The story of our wedding
I am a wedding planner, so I knew the expectations would be high for our own wedding. We chose a historic Hawai'ian royal summer home for our ceremony at the Hulihe'e Palace, and had the reception at the venue where I plan weddings, at Daylight Mind Events. We had custom elements like macadamia nut favors grown on my husband's parents farm here on the big island, and dragon fruit cider from my husbands brewery, Ola Brew Co. We also served a whole roasted pig from our farm along with a custom menu provided by Daylight Mind Events, including avocado fries and a vegan curry.
I didn't want to our wedding to be completely feminine, so we stuck with a pallette of green with hints of pink, and made sure to get some shots of my husband and his groomsmen at the brewery, getting ready. The most important elements to us were the menu, the view, and the dance party, and our guests are still talking about those three things!
