We absolutely loved having our wedding at Wickham Park in the Emerald Room. All of the staff were amazing and so easy to work with. Diana was such a tremendous help throughout the entire process. Our pictures came out amazing with the different backgrounds throughout the area too. I highly recommend this place.

Beautiful Ceremony Space
I had my wedding ceremony at Wickham Park, specifically the English Gardens. It was absolutely STUNNING for our ceremony, with the variety of greens and blooming flowers. The space is perfect for a ceremony as it is secluded by tall bushes, has a large open lawn, and a beautiful gazebo. The grounds of the entire park are impeccably maintained.
It was an absolute pleasure working with Wickham Park, specifically Diana as she made the process very easy and was very responsive and helpful with any question. They set up the tent and number of chairs we needed.
We highly recommend the space if you want an outdoor garden ceremony! Our guests LOVED the space and it was absolutely perfect for what we were envisioning for our ceremony!

Beautiful wedding
We just had our wedding on 9/23/23 and it was amazing and beautiful. The staff was so attentive to ourselves as the bride and groom, the guests, and every detail. They made sure to keep unwelcome guests (people and animals out of the wedding). The wedding was able to be held outside and the reception was wonderful with a cozy atmosphere would recommend to any bride and groom that would like a wonderful wedding with amazing staff. We worked with Diana who is amazing and would recommend her 10/10. The only issue is the tent had some holes so some of the guests had to move stay dry from the rain

Awesome venue for garden theme wedding
My sister and I had a double wedding. I can’t express enough how Wonderful Sarah and staff was! Our day was nothing short of amazing! The venue was beautiful! Sarah answered all our questions and provided so many valuable nuggets! I would book Wickham for all our important occasions going forward!

The most perfect wedding day
Sarah at Wickham park is the absolute best!! She was there for me every step of the way. Quick to respond to my emails. She made things super easy and made sure everything went smooth not only on the big day but the days leading up to. I had a few concerns going into this as a “covid” bride but she eased my mind and she made the big day nothing less then perfect!!!!! Not to mention the ground at the cabin were BEAUTIFUL and soooo clean. 10/10 would recommend this venue

Everything we hoped for and more
When our wedding planning started back in 2018 we had the pleasure of working with Pam to plan for our Aug 2020 wedding. She was wonderful to work with. We live in California (I'm originally from CT). I would say that planning a wedding from cross country was a challenge, but honestly we were so blessed to have the most incredible vendors and venue to work with that made our experience so easy. From answering all questions we had (no matter how insignificant they may have seemed), to being very understanding in allowing us to postpone our wedding to Aug of 2021, Wickham was incredibly supportive every step of the way. We spent the last months leading up to the wedding working with Sarah who is the new event coordinator at Wickham. To say she is INCREDIBLE at her job would be an understatement. My advice to you is to take her advice in what she recommends, because she knows what she's talking about. We simply cannot put into words how grateful we were to have had such support behind our LGBTQ+ cabin wedding. It was stunning in every way. Also want to shout out to Dave who was the day of coordinator there for our event. He was wonderful! Thank you so so very much for all of your help in making our dream day come true.

Wonderful, even through tough times.
We got married at Wickham Park twice... kind of. Like so many couples, our plans to have our ceremony and reception at the park in 2020 did not go as planned. The park worked with us to allow us to split our day in half- we held our ceremony in Sept of 2020 and held our reception last month (both at the park).
Sarah come on to the scene between the ceremony and reception. She was absolutely wonderful to work with and went above and beyond for us when we had a crises during our reception. She literally saved the day!
The park was beautiful as always and our guests had a great time. 10/10, would get married there a 3rd time (kidding, but the park was great).

Everything I imagined
Working with Pam was a 10/10 experience she was beyond nice and answered every question I had with quickness. The Irish garden was absolutely beautiful and meant a lot to my husbands family because his grandmother is from Ireland. My husband and I are so glad we found Wickham Park! When our first venue fell through, I was panicked, but it ended up being a blessing because I found Wickham Park. It had everything I wanted and more. We were married at the Cabin in September and it was just magical. The view, the gardens, being able to set up lawn games, everything was perfect. The attendants were wonderful, and Pamela was so easy to work with, always available to answer my questions. My guests are still commenting on what a lovely day they had and how beautiful the Park is. I highly recommend it!

Beautiful venue!
When my then fiancée and I began planning our wedding one of the first things we decided was that we wanted to have it in a flower garden and we are so lucky to have found Wickham Park. It has several enchanting gardens, two wedding chapels and was just fifteen minutes from our apartment. We chose to have our ceremony at the cabin location which had the perfect garden for our cocktail hour, a tent-covered reception area, and to top it all of a beautiful little chapel overlooking downtown Hartford, were my now wife and I made our first home. Once we found Wickham Park we didn’t even look at another venue. Not only was it exactly what we wanted, but being a nonprofit park it came in at less than a third of the next best location we looked into. We couldn’t be happier with our decision and would recommend it to anyone.

Dream Venue!
Pam is hands down THE BEST! She was quick to respond to all of our reach outs, and made the whole process easy from start to finish. She is wicked nice and very accommodating. We were looking for a venue that would fit in our budget, and the pricing was more than reasonable. Our wedding took place in the beginning of September at The Cabin, and the view was fantastic. We got so many compliments on what a nice venue it was. We had a lot of out of town guests and they were all very impressed with the amount of space, gardens and overall look to everything. Great spot for scenic sunset pictures. We were looking for a laid back, outdoorsy/rustic type wedding, and this place was perfect. Plenty of hotels nearby, parking lot is right next to the venue, covered areas for dinner service and dance floor, handicap accessible, and the other vendors they work with/recommended were excellent. We were very happy with how everything went on our special day.

One-of-a-kind venue!
All of our guests are still asking us how we found such a gorgeous venue!
Leading up to the wedding day, we were SO excited to have such a special day at such a special place. The grounds are completely breathtaking but we still wanted to put our personal touch with flowers and decorations in the tent and cabin. Pam, the coordinator, was tremendously helpful and responsive throughout the entire process. She even sent us diagrams of all of the different areas with measurements and it made our planning seamless!
Throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, the guests loved the amazing views and photo ops. Being able to see the Hartford skyline and the gorgeous sunset was an added bonus for us and all of our guests. I would have a wedding here every weekend if we could! And we are so grateful to Pam for helping us bring our dream day to life!

Perfect Fall Wedding
I got married at the Cabin Garden (outdoor ceremony and tent/cabin reception) on October 20, 2018. Pam is easy to work with, the different gardens are amazing for pictures, and the site is stunning for an outdoor ceremony. We loved the fact that people could move around the venue and meander around as they wanted. We set up a cigar bar under the pergola and it was so fun, everyone loved it! The park rangers are all helpful. Highly recommend Wickham for a rustic/natural wedding. Also - we used Log Rolling for catering and bar service, they were excellent, everyone loved the food.

We held our wedding ceremony at Wickham Park's English Gardens, and it was absolutely incredible! The setting is beautiful for a large ceremony, and it was also a great spot to do pictures before the ceremony (for both our bridal party and our wedding guests). The logistics make it very easy - there is plenty of parking for busses to drop off/ pick up in the lot right next to the gardens, and the park staff set up chairs and directed guests to the right spot. Pam is the coordinator for the park and was a pleasure to work with throughout.

I recently had my wedding at the new Emerald Room in the park and it was perfect. The venue is stunning and we received so many compliments from our guests. The stone walls, the fountain and the plantings surrounding the venue were gorgeous and made for great photos. We loved being able to have an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour and an indoor reception. Even though we always wanted an outdoor ceremony, having the option of the indoor reception space for the ceremony as a back up in case of rain was nice. The bridal suite in the Emerald Room was also a huge plus. It was nice to have a place to relax while guests were arriving. The staff at the park were also great. Pam was always quick to answer my (many) questions in the months leading up the wedding and was very accomdating. The ranger staff and venue attendant were all very helpful the day of our event. With the stress of wedding day and wanting everything to go smoothly, it was so nice to go into the day having full confidence in Wickham!

My Husband and I were lucky enough to be the second wedding in their brand new Emerald Room! Our guests loved the venue. It has heat and air conditioning so to the temperature was perfect for everyone. We were able to enjoy the gardens and then retreat inside to eat dinner. If you are looking for a smaller venue I would recommend the Emerald Room, with it's own private Bridal Suite that has it's own bathroom, along with a huge catering kitchen for the catering staff and there own restroom, this venue has it all! Pamela was fantastic to work with, answered all questions and really helped make our day perfect!

Wickham Park is an empty canvas that you can customize to fit your style. The flowers all over the park are gorgeous. I had my reception at the cabin on a Thursday. I couldn't have been happier with the choice of day. It was a full thousand dollars less than a Saturday wedding, and the park attendant Pam was so flexible with us. Normally for a cabin event you are only allowed to go in and decorate the morning of the wedding. For our wedding we were able to come in and decorate on Wednesday so that the morning of we did not have to do anything. The weather turned out perfect and the views from the cabin were amazing. Our guests couldn't stop telling us how beautiful the venue was. My husband and I also got married down in the English garden which was just breathtaking. The pictures that my photographer took in those gardens are beyond words fantastic. The whole venue had a very romantic feel to it. This is a venue that you can make your own, just make sure you are okay with the setup and breakdown being before and after the wedding. I would highly recommend ciao! Two steps catering because they helped us take everything down and were absolutely fantastic. I loved everything about my wedding day and I am so happy I chose Wickham Park

On our wedding day we had the cabin package which is pretty much all outdoors. It was a MONSOON all day long. I am a big believer of things meant to happen and I believe that was meant to happen. Instead of having our wedding overlooking Hartford we had it inside the cabin with a big huge fire going. I grew up in a log cabin and aspects of the cabin were reminiscent of our childhood home :) My husband also loves fire places and has an inside joke with moose (the enormous one in front of the fireplace made the night) . The moose head, the fire, and just being in the cabin was more us. Not only was our day amazing Pamela was a joy to email and chat with. Either way Wickham Park cabin package is the way to go in the Manchester area RAIN.....or SHINE :) We could of let the rain ruin the day but we just embraced it, our guests didn't mind at all and multiple family members have told me it's the best wedding they have been to!

My husband and I were recently married at Wickham Park. It was perfect and everything we dreamed it would be. We were lucky to have amazing weather, as our ceremony was outside and everyone commented on how beautiful the wedding was. It was truly majestic. Wickham Park is so very beautiful. Many of our guests said it was the prettiest and best wedding they have ever attended. We had the Cabin package and both the ceremony and reception on site. This was perfect for us and our guests. The guests were able to move right into the fun of the night and cocktails right after the ceremony without needing to drive somewhere new - and we were able to move right into gorgeous pictures in the Gardens. The Tent, Cabin, and Garden provided a wonderful venue for people to mingle outside, sit inside, dance, etc., but be cohesive and connected at the same time. I cannot recommend this site enough for the most beautiful wedding. It was very romantic, yet relaxing and fun. In addition to the beautiful site, the staff is fantastic!! Pamela was so easy to work with - professional, responsive, and so very sweet. The whole process of planning the event there was super easy and they were willing to work with us in any way. Thank you so very much, Pamela and Wickham Park, for making our wedding day so very special and unforgettable!

We looked at a half dozen venues and as soon as we visited Wickham, we knew this was right for us. We did both reception and ceremony in the Cabin Garden. The views were amazing, the garden was gorgeous, and the cabin/tent worked great for dinner and dancing (and the side lawn became the site of an epic corn hole tournament). Friends and family all had wonderful things to say about our setting. Even though this is a park open to the public, we felt like we were in our own little world. Staff were easy to work with and responsive to inquiries throughout our planning process. They also provided a great suggested vendors list which made choosing vendors familiar with the park much easier.

I recently had my wedding reception and ceremony at The Cabin at Wickham Park this past spring. This venue truly is a hidden gem. The view from the hill is stunning and makes for great pictures. You can also take pictures in the other gardens throughout the park which adds diversity to your photos. We decided to use high top tables throughout the garden for cocktail hour and it looked beautiful! The park staff was professional in all communications and you could tell they truly care about your big day. The grounds were beautifully manicured during every visit, including on our wedding day. The rain held off just long enough for us to finish our ceremony on the amphitheater. Weather was a concern for me when booking an outdoor venue such as this, but they proved they are prepared to handle the rain. Overall, I was most satisfied with Wickham Park as my wedding venue, and would highly recommend it to brides-to-be!

We fell in love with the Lotus Garden, with its rustic pagoda, tranquil gardens, and beautiful fountain. We knew immediately this was the place! We were amazed at the price, which we considered an absolute bargain for what we were afforded: A lush, beautiful garden for our own private use, and a staff that was there for us at every turn! I was in love with Wickham Park the very first time I stepped into the cabin garden. The place is BEAUTIFUL. The staff was incredible from the very first day we met them. They were professional, timely in all responses and beyond helpful when it came to working with me and my wedding coordinator. The place is seriously flawless. If you want a unique, beautiful venue, whether you hold your entire event at the cabin garden or just use one of the gardens for photos or just a ceremony, Wickham Park is definitely the place to be.

I got married in the Cabin Garden in September, and I couldn't have picked a better venue. It was absolutely gorgeous, and everything about the grounds and Cabin were impeccable. My husband and I live in Brooklyn, and we were looking for something rustic, yet polished, somewhere outside the city. Wickham Park is exactly that. With all of the little details that go into a wedding, looking back, I can say that the venue is the most crucial, and I couldn't have found anything more perfect.

I don't know how to put into words how absolutely PERFECT this location is for a wedding!! I contacted Rhonda at Wickham Park back in January 2011 and from the get-go she was fantastic! We booked the Cabin Package which gave us the cabin, the garden, tent, tables & chairs for 150 and the ceremony site for 8 hours. The weather was beautiful. The ranger assigned to us for the day was a total sweetheart and so helpful. The only downside was that the A/C didn't seem to be working too well and it was pretty hot in the cabin BUT we managed to deal just fine and danced the day away!!
I would recommend this site to anyone and EVERYONE. It was truly magical. I never thought myself to be an outdoor wedding type of girl but this was breathtaking. The hartford skyline is infront/behind you creating a picturesque backdrop. In the fall it is equally as (if not more!) stunning! We added two white industrial fans in the garden tent outside to circulate the air and it helped tremendously.

A little pricy, but totally worth it for the scenery and the convenience of having the ceremony and reception all in one, beautiful location. Also, we were able to take all of our photos at the location, so we could get back to the party right away without our guests having to wait several hours! And our pictures came out amazing! Everyone asks where we got married.
Also, it was nice to know that the money we spent on the venue goes back to preserving this amazingly beautiful park. Definitely worth it.
The staff was professional and made sure everything was set up as I specified. The facilities were clean, and completely dry after it had rained all week!
Rhonda and the rest of the staff I spoke to via email (as I planned long distance) were extremely professional and responsive in a timely manner to all my little questions and numerous emails. They were very flexible with my requests for decor and furniture set up.
I also liked the fact that we could bring in other vendors and we weren't restricted like other venues do. They even provided a list of reputable vendors and we were not disappointed with their recommendations!
We look forward to visiting the Park in the years to come and eventually bringing our children to the place where Mommy and Daddy got married. :-)

I like to give constructive criticism and not give all my vendors 5 stars for everything but it's unavoidable.
Wickham park was the perfect location in every way for our wedding. We got married in the cabin garden. For a tent, cabin and garden all-inclusive the price is incredible.
Guess what? It rained on our wedding day. We were lucky enough to get our wedding party and first look pictures done in the garden before the rain started. When we finally decided that it was impossible to get married outside overlooking the skyline of hartford we accepted that we would get married in front of the fireplace, below that amazing moose head. My husband and I are so happy it rained during our ceremony. Our guests waited in the cabin, our wedding party on the porch and my husband and I hid in the gazebo. The ceremony was so intimate because all our guests were standing around us and the acoustics were great. It felt so personal. I would reccommend putting pictures up of each spouse's parents and grandparents on their wedding day on the big mantle. It made getting married inside that much more meaningful.
The tent is beautiful. The bar is convenient and the venue is the perfect size for a party of size 100 or more. You would be silly not to consider the Cabin Garden at Wickham park for your wedding.

Best Venue! So beautiful. We rented out the Cabin Garden site here. Our guests loved it and so did we. Our contact at Wickham (Rhonda) is so friendly and responsive. And you get a great value for your buck. They provide tables, rocking chairs (since it is at a beautiful cabin site), chairs, and many other features. Our wedding day was amazing and the venue was nothing short of incredible. Definitely recommend this place!

My husband and I got married up in the cabin garden ampitheatre on 5/7/11. I had originally planned for the English Garden, but had to change at the last minute because there just were no flowers out yet! Rhonda the events coordinator was amazing. She had no problem accomodating us. The park was gorgeous and the rain held off! The crew was super helpful. The only thing that happened is that they forgot to open the damper to the fireplace before they lit the fire, and we got smoked out for a few minutes. That problem was quickly fixed however. Rhonda was so quick to respond to any and all questions I had throughout the year. The money you pay is well worth it. They use it to maintain the park. If you have never been, you need to see it in June. We fell in love with the park the very first day we visited. Even if you just get married in one of the gardens and don't have your reception there, it will be beautiful!I don't regret changing the ceremony location at all. It was so easy to walk from the ampitheatre to the cabin. The view of Hartford in the background isn't bad either! Thank you SO much for a gorgeous wedding and for all the emotional help throughout the past year!

My husband and I had our rehearsal and ceremony in the English Garden. The ceremony was at 5pm and the sun was just low enough below the trees so our guests would swelter in the heat...it was perfect! It is an ideal location for garden wedding. We got so many compliments about how beautiful our ceremony was.
We ordered 100 chairs for the wedding at $2.50 a chair. The week before I called asking for 10 more chairs, and they accomodated us COMPLIMENTARY!
I was very impressed by their ability to answer any questions or concerns.
There is a white tent they can put up over the chairs incase it showers/rains. You have to reserve it and decide if you want it the day before the wedding ($400 for tent).
Only downfall is you don't get your money back if you are unable to have your ceremony there due to weather.

The park is absolutely beautiful. The staff was extremely helpful and very quick to respond to all of my questions. 2 days before the rehearsal we needed to move the time and they were so flexible.

Absolutely gorgeous. Had no problems, Rhonda answered all my questions when I e-mailed her. And I am sure I sent a lot. Had our ceremony in the English garden and it was perfect. They set up the chairs we requested before anyone showed up and packed them up after we left! Our reception was in the Cabin and cabin garden. Everything was setup as requested and the gardens were beautiful.

Absolutely breath taking! It did rain during our ceremony however we had a fire in the cabin and did the ceremony there, which was gorgeous and intimate. After the rain cleared we were able to take pictures out on the beautiful ampatheater over looking the city skyline and fall foliage. The tent and cabin are a blank canvas which is perfect for creating your dream wedding. The staff is wonderful and very attentive. Highly recommended.

Great place!! Excellent views of the city and the cabin garden was beautiful. Rhonda was very helpful and made sure that everything happened just as we wanted. The new amphitheater at the cabin garden is extremely beautiful and makes the day run much easier. Our only complaint was that the tent isn't set up for any kinda of sound and makes it hard to have special events like the first dance and speeches in the tent area. It did rain very heavily on our wedding day the tent did a great job of keeping us dry, though some water did sneak under the tent and left some slippery areas, but the staff was very fast to sweep it out from under the tent. The area is like a blank canvas which allowed us to decorate exactly as we wanted to. Overall it was an excellent experience and would recommend this place to friends and family.

My ceremony was scheduled to take place in the English garden, but with a downpour of rain and lots of mud, we were unable to have the ceremony take place there, but they were more than willing to redirect our guests to our reception facility and help us in any was possible in the planning process.

I absolutely loved this location. We got married at the "Cabin Garden" which provides a log cabin, a white wedding tent, endless flowers all around the grounds, and a beautiful view of the Hartford skyline. In fact, my mother took about 200 pictures of the destination itself :)

My daughter and son-in-law found this venue online as they planned their CT wedding from NC. We could not have been happier with their choice. The park offers different gardens for wedding venues. They chose the Rustic Cabin site which was perfect for them. The view from the top of this hill overlooking the Hartford skyline was breathtaking. The cabin itself was so cozy and inviting. Pam Slocum was responsive to our phone calls and questions. We were never left waiting. She worked efficiently with our caterer to meet the wishes of the couple. We would recommend this venue to any couple considering Wickham Park for their special day.

My husband and I knew that we wanted to have an outdoor location for our rustic July wedding, but we were concerned about rain or how hot an outdoor space could. We visited the Log Cabin and garden in July 2013 on one of the hottest days of the summer, and we were relieved to find there was a tent connected to the cabin, a breeze (in addition to fans) under the tent, and air conditioning in the cabin, which made it feel comfortable despite the heat. Overall, Wickham was a wonderful space for our reception. It was great for pictures (with the Hartford skyline in the background), and many guests commented on how beautiful the setting was, amazed that they hadn't been there before. I loved having access to the cabin for dancing, food buffet/drinks/desserts, and cake cutting, the tent for eating, and the garden for photos, relaxing, and lawn games that we brought. The park also had signs posted to remind other park guests that the cabin area was closed for an event, and the park staff they had available during the reception did a great job of reminding people of this and asking them to move as needed (particularly during our pictures). The log cabin and garden do seem to book quickly and fairly far in advance (a year out there were no remaining Saturdays in July, which is how we ended up with a Sunday wedding date), so if you're interested, I would contact them sooner rather than later.

Our experience with Wickham was fantastic. The location (the cabin and ceremony site overlooking the Hartford skyline) was ideal. We had many friends later comment on the site and say how it was one of the most beautiful- if not the most- venues they've been to. In terms of outdoor locations...it is hard to beat in this area without breaking the bank.
The staff was wonderful and was helpful from beginning to end. Also a fine point to make is that it is a fantastic location for photography. I am a photographer and must say that your wedding will yield stunning photographs (with the right photographer obviously).
You won't be disappointed with Wickham, they're great.

If you are looking for an indoor/outdoor wedding venue held adjacent to beautifully maintained gardens, then Wickham Park should be at the top of your list. The venue was able to accommodate a very casual or highly sophisticated wedding, which was wonderful. I was married there last fall and had a wonderful experience. The photo opportunities were amazing. Rhonda was wonderful to coordinate with throughout the planning process. We were able to have the wedding of our dreams on a very limited budget, and feel like we did not have to sacrifice anything. I would highly recommend Wickham Park for a wedding site for any future brides.

We held our daughters wedding at Wickham Park in June. Rhonda and her staff were absolutely wonderful! They started by meeting us after a major snow storm to view the wedding cabin site. Rhonda provided many pictures of June weddings so we could see the site in full bloom. From there things went very smoothly. Their contract was very precise and clear as to how things worked. They worked with us as far as leaving items for the wedding at the cabin the night before. We extended the amount of time we had originally contracted for, to allow for clean up. The fact that they have plenty of tables and chairs available as part of your rental, saved us a huge cost. They were so accommodating that they allowed us to visit the site in June 2010, on the w/e that we would be having the wedding, the next year, to see what it looked like in full bloom and set up for a wedding.
The wedding was fabulous, the site was breathtaking... Our guests were in awe and haven't stopped talking about how beautiful and unique of a venue it was. We all had a wonderful time and Maggie and Joe couldn't have been happier. We have told many people about this hidden treasure. Thanks again to Rhonda and her staff.

Wickham Park is such an absolutely beautiful place to have a wedding ceremony. There is a variety of gardens to choose from and each is as lovely and full of flowers as the last. At the top there is a beautiful view of Hartford for pictures. It can be a little pricy but at least your guests do not need to pay to get in.

Wickham Park and Pamela were incredible! I really liked the space when I saw pictures of it years ago, and fell in love with it when I saw it in person. The space is covered in greenery and flowers, plus there were myriad other gardens to take pictures for our engagement photos and for the groom and his party. Although it was cold, the weather held out and it was breathtaking. Pamela delivered everything we asked for and the event went off without a hitch from her or the venue. My only disappointment was the amount of time we were given - our ceremony started late due to the photographer taking too long with groom and groomsmen shots in a different part of the park, and because we were only allowed 8 hours everything got pushed and we had little time for dancing. However that wasn't the space's fault, I just wish we could have stayed a bit later.

Everything about Wickham Park was wonderful! From the first time we met, Pam the event coordinate was so helpful as well as calming and sweet for a nervous bride. She answered many questions throughout the months leading up to the wedding, including asking past guests their opinion on something I was concerned about. She met with us the month before at the site to make sure all my questions were answered and logistics were set up. The park is absolutely beautiful! We got married at the area near the cabin up on the hill in July. The gardens were stunning and the pictures were beautiful. They have everything you need in terms of tables and are flexible in the set-up to make it just as you want. The cabin turned out adorable with our decorations. Everyone commented on beautiful the venue it was and how different it was, being able to spend time inside and outside throughout the night. Couples got great pictures overlooking the fields and Hartford. We even got to see the Hartford fire works that night! Wickham will always have a special place in my heart.

My husband and I recently got married at wickham park in sept 2011. The 23rd of sept to be exact , prob the day we got the most rain in the year of 2011!! I had to write to let everyone know how awesome all the staff and Rhonda were! From the minute I looked at the park a year before all the way up to our rehearsal there, our ceremony and reception. They were more than accommodating to let me bring all my things to the cabin two nights before, my caterer and wedding planner were able to get in early on my wedding day to rearrange appropriately for the unplanned rain.
The staff on scene that evening were beyond nice, helpful and let us do our thing unless we needed them. The grounds are beautiful for pictures and the ceremony and then cabin has a fireplace and air condition for all times of the year! I would highly recommend this to any bride who wants to put their own touch and wants to control her budget. It can be anything from simple to over the top and still rain! Amazing day!!

We were very pleased with the English Garden and were able to rent it for just one hour, which was all we needed. They didn't block it off, though, so another couple tried to come into the garden near the end of our hour, but left quickly when we asked.

I was married in the English Garden this past Memorial day weekend. The garden & the entire park are beautifully mantained. I rented the chairs directly through the park, and they set up and took down for much cheaper then any other vendor I talked with. I didn't need to decorate much of course because of all the flowers in bloom in the garden already. It was a really beautiful ceremony site and I'm so happy I choose to have it there.

The only problem we ran into was the park didn't open as early as we were told it would and some of our vendors had to wait at the gate for 15-20 minutes. Including the groom and best man.

Wickham Park was the perfect venue for our wedding. Many of our guests commented that it was the most beautiful venue they had ever been to. Pamela was professional and responsive and was happy to answer all the little questions we thought of along the way. We had 145 guests at our wedding and they all fit comfortably. (We used the garden chairs which allows more people to sit around each table). We were very fortunate with the weather. Had it rained, space would have been tight. Our guests loved roaming the garden, sitting on the porch, and dancing in the cabin. The venue helped make our wedding so unique and soo beautiful. I can't imagine having gotten married anywhere else.

Pam was my contact for Wickham Park. She was very helpful and got back to me in a very timely manner. She also was very kind when it came to reminding me that I had a payment coming up or even how to do my layout for the day of seating. The staff at the park were all very kind and courteous and set up the area beautifully. Everyone at my wedding raved about how beautiful my venue was and how they were all planning to come back and visit the park another time.

Rhonda was amazing to work wioth. she did have trouble responding to my call ors emails in a timely manner but when we did speak she was amazing. she answered all the questions before i even could ask them. the aprk looked great. everything was eprfect i couldnt have asked for more.

Perfect for our needs!
We rented the wickham Pavillion for our more casual wedding ceremony and reception. Sarah was very helpful with any planning questions I had, the rangers were very thorough with cleaning before us and offered to take away any full trash we needed throughout the day. We were able to decorate any way we wanted using thumbtacks and command strip (obviously cleaning after ourselves) we had our pizza truck pull right up to the venue to cook and serve. Everyone had such a great time and we are so grateful for the opportunity to have had our special day there.

My new husband and I just got married at Wickham Park in the Cabin Garden and everything was perfect. The Cabin and attached tent were a perfect setting for our afternoon reception, and matched our rustic theme perfectly. We couldn't have been happier with the service from Pamela and the entire crew at the park. Our guests loved the flexibility of being outside to enjoy the beautiful spring weather while still having the cabin and tent to take shelter if it got a little chilly.

Absolutely beautiful venue to have our ceremony at, especially in the English Garden. It's quiet and serene. It is also a great value for the park, and all of the money goes towards maintaining the park.

Very lovely location. We were at the log cabin area of the park. The scenic overlook there is breath taking.

I am so happy with Wickham park! The park is absolutely gorgeous! The Emerald Room was unbelievably elegant. Beyond perfect for a small wedding. Pam was wonderful, she helped so much during the planning process. There was a mistake made with our payments, but we paid with checks instead of cash making it was easy to track, so once we caught on and alerted Pam she fixed everything readily. My second complaint was the night of our rehearsal dinner. Somehow during unpacking my MOH's car her keys got locked inside along with all our dresses crammed on top of each other! The park closed at 6:30 and at 6:10 the park ranger was kicking us out while we were on hold with AAA. He was rude and not helpful at all about what was going on. It was definitely a strange situation, and we live an hour away so we couldn't run home and get the spare, but to raise his voice and repetitively say he didn't care was unnecessary in my opinion. He could have at least gave us until actual closing time! Anyways, I don't want that one staff member to effect how I feel about the park, it was a magical place to have my ceremony/reception and I definitely recommend it to anyone!

Our wedding here was amazing! The grounds were fantastic, the views were sensational and it was a perfect place to have our vows, reception and dance the night away!

My husband and I were married in the English Garden at the end of August and everything was just beautiful. They set up the chairs nicely and the night before we decorated the gazebo. It was just stunning.
We were lucky with great weather and the 5pm ceremony was a perfect time. Rhonda was wonderful to work with during the whole process, and they trimmed up the bushes for us right before our ceremony because they were looking a little ragged - great service!!
However, I have one complaint - I was appalled at how rude the gatekeeper was for our rehearsal the night before the wedding. There was a huge traffic jam on I-84 and when I called them to let them know we would be a *little* late (as in 15 minutes), he told me he wasn't waiting and if we stayed even a minute later than 7:30 or 8pm (Whatever was closing time - I don't remember) he would lock us in the park. He had a gruff attitude and was extremely rude to everyone in my bridal party who were arriving in separate cars. It definitely worried me and stressed me out - NOT what I needed the night before the big day!!
Other than that incident, I had no issues and thought it was the perfect venue for our ceremony. Rhonda was great and so informative. Beautiful setting and I'm so happy we chose that location.

Beautiful venue. My wedding was outside of the newly built Emerald Room and Irish gardens. Specifically it was in the Oriental Garden. For a small wedding, this was the perfect space. The garden was stunning and me and my guests adored it. The ceremony was absolutely what I wanted, and just in nature and peaceful and serene. The reception room, the Emerald Room, was the perfect space for my small party (50). It felt full, but not crowded. One thing I really liked is it's round and small, so I could easily spot my new husband wherever he went. If you're looking for a location for a smaller party, this worked very well and there is a little private wedding suite which was very helpful in getting ready. There is also ample parking, so no concerns about that, which is nice to have one less thing to worry about.
So the less than stellar stuff:
Due to restrictions we did have to close down the party sooner than I would have liked, so keep in mind it may be a early night. I also heard after the fact that there was another unregulated wedding happening nearby in the Oriental Gardens, and there were a couple unrelated people watching us from afar. Not that it affected the big day! But if privacy is high on your list of concerns keep that in mind.

Wickham Park is a beautiful venue, but one I found a bit difficult to handle. Having a wedding in any of the gardens is wonderful but in case of rain there really isn't much of a backup plan. I feel like there needs to be a better option as what a couple can do if it rains, sometimes a tent isn't enough and they charge a lot to put up a tent. On top of that you have to decide the weekend of and they won't take it down or put it back up right before, once the tent is up its up for the whole weekend which I think is ridiculous. They did give us an extra hour of set up time for no charge which I am very grateful for.
Only if you book the Cabin do you have an indoor option so if you like the Cabin that I would recommend as it has a beautiful overlook of Hartford.

Wickham Park was a beautiful site for our wedding, the one thing that disappointed me was that they did not put on the air conditioning at our reception, despite my requests. Other than that, it was a fantastic night!

The location is beautiful however I was disappointed with service. The day of rehearsal there was no staff there to guide us and we conducted the rehearsal ourselves. We weren't given direction if it were to rain on our wedding day. The day of the wedding there was also no staff at all!! Luckily my caterer took over and everything was amazing!! I love the location but disappointed in that aspect. They do respond promptly through email, just wish we actually saw someone!!

Venue is beautiful, but we ran into a few problems. The park rangers on duty were great at managing the rain during our reception, but we had a few problems with the coordinator throughout the process. I’d still probably recommend though

Do not plan your ceremony here if you don't have a rain plan somewhere else. The week of our wedding the weather had changed to rain. When I contacted them they informed me that they are an outdoor place an our "only" rain plan was a tent for an additional 400.00. We had already given them 600 an were never told about the tent or there "rain plan".
When I challenged the women about the large cost of a tent she became very rude. Emailing me in red letters an refusing to let me speak with her boss. Further more when I asked her why there was never a talk about rain her excuse was that "brides don't like to hear about rain" um what? Not only that but after I'd canceled our reservation and explained how unhappy we were she took forever to reply. I expected a refund for her over all lack of communication and are still waiting to hear a week later. We were extremely excited to use the parking being how beautiful the site was but I can't get over how poor we have been treated for the money we have paid. She also never offered the cabin as a rain option.Being we had paid the 600.00 the cabin cost already on a different garden I figured she would attempt to be more helpful an empathetic towards our feelings with the rain. To all brides who read this make sure you go over every detail before you agree. Rain plan, cancel policy, times, parking, ect.. None of this was discussed an came back to bite us.

We had our wedding here this September. They are NOT flexible or helpful. Wedding needs to be shut down at 10:30 and began yelling at my caterer and band because we did not pack up fast enough AND threatened to take our security deposit away. There was only 2, 18 year-olds to help with security and they were not nice. BEWARE brides, this venue only goes to 10:15 tops...and for all the money we spent we should have treated with more respect and kindness. It IS beautiful but I wish I had had my wedding elsewhere...

I had a beautiful wedding at Wickham Pavilion, no thanks to the event coordinator. To list the number of issues we had communicating with Pamela over the past year would be absolutely ridiculous. Once the "sale" was made, little by little we found out that we were lied to and the park was misrepresented over and over. It would be one thing if Pamela were busy or spread thin, but she gave me the distinct impression that she just had no ounce of concern for our experience.
The park is gorgeous, and even though in the end we had an amazing day, I would never recommend to anyone to get married there. It was a miserable frustration that came close to ruining our wedding day, which was hardly high maintenance. We had a conscious wedding--part of holding it at a non-profit park. If it weren't for the support of our amazing family and friends, we would have had to cancel or relocate last minute.
I'm amazed that more reviews don't reflect the terrible service. Nearly every vendor we spoke with also said the park is difficult to deal with. Every other business we hired was a pleasure, so I know it's not us. We requested our guests donate to a charity (one where I work, the caterer we hired, our church, or their choice) as their gift, and half-way through the year I removed Wickham from that list. We were also planning on donating to each charity we worked with, but I can't in good faith support the park again.
I can't imagine I'm the only bride that was treated this way, and I expect an apology to my guests more than anything. For anyone who has had this issue and not spoken up--you're doing a beautiful park a disservice by not alerting the director to this issue. I've never in my life had such a negative experience or worked with someone less professional.
I wish to be connected with the director (I've requested before and been denied) so that I can recount the entire experience. It's truly a shame the park supports this type of practice. Warn your friends!
