6 Oct, 2018The story of our wedding
When we started planning our wedding, we knew that we wanted two things: to get as many of our friends and family together as possible and to have the day fully represent us and our relationship. We picked the Haseltine Estate for our venue because it had this fairytale, garden, romantic feel to it that we just fell in love with. We decided to serve personal size brick oven pizza’s because it is our absolute favorite thing to eat, and who doesn’t love pizza!? Most of our decorations and all of the stationery were handmade by us. It was a labor of love but to us it was worth it because we knew everything would be unique to our wedding. On our wedding day, we had friends and family travel from all over the country, and even the Philippines to be there to celebrate with us. Despite mother nature trying to rain on us during our ceremony, the day was everything we wanted and more. The day started off with all seven of myself, my bridesmaids, my mom, my mother in law, and my grandma drinking mimosas and getting pampered in the bridal suite. We decided the week before the wedding to do a first look, and I am so glad we did because that is a moment I will treasure forever. Seeing him made my heart stop, and all my worries just melted away. For our ceremony, we decided to have two officiants, because both of my father's brothers are pastors and having them part of the ceremony gave it the personal touch we wanted. We also exchanged some of our own vows, and being that my husband is a big car guy, I vowed to never force him to sell his car for a minivan. Thankfully that was a moment our photographer caught on camera. I think that first kiss after we were pronounced husband and wife has to be my favorite moment of the day though. It was the best kiss ever! The reception turned out to be the most epic party of our life. I remember looking around and there was not a single person sitting in their chair, everyone was up on the dance floor having a great time. I shoved cake in my husband's face, my sister re-wrote Taylor Swift's love story for her maid of honor speech and sang us the best song we have ever heard, and we danced until we couldn't anymore. At the end of the night, he had a sparkler exit and rode off into the night in the back seat of a 1934 Brewster. We were showered with so much love that our faces hurt from smiling so much by the end of the day. It really was the best day ever!
