19 Jun, 2021The story of our wedding
We met several years ago working together as attorneys in the court system. It took us several years to figure out we were meant to be more than colleagues. We got engaged in February of 2020, and e selected our wedding date soon over. I had worked in the wedding industry for 10 years as a DJ and saw how everything was being rescheduled to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so we planned and booked the entire event in about 2 months while in lockdown in Vermont. Just four days before our ceremony, our Governor lifted all of the remaining COVID-19 restrictions, which allowed us to celebrate in a normal fashion. For most of us, it was our first real event since the summer of 2019.
Our venue was Bliss Ridge in Moretown, Vermont. The owners live on the property, which is also a working farm, and were the first to get married on this beautiful property. The venue provided excellent coordination services, arranged all of the flowers, and even provided bar services, including a signature strawberry mojito.

The reception included coffee and hand sanitizer for favors. I DJ'd a little bit of the reception, we skipped rocks on the pond, and played some cornhole and pool. After the celebration was over, we retired to an incredible off-the-grid treehouse on the property to enjoy our first days as a married couple.
Having been born and raised in Vermont, this was the quintessential Vermont wedding I always wanted. If I were to relive a day over and over again, it would be this one.
