We are still getting compliments on our photos, and we truly love revisiting them—her style was exactly what we had imagined. Finding out she was available for our date was such an exciting moment, and she exceeded every expectation.
Katherine is incredibly talented and also makes the entire process feel easy and natural. From the start, she was thoughtful and generous with her time—answering questions, helping us think through what we wanted our photos to capture, and guiding us through prep around family photos and timelines, which was incredibly helpful.
On the day of, Katherine and her team were fantastic. They were warm, calm, and made everyone feel comfortable, which really comes through in the photos. Capturing candid moments with our friends and family was a top priority for us, and she delivered that beautifully. The photos feel genuine, joyful, and perfectly reflect the wine country, disco-meets-dinner-party vibe of the weekend.

The best there is, truly unmatched!
There aren't enough words in the dictionary to describe how great Katherine is! Her photos are stunning and we were absolutely thrilled with our results, both for our engagement shoot and our wedding. But beyond that, the level of care and consideration that Katherine puts into each client is just unmatched. She checks in at regular intervals leading up to the wedding, makes sure she has a very clear sense of what you want from your photos, or what you like aesthetically if you don't know what you want from your photos, and she's just a generally warm and lovely person. She approaches the stress of a wedding with humor and she keeps the mood light and celebratory no matter what crazy s*** happens throughout the day. A true professional and a class act, not to mention an ARTIST. You will not get photos like this from anyone else. -

Don’t hesitate!!!
Katherine is amazing! She took pictures of our elopement at the San Francisco City hall and we are obsessed with the photos. She is so easy to work with, and made us feel so comfortable behind the camera. 10/10 would recommend! -

Cannot rave about Kat enough! Even BEFORE I even met her, just through email, I loved her energy, and she didn't disappoint in making us feel so comfortable in front of the camera, laughing candidly, and truly enjoying the photo shoot the entire time. We did an engagement shoot in San Francisco, CA and she absolutely nailed it - I loved how natural, candid, and beautiful all our photos came out in the city. My partner and I have done about 6 photoshoots, and she's our favorite photographer by far. I'd 10/10 recommend her to anybody and everybody for engagement/weddings! -

I cannot say enough incredible things about Katherine. Taking photos can be intimidating and overwhelming, but Katherine made our engagement photoshoot so much fun. She truly made it a day in our wedding journey that we will look back and cherish forever. Katherine has a gift for making people feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. Not only does she make you FEEL great while you are taking photos, but her photography skills are truly unmatched. Our photos came out better than I could have imagined and we have received so many compliments from friends and family.

Katherine is the best. She is incredibly organized, detail oriented, and friendly. Katherine was so helpful throughout our planning process - she was communicative and quick to respond to any & every question I had with tons of helpful information. I had no doubt that not only would Katherine take amazing photos but I wouldn't have to worry about any detail not being captured or something feeling unorganized. She totally delivered. We're obsessed with the photos from our wedding weekend - Katherine captured us perfectly & the photos really feel organic and like "us". Not to mention there are so many photos, we keep looking back and finding new favorites or little memories captured that we forgot happened! Neither me or my husband love having our photos taken and Katherine made the entire process fun, easy, and very efficient (which was especially key given how hot it was on our wedding day). Our family and friends continue to rave about Katherine as well. She is so talented and professional but also personable. It was so fun working with Katherine - I will recommend her to any couple looking for a wedding photographer!! -

Honestly, the best decision I ever made!!! I was pretty lost in the process as wedding planning is a lot. The first call we got on she had all the right questions and so much good advice on things I would have never even thought of. This girl has done a million weddings and it shows!!!! She even had advice for me on things that weren’t photos related. We talked a handful of times leading up to our day and each time she came to us with confidence, professionalism, but most importantly she made us feel like we have been friends for years!! It can be nerve racking working so closely on something so important to you with someone you’ve never met prior. After the first phone call I turned to my partner and said I trust her completely. She has a laid back way about her that makes people feel so comfortable. She is a wedding expert and it shows!!!
Day of the wedding was so smooth thanks to Katherine. She was great at directing our families and friends. We discussed all the shots I wanted prior so she new exactly what I wanted and when I tell you these pictures should be in a magazine I’m not joking! She made us look so cool!! My friends and family are still raving about working with her months later. There was a highlight moment where we were outside getting couple shots and I wanted a picture in front of the venue in the middle of the street. This girl not only stopped traffic but complete fell on her back while getting one of the best shots out of all of them!! Haha so if you’re looking for action shots she does those too! Lol Even though we never met in person prior it felt like she was suppose to be there and another wedding guest as she made us feel at ease. It didn’t end there, she had soooo many photos and highlights already edited by the next morning. Within weeks, she had more sent out to us. She is incredible! Months later she’s still checking in with me to confirm I’m able to access the photos and have options for printing. I’m talking a lot about my experience working with her but I can not stress enough how wonderful the photos turned out. She’s an amazing photographer. Just wow!!! I feel lucky to have worked with her and will continue recommending her to everyone! -

I cannot describe how wonderful it was to work with Katherine. I initially had to postpone my wedding due to Covid and Katherine was incredibly accommodating, supportive, and more than helpful. Throughout the process she often went beyond her duties as a photographer almost functioning as another wedding planner. On our wedding day she was not just our photographer but felt as though she was a guest and friend that we had known for years. She captured every happy moment and a year later I still go through the extensive photo album. I was over the moon with how perfect our photos were, a mix of candids and portraits. The attention to detail and ability to capture you at your best. I would hire her again in a heartbeat! -

The best of the best
We are wasting no time to write a review for Katherine after our wedding. Katherine is the best of the best -- she is the most amazing wedding photographer you can find and there was not a single moment since our first email exchange where we questioned our decision to go with Katherine. Since the moment we first spoke, Katherine was personable, kind and relatable-- we felt we could trust her with our vision and we felt confident collaborating with her to expand it. Our engagement photo shoot was a blast-- she found spots in NYC that we didn't even know existed and even though we thought being photographed would be awkward-- it turned out to be such a fun time because of Katherine's direction.
Katherine knows so much about the wedding industry in and of itself, but she also is attune to the nuances of the wedding day-- checking in on how the bride was feeling, keeping herself composed and professional while creating a comfortable space for our friends and family to enjoy being photographed. Not even 12 hours after our wedding, Katherine sent us our AMAZING sneak peeks!! She captured our most special moments in such beautiful fashion. We and all of our family and friends were stunned at how beautiful the photos are. We didn't feel like we were even being photographed and it shows in how organic and natural each photo looks. I'm positive there were also difficult and frustrating moments throughout the day, but both Katherine and Siobhan had such positive attitudes which really trickled down unto us as the bride and groom. We are so thankful for Katherine-- beyond being a great photographer, she is an amazing person full of kindness and joy! You will never regret collaborating with Katherine for your wedding! -

Where to even begin! Investing in Katherine to do our wedding photos for our August 2021 wedding was the best decision we made, other than getting married! She had done a friends' wedding so I had started following her on instagram long before my husband and I got engaged. We were planning our wedding back west, and so we started looking at photographers back there but I just couldn't find anyone who measured up to Katherine. Listen--if you want "trendy" photos for instagram with lots of filters, orange skin tones, poses, etc--then Katherine isn't for you. But if you want photos that truly capture your day how it really was, then look no further. I spent years pouring over my parents' and grandparents' wedding albums wanting something that felt that classic and real. And real is exactly what Katherine does. She has this amazing ability to be everywhere and no where all at once. I have been in a lot of weddings, seen a lot of wedding albums, and I have never seen a photographer capture candids as well as she does--the photos feel like screenshots from a movie where we look happy and fabulous all of the time! She truly has a photojournalistic approach. She caught every teary hug, hand squeeze, and glance from across the room. And her ability to make every type of light work to her advantage (harsh mid-day, dark dance floor, etc) is truly incredible. And don't worry--she will also get all of those family photos that your parents want and do it in a painless, seamless way! While we were initially hesitant about the cost of hiring a photographer from NYC to shoot a wedding back west, her prices are MORE than fair for what you are getting! She even did a mini shoot with us the night before to get us comfortable in front of the camera and they are some of my favorite photos from the weekend. Also--she made everyone feel so relaxed and comfortable the day of. My bridesmaids were obsessed with her (I mean how could you not be? She shows up in a gucci suit with effortless cool girl energy and is like "let's do this!"), she managed wrangling our very large wedding party with ease and even got my grandma to smile in photos which is a big deal!
We woke up the next day to about 15 sneak peak photos from the night before, and had our entire wedding album in 6 weeks! The hardest part is choosing which photos to print! There are just too many that we love.
TLDR: Hire this girl, she is smart as a whip, reliable, talented, and a consummate professional! -

We had the privilege of working with Katherine for our November “minimony.” She was so easy to connect with and made us feel amazing, beginning to end – she exudes Cool, Calm, and Collected! You’ll see in her portfolio she has captured weddings of all sizes, but it’s obvious she brings the same energy, attention, and love to all. Katherine was without doubt the best investment we made for our wedding. While our day was special, the more and more we get away from the day, the more we rely on our photos to remind us how the day felt. And oh boy, did Katherine excel at helping us relive our day! One of my favorite things about her work is that our photos include the typical family portraits, perfectly executed documentary shots to catch all those candids, and artistic shots where she flexed her creative muscle. Taken together, each of our photos is a gem in its own right and going through our library of photos felt like digging into an onion - so many layers and new gems to find.
At the end of the day, you pick a photographer for their style and Katherine hit it out of the park in that department. She brought so much more to our planning and wedding than just that - whether the thoughtful gifts her team sent, vendor recommendations whenever I needed them, or a stylistic eye when I was making a decor decision, Katherine felt like she was always there. I know how busy she is but I always felt like I was her #1 priority (even a year out from my wedding when most vendors ignore you). On my wedding day, I felt like I had a friend with me not a stranger.

Katherine & her team at Wilde Scout shot my wedding on 6/22 and I could not have asked for a better, more talented crew to photograph my wedding day. When I received the full album, I was blown away by not just the quality of every photo, but the level of authenticity that was felt in each frame. I can't say enough about Katherine and her crew at Wilde Scout Photo. They are seriously the BEST. I've worked in the Bridal business for 10 plus years and they are hands down some of my favorite photographers. Our relationship initially began as vendors. I do hair and makeup and a few of my brides had booked them for their wedding. I saw the photos and was very impressed. We continued working together for a little over a year. Then it was time for me to book a photographer and with no hesitation I emailed them to make sure they were available before sending out save the dates. We had a small wedding, but photos were high on my priority list. My husband and I and everyone else who have seen our photos could not be happier with them. Katherine really captured the moment, the mood, the experience and she did so effortlessly. She is ultimate cool and chill and helpful. I could go on and on, but I won't. I promise you will not regret booking them and will be extremely happy with your photos and the experience. -

It's hard to put into words just how much hiring Wilde Scout made our wedding photography dreams come true. From the get-go, this company is different -- badass, no cheesiness allowed, personalized, professional. Rather than forcing you to fit into some awkward, posed, same-old wedding mold, Wilde Scout somehow made us feel like Vogue models and yet utterly ourselves, while also meeting our family's expectations on what wedding photos should look like.
As the owner of the company, Kat is always professional, responsive, and on top of things. She listens and tries to understand her couples, while also having an air of trustworthiness -- we just knew she would make us look awesome and we didn't have to think about much (always a gift when wedding planning). She has a bunch of tricks for getting people comfortable in front of the camera and they really work -- you end up feeling like a model on a three-person date. She also asks detailed questions to understand exactly what type of wedding you are having (everything down to understanding our awkward family dynamics). Meanwhile, Eryc made my now-husband and his dorky friends look so suave. And on top of all that, their photos are so high-quality -- they really understand light and angles and each photo looks polished, modern, and thought-out. Somehow they achieve this without being obtrusive during the wedding -- no bright lights and tripods in your face -- just two more fun wedding guests catching shots in the background.
Above all, hire Wilde Scout because Kat and her photographers have the demeanor you want on your wedding day -- chill, relaxed, and ready to have fun and capture every amazing moment as it happens. (Real talk-- Kat jumped into an Uber to get to the venue with my bridesmaids and me when our shuttle didn't show up and caught some great shots, and I trusted her over everyone else to decide where to sign our ketubah when our plan A of doing it outside was not working). If you want cool, modern, real photos -- just hire them already. -

The Best Wedding Choice You Will Ever Make!
Wedding photos were a number one priority for me. Before the dress, before flowers, photography was of huge importance. After pouring through tons of photographer's wedding websites, I happened upon Wilde Scout via Instagram. I was immediately struck at how stunning the photos were, and how real they felt. These weren't your typical staged photographs. Katherine was capturing real moments and making them artful. We were sold. We also loved that she had us do an engagement shoot, so we could get to know her, she could get to know us and grow comfortable in front of the camera for the wedding day. And I am SO SO SO glad that we have those photos of just us. She even stayed way later than she had planned, in order to get all the shots she wanted. Katherine is both talented and goes the extra mile! On our wedding day, Katherine has such a positive and calming energy. There isn't anyone else, well besides your future spouse, who you spend so much time with on your wedding day and it's impossible to imagine having anyone else there to be with us through it all. Katherine was able to capture phenomenal moments of the day. She has this instinctive eye for capturing naturally occurring moments. Me being excited about food (!), us nailing our first dance, holding hands, and stealing small kisses here or there. They aren't your typical generic wedding photos. They capture the mood and feeling of the day. Katherine also makes you feel like total rockstars. If you want to feel even MORE beautiful on your wedding day, hire Katherine. We cannot recommend Katherine and her team at Wilde Scout enough. Look no further. They are your dream wedding photographers. -

Above and beyond
Katherine went above and beyond. She was fun to work with throughout and always professional.
-The engagement photo session went great. We were nervous, but she did her best to put us at ease, and the photos were unique and looked good.
-she was easy to reach before the wedding and flexible
-the day of wedding, Katherine worked a monster day and stayed focused the whole time - she was there at 8am for a morning event, and stayed until 10 pm.
-We were lucky enough to have a second photographer for our wedding, who was in training. It took longer to get her photos. When the mother of the bride realized she wanted more photos of family members walking down the aisle, they were quick to respond and get those photos to us. Very impressed that even after the wedding they were easy to reach, professional, and helpful.
-The photos looked phenomenal in the end, plus Katherine and her team were quick to answer follow up questions. -

Finding the right photographer for our wedding was NOT easy until we found Katherine. Katherine and the Wilde Scout team has been great to work with. From the initial phone conversation up to the day of the wedding, Katherine was a pleasure to work with.
It was important for us to have vendors that represented what we thought was important. It was important that we hire multi cultural vendors, someone that photographed people of color, and importantly worked with same sex couples. There’s nothing like hiring someone that is only working with you for the money.
We knew very early on that Katherine was our photographer. Katherine is caring, understanding and works hard to accommodate her clients. She went above and beyond to get our engagement photos done. We had to reschedule like 2-3xs due to the snow but she was able to help us and traveled to our home to make it happen.
Katherine is honest. When we went over pricing she did not try to upsell us a larger package. Then towards the end when we thought we couldn’t afford the second photographer, she said no big deal, I can handle it. We did use that second photographer BUT it was great knowing that someone is willing to do the same work without making extra money. That really says a lot.
I can’t say enough about Katherine and her team. If you’re looking for a photographer who’s cool, down to earth and more like your cousin, hire Katherine. You will NOT regret it.
Not for nothing but we fired our photographer to hire Katherine. That is how much we wanted her on our team. -

Carrie Sent on 07/31/2018We spent long hours looking for a photographer, we really dislike cheesy/overly posed photographs and we have a keen interest in photography ourselves, so it was easy to disregard overly filtered, badly cropped portfolios as we were researching.
We were happy to see the cinematic, in-between moments captured from The Wilde Scout Photo Co website as well as clean, crisp photography. I got in touch with Katherine, and after she responded incredibly quickly, we were already impressed with her. We booked her right away!!
Closer to the wedding, as we don’t live in NY, we had a phone call with Katherine and met her before the day of the wedding, both were incredibly helpful prior to the big day, she filled us in on tips and tricks, we hadn’t even thought about until then.
Katherine not only brings her creative eye to the table (what we’re hiring her for obviously) but she is fun, assertive, kind and a pleasure to work with. You really need someone with all of the above qualities for successful photos (especially working with a lot of people, such as family portraits).
Our ceremony was on a balcony in Brooklyn and we were blown away by how many great photos and angles Katherine and Sam achieved within the small space. Our whole album is amazing, and our guests are in love with the photos as much as we are. We like, that they captured the whole mood of the day, and all the little details that in years to come, we may forget about - if it wasn’t for the photos.
It’s important to be able to hire a vendor you can trust and wedding photography is certainly an investment. You’ll have those photos forever! Katherine and Sam really listen to what you want and really go above and beyond. They certainly did for us. The Facebook support group and little perks along the journey really make Wilde Scout Photo Co a cut above the rest.

From the first time we sat down with Katherine at our favorite local bar to our engagment session roaming around Prospect Park to our wedding day in Gowanus we knew we were in good hands. Katherine captures real moments, big and small, between real people in the most natural and beautiful way. She makes everyone around her feel instantly at ease and sets you up for success so the photography is something you can enjoy and not waste time or energy worrying about throughout the day.

Lauren Sent on 03/03/2018When we first saw the Wilde Scout Photo Co. website, Katherine was pretty new to the game. There weren't a lot of bigger weddings, and no pictures of everyone going crazy on a dance floor. The photos that were there--though--had this quality to them. The focus of the photo was an emotional moment, a look that people were giving, a glint in the eye. The intimacy of her style stopped me in my tracks. We got in touch, and she responded immediately. We had chemistry with her over Skype immediately, and she even made us have a photographable moment from a few hundred miles away. We are both a bit awkward so it was pretty impressive. We kept going through her photographs and being like, "well maybe she only takes pictures of beautiful people," which is a hypothesis I maintain, but I think she seems to take pictures of the joy.
From there, things only got better. Our engagement session was one of my best days of 2017, and our wedding was another (obviously my actual best day of 2017). Katherine has an amazing eye, and the photos speak for themselves. We also got an album, and let me tell you--not only was the layout process a breeze, but this album is an heirloom that we will love forever. I get teary-eyed every time I look through it. Katherine and Rachel (her second shooter for our wedding) were so fun to be around during our wedding day and it never felt like the paparazzi, despite them being weirdly present for everything that could happen. They captured our loved ones meeting each other, sweet moments with my Great Uncle, and everything in between. The portraits are also awesome, and I'm not really into portraits.
To say that working with her was a pleasure would be the understatement of the year. Katherine is a gem. She's casual, sharp, witty, warm, and deeply talented. -

Olivia Sent on 02/16/2018You want to click with the person you hire - you will be spending so much time with them! Well, my search was over once I spoke to Katherine. She is sweet, thoughtful, fun, witty, smart, and incredibly talented. So my pre-wedding day experience was a blast getting to know her and share the stories of how my now husband and I met and what makes us us. She made me and us feel special and like I've known her for a long time. On my wedding day, she was such a calming and powerful behind the scenes orchestrator. I don't know how she does it but she somehow directs everyone to do everything with ease and to my delight and surprise, without pushback or questioning from some family members...She makes friends with everyone and to be honest-- everyone wants to be friends with her more. I think everyone in my wedding party asked who she was, how I found her, and that they loved her(from her style to her charm to her witty remarks/banter). She managed to capture the most beautiful moments of the day(the big obvious ones to all the behind the scenes moments you share with your loved ones). One thing I think gets overlooked and I am so lucky and grateful to her for, is she had my husband and I take moments to ourselves throughout the day. I don't think we would have done that or done it as well without her. It made us appreciate what we were doing, love on each other more, live in the moment, and really breathe in what we were doing. It was magical. So many people don't get to do that because the day goes so fast! So after receiving her email including the video and photo album. My husband and I got wine, laughed, I definitely cried, and we went through the photos and video reminiscing the vibes and moments our day. She captures all the moments that made it special - and that's not an easy feat. Katherine Marchand is so damn good at her job. I adore her and forever will because of her personality AND helping me have one of the best and most memorable days of my life.

We hired Katherine for a wedding and engagement shoot. Katherine was 45 minutes late to the engagement shoot. Talked about wanting to retire in 2022 and being not interested in her job. Approx. 50% of the pictures were not usable due to intense backlighting effect focused on our heads.
Katherine then proceeded to cancel our wedding shoot a few months before our wedding. Extremely unprofessional, chose literally anyone else.
