Thank You so Much- a great time was had by all.
I just want to say thank you to Dan and all the staff at East Mountain Inn. They went all out to ensure my daughter's wedding met her expectations.
Long story short, we had contracted with another venue over a year in advance. Due to a number of different issues that arose, we (the families) all felt a change in venue was needed. I spoke with Dan and explained the situation. Despite having less than an 8 week window to make all the arrangements, he assured me they could pull it off. We signed the contract and are so happy we did.
Dan met with my wife and daughter a few times over the next few weeks and straightened out all the details. (decorations/ menu/ etc.)
Out of town quests were able to easily secure rooms, something the previously chosen hotel had difficulty with. (They outsourced their reservations to a call center. This caused great confusion. At times quests were told they had no record of a wedding that weekend).
On the day of the wedding, Dan and the staff were professional, polite and worked very hard to make sure my daughter's special day went according to plan. The food was hot, fresh and very good. Everyone had a great time and raved about what a great job the staff did, especially knowing the time constraints we were under.
I would highly recommend the East Mountain Inn to anyone seeking a venue for this type of occasion.
To Dan and all the staff; I cannot thank you all enough.

Kudos to Daniel and The Holiday Inn Wilkes Barre East Mountain
I am just writing to let you know that you did a fabulous job with Jade and Korey's wedding on June 9, 2024. We couldn't have asked for anything better. You were so helpful and accommodating throughout the entire planning until the end of the reception.
The chef did an awesome job with the food preparations. Many of the guests commented on how delicious the food was. Paul and I totally agreed.
As for the servers and clean up employees did a great job as well. They were friendly and polite.
We couldn't have asked for anything better for Jade and Korey's wedding. We rated employees and Holiday Inn facilities at a 10.
Hope our path crosses again.

Planned my wedding in 2 months!
Bri and the whole staff at Holiday Inn- East Mountain were very flexible and helpful! I started my wedding planning 2 months before I was looking to have it and I loved the one stop shop that came with the venue. They had center pieces, table numbers, cake knife and server, table linens... EVERYTHING! Not to mention the beautiful outdoor ceremony/cocktail hour area and amazing food/drinks which was also included! I could not have pulled this wedding off at any other venue! -

Mrs. Cokely
I had my wedding there on June 22, 2019. It was absolutely perfect. The venue was extremely clean amd organized. The food was delicious. All of the staff was very happy, helpful, courteous, and very well mannered. Every member of the staff at the hotel came and congratulated my husband and I which was super nice.
Our wedding consultant Bri. Kern was absolutely amazing. There are not enough words to describe this girl. Truly amazing and attentive. She has a glowing personality. Everyone of our guests thought she was amazing. She honestly made our wedding perfect absolutely perfect!! If we had a question for her she would have an answer for us in no time at all. She would definitely get way higger than a 5 star rating from us!!!!

Beautiful venue
This venue was absolutely amazing. Mandy and Shirley were personable, professional and easy to work with. Mandy was prompt in her email responses and very knowledgeable as to how to make our day special for us and our guests. They set everything up for us that day and it looked better than I even envisioned. The food was delicious and our guests loved having everything in the same location. I highly recommend this venue! -

Where do I even begin. I loved working with Mandy on the Sales team. She was fantastic. When I had a question or just needed to get in touch with her, she was very responsive and helpful. Everything that comes from a wedding package at the Holiday Inn - East Mountain is worth it. Along with the room and catering, your cake is included in your package as well as a complimentary wedding night stay in the bridal suite, which has amazing views of the Wyoming Valley. The week of the wedding was a breeze because of the amazing wedding team. On our wedding day, from Mandy all the way down to the waitstaff, everyone made sure that my husband and I didn't have to lift a finger for anything. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and secluded. You almost forget that you are in Wilkes-Bare and just off the highway. I could go on and on about how perfect our day was, but it was all made possible by Mandy and her team. -

We were recently married here and we have nothing but good to say about the entire venue. The grounds for the ceremony were gorgeous, the veranda was set up perfect for cocktail hour, the reception hall atmosphere was beautiful, and each part of the night transitioned seamlessly from one to the next. The food was phenomenal and the beverage service was fast. The bridal suite balcony had an outstanding view and the room was big and clean. I can't speak highly enough about Mandy, she was very easy to work with and a huge help to us. This is a wedding venue gem in this area, It's an outstanding value and you get every penny's worth from them. -

We celebrated our wedding reception at the Holiday Inn-East Mountain. My husband and I still get compliments on the food and the venue itself. For the price, service and value, the Holiday Inn cannot be beat. We had our cocktail hour outside, but guests were allowed inside the bar area, due the weather being slightly chilly that day. Mandy and staff answered our emails and questions quickly and had tons of suggested when we needed them for other vendors, when needed. The whole process in picking out food and package options was super simple! I would not hesitate to recommend this venue! -

Our daughter Gina and son-in-law Mike were married at and held their reception at EMI. First, and most important, the food is excellent. The venue itself and accommodations are beautiful. And the waitstaff and management are truly excellent. Special kudos to Mandy, our wedding/reception coordinator; Lauren, waitstaff manager; and the waitstaff who danced and served the guests so joyously. We can highly recommend EMI for a great wedding reception experience. -

My husband and I got married this past weekend 9.24.16 and we could not have had our wedding in a better place. The hotel was beautiful, reception hall was perfect, ceremony and grounds were amazing. The staff could not have been better! Mandy, Shirley, Nadine, Front end staff, Bistro staff, servers, Housekeeping...everyone was friendly, helpful, and so professional! Their attention to my small details and delicacy with all of my planning fills me with gratitude. Our guests raved about how beautiful it was, how delicious the food was, and the hotel itself (pool, jacuzzi, and SHUTTLE to casino) ! I would highly recommend the Holiday Inn - East Mountain! We wish we could do it all over again! Our wedding was Perfect! -

The absolute best place to have your wedding reception! Everyting was perfect! The ballroom was gorgeous! It looked better than I could have ever imagined. Mandy is wonderful to work with. She makes sure you get the wedding of you dreams and was always quick to respond to any questions I had. I will actually miss working together with her. My guests are still raving about everything; from how beautiful everything was, to the delicious food, and the friendly staff. I highly recommend having any event here as I also had the best bridal shower ever there as well. An absolute must for the perfect wedding day! -

I had my perfect wedding reception at the Holiday Inn Wilkes Barre - East Mountain on 10/10/15. Sales Manager, Mandy Loeffler handled every detail. She communicated VIA e-mail quickly which was extremely important to me because I was an out-of-town bride. She honestly helped me every step of the way from 12 months out to 1 month out, etc. I worked with her to rent the table linens. I also got a delicious wedding cake that came with the package. The food was overall absolutely delicious. Also, we had our happy hour outside on that beautiful patio. I would totally recommend that to any bride who has a wedding in the fall(luckily the weather cooperated).
If I could go back and plan my wedding from scratch knowing what I know now, I would pick the Holiday Inn Wilkes Barre - East Mountain again. No question about it. I had no stress during the reception. -

We recently had our rehearsal dinner, wedding cocktail hour and reception at the Holiday Inn- East Mountain on July 4, 2015! What EXCEPTIONAL service we received from Mandy and the rest of the staff at the Holiday Inn - East Mountain! Weeks after the wedding we are still receiving compliments at how wonderful our wedding was and how gorgeous the banquet room was that day! Mandy and the entire rest of the staff were so professional and courteous to everyone and helped us out with so many of the details for the wedding day. The Holiday Inn - East Mountain is by far the BEST venue to have a wedding at !!! We wouldn't have had it any other way! They took great care of us from beginning to end.

We felt very comfortable reaching out to Mandy with any questions we had along the way. She went out of her way to make us feel completely at ease with how our day there would go. We had an amazing wedding at the East Mountain Inn. Everyone was so easy to work with and really made our day feel special. The staff was very responsive and flexible even with some unique requests we had leading up to the wedding. They were very mindful of the weather and how it would affect us, the food, and the guests and had so many back-up plans we knew we wouldn't have to worry. The grounds were beautiful and great for picture-taking. We couldn't have asked for nicer people to work with for our big day. Everything ran so smoothly. The banquet manager even dressed in our wedding colors!
The only downside was that the ceremony site can only hold 60-75 chairs, so we had to ask our younger guests to stand. It worked out fine since our ceremony was not incredibly long but when we first booked, that made us nervous. Everything worked out just fine. -

I had my entire wedding including the ceremony at the Holiday Inn. Mandy and the sales office team were great to deal with from our first meeting to the day of our wedding. They answered all my questions and took care of all my concerns. Karen the food service manager was great the day of my wedding. We had a few last minute special needs and she was quick to take care of them. The hotel staff in general were awesome. From the from desk to the wait staff and even the house keeping staff were a pleasure to deal with. The food was excellent and even my guests complimented us on it. They made our wedding as stress free as possible which allowed us to enjoy our special day. I would highly recommend having any type of event at the Holiday Inn East Mountain. -

Making dreams come true!
The hoilday inn east mountain went above and beyond for our wedding! When we were venue shopping, it was a no brainer to book with them! They included almost everything in their price it was honestly one stop shopping! They included the ceremony arch, the cocktail hour, reception with an open bar, supplied the food, cake, cake cutting, center pieces, toasting glass, Linens, glassware everything! Their team also set up our decorations, coordinated the whole day and provided amazing service to our guests and family! My out of town guests even had a discounted rate through our event! If your looking for a stress free wedding day and to get the most bang for your buck, The holiday inn east mountain is your place! I am still reliving the amazing day they created for us and honestly wish I can live that day over and over again because of them! Thank you Hoilday Inn for all you do!!-

Everything about the wedding experience for my daughter was on point! The wedding planner for the hotel is a professional who is both experienced and so congenial that it makes the whole affair seamless! The support staff is fantastic and works like a well oiled team! The atmosphere was beautiful, down to earth and elegant all at the same time. Originally, I questioned this venue with an expected 150 guests..but now after the experience, I would recommend them for a small wedding to a large one. -

My only complaint is that dinner took too long to be served. My reception started at 6pm and dinner wasn’t served until 7:30. Now, there may have been reasons for it coming out so late, however, it cut our time on the dance floor short and we had to rush the father/daughter and mother/son dances. -

Why are there not more reviews on Holiday Inn/ EMI? We booked EMI in May 2014 for our Halloween 2014 wedding. Mandy from the sales office was VERY responsive from my first email inquiry, to our first meeting at EMI to tour the venue, to the numerous phone calls the day of our wedding. She seems to be always available and always there to answer any question from the color of their napkins to how many people are able to fit at a table. This is one of the reasons I booked with EMI, great first impression and attention to detail. I was apprehensive about my wedding being at a Holiday Inn, given the HI reputation, but I swear ladies, they will NOT disappoint you. The staff at this hotel is top notch and made sure every little detail of our day was perfect. Both Mandy and Karen make a GREAT team and worked well together to ensure a very smooth day for everyone involved. They took the time to coordinate with all our vendors from our cake delivery, DJ, linens, and everything in between. I walked in to the ballroom the day of my wedding and I could not believe what I saw- they surpassed whatever vision I had in my head and really brought everything to life. Their added touches were amazing and I could not thank them enough for making our day so memorable. Please check out the newly remodeled EMI, I swear for the quality, price, staff, and their attention to detail, you will so happy you did! -

All-in-all, we are thrilled we had our ceremony & reception at East Mountain Inn. Mandy helped us organize all aspects of the wedding. She is lovely, warm & accommodating. We planned the entire wedding from afar, as we live in Chicago. We ran into some miscommunication over email but our few in person meetings when we were in town usually cleared up any confusion. Mandy was super flexible in meeting with us since we were only in town a few times the year before the wedding. EMI does a lot for the price--they make the center pieces, decorate the ballroom, & include your wedding cake. The ballroom was decorated perfectly. The food was unbelievably good. The venue accommodated dietary restrictions, including vegans & an onion allergy! The waitstaff was almost part of the party-even hitting the dance floor. We are still hearing compliments a month later. The outdoor space for the ceremony is breathtaking. Unfortunately, the venue had not done a mic check prior to the ceremony, & the speaker was improperly set up. Only the first few rows could hear the ceremony-- a major disappointment. Mandy did contact us after the wedding & provided a heartfelt apology & a complimentary two night stay for the trouble. After the ceremony, we were directed inside for a private cocktail period while our guests had cocktails outside. We are glad we got to taste some of the hors d’ouvres, but this is the only time the venue allowed for photos & we think it would have been helpful to have a staff member present to help move things along. We only had 45 minutes for our photos & we didn’t get all that we had planned. Our bridal suite was stunning & our hotel guests found the rooms very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast the next morning was delicious & varied. We don't think we could have picked a better place to have our wedding, even given the mishaps. If we could go back in time we would still pick EMI--just make sure they do a mic check! ;) Thank you Mandy & staff. It was magical. -

After a couple of mishaps along the way - the East Mountain Inn was a lovely venue & our wedding day was perfect. The hotel services were delightful and the guests were thrilled with the accommodations (which included an awesome breakfast everyday). The caterers were very willing to make changes to the menu to suit your needs & the food was REALLY good the day of!! The reason I gave 4.7 stars is because we did have some initial trouble with our tasting and because we were traveling in from out of town miscommunications seemed to happen more often. Overall - I would certainly recommend - the lessons I learned were to make sure to be clear about what you want because everyone is MORE than willing to work with you & keep yourself organized so that the day of your wedding will be a dream come true (with NO stress) like ours! We are coming up on 1 year now and we will be staying at the East Mountain Inn for another wedding near our anniversary - really looking forward to it! Good Luck -

Its been nearly 2 years since our wedding in May 2015, and we are still SO glad we picked East Mountain Holiday Inn for our venue. From the very start Mandy was extremely helpful and always available when we needed her. The day of the wedding things got a little crazy because of how large our wedding was, but every single person that attended our reception was over the moon with how beautiful everything was. The food was phenomenal, drinks were flowing, and the accommodations we received as the bride and groom was exceptional. Absolute best value and service in NEPA. -

My husband is in the military and the east mountain inn was absolutely wonderful working with out ever changing schedule. I changed the date at least twice before we knew exactly when he would be home. I can't say enough good things about the staff there. Very kind and considerate and willing to help in any way they can. -

The outside setting for both the ceremony and cocktail hour was excellent. A great location for having a wedding outside weather permitting. However, if it is raining or very cold out, the ceremony will have to take place inside the dining hall divided by a partition so the atmosphere and aesthetics will take a bit of a hit. So keep that in mind when planning.
Fortunately for us, the weather was excellent on our wedding day and we were able to utilize the outside space which provided great atmosphere and aesthetics for the night. Having everything in one location was also convenient for planning and for guests. The outside area in the back worked well for both the outside ceremony and a nice location for wedding pictures.
Friendly staff and a lot of choice variety for appetizers and main course meals with various package deals.

Wedding 9/4/22
If it weren’t for Shirley and Will, I would give the rating much lower. Unfortunately the company was bought out so the original event planner, Maureen, left a year before our wedding. Pamela was the new sales manager and it was very difficult to get things done. I had to reach out multiple times just to meet her and make sure she had prior decisions on hand.
The first huge issue was my bridal shower— there were black linens being ordered (my colors were white and gold). This issue wasn’t fully Pamela, due to it being signed off on by a family member. But When we tried asking for the correct linen color, it was very difficult to get it fixed. She told us she was unable to place an order to Dempsey because it was a week prior and if we wanted to contact them we would need to do it ourselves. This is not how linen company’s work- a random person can’t call a company who uses contracts for placing orders. Thankfully my husband worked with them previously and was able to contact someone to place the order— even they said it was ridiculous Pamela would not call them. They have priority orders for a reason and that’s all she needed to request. After all the stress of calling and getting it figured out— the invoice was given to Pamela and we paid it. We asked for it several times and still do not have it. But after all of that— my shower day comes and it was amazing thanks to my bridesmaids for decorating & shocker— Pamela did not show her face or check in once to see how things were going or if we needed anything. I did see her peeking through the kitchen window, so she was there but didn’t want to talk to me apparently.
There was about 3 months between shower day and wedding day to finalize everything. An issue we had was being told that several things weren’t going to be done or were different than what Maureen had told us. For the linens, she wanted to charge us $1 per napkin to get a color (did not end up happening because we had prior emails confirming we would not be charged), we wanted chocolate covered strawberries which also did not happen (was not told of this until a week prior) because they were “out of season”. This would have been fine if she didn’t state during one of our meetings that she would be doing chocolate mousse regardless.
Another thing mentioned during a meeting was that several other weddings she was doing had issues— we didn’t get specifics, but please do not say something like this during a stressful time. She tended to focus on changes the company was experiencing and complained during our meetings, it was quite uncomfortable and not professional.
At one point we were sending multiple emails for a week, she finally gets back to me saying she was out with a sore throat (okay that’s fine). Another week goes by with more emails finalizing our menu, guest count, etc. and she is now out with Covid. I’m unsure of a company where emails aren’t covered when you are out, especially when it’s a big event such as a wedding. But that’s fine, we made sure all details were there and shouldn’t have been any issues. She sends me a response, confirming the details and asking when we would be dropping off our decorations (at this point it was 2 weeks prior to the wedding), we said we would be there 3 days prior with everything and she said she would be there for me to explain where each item needed to be placed. We show up and she is not there, I left a voicemail stating everything was dropped off and to call me back to discuss anything she had questions on. Will Called me back (two times) and was more help than Pamela ever was. He assured me that everything would be perfect and even though he hasn’t done weddings in a bit, he would make sure there was no issues. He and Shirley (food and beverage manager) stepped up and helped us tremendously for rehearsal and day of the wedding. They checked in with me several times during setup- making sure everything was how we wanted it. I could not imagine a more perfect day thanks to them. My husband and I are very thankful for them stepping up and taking over the planning/ setup.
Thank you again to Will and Shirley!!-

Absurdly bad communication
If it weren't for the hard work by Shirley and the wait staff and the good food by Chef Chris, this would be a 1 star review because of the absolutely horrific communication that made planning our simple wedding a nightmare. I really hope new brides are reading the newest reviews on this place because it has clearly gone downhill.
Throughout the two years it took between the booking of this venue and our wedding day, we went through three different wedding coordinators. First was Maureen. She seemed very professional and seemed to know what she was doing. We had some minor concerns after we had to send the contract back multiple times because they were going to charge us more than had been discussed. They also held a bridal expo which said right in the invitation you can bring two guests for free, but when we got there with our mothers they were charging all the guests admission until I showed the email. But everything else was going smoothly so we didn't question it.
Then Maureen left, and Pam replaced her. I'll try not to go into too much detail about Pam, because I could write a novel. Long story short, her communication skills were absolutely terrible. I would have to send multiple emails to get a response. I would ask three questions and only get an answer to one. But worst of all, Pam had forgotten to schedule two major dates with the venue: our meal tasting and our rehearsal the night before our wedding. Both times, she tried to blame us for these miscommunications before I showed her the emails where we had confirmed a date and time. For our tasting, we drove from Bloomsburg to Wilkes Barre only to arrive and find out that no one was prepared for us and we had to reschedule the tasting. Thankfully for the rehearsal, I found out with enough notice that it had never been put in the calendar (and this was well after the tasting incident, so clearly no effort had been made to correct these huge mistakes). Shortly after that, Pam quit. This was one month before our wedding.
Then, Pam's supervisor took over. Her name is Sundy, and at first it seemed like she was going to make things right. And I understand that she must have been very overwhelmed after having to suddenly take over all these weddings because of Pam leaving. But unfortunately, Sundy was also unreliable. The day before the wedding, we found out that Sundy had completely messed up our seating chart. One of my bridesmaids had to sit with her for hours to make sure everyone was seated in the right places and matched the signs we had made. We also found out after the wedding that Sundy had been talking to our family/friends about us as if we were completely unreasonable. While my bridesmaid was helping to get the seating chart fixed, Sundy complained that we 'kept changing things' even though we had only changed the tables around one time to make sure our parents were close to the dance floor. Then Sundy said that the reason why she messed up the seating chart was because 'there are a thousand emails to go through' and because we 'should have sent the chart as an attachment rather than copy/pasting it in the email', even though she had never told us that. She also said that she didn't know who was supposed to take the card box 'because they changed it so many times'. We changed it one time, and that was only because there was a huge packet Pam was supposed to have given us months ago that we unexpectedly had to complete during one of our in-person meetings with Sundy. So when the packet asked who was supposed to take the card box, we just put a name down until we could talk about it more with our families. It was honestly really discouraging to find out how Sundy was talking about us, since we always maintained politeness with them even through all the difficulties they had caused us.
The day of the wedding, dinner was served an hour late. We had asked the venue what time dinner was served so that we can plan the photographer/DJ events around it. They said dinner comes at 7, but it didn't start getting passed until almost 8. This really set the photographers and DJ behind, and they didn't even have time to eat their meals when it finally did come. Had it been communicated to us that dinner was going to be late, we could have started some of the speeches and activities that were originally scheduled after dinner so our other vendors weren't so rushed.
Honestly, there is so much more that happened but I would be here forever typing. Our wedding was so simple. 100 people, we did most of the setting up and tearing down. And yet this venue still messed up so many basic things-meal tasting, rehearsal, seating chart, the reception dinner... I honestly can't even recommend this place for someone who wants the bare minimum for their wedding. -

I am agreeing with what my husband said for our review of our wedding on 2/3/18 at the holiday Inn, East Mountain establishment. Although, more disappointing was that management will NOT take responsibility for what happened since we paid for our ceremony there and our Celebrant had to leave being paid for 1/2 hr ceremony that lasted 7 min and since the break in the water pipe and we could not complete the most important part of being marriage, our ceremony. Mandy informed me today that management said that the pipe bursting during our ceremony was not due to the single temps the night before but because of a worn pipe. We have a video of not only the pipe bursting and exploding on our guests table, but also the pipe itself which the plumber was bringing out and says it was due to the room not being heated. He held it up for many to take pictures. We are asking $350 for the Mayor who could not do our ceremony, and $300 for seating since you could not accomadate our guests in the bar being moved there with non invites just drinking in the bar, and also for half the cost of our venue which you were responsible for no one ate for hours and couldn't sit which was our venue. Contract says seating for ALL will be provided if the venue changes...there was not enough seating...outside parties were in there seated already.,
Looking forward to your reply. We believe this is very reasonable since we could not exchange our rings, vows, unity candle with my daughter and her new dad...etc

Stay away. This place is a mess.
So many things were promised and not fulfilled. I booked my wedding two years ago and went through 3 wedding coordinators. The 3rd wedding coordinator was assigned less then two weeks before my wedding.
Before I get into all the details of my experience, my biggest concern and warning to all future brides and grooms, is that I paid for upgraded alcohol and my guest were being served well. Even when my guest specifically requested Jose Cervi Tequila they were served well. Or well run instead of Malibu, or well gin instead of Tanqueray Gin. This is not what I paid for.
I have went through a total of 3 wedding coordinators since booking two years ago. The beginning of my wedding planning journey at the Holiday Inn my wedding coordinator was named Maureen. She made a lot of promises and was a great sales person which is why we booked there. She had no issue with me using real candles, having an LED dance floor, ceiling decorations, having indoor fireworks, white floor length linens and napkin choice color, have a tasting to select entrees, and we would be allowed to use the hospitality room for an after party where I would provide the alcohol. She told me we could have a pool party the night before. She told me there were multiple items I could borror from the venue including clear votive candles. She told me she and her team would act as a decorator and I would have a stress free day. She told me I could rent chivari chairs directly through the hotel which would be added to my invoice at the venue. I was told my ceremony would have white resin chairs and I would not be responsible for renting those. I was told I would have the bridal suite booked Friday and Saturday of my even. I was told by booking at this venue, I would have a planner for every step of the way and I would have a final meeting 3 weeks before my wedding to discuss all the details and make rental selections. She was fired for not paying the rental vendor that I apparently could use through the hotel. Luckily after Maureen left I got in contact with a chair rental company to pay for my chair rentals. I received an email Oct 1st 2021 with a few contact emails I could use to make payments or if I had any questions. I sent multiple emails for months and I was ignored.
Perhaps at this point I should have booked elsewhere. finally got in touch with someone March 2022. Her name was Pamela and from the moment I met her I knew something was off. If I didn’t continuously reach out to make payments I would have had no contact with her. I had to ask for a tasting which took weeks before it actually happened. The tasting happened April 2022 and I was unimpressed by the beef options. We choose to upgrade the beef selection to a ribeye steak for an additional cost per person. From April 2022 to September 11th, 2022 I heard nothing from Pamela. I was supposed to have a wedding planner every step of the way. I was on my own doing everything myself. Because of the uneasy feeling I got every time I was around this women I choose to hire a wedding stylist for $600. There responsibility was going to be too decorate my reception area for me because I did not trust the venue to be able to execute my vision. I emailed Pamela about the final meeting and she scheduled me on September 11th, 2022.
On September 11th, 2022 was the height of my anxiety. I was told Pamela quit before she got fired because she was drinking on the job. At this point two weeks before my wedding I was onto my third coordinator. While Sundy really tried to make things right, I had to defend every single choice I made the last two years. I was given a hard time about using real candles, which I already bought at this point. They gave me a hard time about indoor fireworks, which were booked and paid for. I was told they only provide black table clothes and I would have to pay to rent white floor length table cloths. They have me a hard time about ceiling decor, which was booked and paid for. I wanted to call off my wedding and do something else. This meeting was extremely discouraging and I was told that multiple things were dropped this entire process. I asked my fiancé if we could just cancel the wedding at this point. I was aware of a lot of things, but that comment Sundy made still sits with me now. What else was dropped that I did see?
I was told I could not have an after party in the hospitality room, and instead the hotel bar would be open after my wedding reception. One of the factors for booking this venue was the ability o have an after party right there. While I was disappointed at first, I was fine with having it at the hotel bar. I stated this during the meeting on September 11th. I also went through with Sundy the alcohols I upgraded and which ones I did not want at my wedding. Even after this conversation, it being an additional charge on my final invoice; well alcohol was still being served during the reception
Leaving that meeting on September 11th there were many questions left unanswered and I did not have a final invoice.
I returned to the hotel September 12th after I got my thoughts in order. There apparently we’re meetings that morning to discuss my wedding and the wedding a week after mine. They would allow me to have candles but my ceiling decorations and indoor fireworks were still being questioned. They would rent white table clothes for me for my wedding. They said I could have a after party at the hotel bar after my reception. I stated to Sundy and Shirly who were both present that I want to have the after party in the bar because it would be less stress on me, people would pay for their own drinks, and it’s a bigger space. I included an after party on my wedding website and my fiancé and I told everyone about it.
The week before my wedding everything feel into place with my vendors and everything was approved. As grateful as I am everything was approved, why was this a week before my wedding? This was unneeded stress and anxiety.
My wedding ceremony and reception were beautiful. People said the dinners were tasty, but again I got a lot of comments on the bar. Why were they serving well, and people were specifically asking for brand name which they could see behind the bar and were served well. After the wedding reception everyone made their way to the bar for the after party. The bar was closed.
We asked Sundy if they could open the bar like we discussed and she said we were having an after party in the hospitality room. After going back and fourth they sent someone to open the bar 10-15 minutes later. This person was not dressed in work clothes which makes me believe they had no intention of opening the bar.
Because this was not a seamless transition to the after party like was promised, people we’re annoyed with waiting. One girl decided to be funny and go behind the bar as a joke. Because of a simple joke they decided to close the bar before it was even open. Instead of ruining the after party of my wedding that was promised they could have asked the one girl to leave. Instead of my leaving my wedding on a postive note, I will always have the memory of being screwed over yet again by this venue.
When I tried to contact the general manager every day for two weeks I was ignored. This is absolutely disgraceful and all future brides and grooms be warned, star far away. Pay the extra couple dollars and go to a more reputable place. -

First of all this is not a bad review because of the wedding planners. Amy and Lauren did a great job. This is about the management of the facility. My wife and I planned this wedding after reconnecting for almost 33 years apart, and thought this was the best place since we grew up in the Wyoming Valley as kids. The place was beautiful thanks to Partypeeps. First the venue would not let the flower girl throw fake rose petals because of liability concerns even though we signed the contract it was fine. Then they gave in. During the procession when my wife was saying her vows , a water pipe broke because they neglected to turn the heat up for the weekend when it was in the single digits. During my wife's vows to me. Management came in and said all people need to leave the room. I asked the mayor to please continue on with the ceremony so we could get married. We got through the vows in 1 or 2 minutes , and never had the chance to even exchange rings or light our unity candle at the alter because management was so worried about the hotel guests not having water in there rooms. All the guests were escorted to the hallway where my wife and I exchanged rings ourselves IN THE HALLWAY because everyone did not know where to go. They put the guests and wedding party in the Bistro. While customers of the bar were drinking for 2 hours while they tried to fix a broke copper pipe , instead of just shutting off the line and moving a table to a different place in the reception area. They fixed the pipe moved us back in to the reception. The flowers and arch were removed and sitting in the hall way. Never brought the flowers and arch back into the reception. Then for the delay for 2 hours we were charged an additional cost by the DJ, Management never reached out as they said. It was a nightmare of a wedding. But we are married at least. Thank you Holiday Inn for the memories .Always think about your guests in the rooms not a wedding -
