We had the absolute pleasure of having Derek Dube as our wedding officiant for our ceremony at The Commodore on Nagawicka Lake. From our first meeting, Derek's warmth, professionalism, and genuine enthusiasm for his role shone through.
Derek took the time to get to know us as a couple, ensuring that the ceremony was personalized and meaningful. He skillfully balanced humor and sentiment, creating a ceremony that was heartfelt and memorable for us and our guests. His ability to articulate our love story and incorporate our personalities into the vows made the moment incredibly special.

Couldn’t be happier!
Derek worked with us to make our wedding ceremony personal, beautiful and just right for us! After working with Derek throughout our wedding planning process and through our sessions in his Relationship Enhancement course, my husband and I both agree Derek feels more like a friend than just an officiant. We feel very equipped to start a healthy marriage after the tips we learned in the course, Derek is a great listener and really invests himself in the couples he works with. Derek was the perfect officiant for us. He took the time to get to know us as a couple and made us feel very comfortable. We knew after our fist meeting with him that he was who we wanted to marry us. Whenever I needed to contact him, he got back to me quickly. Even though we didn't have a rehearsal, he spoke with everyone on the day of the wedding, prior to the ceremony, and everything went smoothly. We invited him to stay for dinner and he mingled with our guests and was so gracious. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a wedding officiant.World of Wisdom Ministry's reply:

We hired Derek as our officiant for our wedding and absolutely loved working with him! Derek really is the full package and helped us plan our ceremony from start to finish. Derek had amazing attention to detail and was always very responsive and helpful while planning. He ran our rehearsal so well and got our whole wedding party to focus. For our rehearsal he noticed that we had a metal stand for our readers and he brought his wood podium for our actually wedding day which fit the vibe of our venue and looked so much better. My wife and I recently got married and had our ceremony officiated by Derek Dube from World of Wisdom Ministry. Words cannot begin to express our gratitude and satisfaction with Derek's services.
My wife and I originally interviewed several officiants who all tried to act as the "perfect" fit, but Derek is the only one that truly is. From our initial call with him, we could tell he was authentic and genuinely interested in getting to know us and learning more about our lives. That conversation was very informative, comfortable, and fun- we knew immediately that there was no other choice.
Following the call, Derek was was just as wonderful throughout the planning process. He is responsive, professional, and provides multiple resources to help prepare your wedding ceremony. We enjoyed building our ceremony with him and having the ability to make it personal to fit us.
On the day of, he is the best officiant because you already feel like you have been friends forever- he makes you feel very calm. We had several guests compliment his ceremony and mentioned that they enjoyed his blessing at our reception.

Wonderful Experience
My partner and I were looking for a wedding officiant to assist us with preparing a Christian ceremony for our upcoming wedding. We had researched a handful of officiants, but really it wasn't until we met Derek that we knew he was exactly who we should work with. Derek was a pleasure to work with. Very professional but also has a great sense of humor that helped tremendously the day of our wedding when I was feeling a little stressed out lol. Even though our wedding date was over a year and a half out from when we first contacted Derek, he was always there for us, and always checking in with us.
What I like most about him, was he let us do things our way, and did our ceremony just how we wanted.
Never once did he try and talk us into anything we didn't want to do. He has lots of good information, quick responses to emails, a just a great guy all around. I highly recommend and if I could give more than 5 stars I would. Absolutely amazing!!World of Wisdom Ministry's reply:

Derek was an amazing officiant for our wedding ceremony and we would absolutely work with him again if we had to redo our day! He was very responsive and provided us with so many options and examples for our ceremony. We picked one of his examples and added some parts from a different example in and created the perfect ceremony!
Our friends and family have raved about our ceremony and several people told us that it was the best ceremony they have experienced. We were told by our guests that they loved listening to Derek and the ceremony was so unique!

Derek was great. We met in person so he could get a feel for what kind of a ceremony we were hoping to have. He quickly emailed some general drafts for multiple styles of weddings. From those drafts we picked parts we liked, added in some of our own things. Derek looked over it and offered suggestions based on his experience while making it clear it was all up to us. Derek was exactly what we were looking for in an officiant!
My wife and I were in need of an officiant and had no idea of where to start to look for one. We searched around and came across weddingwire. From there we found Derek and read through some reviews. At that point we had a good initial gut feeling about him and scheduled a meeting with him. The meeting went great and we both felt very comfortable with how he handled himself and how organized he was. We knew he was the right fit so we decided to move forward with his services right away. The most important take away from his services was how helpful he was in helping plan the ceremony. He had a lot to offer in giving us plenty of options and direction, in turn removing a lot of the stress that normally comes with planning a wedding. The ceremony went exactly as planned and exceeded our expectations. He offers a very relaxing presence, a sense of humor, and a very kind personality. Derek was such a joy to work with. After our initial phone conversation, we were extremely pleased with his professionalism and the ease in which we were able discuss our wedding day with him. We did not have a specific vision for the ceremony, but luckily Derek was able to provide examples of readings, ceremonies, and shared drafts with us in time for us to reflect and personalize them. Blessing to us, he led us through every step of creating an amazing ceremony that was customized for us. He listen and responded with great suggestions and praised our ideas. Perfect Ceremony for our Perfect Day
Derek was great to work with! He was very responsive via email which worked out well for my husband and my busy schedule.
Derek provided us plenty of options for readings, unity ideas, and layouts for our ceremony.
He accommodated all of our requests including writing personal vows, having two readers and letting us have music during our unity ceremony. My husband and I wanted a semi-religious ceremony, and Derek was able to balance it perfectly.
Derek even helped us through the marriage license process which was a huge help!

Highly Recommend
At first, we were going to ask a family member to officiant our wedding to save some money, but then we realized that we needed someone who has done weddings before and has experience leading especially for the rehearsal and the day of. I contacted our venue to find out if they had any recommendations and Derek was one of the officiants they recommended. We are so glad we had Derek officiant our wedding. Unlike some of my other vendors, Derek was always so responsive which I loved! He also took time to get to know us personally and because of that, it felt like we had a family member officiant our wedding. When our rehearsal got rained out, he was able to meet us at our rehearsal dinner and practice in the small dinner hall we had reserved. Couldn’t Have Asked For Better!
I could explain in detail the headaches caused and hoops to go through that 2020 caused myself and my husband trying to get married…but at the end of the day and two weddings later (2020 and 2021): Derek was truly great to have as an officiant through both! He guided us through our vows and answered any questions we had. He was so flexible with what we did or didn’t want as part of our big day. Even the day of (2021), THIRTY MINUTES before the ceremony, he allowed me to change the location of the ceremony! (No questions asked, took charge of the group, and just rolled with it!) Finding an officiant that was just right for US proved to be more difficult than we expected; we both consider ourselves religious, Christian, but are not current members of any one Church. Derek Made Our Day!
We knew we wanted Derek to be our officiant within the first few minutes of meeting him. During our first meeting, throughout all planning interactions leading up to the day, and the day of the wedding, he was genuine, friendly, and patient. He easily made conversation with everyone he encountered, kept me calm in-between rain showers, dressed nicely, and provided the calming demeanor I needed in the absence of a father/brother there for me. We were able to customize our own personalized ceremony using the resources/examples that Derek provided. We were able to inject religious aspects into the ceremony where we wanted and lean towards a more secular aspects where we wanted. There were no rules! You will absolutely not regret having Derek as your officiant.World of Wisdom Ministry's reply:

Derek was genuinely enthusiastic about his part in our wedding. We could tell he really cared about making our wedding ceremony perfect for us. We had no idea how many details went into the ceremony. Derek sent us multiple examples of ceremony formats, readings, vows, entrance songs - essentially everything we didn't know we needed to choose. He made the wedding ceremony exactly what we wanted.
Derek was very easy to work with. He was very responsive and made sure we were on top of everything and prepared for the wedding day. Overall our experience with Derek was great and we would highly recommend him.World of Wisdom Ministry's reply:

Derek was such a great fit for our ceremony! We wanted a slightly religious experience, but didn't want our guests of many faiths to feel uncomfortable. Derek helped us plan the perfect ceremony that was just what we wanted!

Derek was so kind and helpful with organizing our ceremony. He gave us many options to choose from in preparation of creating our ceremony and let us pick & choose what suited us best.
