Stephen is truly incredible! He photographed both our engagement session and our wedding day, and we can’t imagine having had anyone else behind the camera. From the very beginning, he made us feel so comfortable by letting us just be ourselves and capturing all the natural, candid moments. It never felt stiff or staged, and that made all the difference.
He’s also just the best person to have around—so friendly, fun, and outgoing. It honestly felt like we’d known him forever! We’ve only received our preview gallery so far, and we are absolutely obsessed! Every photo is full of emotion, movement, and genuine moments—we can’t stop looking at them and are counting down the days until we see the rest!
We would recommend Stephen a thousand times over. If you’re thinking about booking him—do it!! You’ll be so happy you did! -

There are no words to fully express how wonderful it was to work with Stephen. I was fortunate enough to have gotten to work with him in 2022 when he shot my cousin’s wedding. After that day, I knew, without a doubt, that when I got married I wanted Stephen to be the photographer. Not only is he EXCEPTIONAL at what he does, but he is also a kind, funny, and wonderful person and to have him with you throughout the day will make for a smooth and perfectly captured day. He captured every single moment and picture I wanted (following my extremely long and detailed shot list), made sure we stuck to the timeline, but also kept things calm and easygoing during a long and busy day. His communication was amazing from start to finish, and while we have only gotten the preview so far, i am already ECSTATIC with the results. Truly could not recommend him more. 100000/10 photographer and person. -

Stephen is such a talented photographer! From our engagement photos to the wedding day, he made us feel comfortable and natural, which really shows in the final images. His photos are beautiful and genuine, and he captured all the special moments from the day.
During our engagement shoot, we were a bit awkward and nervous about posing for photos, but Stephen made us feel at ease. He is friendly, fun, and incredibly easy to talk to.
On the wedding day, Stephen did a great job coordinating the first look. It was a special moment between me and my now-husband, and Stephen captured it perfectly. Throughout the ceremony and reception, he was like a fly on the wall—there when you needed him, but never intrusive.
We were impressed with how quickly he sent us the sneak peek/teaser album. It was wonderful to see those beautiful moments so soon after the wedding. The full online album was delivered within the promised timeline, and the photos are simply amazing. Our friends and family haven’t stopped commenting on how stunning the photos are and how lucky we were to have such a great photographer.
I highly recommend Stephen to anyone looking for a talented photographer who not only takes beautiful, genuine photos but also makes the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free. -

Stephen was the very first vendor we contacted after we booked our venue - he had photographed my best friend’s wedding and immediately I knew we had to have him for ours. Since the very start Stephen was nothing but kind, helpful and friendly. He was so easy to work with and made our wedding day so seamless. He captured all our favorite moments throughout the night and got all our pictures back so quickly!! We cannot believe how wonderful everything came out, it’s hard to choose our favorites! We cannot recommend him enough!! -

Simply the best!
Stephen was the best decision my husband and I made in our wedding planning process. He truly made all my wedding photo dreams come true. He met with us before hand and was kind, enthusiastic, and just so genuine. The first look and wedding portraits we took before our ceremony is a memory we will both never forget. We walked through beacon hill and Stephen made sure we hit all the perfect spots. Not to mention he carried around my veil, fur shall, and flowers! He made both of us feel so comfortable and almost as if we were just hanging out with an old friend. After each shot he would be just as excited as we were. You can truly tell he loves what he does and the people he works with. Our family also cannot stop talking about how awesome he was. We received so many sneak peaks only a few days after our 12/2 wedding and they are so beautiful. Every person who sees them comments on how amazing our photos are. Stephen is truly the best!!! -

Stephen is exceptional!!!
I’m not sure I can put into words how grateful my husband and I are for Stephen. First off- he is a true gentleman. Stephen is so kind, helpful, professional and passionate- everyone adored him! Not only was he the best photographer ever, but he was also the saving grace of keeping us to the timeline and he also navigated dealing with some interesting wedding party/ family personalities like a pro.
His eye for photography is phenomenal. I have never met anyone so utterly talented. You can see and feel the emotion in every single photo. The colors in his photos are so vibrant. My husband and I are not pros at posing for the camera, but it came effortlessly with Stephens help. The photos we have received so far from our 11/28 wedding are gorgeous and exceed our wildest dreams.
Booking Stephen for your engagement shoot/wedding will be the best decision of your life!! -

If you are considering booking Stephen - don't hesitate, do it! I cannot recommend Stephen enough - he was hands down the best decision that we made for our wedding. As a couple without a wedding planner, we really wanted a photographer that was going to guide us through the day and help to shape our timeline. Stephen (and Alex, our amazing second shooter) were by our side from the minute they got there until they left. Every time I looked up for direction, there he was. I was so concerned about running behind, or being too focused on timeline the day of the wedding. Looking back, I was so carefree and in the moment - I think I asked what time it was once. I also didn't look at the weather once because I knew Stephen would take care of whatever we needed to do! Miraculously the rain held out until we finished photos.. It gave me such peace of mind knowing that Stephen had our backs the entire day. And, OF COURSE, our photos are incredible!! Stephen captured the true love and joy that not only we felt on our wedding, but that everyone around us felt. He captured not only the big moments but these small moments in between that add such a special touch to the wedding. We got married at the Omni Parker House, a very old hotel with it's own charm. Stephen embraced this charm and took advantage of all the amazing spaces and lighting the venue offered. He also made sure every element of the photo was perfect, my dress, veil, train. It was also amazing to have Stephen photograph our engagement shoot and be at our welcome party the night before the wedding! It really made us and our bridal party feel so comfortable for the next day. And if you're still reading this - literally every single member of my bridal party and family has been raving about how amazing Stephen was. So professional, knowledgable, calming, sweet and caring. We could not have asked for a better photographer, and person, to trust with our special day and will be forever grateful that we found him. Thank you, Stephen!! -

Highly Recommend!!
Stephen is the BEST! He went out of his way to meet us on-site prior to our wedding to scope out potential locations for pictures. He was always super responsive to any questions, making you feel at ease. Stephen just naturally fits into the fold on your wedding day, making everyone feel comfortable. He did a great job giving suggestions and providing direction to get the perfect shot! We absolutely LOVE our pictures and are so glad we had Stephen to capture our special day! -

Due to trouble with our original photographer, we had to find someone last minute for our wedding in June, and we are so glad we found Stephen. His professionalism, kindness, and attitude were fantastic from the moment we met him. His photos speak for themselves in quality and quantity. His second shooter Randy was also excellent to work with and they both made our wedding day easy and special. Stephen listened to our request prior to the big day to have limited formal photos and majority natural photos taken. After the wedding many of our guests mentioned that they barely noticed that we had photographers, which showed just how talented they both are. They stayed out of site, yet somehow were right in the middle of the action the whole time. The photos came out wonderfully and we could not recommend Whiting Photography enough. Thank you so much to Stephen and Randy for giving us memories to last a lifetime!

Stephen is AMAZING!! From the beginning when we booked him and had our initial meeting, to our engagement photo shoot, to the wedding day- it was flawless! I cannot recommend Stephen highly enough! From the very beginning, he was with us every step of the way, capturing all the important moments from our engagement shoot to our wedding day. He was incredibly professional, yet so personable that we felt comfortable around him from the start. Truly, we spent an hour and a half on our intake call with him and during our engagement shoot had him take pictures of us in the water! He really focuses on color and capturing the emotions of the day and he did that with finesse. Exactly what we were looking for.
On the day of our wedding, he truly blew us away with his pictures. Every single photo was absolutely stunning and captured the essence of our special day perfectly. He was so creative in his approach and truly went above and beyond to make sure we had the most beautiful memories of our wedding day.

If you can book Stephen as your photographer, DO IT NOW. He is a true miracle worker. We started with Stephen when I hired him to document our proposal. I googled “LGBTQ friendly photographer near me”, and Stephen came up. I fell in love with his work for many reasons, particularly the way he captures emotion. Looking through the beautiful photos on his website, I felt like the strangers on my screen were old friends. He photographed our proposal and our wedding day, and the photos were just stunning.
Looking now at our beautiful gallery, of our actual friends and family, I can’t even tell you how thankful we are. We love that he followed our story from the proposal on, and can’t wait for him to capture more important moments in the future! We had so many wonderful comments about our photos and our amazing photography team. Stephen and Jason made everyone feel so comfortable in front of the camera, and his work is amazing.
Stephen - thank you thank you, for being the very best! You made these girls who don’t usually love their photos being taken feel like royalty, and gave us such gorgeous photos we will cherish forever.
For our LGBTQ friends out there- finding vendors is not always easy. The heteronormativity in the wedding industry can run deep and be super frustrating. Let me tell you, Stephen and his team were a dream. There was not a GLIMPSE of heteronormative nonsense from them. From the forms we filled out to his presence in person - it was all perfect. Do your self a favor and book this gem of a human, ASAP.

The perfect choice for us
When my now-husband and I were looking for a photographer, we struggled to find someone who did not over-saturated their photographs or edit them in a way that washed out the sky and surrounding environment. I stumbled across Stephen and immediately fell in love with how he captured beautiful images that were crisp and professional, without compromising the true colors and beauty of the background. We also loved that his package included an engagement photo session and a wedding album, which was a must for us. We had a great engagement photo session with him, but Stephen really shined in a wedding setting. He was easy to be around, unflappable while corralling large unruly groups for the formals, and was somehow both everywhere and out of sight. We decided to add a second photographer and absolutely loved Amanda as well - they made a great team and we felt super comfortable around them. Stephen also sent us a sneak peak of some photos only a week after the wedding, which was such an amazing gesture when we were desperate to relive the day. Everyone gushes about the quality of his photographs - we had a surprise cold June day but he captured the beauty of the cloudy sky in a way that made the photos unique and special. I highly recommend him as your wedding photographer - we would book him again in an instant!

Where do I begin! From our very first introductory meeting, Stephen's presence was so warm and welcoming, and his genuine excitement to work with his clients made the world's difference. He was so flexible, so communicative, responded patiently to every question in such a timely manner, and really helped us plan and visualize our big day. On the wedding day itself, Stephen was punctual, gave wonderful direction if needed, kept us laughing, and worked so incredibly seamlessly with all other vendors involved. His style of shooting special candid moments is exactly what we wanted, and we are so beyond happy with our wedding gallery! We also got all our photos back so quickly! Awesome wedding photographer!!!
Stephen photographed our wedding on December 4, 2021 and he was the absolute best! From the start, we knew Stephen would be the right choice because he really cares about getting to know the couples he works with. He does an engagement shoot with every wedding package so that he can meet the couple beforehand. We absolutely loved our engagement pictures and Stephen made the whole experience so comfortable. He is really easygoing and calm and a great presence to have around.
We just got our wedding gallery back (such a quick turnaround - and Stephen had already sent us around 50 sneak peeks just days after the wedding!) and we are so happy. When we were talking to photographers, we expressed that we did not want to do a first look but that we wanted to get some photos together outside before it got dark. With a December wedding this was a challenge. Multiple photographers said they could not do it but Stephen said he could. The outdoor photos that we got are truly incredible and Stephen got some insane sunset shots as well! And the photos inside are just as amazing. Stephen is really an expert with lighting. More importantly, Stephen captured the joy of the day and everyone looks so natural. For example, the photos Stephen took of the wedding party are so cute - they don't look awkward or staged at all (which, in my opinion, those often do!). We have received so many compliments from family and friends on the photos.
In addition to the pictures themselves, Stephen was super professional to work with, always responsive, energetic, and helpful. My mom said, "I love how easy he made it. It never felt like getting the pictures was in the way of the party." Stephen truly loves his job and his joy is infectious. When he was taking our wedding photos, he kept saying "I'm just so happy right now!" It is awesome to be surrounded by that energy on your wedding day! We would recommend Stephen to everyone and would love to work with him again in the future. -

The most joyous wedding photos!
I would absolutely recommend Whiting Photography to anyone! Stephen was so great to work with and our wedding photos came out amazing. I can’t stop looking at them and every time I do I have a huge smile. Prior to our wedding Stephen was responsive and answered any and all questions we had. When rain was in the forecast days before our wedding, Stephen went above and beyond and visited our venue the day before to scope out alternative photo locations which put me at such ease!
The wedding photos truly radiate pure joy and love and capture how much fun my husband and I have together and how we are always laughing. Stephen also got plenty of killer dance floor moments! As people who don’t love having their photos taken, Stephen made us feel so comfortable and we were really able to enjoy our first look together. He was so easygoing and wonderful work with, I have been in quite a few weddings and I haven’t always found that to be the case.
If you are looking for a fabulous photographer, look no further!! Our wedding photos are fabulous and I love every single one of them, Stephen is so talented!! -

Absolutely Amazing
I knew Stephen was a good photographer when hiring him but GOSH he exceeded all expectations. Four day after the wedding, he sent me about 60 pictures (quickest turnaround of all time, am I right??) and the pictures are SO good. The lighting and quality of each picture blows my mind. I'm having a hard time putting into words just how good the pictures came out. He truly is a fantastic photographer.
From the beginning, Stephen was responsive and helpful. He helped me decide whether or not to do a first look (we decided too, and I'm so glad we did). He was so helpful on the day of the wedding. He knew I was super stressed and he kept checking in to make sure I was good and that we were getting all the pictures I was hoping for.

4 “photo shoots” with Stephen!
Stephen is fantastic. He photographed our engagement photos, our small wedding ceremony during COVID, our rehearsal dinner, AND our larger wedding this year. Throughout our (extended) wedding planning process, he’s been so easy to work with – responsive, communicative, and supportive of our changes in plans. We’ve been so happy with the quality of his work. The candid pictures are incredible and the colors are so vibrant. We loved that Stephen was both laidback and extremely organized (this eased a lot of the bride’s stress during day of). It is true that you spend a lot of time with your photographer, but that was very easy with Stephen, in fact he feels like a part of our extended family! -

Amazing photos and even better person!
It is hard to describe in words just how amazing our experience with Stephen was from start to finish. Stephen was very responsive, kind, understanding, and super helpful, especially as we were forced to navigate and re-plan our big day due to the confusing and constantly evolving challenges coronavirus threw at us this year. In the end, we had the perfect day, and Stephen was able to capture the emotion of every moment in his pictures. The photos blew us away, and our family and friends are still talking about how amazing he was 8 weeks later, especially his unique and creative ideas to give us more than just traditional wedding photos. Since our wedding, we've had family & friends asking for his contact information so he can also work his magic during their events. Stephen's pictures are amazing, but it was equally notable that he was truly a part of the intimate group present at our wedding. Everyone felt like they got to know him, and he was very attentive to the details of the day, and accommodating to all our guests' requests. We are planning to throw a future wedding reception and will definitely be coordinating with Stephen's schedule to make sure he can help capture that the fun and exciting emotions of that event as well! We would recommend Stephen to anyone, you will not be disappointed! -

I was so lucky to find Whiting Photography and could not have asked for a better photographer. Not only is he an unbelievable artist and capturer of memories, he is also an amazing person. As the bride I had very little knowledge of weddings and what happens behind the scenes in planning one and Stephen was always an email or phone call away. Even when something unrelated to the photos came up he was happy to answer any questions I had. He truly felt like a friend only a few short months after meeting him, and many months before the wedding even happened!
Something that really stood out for my husband and I was how aware he was of all of the surroundings. At one point during the reception it began to rain slightly outside and he found us on the dance floor to see if we wanted to take a rain photo on the outdoor patio by the fireplace. We were thrilled to and when we got outside Stephen magically produced a clear umbrella for the picture. It is easily one of our favorite shots and is still on our venue's website a year later. Another moment I'll never forget is when the early bus left for the hotel before the end of the wedding. My husband and I ran out last minute to say goodbye to both of our grandmothers and some other of our older relatives. And as we were on the bus giving hugs and kisses we noticed Stephen was right there one the bus to capture those moments!! Amazing, I know. He's right in the mix without you ever even really noticing!! I swear he has a sixth sense about where everyone is and what's happening throughout the wedding!
I have received endless compliments on the photos from our wedding. They are absolutely gorgeous! Stephen has a way of capturing the moment that I had never experienced before. I am not one to pose for pictures, choosing instead to let the moment happen, and he was more than capable of catching each moment and freezing it in time for us. I've had many friends who were at the wedding,and some who were not but saw the photos, ask for Stephen's information for their own weddings because they were just so impressed.
I am forever grateful to have found Stephen Whiting and to have gotten the opportunity to work with Whiting Photography and cannot wait until my twins are born so he can take our family pictures! (Yes we are now pregnant with twin girls a year after the wedding). He is most definitely our forever photographer!!

Of all wedding vendors, we anticipated finding a photographer could present some challenges. There are so many options to choose from all with varying levels of experience, quality, price, and personality. For us, of course quality was important but even more so we wanted to make sure we meshed well with our photographer and would enjoy & share in our special day with them. After tons of research, my wife reached out to 20+ photographers, researched some more, heard back from few and connected with zero. Then, we found Stephen! From the moment we reached out to him, he was responsive, beyond professional, and easy to talk to. He took time to “meet” us on Skype, learn about us & our relationship, and listen to and understand the vision of pictures for our wedding day. He worked with our budget and guided us throughout the process from beginning to end. During our engagement photoshoot with him, we knew we made the right decision. Stephen helped us set up our wedding day timeline, checked in with us every few months to see if we needed any help or recommendations for other vendors… he did all the things that you really can’t put a price on. On the day of our wedding, Stephen and his assistant Sharon took charge of our large group, were very patient with us, guided us to the pictures we had asked for, and miraculously was able to capture a good picture of us with 7 screaming nieces & nephews! Stephen & Sharon are both extremely talented. The main thing that drew us to Stephen was not only his ability to capture the moments and pictures we wanted but also his passion in photographing the moments in between the pictures. Thankfully, both Sharon & Stephen seem to have that passion in common because looking over our wedding photos brought us not only right back to the special moments we shared, but reminded us of the feelings & conversations we shared as well. A genuine soul with an unbelievable eye, Stephen was so attentive and helpful on our wedding day, and all the days leading up. He really took the time to get to know both my husband and me personally to make us feel comfortable, confident, and safe to be ourselves in front of the camera. When we got our wedding pictures, we were absolutely blown away. Stephen and his team were able to capture, what in retrospect, feels like every single moment, glance, and true emotion felt on our day. He read the room remarkably and always seemed be in the right place at the right time. He understood the importance of the relationships and small intimate family moments and made sure to capture them all equally and beautifully.
We cannot thank Stephen and his team enough for everything they did. He had our backs in ways that far extended the responsibilities of a photographer and we are so very touched and grateful for that and will cherish these photos forever!

We worked with Stephen Whiting and his team for both our engagement photos and for our wedding. They. Are. AMAZING. Stephen captured every candid moment, got to know who we are as a couple and then worked to incorporate that knowledge into our pictures, and was overall just amazing. We were first drawn to Stephen's booth at the Boston wedding expo by the bright colors and fun, playful nature of many of his photos. All I can say is, wow! Stephen was fantastic from the very beginning. We chose him because of his talent for catching those little moments that make everything so personal, and also his manner, which is somehow both super professional but also easygoing and fun.
A year ago, I didn't think that I would want engagement photos, but they came with our photo package, and I'm glad we did them. We got to spend an afternoon with Stephen, so we got to know each other a little better and also we got used to posing etc (did I mention we aren't professional models? But Stephen made us look like we could be). Needless to say, our engagement photos were stunning - somehow Stephen had turned a gloomy day on the esplanade into perfect lighting and a wide range of pics from romantic to funny.
On our wedding day, Stephen and his crew were super professional, helped capture all the memories I wanted to save forever (such as my grandmother seeing me in my dress and her family jewelry for the first time). My husband and I just received the photos and spent last night poring over all of them, and it was really fun re-living all of the moments, big and little. -

Cheryl Sent on 10/07/2018It’s been about 3 months since our wedding, and now that everything has calmed down a bit, I would be remiss if the very first thing we did wasn’t to review Stephen / Whiting Photography. We met Stephen at an Expo, and from our first hello we knew he was the photographer we wanted to work with. His art matched the aesthetic I wanted; his personality and demeanor matched the feel my wife wanted. We wound up hugging at that first introduction, and every interaction afterward was just as easy.
Stephen was incredibly flexible with us for our engagement shots, and met us in our home to photograph us drinking mimosas and making pancakes. Stephen never felt like a stranger with a camera. He felt like a friend we had over for breakfast, who happened to recommend where we should sit to get the best light! My wife absolutely hates having her photo taken, and Stephen kept us laughing and comfortable the whole time.
The most important part of our whole experience, our wedding day, could not have gone smoother. Because of Stephen’s communication prior to the wedding, and the questions asked from experience and from knowing us, Stephen and his team (+ second photographer) captured our wedding flawlessly. Our guests even complimented how stylist our photography team was, and they felt like guests and close friends. His team climbed on roofs to get sniper shots, climbed down rocks to get waterfront shots, and looked and acted professional and fun even though the temperature was over 90 degrees! We had fun on our wedding day, and a part of that was Stephen and his team’s commitment to our experience.
And the finished products? The photos Stephen sent us? We cried. Every. Single. Time. From sneak peak, to full portfolio. Wedding planning is stressful; there’s no practice run and no dress rehearsal with your full day. Pick a photographer who gets you, and your partner, and your vibe. For us, Stephen was all of that. We are forever grateful and couldn’t recommend him stronger. -

Amy Sent on 09/22/2018We cannot say enough about Stephen and how happy we are that we went with the Whiting Photography to capture our big day! I met Stephen at a bridal show when I still didn't know a date or the venue for my wedding. He remembered that detail and e-mailed me to offer venue suggestions if I needed them. Stephen's friendliness and attention detail were evident from beginning to the end. We had a great initial conversation on the phone that helped us understand each other's styles and Stephen was respectful of our budget and our needs. We met again in person a few weeks before the wedding at Stephen's request so he could make sure to capture all the important people/moments that we wanted and more. Aside from Stephen's prompt communications and professionalism, his work truly speaks for itself. He was able to maximize the lighting throughout the day, set up creative shots using what's available at the venue, and most importantly, he was able to capture all the important hugs, tears, joyfulness that were not posed. We were so happy with our choice just from how comfortable he made us on our wedding day and seeing the pictures only affirmed our feelings. Ja Sent on 04/28/2018Not your typical wedding photographer! We chose Whiting Photography for his artistic side. Stephen is very passionate about his work and it shows. He gets the shots that other photographers don’t even think of and he is a master of Bokeh! Thanks again Stephen for everything you’ve done for us!
