Wedding Planner for our whole family!

I first met lulu as a bridesmaid when she planned my cousin's wedding. She and her team were so professional and friendly and seemed totally in control that I just knew who to call when it was my turn to get married. She handled everything from helping us select our venues, plannning, and helping us come up with a beautiful look, to making sure me and my girls had a fun relaxing day getting ready before the wedding. She gave us such a feeeling of calm, that everything was being taken care of that our entire wedding week was so stress-free. That was really the greatest feeling to just enjoy ourselves with all our friends and family in town. She did such a great job that she's also planning my sister's wedding next year!

Fantastic wedding planner

Lulu is a rockstar who made everything so easy for us! She helped us pick the best vendors and make good decisions every step of the way. She was a life-saver when we had to postpone our wedding by a year focusing on the positive and helping us negotiate with most of the contracts we already signed for the original date. We expected that to be such a nightmare but with Lulu's help and expertise it ended up being pretty painless. She is so committed and professional and such a calm demeanor she puts you at ease! She helped us get over all the bumps in the road and ultimately our wedding day was FANTASTIC. Can't thank her enough for all her patience and hard work.

Lulu and her team made the day flawless. Best day of our lives

The day was flawless thanks to Lulu and her team. We didn’t have to lift a finger and she kept us calm despite the rain in the forecast. So glad we took her advice to include a 2nd line parade even though our group was small. Money well spent. Best day of our lives!

Best day ever!!

On the morning of our wedding Lulu sent over a bottle of champagne with a note that said it was going to be the best day ever and it was sooo true!

We had almost 200 guests coming from around the country and many also internationally and we wanted to create a fun weekend sharing all the things we love about New Orleans. Lulu had so many great ideas like a fun crawfish boil welcome for our guests with a ferry across the river, a swamp tour, golf, ghost tour, our rehearsal dinner, a farewell brunch and of course, our amazing wedding!

There were so many details and moving parts yet she was always on top of everything. She knew where all our guests were staying and even helped fixed a couple messed up hotel reservations. She was so patient and organized and the girls on her team were the sweetest. At every event there was always someone from her team there to make sure everything was in place and show us what to do. I especially loved having her bridal attendant with me during prep on our wedding day keeping us on schedule, she even went on a coffee run for us and helped to make sure everything we needed got onto the buses and into the wedding reception. Those little details help make your day so much easier and I really wouldn't have thought of them on my own.

The wedding itself was perfect, everything we had envisioned and more. Of course we are biased but we think it was the most beautiful wedding ever and yet so much fun. Truly was the best day ever!

Long Overdue Thank You

My review is so long overdue but I can’t thank LuLu enough for all that she did for us. My then-fiancé and I were both in law school when we were planning our wedding and we were completely overwhelmed—we were getting nowhere with even picking a venue and dates were disappearing quickly because October is so popular for weddings in New Orleans. The manager at one of the places we called suggested we give Weddings By LuLu a call and what a great idea that turned out to be! LuLu is a former lawyer herself and she right away understood the kind of pressure we were under. She got a feel for the kind of venue we were looking for and within a few days sent us a list of places with available dates and details and more importantly, her notes and inside knowledge. She got holds on our top 3 picks and and then set up a time for us to visit on a rare afternoon off a couple weeks later. I can’t tell you the feeling of relief of just having a plan for how to get started and for someone to narrow things down for us to a bearable volume. After visiting the three venues we could see how insightful LuLu was. They were all great matches and with her guidance it was easy picking ‘the one’. From there, it was smooth sailing the whole way. LuLu provided us with a planning timeline, vendor recommendations, budget guidance, handled vendor questions, hotel blocks, welcome bags and even planned our complicated extended rehearsal dinner and welcome cocktail party. Her team handled the flowers, decor, all our rentals—it was like magic the way it all came together! We had several divorced/remarried parents and she handled everyone tactfully and gracefully. Our wedding day went off without a hitch and was better than we even could have imagined. We would recommend Weddings By LuLu without hesitation and LuLu has our heartfelt thanks for a day we’ll herons always.

Best Decision!

Lulu and her team’s can-do attitude was exactly what we needed when planning our wedding. Planning from 7 hours away was initially stressful but Lulu eliminated all of that from our very first meeting. We loved every one of the vendors she recommended and if there any behind-the-scene issues on the day of we really never knew. Everything was beautiful and seamless. The Timeline she delivered to all our vendors and our wedding party covered every possible detail! Our guests raved this was the best wedding they’d ever been to and we feel we owe that to the amazing team at Weddings by Lulu! Thank you so much!

Working with LuLu was a dream. PERFECT Destination Wedding

We initially contacted Lulu to plan our New Orleans destination wedding but eventually changed our minds and decided on a destination wedding in the Caribbean. Lulu was absolutely AMAZING!! She switched gears easily and planned a destination wedding weekend for us and our 42 guests at a gorgeous resort in Jamaica. We did everything through email and photos and Lulu never steered us wrong! It was a dream weekend, we will never forget.

I love Lulu!! She is amazing and if it were not for her, my wedding would not have been as amazing as it was. I am so happy with how everything turned out and Lulu knows exactly what to do and how to keep everything on track. I was definitely a major worrier when it came to the wedding so it was so helpful to have Lulu in my corner. We visit New Orleans a lot. When it came time to plan our wedding, we knew it had to be in the French Quarter. We found Weddings by Lulu online and are very happy that we had lulu helping us navigate the planning of the big day. All of the vendor recommendations were perfect! Lulu met us and we toured various venues and found the perfect place. The photographer, the cake, the hair and makeup and the officiant were all perfect. All of the guests said that if was the best wedding to which they had ever been. The second line was great! Lulu made sure that everything was well coordinated and during the craziness of the big day we didn't have to worry about the details. Everything went perfectly. After researching thoroughly, we decided on Weddings by Lulu to help us plan our destination wedding in New Orleans. We wanted an extremely experienced wedding planner - someone who had a lot of weddings under her belt, someone who could guide us through the things that we couldn't possibly know yet about planning a wedding, someone local and who knew New Orleans really well, someone with good relationships with hotels and vendors, who was familiar with all the places at which someone could get married, who could help guide us through making a choice, and someone who had actually planned a few weddings at whichever place we finally chose. We also wanted someone who would make something that looked spectacular and memorable. LuLu knocked the ball out of the park on all fronts! Since we are both practicing attorneys at big firms in New York City, it was also important to find someone who was sensitive to the difficulty of planning an amazing day from afar and with EXTREMELY busy schedules. I cannot stress enough how incredibly helfpul and accommodating Lulu was in this regard. I have to think that a big part of that was due to her own experience working at big firms in NYC. She was a great listener, asked good questions, provided incredibly detailed information, helped us to set realistic deadlines, and was available at times that were convenient for us. I would like to say that working with her was the next best thing to being there in person, but, honestly, it was better. Her knowledge helped us to make much better decisions than we could have possibly made on our own. It was just an added bonus that she was also our eyes and ears in New Orleans. Lulu understood our vision from the beginning, our wedding was beautiful and went off without a hitch. My bride and I had the best day of our lives!! Thanks Lulu!

I would highly recommend Weddings By Lulu for all your wedding planning needs. My wedding was in March 2016 and I hired Lulu the previous April of 2015, so we worked together for about 11 months. In the beginning, I would just send Lulu emails asking certain questions and she would usually respond within 1-2 weeks. If there is a question that you need an immediate answer, she is available by text, but in the early stages, 1-2 weeks was fine for me. (I later learned that once it gets closer to your actual wedding date, she responds way quicker. I like this because I think she prioritizes her time with her brides who have a fast approaching date! In the last month of planning, we were contacting each other almost daily!) About 6 months out from the wedding, she created a pinterest board and I pinned ideas that I liked and she used that to help me design my rehearsal dinner and wedding reception (we hired her to plan both for us). We also got married at a chapel that didn't have its own wedding coordinator to run the ceremony so Lulu and her team did the actual ceremony for us as well. We had a couple phone consultations to discuss prices, budget, the pins I had pinned on pinterest and she then made me a big document with her vision of the events from what we disccussed. She had great ideas that I hadn't thought of, but yet she still worked in everything that I wanted. Everything went off perfectly! The last month would have been way more stressful if I didn't have her. I was an out of town bride so 100% of our communication was long distance and the wedding still went off just as I hoped! She arranged everything with the vendors that I booked, and made a huge minute by minute timeline for all the events that weekend. Everyone involved got a timeline copy so they knew where to be and when. That made it so much less stressful on me! Lulu provided me a bridal attendant who stayed with me the whole wedding day! Hire Lulu! You won't regret it! :)

My husband and I decided to have a very small wedding in New Orleans. LuLu and her team were amazing! We planned a destination wedding in New Orleans in just 3 months with her help. Not only was she easy to communicate with by e-mail and phone, she was very organized and gathered all the information we needed to make decisions for venue, catering, music, flowers, photographer, etc. People say that planning a wedding is stressful, but with LuLu the whole process was fun! I interviewed a few wedding planners for my NOLA wedding, but after reading the rave reviews on Lulu, speaking to a couple of her former clients, and discussing my needs with her, I could tell she was a good fit for our wedding. Boy was I right! I was not the bride who had it all figured out ahead of time. I knew the look and feel that we wanted in general, but I had no clue where to begin, especially since I no longer lived in NOLA and had to plan this from afar. She thinks of everything for you. We set up a trip to NOLA and she coordinated a full day of venue visits to fit our needs for both the rehearsal dinner and reception. She also set up a hair and makeup trial for me, a tasting with two bakeries, and a meeting with a suggested photographer! Phew! She was a breeze to work with throughout the entire process, very responsive to all of my questions and ideas. Most importantly, our wedding day was the most perfect day I could ever have imagined! Honestly, if something went wrong I didn’t know about it – and THAT is the sign of a great planner! My family was so impressed with how smoothly things ran, and all of our guests had a blast! You cannot go wrong working with Lulu, Alex, and the team at Weddings by Lulu. They will make sure your day is perfect and you feel like the stars you are!

Lulu delivered everything I asked for. She is very detail oriented, and listens extremely well. I met with her in person only 3 times prior to the wedding weekend, but as the wedding date got closer, she was available and in touch 24/7. A few weeks before the wedding, I was in Nola and wanted to meet with her, and only gave her a last minute notice. She came straight from the airport to see me, while her family was in the car after her vacation, just to accommodate my needs. She is very sweet and extremely nice, while being very professional. Her entire team is also professional, and I was very pleased and trusted them with all my decisions. She pulled it all together, and anticipated and helped avoid many issues before they happened. She also solved problems as they popped up. As an example, I had one too many drinks before our "2nd Line Parade" and it went straight to my head. Needless to say, after the 2nd Line she changed the plans a little bit, and made sure I got some food to help me sober up a little. She truly cared that our wedding was successful from start to finish.
I am so glad I have chose WBL - she helped make my beautiful dream wedding become a reality.

It was a little scary when we first started planning and discovered not everyone was going to be particularly welcoming to a same-sex couple. Lulu and her team treated us with such sensitivity and respect and made sure to only put us in touch with other vendors who would do the same. We knew we would need help planning our wedding in New Orleans and we wanted someone experienced with gay weddings who would make us feel comfortable. We met with Lulu and hit it off right away. She seemed to hone in right away on what we were looking for--a fantastic but unique wedding weekend getaway focused on food, friends and love. She has a great talent for personalizing decor ideas that we bring to her and making them our own. She also has a great talent for keeping me balanced and calm when I get crazed over tiny details I cant control, lol--thank you, Lulu!

Aside from marrying my husband, hiring Weddings By lulu was the best wedding decision I made! LuLu is professional, friendly, detailed, and extremely knowledgeable. She seemed to have every vendor we needed on speed dial. She worked tirelessly to make my dream wedding a reality. We used Pinterest to share photos and ideas and from that she came up with flowers and décor beyond what I even originally imagined! She understood my love for candles and created the most romantic setting for our ceremony.

On a personal level she's also incredibly reassuring - she understands the stress a bride is under in planning a destination wedding - she was able to calm my nerves many times throughout the process and especially in the days leading up to the wedding when everything is happening so fast and questions are coming at you from a million directions!

Our wedding was beautiful, organized and the most fun ever. Lulu said she hoped we would feel like honored guests at our own wedding and that’s exactly what it was like for us. If anything went wrong behind the scenes we were blissfully unaware. Our guests are still raving ours was the best wedding they’d ever been to and I agree!

I had a great time working with Lulu. We were planning our wedding from Canada and then Australia and she made herself available for us whenever we needed, both in person when we visited for venue selections as well as though phone and emails. She was a pleasure to work with and honestly the day of a real blessing to have. Knowing that whatever issue that could possibly come up would be handled by herself or her assistant was worth every penny. She worked with us to get everything that we wanted in place and listened to any concerns we had, and offered valuable advise and solutions. Planning a wedding is a massive task, even more so from abroad, but she helped to make it all come together and the day was simply perfect.
I would most definitely recommend booking her.

Where to begin ! Lulu, she is amazing, if only I could come up with another word to describe ! I was married in New Orleans, the week before St. Patrick's day, and in the middle of wedding "season" for lulu. I am an out of town bride, who's family lives outside of NOLA. although we are very familiar with the town, hotels, restaurants, Etc. We had NO Idea about wedding vendors. After a quick google search of wedding planners in New Orleans we found Lulu, (who I may add was the only person to contact us back). The first time I talked to her I knew that was it. She was so cool, calm, and collected and literally just read my mind from point A. We decided on a wedding date with her that phone call and that was it! Lulu made the wedding planning process so EASY. She recommended who to use and with no questions, that is who I used. even when there was a "personality clash" with a vendor I was using she literally stepped in immediately and I didn't have to deal with a thing. The day of the wedding rolled around and she was on top of it as usual. I did not stress one bit. She had an amazing assistant Taylor who stayed with me all day. Taylor was so fun, friendly, and helpful. I am so happy to have met her. Loved her! They kept me on time, and posted with what was going on. Lulu sent us a bottle of champagne, which was so thoughtful. Literally the ceremony, 2nd line, and reception were a whirlwind. I literally did not lift a finger ! Everything was perfection, amazing, beautiful. I could go on and on.

If you are considering having a wedding planner, get one. If you want the best in NOLA, hire Lulu. You will not regret either decision.

Our wedding was planned and executed superbly. Nearly every single guest at our wedding came up to us and said it was one of the best, if not the best, wedding they had ever been to - and I agree. I felt like a guest at my own wedding (of course, the most VIP guest!) - it was that much fun and stress-free!

I hired Lulu about 6 months before our wedding. For the entire time we worked together, she was always available to me, and answered any questions I had promptly. She gave me THE BEST vendor suggestions - literally every single vendor I used that she suggested was outstanding. I really trusted her experience and that trust payed off, as it spared me a lot of headache and unnecessary stress.

My mother said that I was the most stress-free and relaxed bride she had ever seen, but that is because Lulu took all of that stress away. She planned and executed every detail of my vision exactly the way I wanted it.

Lulu learned, very early on, what was most important to me about our wedding, and made sure that she focused on those aspects. When I look back on the day I could not imagine having done it with out Lulu. If I could do it all over again I'd hire Lulu again, in a heartbeat.

I hired lulu to be my day of planner and she was amazing!! She came into play about two weeks prior and completely took over with vendors and made the last days before the wedding so stress free. She helped with our rehearsal and was so on point with questions, recommendations and timing. On the day of her assistant was also there and they just made everything do easy. She really went above and beyond with DIY and making sure all items got back to our hotel room. She is direct with what you need and has a very high standard of service.

We interviewed several Wedding Planners when we started planning our destination wedding in New Orleans but clicked with Lulu right away. She is so calm and knowledgeable she just immediately put me at ease about the fact that we were trying to plan a destination wedding for 150 people from 3 different countries without being able to visit before-hand! We hired her right away. She gave such great descriptions of our possible venues and even took pictures for us so we could pick the perfect place for our wedding. And every other decision was just as informed and easy to make. All her vendor recommendations were excellent. When we arrived in town for the wedding 10 months later everything was laid out perfectly for us. Each vendor knew what to do and when to do it, our flowers and décor were gorgeous and our wedding day was just perfection. All our guests gushed about this being the best wedding they had ever been to and that was in large part because of Lulu’s amazing attention to detail, and the loving care she seemed to treat each aspect of our wedding with.

I sourced Lulu for our elopement to New Orleans. Even though our event was small (bride, groom and our grown son) we still wanted more than just a ceremony (romantic courtyard venue, officiant for the service, horse drawn carriage, jazz band, beautiful flowers for the site, bouquet and boutonnieres, hair and makeup, photography, dinner, cake).
Lulu is an intelligent, thoughtful, savvy and gracious wedding planner. Her knowledge and attention to detail is exceptional. She provided excellent recommendations for vendors and had practical suggestions for all aspects of our wedding.
Planning from afar is always difficult, and Lulu's understanding of the city and the arrangements needed meant everything came together in true New Orleans style - relaxed, personal, great food, great music, historic setting, and great people to work with throughout the day! I could not have asked for more - I think she even organized perfect weather somehow!
Lulu and I communicated via email and finally met the day before the wedding - she had it all organizes and offered insightful recommendations about timing and the flow of the day. She arrived early on our day and made sure all details were in place - and that the vendors were all apprised of the plans. Lulu had negotiated many aspects of the day on our behalf exceedingly well and I felt as if I had a guardian angel with me at every step - right down to making sure the train of my gown missed any inadvertent puddles.

I cannot recommend her services highly enough - she is truly a lovely lady inside and out, with a keen understanding of the industry and the beautiful city she calls home. I feel fortunate to have found her amongst the many wedding planners available. I sincerely believe she is the best there is!

We knew from the moment that we got engaged that we wanted to get married in New Orleans. We're from Arizona and had called a couple planners to help us with our big day. We landed on Lulu when we knew that we had a great conversation and that she understood exactly what we wanted and who we were as a couple.
There were only a few must haves on our list--- open bar and a second line. She was helpful in finding a ceremony place and reception place even though we seemed to already have in mind what we want but ended up loving her ideas better. We needed to make sure our guests had the best time and that's exactly what they had. We're still hearing from our guests a month later on how amazing the reception room looked, how perfect the ceremony was and how much fun the "parade" was.
Lulu made all of this happen and we couldn't have asked for a better planner to help us put together our dream day.

As far as I'm concerned my wedding day was perfect. We have had nothing but rave reviews from all of our friends & family.Lu made sure that everything came together perfectly. It rained the morning of our wedding, but she assured me that it would stop and my courtyard ceremony & second line would go as planned & boy was she right ! Lu has a very laid back and reassuring demeanor which has a calming effect, which is great especially when dealing with me, as I tend to worry and get hyped up. It was actually my husband who found Lulu and spoke with her on the phone after I told him that I really needed some professional help with pulling everything together after months of planning on our own. I too was sold after our initial consult. She quickly made great recommendations for anything we had not yet confirmed & helped me make some important decisions regarding my ceremony & second line musicians that turned out to be so important. She was always available by phone, text, email & even facebook, Lu really helped me out when the florist I had already paid a deposit to, could not satisfy me with the table decoration options to create the vision that I had. Lu recommended someone who was more affordable & the tables were absolutely beautiful. Lu also worked well with all of my vendors, not just the ones she referred me to. She created a pinterest board so that we could share ideas. During the days before the wedding, when my anxiety was rising, she was so helpful. She ran the rehearsal & came to pick up all of the DIY stuff I had done, while I was busy hosting a welcome party. On the day of the wedding she made sure that my Pastor made it from the Airport to the venue & even had had another officiant on standby in case his flight was delayed because of the weather. Also in the hours before the wedding one of her assistants was at my side the entire time. She is very detail oriented, responsive, and listens to what is important to you & respectfully makes suggestions.

Being an out of town bride, I knew I was going to struggle with planning my wedding and knowing the best vendors in New Orleans. I actually discovered Weddings by Lulu on The Knot and decided to give Lulu a call. Immediately after talking with her, I knew she would be the perfect planner for me. I have a tendency to feel overwhelmed and she immediately put me at ease. We used all of her recommendations for vendors and everyone was great! Lulu was very organized and even created a timeline for me and my groom on the day of. Being from out of town, I put a lot of trust in Lulu and I'm so glad I did. Lulu is great! I would recommend her to anyone. She is extremely sweet and very creative. We could not have done it without her! I was an Out Of Town (OOT) Bride that didn't know New Orleans too well but KNEW in my heart I wanted to get married there. I did a lot of research on the web as well as on here looking for the right person who could help me plan and take care of all the local details for me (since I was in California). I chose to work with Miss Lulu. I felt really comfortable with her. She has a calm and soothing voice and I felt like she really understood my stress when it came to planning an OOT wedding. She was very responsive in her communications with me. This is so important because if you are an OOT bride you want to know you can reach your wedding planner when emergencies or questions arise. She has this intuitive sense of wedding design. This was literally the coolest part of working with her.Miss Lulu took all my inspirations + ideas and was able to translate them into my wedding style. So, if you're a bride that "kinda, sorta, maybe" thinks something might work, Miss Lulu is perfect to work with.She can pick up on your wedding style pretty quickly.Based on my budget I chose to get the FQ (French Quarter) All Inclusive Special. It included everything that I needed to have plus some nice little extras. One of the biggest draws of this package is that it included handling the permitting for the 2nd line parade. I also chose this package because it was customizable to the size of my wedding party and of my guest list (my husband actually told me we saved money by going this route- so HE was REALLY HAPPY about that! It was the best value considering what we could've spent). The vendors Miss Lulu works with are top notch. Everything came out beautifully. My guests were wowed and everyone commented on what a fun + amazing wedding it was. Overall my experience working with Miss Lulu was a very positive one.

Lu is fantastic, sweet, and everything else nice that everyone has already said about her. I decided to hire a DOC after I had already booked most of my vendors, but Lulu was so helpful in recommending vendors and answering my millions of questions, even though it wasn't part of the package that I hired her for. She also helped my father in law find a spot for our rehearsal dinner when our original location fell through, and helped my husband and I pick our honeymoon spot. On the day of, she was checking in with me to make sure I was feeling good, if I needed anything, making sure we were on schedule, etc. And she always did it with a smile on her face and in the most calm manner possible. Her assistant Ashley is fantastic as well, she went out of her way to come pick up all of my ridiculous, glittery, DIY projects a few days before the wedding (I probably owe her a carwash/vaccuum!). It was awesome to just let them take over and not have to worry. Everything went perfectly...and I'm not sure, but it's possible that Lu has an in with mother nature because the weather was perfect as well! Couldn't have asked for a better day and Lu was a HUGE part of that, I HIGHLY recommend her service.

-I booked Lu about 8 months before the wedding and I was instantly amazed. The things that took me 2 weeks to accomplish she did in 2 days. I was constantly e-mailing and texting her, and I'm certain I was one of the most irritating brides she's ever had. (I just checked my gmail and I sent her 73 pages of e-mail - bahahaha).but I wanted to mix a tiny bit of DIY with the wedding and she was game. However, that doesn't mean she didn't have back ups. For example, all of the decor I shipped was broken (and yes we found out about 2 days before the wedding). . .Lu was prepared and just replaced my stuff with her stuff. . .no fuss, no problem.

She is the picture of calm! During the rehearsal she was so calm and almost soothing, when I was really nervous and irritated with the lateness of family and friends. She really kept us organized and on time (this was my #1 pet peave is a late wedding).

The day of the wedding Lu had THREE ASSISTANTS - mind you I only had about 85 people. One was in my room and 2 were helping her set up. The assistant in my room sewed my sisters dress (it was suddenly 3 sizes too big) and kept hair and makeup on time.

Most importantly, we had booked Rebirth and they DIDN"T show - but no one noticed. Lu did not run around frantically and noone bothered us. When our wedding was done, we still had a second line - and no I have NO earthly idea how she pulled that off, but she did!

I have promised all of my family members that when they get married I am buying Lu for them. . .seriously! The e-mail I wrote to Lu was that I never thought I could have/nor that we could afford to have the wedding she gave us.

Weddings by Lulu: professional, dependable, proficient, affordable,
Lu took all of the pressure off of myself and and my fiance' during the week of our wedding. We could not have been more excited. Being a destination wedding in New Orleans, we were extremely concerned that the days that we arrived ahead of time would be taken over with last minute details. Lu met with us on Thursday before our Saturday wedding and in those few minutes we were able to confirm the very few last minute details. I like many brides have a controlling personality but within weeks I was able to relenquish all trust to Lu and allow her to create our Dream Day. Lu's team of assistants were also very professional and proficient in executing the details so that you can enjoy your day. Lu uses many tools to create and execute your ideas such as: email, pinterest, photo text, the knot, etc.
Lu created a pinterest board for us to pin ideas for our wedding. This created our dream wedding. We pinned our vision for flowers, decor, color palettes, down to details such as signage, wedding invitations, menus. (the great thing about pinterest is you can involve your mom/sister/future MIL) The great thing about using her is you have unlimited communication. I, myself, work during the day and run a company so being able to email back and forth during late hours was ideal for me. I was fortunate to have the pleasure of meeting Lu early on. Although, I had picked a location prior to booking Lu, I chose her all inclusive service. This service provided a florist, photographer, officiant, dj, welcome bags, musicians for the ceremony, and her decor inventory. Lu has unlimited inventory of her own which helps prevent having to using event rental companies who can be difficult at times to work with. Weddings by lu is by far best choice for for a destination wedding. I never could have dreamed planning a wedding with no stress. I cannot recommend Weddings by Lulu enough.

What can I say about Lu Alexander? She is FANTASTIC and was incredible when it came to helping me create the vision that I wanted for my wedding. She answered all of my questions, made me aware of things that I may not have initially thought of in the midst of the entire wedding planning process, and offered suggestions when needed.

I'm terrible with details and as on OOT bride, I was anxious in the few months before my wedding about how I could possibly plan for everything that was required. Lu took care of all of that for me. I told her the theme of our wedding and I shared pictures with her of what I envisioned our "look" to be and she executed it all flawlessly. Our reception was BEAUTIFUL - from the table decor to the guest book table to our sweets table and even our signage (which she created herself!) It really was everything I had envisioned, and then some. Lu also provided me and my wedding party with a wedding day timeline that was very helpful in keeping us on time and making us aware of what to expect.

When I had originally hired Lu I was very disillusioned with the planner that I had first hired (then subsequently fired) so naturally, I had my reservations about bringing another planner on board. You do not have to feel that way about Lu! I would encourage anyone who is looking into hiring a wedding planner to definitely consider bringing her on board!

Lu is patient, efficient, VERY organized, creative, reliable, and resourceful! I would hire her again in a heartbeat, and you should too!

I owe much of the success of how my wedding day turned out to her. I really cannot say enough great things about her. Thank you for all of your hard work!

(A+++) A MUST HAVE! I originally made inquiries with many local planners before meeting Lu and I never got a good vibe from anyone and seemed like just another bride to them. I then thought I would try to do it all myself. I got to the last few months before the wedding and solicited help from weddingsbylulu. She made me feel like I was the only bride in the world and it did not matter what my budget was, my wedding would be special to her and everyone else. Lu is always available to talk with and kept me on track. She has literally responded to me when I emailed her at midnight during my planning process! She truly takes time to get to know you and saw my vision and executed it impeccably. Lu is reasonably priced, dependable, and pleasant to deal with. She was totally reliable in my last minute emergencies, kept me on time, gave me suggestions and helped me to stay on budget. For the wedding she outlined the day in 10 minute increments so that at every moment I knew what to expect would be happening and her and her assistants made sure it all went as planned. My 20 month old son was having a temper tantrum minutes before the walk down the aisle and Lu’s assistant located his diaper bag on the other side of the church in minutes to get his favorite snack and located the person I needed to babysit him. Her design for my décor was beyond what I imagined. Hiring Lu was the best wedding planning decision I made.

Lulu was great at targeting what I wanted within my budget. She was professional and got the job done that worked for us. I was an out-of-town bride and looking on the internet was so overwhelming. I was a California bride who had our wedding in New Orleans. I am an accountant and so I needed someone who would be organized and provide a sense of confidence in executing our vision.

My fiancé and I interviewed many wedding planners, and finally settled on Lulu Alexander when she made us feel like we weren't just another wedding to get through. Her website design and colors also sealed the deal because we felt it was indicative of her professionalism, creativity, and tech saviness. We planned most of the wedding ourselves and hired Lulu to do day of wedding coordination, flowers, and decor, but she has provided more service than that. I would send her long emails and we would have telephone discussions about setup, timing, and vendor suggestions.

Lulu has a calm demeanor. This came into play when it rained twice on our wedding day. She created beautiful flower arrangements and put together the dining tables beautifully. Her team was comforting especially when the guest transportation was 30 minutes late. She has done so much for us, that I cannot possibly write down everything.

Overall, I would recommend Lulu as a wedding planner.

I was impressed from my initial contact with LuLu - I loved how quickly and thoroughly she responded to emails, and that she followed up on my questions and concerns.

I planned my wedding during my third year of law school and the weeks leading up to the wedding were also final exams and the holidays - LuLu really took away any stress I had about all of the planning during those times so that I could focus on studying, and she stayed in contact while I was out of town, contacting all of my vendors in the weeks before the wedding to confirm. Though we had hired her for "day-of" coordination, she went above and beyond that one day of work for sure. In the days leading up to the wedding, I also was in contact with Lu's assistant Ashley, who was also very professional. I didn't meet Lu or Ashley until my wedding day, but they were really pros at everything they did. With two coordinators, there can be one person supervising set-up at the wedding site while the other keeps things on track in the getting-ready areas. I really liked this dynamic. The smallest details were covered - I loved the fact that LuLu brought a ring polisher to my hotel room for me to use, that they kept track of my flat shoes for when my feet started aching, and that every little wedding detail made it home to us - cards, toasting flutes, even my bouquet wrap and broach.

Finally, I'll say that the best thing about LuLu is that everything went totally smoothly on my wedding day (or if it didn't, I didn't hear about it, which was how I wanted it). Despite chilly weather, vases and programs blowing away, and a vendor who decided not to honor her contract, my wedding day was stress-free and wonderful.

There's so much that I can say about Lulu, but if I had to sum it up in one word it would be AMAZING!!! What initially made me decide to hire her was her sense of urgency. When I submitted my initial inquiry into her services, she responded in less than 24hrs. She was 1 of 3 coordinators I reached out to and she immediately responded. I appreciated our very first call and questionnaire as I had no idea where to start. She's extremely organized, honest and creative. She will not lead you down the wrong path and will ensure what you're asking for is realistic and within budget. Her team is amazing and our wedding day was magical!! Lulu and her Team were wonderful on the day of. She has a calm, mild temperament that went extremely well with my own.
Neither my mom nor I had to worry about a thing! Best investment of the wedding!

Lulu did a great job for our wedding in New Orleans. She helped us with our first trip to select the venue, setting up hotel blocks, and had a lot of useful information to help us select our vendors. She also has a florist that she works with, who did a wonderful job, a warehouse of decor that you can rent, and an eye for decoration that really helped take the pressure off of me. I would say that Lulu's strength is definitely the week before and the day of, as well as decor. She decorated the venue, handled the day-of payment of vendors, and provided a team of assistants who really helped run things smoothly. I wouldn't have been able to do the day of without her for sure, and I relied on her for a lot of advice and logistics the week of. She also has a mailbox where we sent some of our things in preparation for the weekend, which was super convenient for out-of-towners. All that said, I still did a lot of work. Lulu started working with us a year before the wedding and really ramped up the week of and definitely on the day. I would say her pricing is fair for the amount of work she put in over an entire year. The only reason that I've taken stars off is that I honestly did worry about responsiveness at times. There were moments when I'd ask some questions and get radio silence for up to two weeks, and there was an issue with two out of three hotel blocks that Lulu had set up. I had to redo them. She was late to our initial meeting when we were seeing venues, and deliverables often arrived after her self-imposed deadline. There were definitely times, especially early on, when I felt like I had to check in and check up on what she was doing. But Lulu really pulled through as we got down to the wire. Sometimes, I must admit, I couldn't really handle this kind of suspense, but we had a wonderful day, truly the best one in our lives so far, our friends and family loved it, and the venue looked amazing, and we were very happy with it. That's all that matters.

I have never written a poor review in my life, but I just wish someone would have done this for us to read prior to booking Weddings by Lulu. Normally, I think a lot of times people write negative reviews just because they have an axe to grind. For us, we honestly wanted to warn people to stop and think before booking Weddings by Lulu for one of the most important days of their life. We thought we were booking someone who would helpfully navigate us through the wedding planning process in New Orleans, but what we got in return was an unmitigated, unprofessional disaster. Barely did anything delineated in our contract and was unfortunately very unprofessional. Please, future brides, do your research, ask other vendors, and do not hire Weddings by Lulu.

I was very disappointed in Lulu's services. I hired Lulu because she had great reviews online. Our initial phone conversation was great. Shortly after that, I started having doubts. But I convinced myself that it was ok because her reviews were so good and I thought things were going to turn around. Unfortunately, they never did. The biggest problem I had was that she was an hour late to a meeting we had scheduled with another vendor the week of my wedding (it was a destination wedding). So we had to have the meeting without her. The morning of the wedding no one could contact her for a few hours. While she was at the wedding she was rude to a few guests. It was totally unprofessional. In addition, she was unresponsive - weeks would go by and I often had to follow-up multiple times before she'd respond to my emails. She was not attentive - I would email her with important details and she would ask about them later as if I never told her. She was not detailed - the floor plan that was part of the contract was completely unusable (it had seating for 30 more people than we had). After the wedding, she was supposed to collect some of the things that I brought and a bunch of votives never made it back. From start to finish, working with Lulu was frustrating and a disaster.
