Out-of-State Elopers
My husband and I could not have chosen a better officiant for our elopement in August of 2022. We live in upstate NY however eloped in South Carolina at "Pretty Place" Chapel. As out-of-staters, it was important to us to have an officiant who met our needs, especially since our total guest count was less than 5... our officiant could quite make or break our whole day being as the ceremony was the "biggest" piece. After my initial phone call with Lisa, she was hired! Lisa was VERY attentive. She followed my lead and helped finalize our custom ceremony with her experience. Prices were comparable to the market, but you get an extra piece of confidence with Lisa's communication and the custom marriage certificate - truly makes you feel special. If you're looking for a wedding officiant, I highly suggest Lisa!! -

Would recommend for your big day!
Lisa was great, she is flexible, quick at responding, and easy going. She made us very comfortable at the rehearsal and ceremony. She also gave us tons of suggestions to incorporate into our ceremony and vows. -

The PERFECT planner/friend/director EVER
There’s no words to express how much you NEED Lisa in your wedding planning. From officiating our wedding to planning to laughing with us, she does it ALL. While my fiancé was deployed throughout the wedding planning process, Lisa was there for me. Every idea, every thought, every wish of ours, she was ready for! While I was getting ready, she was the voice, the steady hands, the director, at the venue. I knew I could count on her, relax during the morning of and know that she was handling everything. For an example of how much she caters to her couples: she sent us our own personalized ceremony speech weeks before for us to critique and make our own so we knew exactly what she was going to say. I could go on and on!

Lisa sent me some ceremony models so I could piece one together and it turned out beautiful. She was super friendly and replies fast. She also gave us a copy of the ceremony and a symbolical marriage certificate that we can keep forever. -

Lisa was the perfect person to marry us!
My husband and I are not members of a church and were nervous finding someone to marry us that had the right amount of faith, spirituality, and love for weddings. We met Lisa and immediately felt so comfortable with her, she also planned most of the ceremony but with our inputs which was so incredibly helpful because we did not know where to start! Our ceremony was beautiful, I could not recommend Lisa more! -

Amazing made everything flow and took a lot of stress off me!
Lisa was amazing I don’t know what I would’ve done without her. I’ve never been in a wedding before and did not know how anything worked and she explained it all to me and made it as stress-free as possible. My wedding was perfect with no mishaps! Lisa made the process of our wedding so simple and easy. Everytime we ran into a snag she had a suggestion or helpful recommendation and trust me, there seemed to be a lot of them!
She has a lot of contacts and was so willing and flexible to changes. I also really appreciated how much she cared to make our wedding day special for both of us.
Her pricing was really affordable. She also makes it really easy and helps prepare the entire ceremony ahead of time! -

Lisa is wonderful - would absolutely recommend!
Lisa is absolutely wonderful! In addition to being a lovely person who is a joy to work with, her services are above and beyond and at a very reasonable price. We live out of state but she made the whole process easy by providing us with a number of materials and was always available to answer our questions. Prior to the wedding, she provided us with a number of ceremony examples that we used them to script our ceremony, and she also gave us information about how to apply for our marriage license. After the ceremony, she filed our license for us, gave us the required forms for name change, AND provided a beautiful copy of the ceremony for us to keep. And, of course, the actual ceremony was so lovely! We were nervous about having someone officiate that didn't know us as a couple, but we didn't need to be, because Lisa felt like family. I can't say enough good things about her! -

An awesome experience
Having Lisa as both our planner and our officiant was such a great experience. I was trying to plan a wedding from out of town, and it was such a peace of mind to know that she was familiar with so many vendors and had working relationships with them. I was a bride going for a casual, relaxed wedding, and Lisa was able to make sure the important things happened while I was able to socialize with our guests. She was a great communicator, and answered even my most weird questions quickly. I felt that my reception was in good hands, that someone would be there to help coordinate with the DJ, caterer, and bakery, and I was able to focus on enjoying the pre-wedding festivities with my friends and family. The variety of vows were so helpful, and we were able to find one that exactly matched the kinds of things I wanted to say to each other. Lisa is also able to deliver personalized service - she is not a part of a big business, and I appreciated all her efforts for helping us have a great wedding. If you are a bride that is looking for a vendor in South Carolina, I highly recommend Lisa for both home and out-of-state brides. You will love her! -

Lisa is amazing. Not only did she custom our ceremony to us she made sure that we remembered everything day of the wedding. She even included a side piece into our vows from a tv show that my husband and I love. Every step of the process she was polite and engaging to the point I feel like I made a new friend! Her prices are reasonable to where I didn’t even blink at meeting her price even though the venue was a bit of a drive. Thank you soooo much Lisa for helping our day be that much more special!!! Lisa is an amazing officiant. We wanted to get married on Christmas Eve and she willingly took time out of her festivities to travel to Columbia and perform our ceremony. Christmas has always meant a lot to me, but Lisa has made it all the more special. We were able to call with any questions at any time. She is a warm, truly gracious person. My husband and I hired Lisa to be our officiant and day of coordinator. She was wonderful from our first meeting! She and her husband Pete were so warm and personable, we knew we wanted to work them immediately. She went above and beyond, sending reminders that helped keep us on track through the final days of planning - that was a huge help as I was not the most organized bride. The ceremony she wrote for us was so beautiful it brought tears to my eyes when I read it for the first time. It was exactly what what we wanted. The day of went off without a hitch. Both Lisa and Pete were there to help meet vendors, help with final touches and wrangle us all to keep things moving and on time. It was such a pleasure working with them! We highly recommend Lisa! -

Where do I start with Lisa! She is the best. Reliable, professional, knowledgeable, personable and dependable. She was our go to person for everything and kept me calm and stress free months before the wedding and on our wedding day. She was always available by phone, email, or text. I truly believe I could not have handled planning our day without her. I didn't know Lisa beforehand, but once we started working together she felt like a really good and helpful friend. She made our whole wedding planning and day of experience a wonderful one! The day of the wedding her husband (who works extremely hard) and Lisa were team players and communicated very well to each other to make exactly what I envisioned come to life even if it meant for them to run for it themselves! We had Lisa officiate our wedding! She was very easy to work with and very accommodating to our wants and needs. (Even though I was extremely scatter brained!) Lisa married my husband and I in September 2016 at Pretty Place. She was very accommodating and met us on two occasions before the wedding to nail down the exact ceremony we wanted. She was well prepared for any questions we had, and made what can be a very overwhelming process an absolute breeze. Lisa gave us the ceremony of our dreams and I can't say enough wonderful things about her. She helped make our day unforgettable. -

Lisa was a lifesaver! She ended up helping coordinate my wedding at the last minute and even went out of her way to pick up my flowers on wedding day. Lisa makes you feel like a part of her family and it was so special to me during this really important time in my life. I loved that she pretty much let me write my own ceremony and listened to everything I had to say about what I wanted the ceremony to be like. Her husband was also extremely helpful in coordinating the ceremony and bridesmaids and groomsmen. :) -

I'm not sure I would have had as great of a wedding as I did because of Lisa. At first I was planning on something simple in the backyard of my friends house, then she recommended a couple places that were no cost as I didn't want to spend a lot. We ended up having a great wedding and I owe a lot of that to Lisa. Thank you Lisa you are highly recommended. -

We gave her two weeks to get ready for our elopement, and we couldn't have been happier! She responded quickly to all of our questions and gave us several sample ceremonies with the flexibility of tweaking to fit our personalities. The day of, we met for the first time, and she was very comforting and happy. We chose the place we wanted, and the ceremony went exactly as planned. Lisa made our day special, and we are so grateful for how little stress went into it! -

We wanted to write our own vows and ceremony but didn't know how to get started so she gave us lots of examples. We were married at Pretty Place, an open air but covered chapel. The wedding started at the edge of the chapel but a thunderstorm, yes - really, with blowing rain made us move up into the chapel into the guests. Lisa took it all in stride and didn't miss a beat. It started so seriously but the storm had us laughing. Even the butterflies didn't want to fly. She was terrific! -

I contacted Lisa about two months before the wedding. I was short notice and a little disorganized but she was very professional and friendly. It's rare to find that combination in a person. She was sweet, understanding, considerate, and she did everything she could to make sure we had what we needed to make our day magical. She also provided the information and the forms I needed to get my name changed. Lisa was above and beyond what I could have asked for in an officiant. We had to have a last minute officiant for my military husband who was due to come home from deployment at any time and she was there exactly when I needed her. Always responded right away with my emails and texts, and most of all she was one of the most kind spirited people I've met! My husband & I wanted to write our our ceremony & vows ourselves & she was very accommodating & sent us several samples of her past ceremonies which we use pieces of for ours. She picked up our marriage license for us & gave us a whole packet at the end of the wedding with all of the things we needed. I initially hired another officiant and was having a really bad experience. I began to panic and decided to find a new officiant ASAP. Lisa responded to my message right away and met with my husband and myself in person within just a few days. We had a non religious ceremony and Lisa passed no judgement. She helped me put together the ceremony I wanted and met us for rehearsal the day prior to the wedding. I had no coordinator and she really stepped up and helped my family figure out how to structure the ceremony. On the wedding day, she was fabulous! I had so many compliments on our ceremony and how wonderful our officiant was! She was very helpful, kind and enthusiastic. She gave us a nice marriage certificate copy that we will frame and all of the paperwork needed to get my name changed at Social Security and the DMV. A true pleasure to work with; thank you so much Lisa! -

I highly recommend Lisa Baker to all brides in the Upstate looking for an affordable, kind, and caring officiant who will create their perfect ceremony! Lisa was a pleasure to work with. My husband and I are not religious so we wanted a somewhat non-traditional ceremony. Lisa gave us a substantial amount of print outs of previous ceremonies she's done for other couples, and we were able to piece together everything we liked from those to create our perfect ceremony. We did not have a wedding planner or director, so she stepped up and did a wonderful job during our rehearsal and the day of our wedding, organizing our families and wedding party, telling them where they needed to be and when. After the wedding, she gave me all the forms I needed to change my name in a convenient packet, which was very helpful. She responded very quickly to emails, which is my preferred method of communication, so that made planning extra easy. We loved working with Lisa. She was one of our easiest and best vendors to work with. -

Lisa was amazing the day of our wedding! Also, the days leading up to our wedding, Lisa always responded immediately, no matter the time of day. Lisa gave us a ton of choices for a wedding ceremony and edited it to our liking. She was very helpful in helping me get everything together to get my name changed. She also gave us a beautiful copy of our wedding ceremony for a keepsake. I would definately recommend her to anyone who needs an officiant! -

Mrs. Lisa was a true lifesaver. After our official had dropped us two weeks before the wedding, the bride was stressing over who would marry us. We had a dilemma in planning, as our scheduled wedding had to be moved from 2 weeks away to 2 days away. We were frantic and losing our minds, but Lisa came to our rescue and responded right away to our request! She was absolutely wonderful and super sweet about the whole thing, especially for it being such short notice! Our hand-fasting was beautiful and the ceremony she found for us was perfect!
