Amazing service and food
Wheelhouse Catering was fantastic. The food and service were exceptional, and their farm-to-table approach made everything incredibly fresh and flavorful. We did a family-style menu that was fully customizable, and the chef created a proposal based on our flavor palette and the season. Everything was incredible (especially the mushroom risotto!), and our guests are still raving about the wedding food—how rare is that! They handled all dietary restrictions effortlessly and were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Extremely professional and execute well even with a big wedding. Highly recommend. -

Working with Wheelhouse was the best experience!! I am the mom, and can say the food, professionalism, and presentation was top notch!! Each dinner tasted and was presented as if it was the only entree cooked!! The attention to detail and the freshness of the food was spectacular, also want to mention the appetizers and raw bar and charcuterie bar were delicious, beautifully presented and over the top!!

We could not have been happier with Wheelhouse Farm Catering for our wedding! From the very beginning, working with Jake made the planning process easy and exciting. And on the big day, Cassie and her team absolutely knocked it out of the park.
The food was outstanding — truly some of the best we’ve ever had, at a wedding or otherwise. Guests are still reaching out with comments like:
“This is the best chicken I’ve had in my entire life.”
“I’ve never had food this good at a wedding.”
“It felt like dining at a high-end restaurant, not just wedding food.”
“Everything tasted so fresh and homegrown.”

Every dish was vibrant, flavorful, and beautifully prepared — from the crisp, farm-fresh salad to the family-style entrées. Wheelhouse’s thoughtful touches, like the shared serving style and the printed “food philosophy,” made the meal feel warm, intentional, and memorable.
On top of it all, Cassie and her staff went above and beyond to take care of us — even helping me and my groomsmen with a quick outfit change after dinner and thoughtfully packing up desserts and pasta for us to enjoy later. Those little things made us feel so cared for.
Wheelhouse made our wedding meal unforgettable, and we cannot recommend them highly enough. If you’re looking for food that your guests will rave about long after the day is over, this is the team to trust. -

Words cannot adequately express how thrilled we were ...EVERYONE was with their dining experience (cannot just say "food") at our wedding!! Every single person had the same exact comment - hands down the most delicious food they've ever had at a wedding. Actually, forget the wedding part - it was simply just a delicious food experience. We think the "tomato galette" might become famous after Saturday. The donuts!!! But all the other desserts too - just amazing. Even the signage - just perfect!
I'm highlighting things, but it was quite literally everything.
The servers were amazing and could not have been more professional. Zofia managed the event and everything leading up to it and did everything to make sure it was all perfectly executed. Both Zofia and Jake not only lived up to our expectations, but also exceeded them. From start (a year ago) to finish they both were an absolute pleasure to work with. We just knew we were in good hands. They truly made the day unforgettable. -

I can't say enough good things about Cassie and the Wheelhouse team. My husband is a chef so he definitely likes nice food and from the start, we were so impressed with the team. They were very receptive and available for questions and it was a lot of fun designing the menu. They were the height of professionalism and took all of the food allergies very seriously and made sure every guest had a dish they could eat. During the actual wedding dinner, the food was absolutely amazing!! We got so many compliments on the food. They also designed special cocktails for us which were a huge hit. I would say that if you want fresh, locally sourced food with incredible service, definitely go with this catering team. -

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Jake and the Wheelhouse team! From the very beginning, they were warm, organized, and genuinely invested in making our wedding meal meaningful and memorable. Their team worked seamlessly with our other vendors and went above and beyond to accommodate our venue’s unique layout and the last-minute weather curveballs.
The food itself was exceptional—creative, seasonal, and absolutely delicious. Our guests are still raving about the passed hors d’oeuvres, perfectly cooked entrees, and the overall presentation. They created a menu that truly reflected who we are, and it was a highlight of the evening.
Even more impressive was the professionalism and calm their staff showed when a sudden microburst interrupted dinner. They adapted quickly and kept service smooth without missing a beat. From the early stages, it was clear not only how responsive they were, but the lengths they were willing to go to accommodate us and bring our vision to life. We used their bartending service for our wedding day, and they delivered in every way. In the face of a significant wind and rain storm, I watched their staff stay composed and greet every guest with a smile. The signature cocktails were incredible and fun. We can not thank Wheelhouse Farm enough. The planning process is obviously so incredibly stressful; but since the moment we booked with them we felt taken care of. They were ridiculously accommodating to our schedules. My wife and I have weird alternating schedules (service industry problems, amiright?!?) Jake and Cassie did everything in their power to ensure our menu was everything we dreamed of for our wedding, and we have received nothing but rave reviews about the food from our family and friends since. AND they take care of the bar! Our signature cocktails were perfectly crafted and executed. Miren worked with us diligently to develop a menu that would get everyone feeling groovy to get them on the dance floor and then out the door at the end of the night. We could not have asked for a better team to guide us through this process. We felt cared for and confident that it would all come together, and our feedback has fully confirmed that.

Booking Wheelhouse was the single best decision we made for our wedding!!! Jake, Cassie and the team worked with my fiance and I to create a menu that reflected our personal taste while appealing to all of our guests. We choose to serve our meal family style which allowed our guests to sample all of the incredible dishes Wheelhouse had to offer.
Oh and don't even get me started on cocktail hour!!! We opted for the raw bar in addition to passed apps, and when I tell you we were blown away, I mean it. My fiance and I joked with Jake that we wanted to make sure some of the apps were saved and he took it upon himself to build each of us a special plate where we could taste every app before joining the event,
I cannot thank the Wheelhouse team enough for their incredible food, attention to detail, and beyond fun attitudes. I would recommend them 100 times out of 100. Book Wheelhouse and you will NOT be sorry!! -

They collaborated with us to create a custom, farm-to-table menu that was not only beautiful but hearty and satisfying for all our guests. They expertly combined visual appeal with delicious flavors, and their cocktail appetizers were some of the best we’ve had. The highlights of the evening were the custom oyster and popcorn bars, which were major crowd-pleasers and tied back to two of our favorite things, giving guests a taste of what we love. Beyond the food, Wheelhouse worked closely with us to design a custom menu and accompanying signage, ensuring every detail, from name cards to bar signs, fit our vision for a casual, handwritten look and feel. Their attention to detail and commitment made the entire experience unforgettable. -

We are so grateful we found Wheelhouse for our rehearsal dinner. They executed our vision perfectly from the food menu to the table scape. Jake and Cassie were wonderful to work with throughout the whole experience. We worked with Wheelhouse for our wedding in October and cannot say enough positive things about them!! From day 1 Stephanie was super communicative, easy to work with and flexible - she and the team accommodated multiple menu changes and day-of updates all the way to the month before the wedding. But above all, the food and service were STELLAR. We put together a seasonally-focused menu with the perfect fall dishes to compliment our beautiful surroundings, and everything was fresh, unique and delicious - we still have guests bringing up how incredible the short ribs were! On top of that, the serving staff and bartenders were super friendly and pleasant. Overall we could not have been happier and will recommend them to anyone who is looking for a great caterer! -

Wheelhouse catered our wedding and blew us away with their attention to detail, their excellent communication, and, most importantly, their delicious food. Everyone was so sweet and fun to work with!
We began working with Wheelhouse about nine months prior to our wedding date, and from our very first meeting, it was evident we were in good hands. Stephanie steadily guided us for the first several months, helping us build our menu, plan the meal timeline, and provide overall guidance and suggestions. Since we didn't have a wedding planner, this was especially helpful for us. They asked us all the right questions to ensure we'd considered everything.
Co-founder Jake was at the helm in the two months prior to the event and on the day of. It couldn't have gone more smoothly, and every detail that we had discussed in prior conversations was covered. Also, the food was so good. So many guests shared with us how much they loved it.
We couldn't recommend Wheelhouse more! -

Every single thing we have eaten from the Wheelhouse kitchen is phenomenal. Being the in-house caterer for Valley View Farm made us so happy - not only because we throughly enjoy farm to table food but also appreciate all the seasonal options the chef creates! We enjoyed the Fall Farm Dinner the year before our wedding and while it was not our wedding menu, it gave us a perfect experience to understand the seasonal flavors and how enjoyable our wedding meal would be. Friendly staff and comprehensive chats to come up with our wedding menu with complete flexibility throughout the whole process. All the cocktail hour apps and grazing table were perfection and a beauty to behold and I am still talking about the seasonal beets on our dinner plate! We can’t wait to attend another farm dinner and tell the whole staff again how much we loved everything about our wedding. Book instantly! -

Wheelhouse catered our wedding at the Montague Retreat Center and they served the absolute best meal we have ever had at a wedding (and many of our guests agreed!). We loved how Wheelhouse crafted a menu with our favorite foods and dishes that were important to us, which really stood out compared to other caterers. Stephanie and Dakota were so easy and fun to work with; we felt truly taken care of throughout the planning process. They were incredibly attentive to guests with allergies and ensured that everyone had a full and delicious meal regardless of their dietary restrictions. All of the staff were so friendly and professional. Plus we had some wonderful signature cocktails. Incredible experience, highly recommended!

We hired Wheelhouse Farm to cater our wedding weekend in July 2021. Working with Wheelhouse, and Stephanie and Jake in particular, was an absolute pleasure! Their food was locally sourced, creative and absolutely delicious. They dropped off food for our welcome dinner and catered the wedding reception dinner, which was a buffet. They were incredibly communicative and organized. After hiring them, we had zero concerns about logistics of the service or food. I knew we were in good hands! They were also incredibly flexible and were able to accommodate us on our new date when we had to reschedule from July 2020 to July 2021 due to the pandemic.
We first spoke with Jake to get to know them, and he answered all of our questions and provided multiple menu options for our welcome dinner and reception appetizers and meal. After learning our preferences, he coordinated with the kitchen to create the menu options based on what was in season. He was very kind and patient as we requested to see a few different menu options early on.
We had a two-month out and a one-month out phone call with Stephanie to confirm the menu and numbers, etc. Once Jake knew she’d be the one on-site for the weekend of the wedding, we then worked directly with her. We had made the plan for our menu in 2020, and even when they had to accommodate some new dietary restrictions in 2021 they were incredibly flexible, even with less than two months until the wedding. After our check-in calls, Stephanie would send a detailed summary, including the action steps for both her and I so I could easily track what needed to get done. This was immensely helpful!! Stephanie also helped me coordinate with Florence Pie Bar for pies to be dropped off to the Wheelhouse kitchen so I could surprise my husband with those, in addition to the Flayvors of Cook Farm ice cream we had chosen for dessert through Wheelhouse. Stephanie even hand-delivered our food to our table during the reception to make sure we would sit and eat!
We did a lot of research before choosing a caterer, and we feel we got the absolute best food and the kindest, most professional service for a great price. Our guests raved about the food, and agreed that the people we worked with and the service was amazing! We feel so lucky to have worked with Jake, Stephanie, and the rest of the Wheelhouse crew, and would jump at the chance to work with them again. We hope to attend one of their farm dinners at some point too!

Last year I began my search for the perfect caterer for our outdoor wedding. I called and emailed many companies, but Wheelhouse really stuck out for me. They were detailed and thorough right from the beginning during our first phone call. We worked with Stephanie throughout the past year. She was helpful, knowledgeable, and always willing to answer my questions and work closely with what we wanted and needed.
Fast forward through many emails and several phone calls to my big day. Stephanie showed up early to begin setting up with a smile on and a calm presence, just what a bride needs! Their team served soup and bread as a first course and everyone said it was the best fall soup they ever had! My now husband doesn’t even like butternut squash soup but he ate the entire bowl. We served our main course family style. Again…everyone loved the food. It was so delicious!! Everything was cooked perfectly and was served to my guests hot. I still have people telling me it was the best!! I could have eaten several plates of food if my dress allowed (lol)
I recommend hiring Wheelhouse for your wedding or next event, you won’t be disappointed with the food, the people, or the service. Thank you Stephanie and the entire Wheelhouse team!! -

Honestly I am not the type of girl who likes to plan anything, but the second Valley View Farm recommended Wheelhouse catering and I spoke with Stephanie, I couldn’t wait to start planning out wedding. Stephanie was so easy to talk to, was there any time I needed to make changed or have questions AND prepared me for any and all things that I would need to rent when it came to dining utensils. I didn’t think it could get any easier and then enters Dakota – She gave me the breakdown of the cocktail hour all the way through to dinner and clean up. These people are amazing and all I had to do was listen and answer the questions they asked. SO EASY!!! Honestly the weeks leading up to the wedding everyone could not believe how calm I was and that is a huge testament to all the hard work Wheelhouse and Valley View Farm put in to making our day as magical and amazing as it was. Our DJ pulled us aside to let us know it was the best meal he has ever eaten at a wedding! Our guest are still talking about the fall of the bone chicken! Wheelhouse was nothing short of amazing. We had a family style dinner with a smoker on site. The service was incredible, our guests cannot stop raving about the food. One of the benefits of working with Wheelhouse is how customizable the menu is. We described our taste and got a menu that was perfectly suited to us, including a brownie sundae bar as opposed to a traditional wedding cake! The whole process of working with Stephanie was super simple and she helped us find affordable tableware rentals, coordinated a tasting, and accommodated many dietary restrictions. In addition to the food tasting amazing they also pay a lot of attention to detail to make sure it looks beautiful as well. All of this was also for a fairly affordable price. I highly recommend Wheelhouse as your wedding caterer! -

Wheelhouse is an absolutely wonderful company! Hiring them as our wedding caterer was one of the best decisions we made! With their incredible food, wonderful service and meticulous organization, we truly felt like we were in good hands. We took a risk in hiring them- in that we didn’t get a chance to try any of their food before the wedding- but we went on our gut instincts that they would be amazing and we weren’t let down. They talked us through every step of the way and were very honest, open, and flexible about the pricing of everything. Their team is extremely communicative and helped us feel very well taken care of. Although as the bride I didn’t get a chance to truly enjoy much of the food, I got rave reviews from all of our guests. The display was beautiful and the tastes were truly scrumptious. We used Wheelhouse for our rehearsal dinner (taco plates from their food truck) and for our wedding reception (buffet style meal for 175 guests). The menus for both nights were creative, incorporating locally sourced and seasonal ingredients, and the food was delicious! Wheelhouse also did an amazing job accommodating our vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free guests.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the communication from the Wheelhouse team is top notch. We worked closely with Jake and Stephanie. They were very easy to coordinate with and readily available to answer questions, which was extremely helpful during the wedding planning process. Shout out to Stephanie for running point on our wedding day...she was a rockstar and ensured everything went smoothly!
We’d recommend Wheelhouse to anyone, and we hope to get to eat some of their delicious food again sometime soon! -

Our goal was to have the *best wedding food ever* and Wheelhouse made it happen! From our first taste of their food (we went to one of their farm to table dinners the year before our wedding), we knew that they were the caterers for us. The team was amazing to work with from the beginning menu planning stages through helping us understand our options and making it work with a variety of dietary restrictions, to amazing service the night of, and everything in between. We wanted a menu that would reflect the fall flavors and the bounty that local farms had to offer at our October wedding, and the buffet menu they put together included cider braised brisket, beets, salad with kabocha squash, and more. An added bonus was the beautiful and delicious signature cocktails that they created for us. And best of all, our guests agree it was the best wedding good ever! -

The best choice I made in planning my wedding was booking Wheelhouse to cater it. I planned the wedding myself and dealt with an insane number of vendors. Our daughter and (now) son-in-law selected Wheelhouse to cater their wedding at Montague Retreat Center in August 2019. From butlered hors d' oeuvres to dessert, Wheelhouse created a seasonal menu with something delicious for everyone. Dinner service was family style and there was plenty of each dish to go around. The servers and bartenders were top notch and wonderful to work with. They had to be flexible since the weather was "iffy" and at the last minute, made the appropriate decision to set up the bar and hors d'oeuvres indoors. The staff made it all feel seamless.

I cannot speak highly enough of our experience working with Jake and Wheelhouse Catering! We booked Wheelhouse early on in our wedding planning process and found working with Jake to be easy and stress-free. Jake was highly responsive, friendly, and very organized. We cannot say enough good things about Wheelhouse: They were a joy to work with both in planning our wedding and the day of. They made our small, unusual venue work well. Their food was incredible. They are so dedicated to local food and so legit in their connection to local farms. They were so on point with in creating a menu for us based on our vague ideas about what it would be. More than all this they were thoughtful, genuine, and generally good people. Not being able to sample the food that was on the menu was a leap of faith on our part, but our confidence in Wheelhouse was rewarded by their incredible food and expert coordination.
The Food: We chose Wheelhouse because of their commitment to local food, but for the benefit of everyone else reading our review I’ll describe how delicious it was. Bottom line - they won rave reviews from our foodie friends as well as our meat- and- potatoes family. In our experience, wedding catering usually means sad, bland vegetables and dry meat. Not only was their beef juicy and full of flavor, but all of the vegetables tasted so fresh and the flavors of each one came through. Neither of us really like cauliflower, but we LOVED the cauliflower dish they made. For our meat dishes, it was this excellence in produce that really gave an added dimension to the dishes (in addition to cooking the meat just right). AND when they had to bring in an outside vendor (like the pies that we wanted for dessert) they really chose the best around. That being said their initial cheese selection for our appetizers was underwhelming, but they were completely willing to work with us on this and the final version day of was fantastic.
Organization/ Logistics: They were by far the most organized vendor at our wedding, despite feeling the most small-scale and personable. Our wedding was very bespoke/ a la carte/ choose your own adventure, and they followed us effortlessly through all of the details, weird requests, and special considerations of our wedding. They never came to us with setbacks or complications. They were really good about checking in, and structured our interactions in the months leading up to the wedding so that we were all on the same page with the many, many details to keep track of.
Day-of Logistics: They were so unobtrusive and friendly, despite unpleasant surprises from other vendors. When our rental company failed to deliver some items and put others in odd places, they helped pick up the pieces. When our venue went back on its word as to where they could put their cooking tent they rolled with it. When we decided day-of to hold our photoshoot where they needed to work they were so good about working through it.
Personal touches: It’s no coincidence that they gave us exactly what we wanted in terms of food. They paid close attention when we told them our preferences were and were genuinely attuned to our likes and dislikes. During the planning process my husband mentioned how he always goes back for seconds at wedding buffets. Based on this aside, they gave him a HUGE platter of food, which we both found to be so touching, special, and funny.
Tipping: Their guideline to us was that if we were pleased with the job they did we should tip 10-20%. Not totally unheard of but worth mentioning since different caterers do it differently.
