  Fun, and whimsical

  The shop was clean and beautiful. Madison was my consultant. She was professional, and understood what I was Looking for. This experience was wonderful!

  This boutique is AMAZING!!

  Maiya at Winnie Couture is AMAZING!! She was very organized and detailed oriented. She explained my options very well and I didn't feel rushed. I even tried on my two favorites twice. I had a great group with me and she made sure everyone was included and taken care of. She is very attentive and good at what she does. Hands down this was THE BEST dress shopping experience I've had. I went to one store prior to and one store after just to make sure and again hands down the other experiences didn't compare. Being a first time bride I was nervous that I would have no clue as to what I would like or what world look good on my shape. Maiya helped me out so much and made my experience very simple and fun. We had lots of laughs, tears of joy and excitement from one dress to the next. The designer had so many beautiful gowns it made it hard to choose. I'm glad we decided on Winnie Couture and even more thankful to work with Maiya. I'm still so EXCITED

  Best experience ever!

  Madison, Miaya, and Amanda are true gems! They made my dress purchasing experience easy breezy. They took care of all of my needs and wants from the beginning to the last steaming of my dress. I could't thank these ladies enough for the care! The Charlotte Winnie Couture experience was a true dream come true.

  The Perfect Gown

  I really don’t like dress shopping. My experience was great and I fell in love with so many dresses here. Madison put me at ease and let me try on different styles. I did not feel rushed and I had the area to myself to take photos. I was able to make a decision and the flexibility was wonderful. Madison who is the manager went above and beyond. Amanda was another great and comforting help! They were sweet and patient. When I was apprehensive about something, they had solutions. I love these girls. A special touch is the hugs that they give at the end!

  I'm a winnie bride I said yes!

  I'm so grateful I called winnie couture, I went out dress shopping one day and was very unsatisfied with Custom service. I was little intimidated to call up to winnie couture because of the location and I just knew that I would probably have to spend over 3/4 thousand dollars for a dress and I honestly didn't have that kind of money. I set up the appointment got to the bridal place and was just overwhelmed by the great customer service provided by Madison and Mayia. They asked all important questions and I found the dressed I dreamed of wearing they made everything smooth sailing. The price wasn't as bad as I thought and with the service that was given it was worth every Penny

  I absolutely love my dress. When I first walked in the Charlotte store and seen the dress I had no idea that was going to be the one. Taylor did an amazing job assisting me. She is very knowledgeable and has a great personality. Thank you for all your help Taylor!!!

  I am so happy to be a Winnie bride! Winnie was my first of three stops when I looked for my wedding dress, and it blew the other places away! The ladies working there are so friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. The dress selection is amazing and I love that you can pre-select dresses online that you want to try on. The store itself is girly but elegant and you truly feel special from the minute you walk in. My dress came in early too, after 4 months instead of the 6 months I was told to expect, so that was a pleasant surprise. I would HIGHLY recommend Winnie Couture to any bride in Charlotte - or other cities! My matron of honor got her dress from Winnie Couture in Atlanta and had an equally great experience!

  My experience with Winnie Couture could not have been better! I had done a lot of research online (Pinterest) and magazines, but still wasn't really sure what I wanted. Being able to look at their dresses before my appointment was SO helpful and the store is amazing - beautiful, comfortable, and clean. Amber was my stylist and I'm so thankful - she was perfect. She was polite, patient, and helpful without being pushy. I came with a crowd of 7 people and she was so friendly and welcoming! She's got a great intuition about her- after watching/listening to me during the first few dresses I tried on, she totally got me. She goes out of her way - getting down on the ground and kneeling to turn or fold the train so I can really "see" what the style would look like. Even though Amber was my stylist, the other girls in the shop that day were equally as friendly - becoming engaged in my session without overwhelming me with too many people. Winnie was only the second store I went to and I left to check out FIVE other places - mostly because I felt bad my friends and family traveled in for this fun shopping day and it was going to end with me selecting my dress so early. Amber was so kind to us. At the end of the day - nothing compared ... I saw great dresses, but not "my" dress and we definitely didn't have the experience of Winnie at any other shops (my mom and friends agreed). More importantly, the great service didn't stop after I paid for my dress. I was always getting updates on the process of my dress and Amber offered to steam it for me and give me recommendations for alterations and preservation shops! Thank you!

  I went into Winnie not really expecting to find my dress. But Amber, my stylist, was amazing and seemed to learn my style and taste within minutes. After putting on a couple of dresses we went back to the top three choices for a second time. You know it is the perfect dress when everyone starts tearing up! Amber added all the details like the veil and jewelry to my dress and that just solidified what I knew the first time I put on the dress, that is was the one. Thank you Amber and everyone at Winnie for helping me find my perfect one of a kind wedding dress!

  I’m so lucky I found Winnie Couture to make the dress of my dreams. They customized the measurements to my body for the perfect fit and even changed the lining as I requested. Only thing they could add is a seamstress on location.

  Loved my experience at Winnie. I found my dress here after going to 5 places. Amber was my stylist and she did a great job.

  I ordered my dress from Winnie Couture and while it was beautiful, there are a couple of things that I didn't love about the experience: 1) The dress is supposed to be 'custom made' for each person, however when I asked for them to not include a strand of jewels around the bodice - this cost $150. I still don't understand why if the dress is being 'custom made' it needs to cost any more to simply not stitch a strand of jewels on. At the time I just wanted to make a decision so I agreed to this, but I still don't understand it. 2) They measured the dress to fit me in length wearing 3 inch heels which I took into consideration when shoe shopping. However, when I got the dress, I really needed 2 inch heels - again, not a huge deal, I just had to return the shoes I originally found and begin the hunt for a lower heel... but if this was truly 'custom made', I don't understand why this wasn't perfect. 3) The dress had 1.5 inch thick lace straps and one was 2 inches longer than the other... when I went to get the dress altered, they were extremely surprised that such a nice dress had such poor construction for a 'custom made' dress. They, of course, were able to pull up the longer strap and fix it so that no one would know, but it was just surprising for such a nice dress.
  
  Overall - I liked my dress a lot, but feel that for the price and the constant reminder how customized the dress is for each bride, i feel that there shouldn't have been so many issues. I would recommend the designer to a friend, but with these comments to consider.

  Buy somewhere else

  I bought my wedding dress from Winnie Couture just last week (July 2025), and I want to share my honest experience.
  
  Pros:
  
  • They have a wide selection of beautiful dresses.
  • Most designs are quite similar, but they’re all elegant and well-made.
  • The store has a nice, comfortable seating area for your friends and family to join you.
  • When you try on dresses, you step onto a small elevated platform so your guests can see you clearly and take it all in.
  
  Cons:
  
  • No mirrors in the fitting rooms. They claim this is for your benefit, but it’s frustrating because they clamp the dress onto you—meaning you never get to see the back. I was specifically looking for a low-back dress and was told the one I picked matched my vision, but I never got to see it for myself.
  • Dishonest sales practices, especially by Alyssa Thao at the Selwyn Charlotte location. She came off as sweet but was incredibly misleading. She upsold me into buying extra shoulder straps without ever telling me that the dress already came with them. I didn’t find this out until I came back to pick up the dress and finally saw the full design. When I brought it up, she blamed me, saying the original straps were “on the table” and that it was my fault for not noticing them.
  • Management was no help. I reported the dishonest sale, but they kept brushing it aside. They wouldn’t take responsibility and said they had to “escalate it to corporate”—which you can’t contact directly. They refused to give a full refund, even though I never had taken the straps home.
  
  Final Verdict: DO NOT BUY HERE.
  
  I expected better, and I’m thoroughly disappointed in their lack of integrity.
