJ through the years and catch up on the events of life in general as well as asking about Colleen. He referred to her as "my future wife". Colleen was aware of this little nickname and found it amusing. It became an inside joke between Colleen & CJ and other friends. It was no secret that Timmy had a bit of a crush. However, Timmy was not aware of his secret being public knowledge. ;-) Through the years Colleen would ask how Timmy was faring in life as well.
In the beginning of 2009 when (MySpace was still a thing) CJ informed Colleen that Timmy had an account and it would probably make his little brother's day if she messaged him while he was overseas to see how he was doing for herself. So she did. And that was the start of a beautiful friendship.
After that Facebook became huge and they moved over to communicating there. While he was overseas, stationed at Fort Drum and then overseas again they would communicate through SCRABBLE online. :-)
They shared the good and bad in their lives as well as advice and support from afar. Through his deployments, they stayed connected through SCRABBLE and the Red Sox Update letters Colleen would send to her SB (Scrabble Buddy) in the field. They became best friends.
Timmy arrived back in the states for good in early 2011. He came to visit his big brother in Massachusetts as well as his SB. That was the beginning of the realization that there was a deeper connection to the friendship that Colleen and Timmy shared. They agreed to spend some time together to see where it led them. Timmy would drive the 450 miles to Massachusetts pretty much every weekend to see her. When she wasn't working the weekend shift she would travel to see him as well. As fate would have it, their friendship and years of bonding and sharing had sealed a very strong foundation for a relationship. Timmy knew it was meant to be, Colleen needed some convincing.
As time went by, Colleen realized Timmy was right from the start (yep it's in writing, she admitted he was right!). He spent some more time in the military before retiring. He moved down to Massachusetts in early 2012 to be with her permanently.
On October 25th 2013 they took a weekend getaway trip to her favorite place in the world (and one of his now too)...the White Mountains of NH...specifically Mount Washington. There at sunset on the Jewel Terrace of the hotel, with the snow-covered mountain as the backdrop, he proposed to his best friend and she accepted. <3
