Bottom line upfront: You would be doing yourself a favor by choosing to work with Wendy for your event!
We worked with Wendy for our wedding and she did nothing but exceed our expectations. We met with Wendy in January for our taste testing and she had all of her butter creams, fillings, and cake options available for us to try. I am gluten free and Wendy was able to provide GF cake options not only for the wedding cake, but also for the tasting. About a month or two before the wedding I threw Wendy a curve-ball, asking if she would be able to not only make the wedding cake gluten free, but also dairy free AND soy free. Without hesitation she stepped right into this challenge, delivering THE BEST gluten free, dairy free, and soy free wedding cake I may have ever had. Although I did not have the regular (gluten-filled) cake, our guests were raving! Wendy also made a small GF, DF, SF anniversary cake for my parents.
Wendy was a joy to work with! She is incredibly wise and knows what she is doing. My husband is in the Army and there was a point in our wedding planning where we 90% sure we had to change our wedding date. Wendy shifted gears quickly and ensured us that this was not going to be an issue. Low and behold, we did not have to change our date, but Wendy supported us along the entire journey!

2) Chocolate Porter Cake with Raspberry Buttercream, Raspberry Preserves, and Raspberry-infused Ganache

Vanilla Cake with Buffalo Trace Bourbon Buttercream and Caramel Buttercream
Suprise GF, DF, SF Anniversary Cake:
Chocolate Porter Cake with Raspberry Buttercream, Raspberry Preserves, and Raspberry-infused Ganache

Louise Sent on 11/13/2016Holy Cake!!! We absolutely loved out wedding cake done by Wendy....Not only did it look beautiful it is the best cake I have ever tasted ( I'm not joking it was amazing)!!! Our cake tasting day was also very pleasant and everything that we had mentioned that we liked or didn't like allowed for Wendy to help us pick out the best cake for both of us. She is extremely talented and personable. Don't let that there isn't a store front to look in stop you from checking her out she is amazing!!!Wendy Kromer Confections's reply:

User2667930 Sent on 06/29/2016We gave Wendy a picture of a topper cake that we wanted to use for our wedding cake that featured a beach setting. Wendy found the two wooden beach chairs for the top of the cake and made sandals, shells, beach fence, etc out of a sugar mix and colored it to look real. It was an amazing looking cake but the best part was the moist vanilla cake with layers of raspberry frosting !! She also made cupcakes with frosting in Peanut Butter, White Chocolate, and Buttercream Vanilla which everyone loved. She did everything on time and was very responsive with updates. Wendy is an exceptional artist and we feel so fortunate that we were able to work with her. When my mom and I met Wendy, we were not only blown-away by her designs, but also the flavor combinations--- they really taste as good as they look! It was the best cake I have ever had! Wendy really gets to know you and what you are looking for in a cake. She is so warm and personable! She spent over an hour talking to me about my wedding and vision. Wendy created the most unique cake using elements from my wedding dress. She also made the cutest monogrammed cookies for favors and they were such a perfect addition to our wedding. Wendy demonstrates exemplary levels of professionalism and responsiveness. It was such a pleasure working with Wendy! I can't wait to use her again for other special events. User1089653 Sent on 02/12/2013My husband ordered a birthday cake for me on January 31 (ONLY THING I ASKED FOR FOR MY BIRTHDAY WAS A WENDY KROMER CAKE!). He had all details confirmed WITH a pick up date and time. When he showed up THEY WERE CLOSED! We tried for 5 hours to get a hold of someone to fix the problem and no one ever got back to us. The next morning I got a call with what was supposed to be an apology (they admitted they had the order), but what was actually said was "well your event is over so nothing left to do". Nothing like having a birthday party with NO BIRTHDAY CAKE!!!! I can not even begin to express my disappointment. My party was completely ruined!

We feel absolutely terrible about missing the order for the Hummingbird Cake, that your most gracious husband made with us.
This morning, as soon as we realized our mistake (upon opening), we called both you and your husband to extend our apologies and to see how we could make up for our mistake. With our moving out of our current space, and the fact that Mondays we are normally closed; we missed your order.
In the calls to both you & your husband we were very apologetic. We said that we realized we could not make up yesterday's missed Birthday cake, but that we'd like to make up for it as best we could.
As your cake was not yet paid for, your Hummingbird Cake for 12 guests will be at no charge. Furthermore, I will bake, decorate & deliver it to your Sandusky address personally, as long as I am in town the date of your delivery.
