20 Nov, 2020The story of our wedding
****Our wedding was 11/20/21 but Wedding Wire is telling me I can't post if I hadn't got married yet, but its January 2022?****
Most girls dream of their wedding day at a young age. They dream of the place, their perfect dress, their Prince Charming, etc.. I on the other hand wasn't really that girl. I dreamed of going to Hawaii for as long as I can remember. I use to tell my grandmother "I'm going to get married in Hawaii one day" and that was about the extent of my "dreaming". I think that dream was mostly geared toward just going to Hawaii but who knew it would actually happen? The funny thing is, it wasn't a destination wedding, I actually live in Hawaii. It wasn't my plan to end up here to live it just kind of happened. I met my husband through mutual friends in High School back in North Carolina. He is a year older than me and when it was time to go off to college he went to a local school about 2 hours away while I finished my senior year of high school. After that first year, he decided he wanted to go to school in Hawaii, which to me was insane and I never thought we could make it work. I stayed back and did my first year of college and he went off to Hawaii for what was just going to be a year. Well, a year turned into him asking if I would like to move out there with him. I had visited twice and of course loved everything about it, I questioned moving so far for a couple months until I just decided to go off and do it. I mean, how many people actually get the opportunity to pick up their life and move to Hawaii? So, that's basically how I had the chance to get married in Hawaii without actually realizing my dreams were all coming to fruition. My husband proposed in the beginning of the COVID pandemic when everything was just about to shut down. This kind of threw a wrench in his plans as he received the ring the week things were shutting down. We went on a hike with our pup and we just sat up there enjoying being outdoors since we were indoors for over a week. After sitting up there for about an hour he dropped to one knee as we were about to head down. I have obviously been waiting for this for such a long time that I thought it was a joke. He proposed on April fools day so I was threatening to throw him off the mountain for this joke haha. BUT, it was real and after 11 years of being with the love of my life, we were finally moving in a beautiful direction. I married my husband on our 12 year Anniversary at my dream place, and he cried! So, I say that is a big win haha. I strongly believe that there is a soulmate for everyone, that your person is perfectly placed in your life for a reason and that is 10000% my husband. All things point to him, always have and always will.

It is called Hale Koa Estate in Hauula and I HIGHLY recommend it if you are looking for the perfect venue that offers everything you could possibly need. It not only has space for the ceremony & reception, but you can also stay on property and it sleeps 46 people! It was absolutely perfect for all of our family and friends to stay and attend the wedding without having to worry about hotels and how to get around. It was very lush and gave the perfect look for a garden/romantic setting. They set up all the tables/chairs for the ceremony & reception which they provide! We had the most perfect venue and perfect vendors, I don't think these photos give enough justice to how incredible everything was. I am so thankful for Wedding Wire for being the number one source for all of my wedding planning and all of my vendors, friends, and family for getting me through the day and helping make all of this possible. I can't believe I FINALLY got to marry this man!
