Scott and Lauren's Wedding in Saint Augustine, Florida

The story of our wedding

Scott proposed to me on the beach in Saint Augustine, Florida, our favorite city. There was no question that we also wanted to get married in Saint Augustine. Our wedding was originally supposed to be April 4, 2020, but was postponed due to COVID. We did get legally married in a private ceremony on the same beach he proposed on our original date. Our wedding was postponed to June, the postponed again until November (third time's the charm). We were so lucky that all of our vendors were able to switch the dates so easily and that most of our guests were still able to make it. Our ceremony was on the rooftop at The White Room, overlooking the water. We wrote our own vows, different from the ones we wrote for our private ceremony. Cocktail hour and the reception were downstairs in the ballroom. We have a pet bunny named Belle, who was not at the wedding, but she was there in spirit as our signature drink, on our cake topper, and as a photo booth prop. Our favorite moment was our first dance. We started taking dance lessons before COVID, so when our wedding was postponed, we continued to practice our dance everyday in our living room. When we started to dance at the wedding, everyone began to cheer and we were confused as to why, because we had not done any of our "fancy" moves yet. We booked all of the vendors so long ago, and forgot that the DJ provided fog! It was an amazing time and we had so much fun finally showing all of our family and friends what we had been practicing for so long. There are so many beautiful places in Saint Augustine for photos, so we had some in the historic streets and sunset photos by the water. We ended the night with a sparkler exit and a horse and carriage as our getaway. I truly think that us having to wait longer for our big day made it even more fun.
