Excellent Venue for a Fall Wedding

We got married at Woldumar on October 14th, and had a wonderful experience. Some of the highlights for us were:

1. The beautiful decorations in the reception barn, while still having plenty of space for personalized touches.
2. The professionalism of the staff, answering any questions, making sure our tables and chairs were set up right, and working hard to fix any unexpected issues the day-of.
3. The bridal getting-ready suite, which was plenty large enough for a 6-person bridal party.
4. Having the outdoor deck space available for guests to use during the cocktail hour and reception
5. We were originally planning to have the ceremony outside at the amphitheater, but moved it into the reception barn because of the weather. It worked perfectly, and having a rain backup is a must for any outdoor wedding in Michigan!
6. Knowing that the extremely reasonable booking costs are supporting the wonderful work of the nature center.

We had ~110 guests, which felt like the perfect amount to fit comfortably inside and have plenty of room to enjoy the space. Overall, we'd recommend Woldumar for any future events!

Helpful and accommodating

Victoria met with us nearly 2 years ago to book our wedding. She was so helpful when we needed to push the date out a year and I'm so glad she's back. She is excellent at keeping us updated and making sure we have all the information needed. The packages changes slightly after we booked and She was more then willing to make sure our original package was honored. She helped light candles day of which was a small detail for her but a huge one for us and our guests.

Amazing venue with top notch support

When we started to plan our wedding, we gave ourselves a bit of a challenge. First, we would only have three months. And second, we'd need to plan most of it from California. Woldumar really came through for us. And I have to say that Victoria was especially amazing. She helped on so many levels, pointing us to great vendors, answering about a million questions, filming a video of the venue for us, even helping clear paths in the forest when a storm blew through and caused a lot of damage in the area. Also, the grounds and the barn are really beautiful. I feel like half of our decoration job was figuring out the best way to use the natural beauty that was already there. Choose Woldumar. You won't regret it.

Wonderful wedding venue!

We got married at Woldumar in summer of 2023 and we had a great experience. Victoria (the hospitality manager) did a great job helping us get everything setup according to our specifications and the space is beautiful. We did our ceremony at Walnut Glen, the outdoor amphitheater and it was so beautiful and special. You do need to bring your own arbor/arch to get married out there, but they provided a nice podium for the officiant to use. We did our reception in the barn and it was gorgeous. All the lights on the ceiling were so romantic and whimsical. Be prepared to sweat if you're getting married in the heat of summer like we did, but overall this place is so special (and affordable) the sweat is worth it.

Just what we needed

We were looking for a low key but pretty venue, and this was exactly it. The barn is a beautiful backdrop, and a blank canvas to decorate just how you want it. We had to move our ceremony inside and it worked great even with that.

We got lots of compliments from the guests on the space and how well it held our crowd of about 120. There was plenty of room for a band, we just moved a few tables to expand the dance floor later.

Victoria was fantastic to work with-- super flexible and made sure everything was how we wanted it on the day. She's also doing a great job making little updates to the barn, the bridal room in particular is so cute and has plenty of room to get ready. The updates are really bringing out the potential so this spot is only getting better with time.

They're open to pretty much any caterer/bartender, which helped a lot with budget and let us have exactly what we wanted for dinner. Overall, a great choice!

I cannot recommend Woldumar Nature Center enough! Victoria is an absolute dream to work with and every aspect of planning our wedding with her has been seamless! We, unfortunately, had to cancel due to COVID-19 and they were so understanding and graciously refunded our deposit! While we are sad we had to cancel right now, we will absolutely be using them in the future for a rescheduled wedding! Their flexibility, reasonable pricing, gorgeous grounds are enough to make anyone want to book here but the added bonus is the support of the nature center! LOVE them!

Perfect October Wedding

We had a beautiful Woldumar wedding on 10/10/2020! We were so worried with COVID restrictions being unpredictable, but everything worked out great! Woldumar managed to give us the wedding we wanted while enforcing COVID restrictions. The nature center was beautiful in the fall. So many great spots for wedding photos! Our guest list was small enough to hold our reception in the barn, and we were very happy with how everything looked inside. The staff of Woldumar are very helpful and really made sure everything went smooth. Especially Victoria, who is really great to work with. We would highly recommend this venue!

This venue is magical

The venue is beautiful and Victoria has so kind and helpful with every question we had and every problem we came across. With covid-19 a lot of obstacles came up and we were able to work through everything with the help of the staff here. The photo tour takes you to all different parts of the nature center and makes for gorgeous wedding photos. Truly the wedding of my dreams

12-14-19 wedding

Our wedding was beautiful. We brought minimal decorations since the barn itself is so beautiful. Victoria was really helpful and helped us flip our ceremony for the reception. We had so much fun!! So glad we went with woldumar. Since we got married in December it was also so inexpensive!

Perfect DIY outdoor venue

My husband and I struggled to find a venue that would not cost a ton but would still be pretty. Woldumar seemed to check all boxes for us - it was a bit more work as I decided to decorate and plan the wedding myself but it was much cheaper this way. Being able to choose whatever caterer/bartender you want really helped us. The barn was hot in September so be prepared for that. Otherwise a perfect venue for our DIY wedding.

This was my dream wedding come true!! Victoria was so helpful, always there to answer my questions. This venue is absolutely perfect for an outdoor ceremony and the reception in the barn was beautiful! We used saddleback BBQ and the food was delicious. The cake was from Courtney's cake closet. Again amazing! Wedding white and red velvet. Flowers from costco and thebouqs.com. I wish I could do this day all over again

Winter wedding

It was very beautiful winter wedding there at Woldumar! Victoria is very kind and flexible to help us out!! We were worried to have the wedding in the winter time but it actually turned to a beautiful snow wedding. The barn was very warm and cozy. There are many nice places to take photos too.

Rob and Lizz Nowak’s wedding

Woldumar hosted our beautiful wedding. It was the absolute most perfect venue. So much natural beauty and very little needed to be done to make it the perfect place for our big night. All of our guests commented on how perfect of a venue it was. Victoria went the extra mile in helping in anyway she could and always making herself available.

My daughter got married at Woldumar in June. The ceremony was in the amphitheater and the reception in the main barn. It was a beautiful and flawless event! We were incredibly pleased with Victoria! If you are looking for a rustic barn wedding, I highly recommend Woldumar. Victoria was very helpful throughout the whole planning process. She answered all of my questions. The venue is just beautiful. We saved a ton on decorations as not much is needed.

Victoria was absolutely amazing! We had seven weeks to plan our wedding and she made our experience so much easier to handle. The day of the wedding she even came over early and set up our linens and pictures for us! The venue is absolutely beautiful! Having a second floor for kids to play and extra room for vendors was very convenient. Victoria built a wonderful relationship with us, and if we could do it all over again we wouldn’t change a thing about it, except for our alcohol services they were awful. We highly recommend having your event at Woldumar. <3

Woldumar was great! Victoria was always responsive and her staff the weekend of the wedding were great! The staff was always around for any questions. I would definitely recommend this venue to nature lovers looking for a low key venue. You will want to have helpers with your set up and take down of decorations. My family and friends were extremely helpful, so this venue worked great for us. We did the extra services package for the rehearsal dinner onsite, extra set up time on Friday, and extra take down time on Sunday. We received many compliments from guests on how great the nature center and really fit us. I loved our ceremony site at Walnut Glen. The use of the golfcart for my grandma was greatly appreciated to get her to and from the ceremony site.

Woldumar was great! Victoria was always responsive and her staff the weekend of the wedding were great! The staff was always around for any questions. I would definitely recommend this venue to nature lovers looking for a low key venue. You will want to have helpers with your set up and take down of decorations. My family and friends were extremely helpful, so this venue worked great for us. We did the extra services package for the rehearsal dinner onsite, extra set up time on Friday, and extra take down time on Sunday. We had our wedding at Woldumar last weekend and loved it. We had so many compliments from our guests. The ceremony was at Walnut Glen Amphitheater. My dress had a train and I didn't want wood chips stuck in it, so we put an aisle runner down the trail to the wooden platform and it worked out well- we were able to leave the aisle runner there the whole day until the ceremony in the early evening. We also had some older folks and were able to bring a couple chairs down to the site so they didn't have to sit on the benches. We had the reception in RE Olds Barn. It came with twinkle lights and paper lanterns so we didn't have to worry about a lot of other decorations. Victoria, the wedding coordinator, took us on a photo golf cart tour of the property (lasting about an hour) and it was the best part of the day. Victoria knew all of the beautiful spots for pictures. Victoria was very personable and friendly. Our bridal party enjoyed working with her.

The Nature Center is non-profit and is not around just for weddings, so if you are okay with doing a lot of the work yourself this is one amazing place to hold a wedding. My husband and I just got married at Woldumar last week and it was AMAZING! Everything looked so beautiful. We live in Los Angeles and Kevin and Lauren made planning the wedding so much easier. They were quick to respond to any questions I had and when we were in town were accommodating any time we wanted to come look at the site again. Their crew set everything up exactly how we wanted and even the night security was great! It rained on my wedding and we couldn't use the Walnut Glen location like we had wanted but the barn was amazing for both the wedding and reception. And after the ceremony, when the rain cleared, Kevin took my husband and I and our photographer around to some gorgeous sites for photos. It's an amazing property and I would not only come back just to hike or enjoy the site I would recommend it to any future bride looking for an awesome location!
