Reverend Joe Wadas officiated our wedding this past December, and we truly could not have asked for a better experience. From the very beginning, he was clear, honest, and highly communicative. He made the entire process seamless by catering to our requests and encouraging us to take ownership of how we envisioned our ceremony and the words spoken during it.

Kind, Professional, Attentive!
Rev. Joe officiated our wedding at Bethesda Academy Whitfield Chapel in September and was such a delight to work with! He was kind, professional, and easy to work with as we were preparing for our big day. My husband and I gave Rev. Joe a customized version of the script and he was more than receptive of our edits. On the day of the rehearsal, he arrived ahead of schedule and was patient as some of crew was running late. We received great advice and direction from Rev. Joe to help us prepare for the real deal. When the wedding day arrived, the ceremony went off perfectly!! My husband and I would definitely recommend Rev. Joe for your wedding officiating needs. Thanks so much!!!

Perfect officiant for us!

Seamlessly intertwined multiple religions and languages!
We had the pleasure of working with Reverend Joe for our wedding on 04/19/2024. My husband and I are two different religions – Catholic and Muslim, and we wanted an officiant who could speak to both religions and find the intersection between them. Additionally, my husband’s family came from Morocco, and many did not speak English, so we decided to have his sister work with Reverend Joe to translate the sermon for them so that they could feel included in our special day. The result was phenomenal! All evening, I had guests telling me how beautiful the ceremony was and how special it was to include both families, both religions, and both languages. When answering Reverend Joe’s questionnaire, I had recently lost my dog of over 16 years and my grief was evident in my responses to the questions, particularly what I loved about my husband. Reverend Joe seamlessly intertwined my dog’s legacy in his sermon and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house! I appreciate his flexibility, knowledge, and professionalism. I would recommend Reverend Joe again and again! We were so honored by his presence, and he made our ceremony perfect!

Choosing an officiant was a big decision and it took some looking, but we found the perfect person! From the start, we could tell there was something very kind and sincere about Rev. Joe Wadas. He was so helpful post ceremony with any questions we had or when we needed suggestions or advice. When the wedding day came and we met him in person we knew he was exactly who we wanted to help us make this big step in our life. We are so very blessed that he was able to perform such a beautiful ceremony, and our guests absolutely loved him. He has an ability to be serious when it’s needed….this is a pretty serious matter….break the ice with humor and project his voice. I don’t plan on getting married again, but I’ll definitely be recommending him to anyone I know who’s getting engaged.

We love Rev. Joe!
We eloped in Savannah on 02/20/2021 and Rev. Joe Wadas was exceptional, he contacted us in a timely manner and discussed with us both our expectations of vows and marriage. He got on a personal level with us and included in our vows special and personal details (such as the joining of our family with our children). He included Bible verses that were special to us.
We were both very nervous during the ceremony and what I loved about Rev. Joe Wadas was that he was very warm and welcoming and he made us both laugh to loosen the nervousness. During the ceremony, we both were almost in tears of happiness.
After the ceremony, he promptly sent out marriage certificate to our county courthouse which came back within three days making our marriage official.
I would rate Rev. Wadas with 10 stars if I could, he was exceptional, sincere, humble, and made our marriage ceremony special with the details he included in our exchange of vows. It almost felt like he knew us even though we had never met.
We really appreciate his service to us in making our marriage official, especially with God. We are truly blessed and I cannot thank Rev. Wadas enough for making our elopement special.

I had an October wedding and in August I found out my original officiator was unable to officiate our wedding. When I asked a few of my other vendors for recommendations, Rev. Joe was highly suggested. Luckily for me he was available for our ceremony. He is a true professional and really made our ceremony special. We loved having him as a part of our special day. The Perfect Minister To Marry Us!
I found Rev. Joe via Google looking for someone specific for the Savannah area. After reading several reviews I felt he was the choice. After contacting him we texted our communications primarily and we were able to meet in person prior to the ceremony. Rev. Joe is a very personable person. He listened intuitively asked lots of questions to a pain a picture of "Our Story". The ceremony was a great- he nailed it and the words so genuine & down to earth made us both cry (even our photographer too!) Savannah destination wedding
Having a destination wedding in Savannah most planing happens over the phone , but i got to meet Joe before hand, he was very easy to work with and kind. He customized the readings and made everything very easy and run smoothly. He was very helpful; because my fiance and I were really involved with the ceremony we got to add scriptures and customize a lot. The tree planting ceremony ritual was so beautiful and how he spoke of it was something i'll never forget and think of it as we continue to grow in our marriage.

The perfect storyteller
Rev. Joe counseled my husband and I prior to our wedding (which he also officiated) and I have to say it was the best decision we could have ever made. Rev. Joe was able to get to know us on a more personal level through premarital counselling and to learn all of the intimate details of our relationship. He worked with us to understand ourselves as individuals and as a couple and also used this information to create a beautiful script for our wedding ceremony.
We wanted a ceremony that was short, sweet and to the point as we’ve both been to weddings where it seemed the ceremony just dragged on forever and for no reason. We were pledging our love and commitment to one another, not attempting to retell our entire life story or put on a dramatic theater act.
Rev. Joe worked with us to create a ceremony that honored our religious upbringings (and our parents) while also respecting the fact that neither of us currently practices our respective faiths. He incorporated a hand ceremony by my request and even threw in a little humor about me, as the wife, always having the upper hand. He made everyone laugh but he also brought many to tears. I even became emotional during our vows after hearing and reflecting on the beauty of Rev. Joe’s previous words which perfectly represented my husband and I and our future together.
I could not recommend Rev. Joe enough. If you want someone who will truly make your wedding about you and your spouse and the life you are about to embark on together, choose Rev. Joe. Our ceremony was unlike any I’d ever been a part of before, so intimate and so incredibly special. I’m thankful we chose to have our wedding videoed and that we will always be able to relive those moments!

Perfect for our Multi-Denominational Wedding!
My husband and I LOVE Reverend Joe and highly highly recommend him as your officiant! I come from a very liberal Quaker background, and my husband comes from a more conservative Catholic family, so we were very unsure about how to design a wedding ceremony which honored both sides and offended no one. Reverend Joe helped us custom tailor our wedding ceremony to hit a heartfelt and absolutely perfect balance between our two very different religious backgrounds. Reverend Joe had so many amazing ideas which made our ceremony so unique and meaningful. Our favorite recommendation of his was to take a moment during the ceremony to honor both of our parents. If anyone was holding back tears this is definitely the moment where everyone broke! Afterwards, guests on both sides told us that the wedding ceremony felt very true to us, and many also mentioned that it was the best ceremony they had ever been to!
I'm delighted to report that if you are considering Savannah for a destination wedding, it is easy and fun to get to know Rev. Joe over video chats and phone calls (my husband and I planned our wedding from Los Angeles). He was an absolute joy to work with and we are forever grateful that we chose him as our wedding officiant. Our ceremony was *perfect*, and it was all thanks to Rev. Joe's great ideas and excellent writing!

Absolutely the best!
I was planning my elopement from Pittsburgh, so effective communication was a must. Joe was absolutely amazing. He asked all the right questions to get the right vibe for our elopement. We wanted the feeling and emotion of a large wedding but without all of the guests. Rev. Joe prepared an absolutely beautiful ceremony with some additional readings added in at my request. The words from his ceremony are something that not only my husband and I will cherish but our entire family as well. I truly could not ask for anything more. He was punctual and even kept the ceremony lighthearted when our naughty bulldog was tired of behaving. We have told the story of Rev. Joe announcing our marriage probably fifty times in the month that we've been married because he really was at the center of what made our day so special to us. If you are considering Rev. Joe, don't waste your time looking elsewhere. You will have a ceremony to hold in your heart forever with Rev. Joe.

My wonderful ceremony

Reverend Joe was outstanding. He worked with us in the months leading up to our wedding to make sure that we had the perfect ceremony. Reverend Joe even took time out of his schedule to meet us ahead of time to get to know us. Above all else, Reverend Joe was a very calming influence on the wedding day and even during the ceremony. When we thought we might cry, he would do or say something to let us know that everything was going to be alright. I received many compliments throughout the night on how good Reverend Joe was. Rev. Joe was great! He married us in Forsyth Park in Savannah. He was always prompt and asked us exactly what we were looking for in our wedding ceremony. He sent us a ceremony script to adjust as we wanted. If felt personalized even though, being a destination wedding for us, we had never met him in person. He had emailed us a copy of our completed marriage license the day after our wedding and got it sent off for us. We loved our ceremony and would highly recommend.

My husband and I can't say enough about Rev. Joe! We flew into Savannah, changed at the airport, got our rental car, drove to the courthouse, got license, picked up flowers and met Rev. Joe at Forsyth Park. All in under 4 hours. It was a whirlwind, but once we got to the park, we both were completely put at ease and had the most perfect ceremony. Just the two of us, Rev. Joe and the onlookers in the park. It was intimate, special and exactly what we had discussed with him prior to our arrival.

Rev. Joe made our wedding day absolutley perfect. I'm not just saying this either.
Me and my now husband were planning a destination wedding in Bluffton/HHI and my venue coordinator had mentioned Rev. Joe. Upon reaching out, we decided that Rev. Joe was for us! He was available by email and phone as we were unable to make a trip down, and customized our ceremony for us. He even read a prayer from my Grandma's prayer book I carried down the aisle as she once did 65 years ago.

Rev Joe was my favorite person to work with when we were planning our wedding. We met with a couple wedding officiates and it was clear that Rev Joe was the best for us. He catered our ceremony to be exactly what we had envisioned for the day and we are still getting comments from guests about how great Rev Joe and the ceremony was. Throughout the planning process he offered great suggestions when we really were not sure what to decide on and perfectly captured the feelings my wife and I have for each other. Not only that but he took care of all the post-wedding license tasks and we didn’t have to worry about the documentation. Our license was waiting for us by the time we got back from the honeymoon the following week.
During the rehearsal and on the day of the wedding he kept things light with my groomsmen and I and I felt very comfortable knowing he had control of the ceremony. We are so happy we chose Rev Joe when planning our big day and would recommend him in a heartbeat to anyone!!

Rev. Joe performed our wedding ceremony, and it was perfect! He was very open to whatever we wanted and made sure we were comfortable with every part of our ceremony. We met with him a few times to get to know each other and to go over the different elements of the ceremony. We initially did not know exactly what we wanted from our ceremony, just that we wanted it to be about half an hour long and for it to not be boring. He walked us through the entire process and made suggestions along the way when needed. He provided us with a draft of our ceremony the month of the wedding and made sure that we were completely happy with it before finalizing it.
On our wedding day, he provided us with a beautiful ceremony! He made our ceremony sweet and fun, and it was perfect for us. So many of our guests commented on how wonderful he was!! We could not have picked anyone better to perform our ceremony!

We were beyond happy with the level of service that Reverend Joe offered us as our officiant for our wedding day. I originally found him on Wedding Wire and read through all of the glowing reviews of him so I knew that he would be awesome but he went above and beyond both my and my new husband's expectations. I was a little nervous that we didn't meet with him until the rehearsal (I have a very busy schedule and didn't think about asking him about meeting in person before but I am sure he would have been open to it!), but Reverend Joe put me at ease and was so personable that it felt like I had known him for much longer. Reverend Joe crafted the perfect ceremony for us with our input that added humor and emotion to our ceremony. He was a delight to work with. We had several of our guests come up and compliment us on our ceremony as well as Reverend Joe and asked where we had found him from. He also handled filing our marriage license for us and after we got back from our honeymoon a week later the certified copy was already waiting for us in our mailbox which was one less thing to worry about! Reverend Joe was great to work with. We had an outdoor destination wedding in Savannah, and the ceremony turned out wonderful. He was able to combine religion, humor, and a personal touch, that made the ceremony so beautiful. Thank you Reverend Joe. You are the best.

Rev. Joe was great to work with. We came from Denver to Savannah to be Married in Orleans Square. Due to rain, at the last hour plans changed. The Bohemian Hotel helped with arrangements to use the roof Balcony. Something new for Rev. Joe. It was wonderful and enjoyed by all. A Special thank you to Rev. Joe and the Special memory.

After struggling to find an officiant that met our needs, meeting Reverend Joe was a breath of fresh air. He was very professional, easy to communicate with, and made sure our ceremony was exactly what we wanted. Rev. Joe even threw in a surprise personal touch that had our guests laughing and entertained. Even though we did not write our own vows, our ceremony was filled with beautiful words, love, and laughter. Rev. Joseph Wadas is absolutely amazing. He will make sure your ceremony is exactly as you wish. Rev. Joe is a very detailed orientated Rev. who will make your day absolutely everything you would want it to be and more. My husband and I needed to change dates and Rev Joe was extremely flexible and was able to accommodate us. Any questions I may have had, he definitely gave the answers whether it was through email or a phone call. Your day will be special your day, it will be amazing and Rev. Joe should definitely be apart of that. If you want the BEST then Rev. Joe is definitely the individual to make your day a dream come true. He definitely did that for my husband and I. It was just us and Rev. Joe and the ceremony vows were so perfect. Whatever you may choose.... Wherever you may want your ceremony .......if your not sure or you need answers or hep to figure things out. Rev. Joseph Wadas will take the steps with you. If my husband and I decide in a few years to renew our vows we will definitely be asking Rev. Joe to do our ceremony again.

We can't recommend Reverend Joe enough. He made our wedding ceremony so special. Even though it was short (at our request), it was probably one of the more memorable ceremonies our friends and family will remember. So many people had commented how we must have met with Reverend Joe several times as he seemed to know us so well. If only they knew we had only met him just prior to the ceremony. Of course we had communicated as often as needed, answering questions about ourselves and our desires, in order to help him craft a ceremony that was personalized and special for us. We were able to see the exact wording of the ceremony and could change as needed. He helped proof our wedding program and we were delighted to see his stole matched our colors. We highly recommend Reverend Joe for your special day.

Asking Rev. Joe to officiate our wedding was the best decision we made! Rev. Joe was incredibly responsive during the wedding planning processes and truly listened to what my husband and I wanted for our ceremony. Not only did the ceremony script (written by Rev. Joe) encompass love and God as we had asked, but it was also personal. In fact, most of our guests thought that Rev. Joe had known us for years, when in reality our relationship with Rev. Joe began about 10 months before our wedding and consisted only of emails (as we lived on separate coasts). Rev. Joe made the moments surrounding "I do" ones that we will never forget.
If I had to choose my favorite moment of the whole day it would have to be right after my husband and I said our vows (ones we wrote) and Rev. Joe held our hands together and said quietly to us "just breath". He made sure that we really took in that moment...I will never forgot that feeling! I am very grateful for Rev. Joe's services, expertise, talent, and the kindness he showed to us on our special day.

Rev. Joe was the perfect pick to officiate my wedding. He was kind and supportive. He is very personable and also has a great sense of humor that is appropriate and uplifting. We could not have chosen a more wonderful officiant! Rev. Joe was sincere, kind, and such a joy to work with! We did not want a religious ceremony, and Rev. Joe was completely free of judgment. He never tried to talk us into anything we didn't want, and he explained that he was there to do our wedding our way. Rev. Joe had some wonderful ideas during our first meeting, and he was very prompt with emails, texts, and phone calls whenever we needed him. He also added some humor in our ceremony that was a perfect touch. We couldn't have been happier with our choice!!

Reverend Wadas delivered the most beautiful service for us! He recommended that my husband and I write letters to each other before the ceremony, send them to him without looking at each other's, and he included them as part of our ceremony. He picked the perfect parts of our letters to include, and it made our ceremony so special. Rev. Joe was our officiant in Savannah for our beautiful wedding. Since we were planning our wedding out of state, we were not familiar with any vendors. I was recommended to use Rev. Joe by my planner and I am so glad she did! We first met him at our rehearsal, where he walked us through what we would be doing for the wedding ceremony. When we met, we felt like we had known Rev. Joe for a long time! He was so kind, caring, and funny! He was the cherry on top for our ceremony on the wedding day. Everything was flawless! Our ceremony was thoughtful, personal, and he through in a little humor which made it perfect!! I can not rave enough about Rev. Joe! Reverend Joe was amazing!! He did a great job officiating our wedding. He was easy to work with through email, since we lived out of state! Rev. Rev. Joe was simply a joy to work with for our wedding ceremony. We wanted a ceremony that was spiritual but also carried our family traditions, and Rev. Joe crafted the perfect, personalized ceremony for us. He was able to incorporate my family's Filipino traditions (arras, veil and cord), my husband and my combined faith's traditions, and made it a great experience for all our guests, regardless of their faith and background. Rev. Joe was truly wonderful to work with. Although we did not meet or speak until the day before our wedding, our introduction was like meeting an old friend. At our rehearsal, and the day of the ceremony, he made the entire wedding party feel at ease. When we received our draft ceremony I cried upon reading it as it was so wonderful to have something written that fit my husband and I so perfectly. I would highly recommend Rev.
