23 Mar, 2019The story of our wedding
Our wedding was old Hollywood inspired; a black tie optional event. We got engaged a year and a half before the wedding so we had a while to plan. One of the best decisions we made was hiring a wedding planner right from the start. The venue we choose was a historic hotel in downtown Tampa, only about a 10 minutes drive from our house (which was great because of course I forgot something the morning of the wedding). We had about 125 guests (only two people decline the week before so we even got to fill in their seats! We got lucky). We also go lucky having the most beautiful Tampa weather the day of the wedding, which meant we got to walk around and take pictures in downtown without melting. We did choose to have our ceremony and reception inside in the same venue so we didn't have to worry if we had woken up to rain. I'm been to too many rainy weddings in Tampa to make the allure of outside worth it. But it was great that our photographer planned locations within short walking distances of our venue to go take photos. It was nice to have a bunch of different backdrops when we got the photos back. I'm not going to lie, it was a stressful, whirlwind of a day, but looking back through all the memories, reminds me it was absolutely perfect. We're so excited to finally be married!
