Kevin and Angela were very easy to work with. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy. The all inclusive package we purchased saved us a lot of money. Everyone enjoys the photo booth and music. Kevin kept the guests engaged and their want a dull moment to speak of. Very professional and highly recommend Events with Memory'z and DJ Gear Grinder for any event. Definitely looking forward to having them back for future events we may have. Bonus they have specials throughout the year as well as a small date reservation hold which I believe is refundable if something comes up. You won't regret it. Contact Kevin on fb or his website djgeargrinder.com.

We first met with Kevin and his wife, we were referred by a friend who's wedding is in 2 months. Kevin was great, he was detailed oriented about made it clear and he and his wife have been working to expanded there DJ business. The package came with a list of included perks like a coordinator, photo/Video booth, up lights, and they work the entire event for a flat rate.

When it came to the final meeting 1 month from our wedding it was a challenge to meet up with Kevin, due to his busy schedule. We really had to make an effort to meet with him, and this was a little stressful.

Kevin was NOT our DJ, and we understood this a month before the wedding.

Our wedding started at 3 pm, the DJ was supposed to arrive a 12. Sasha the coordinator was on time and had to leave the Venue to track down the DJ on the phone. He arrived 2+ hours LATE, and did not seem to care when asked what happened. He told our wedding party that it lived 40 minutes away and had no issues finding the place.

He arrived without a table for the DJ equipment, we had to provide this WITHOUT notice. He was doing sound checks at 2:30 while guests were starting to arrive.

After we said I DO there was a 30 second delay, so my new husband and I stood there looking at the crowd not knowing what to do.

The DJ helped himself to beers during the cocktail hour and reception.
He got the garter song mixed up with the bouquet toss song.
He did not play the longest couple song we had requested though his was filled out with the paperwork we gave to Kevin.
We did not get the up lights or if we did I did not see them.
The Video booth was non-existent. When I asked the coordinator about this feature, she said that she was supposed to go around and get recordings of our quests. Our wedding was 6/11/2016, today is 6/15/2016, and we have yet to get these recordings, I doubt they were collected.

Never played any of our songs that we requested. We love country music. The only country song he played was "before he cheats". He didn't know our entrance song even though it was written down for him. It took 2 months to get our picture booth photos and now that it has been 3 months I assume I'm never going to get our video booth video.

We hired Kevin for a photo booth for our company party. I had several conversations with him both by phone and text. He was also paid in advance. 40 minutes before he was supposed to show up for our event, he emailed my work email. He informed me via email that he had double booked and would not be coming and that he would not be reachable by telephone. Despite having my cell phone, he felt the email was the appropriate way to inform me- leaving me no time to fix the problem. He has been "unreachable" for the past 7 hours. I can understand a mistake of double booking. I do not understand the lack of professionalism and customer service by not even bothering to call. I read on Thumbtack that he did this to someone else in October.

Our experience with Kevin Mackie and his company DJ Gear Grinder was very disappointing and frustrating. He was very difficult to get ahold of. He was a nightmare to work with for my wedding coordinator. He was unwilling to work with her on a time to tour the venue and talk with her before my big day. At one point he actually canceled on her 10 minutes before their appointment.
Before the ceremony, minutes before I was about to walk down the aisle, he had my mom ask me what my reception entrance song was going to be. Very unprofessional and rude, as we had already talked about that. I have emails/msgs to prove I had already told him what song and exactly what time slot I wanted to play in the song, even down to the minute and second.
Also, we were told we would have microphones at the ceremony to say our vows... that never happened.
I had hand written announcements that I wanted him to make before our special slow dances, for the mother daughter dance for example. That was very important to me and he never made ANY of the announcements I wrote up for him.
Then my mom had a special song set up to play to kick off the dancing for all our guests. Again, wrote everything out to the minute and second. He completely messed it up and disregarded all we had said. It's like those messages between us never even happned.
One of the biggest things that upset me was that we were offered a photo booth as part of his base package. He spelt my name wrong on all of the pictures from the photo booth that my guests got to take home. He spelt the BRIDES name wrong. How absolutely humiliating! He not only was friends with me on Facebook to see the correct spelling, but also has countless papers with my name on it from all of our paper work. I strongly advise against anyone using him.
We were promised an audio recording of our priceless ceremony, of our talk and our vows. THAT never happened as well. An audio recording of the ceremony and wedding vows was part of his base
