Turned my bridal dreams to a reality

I am so glad I chose Weddings by Celissa for my wedding hair and make-up, for myself and my entire bridal party.

From the get-go, I knew I wanted more unusual hair styling - more akin to an elven princess than a classic bride. Celissa immediately understood the look I was going for, and styled my hair in such a unique and beautiful way. It was far better than what I could have imagined.

I also do not wear much makeup, so was unable to give much direction on what I wanted. It didn't matter, as Celissa guided me through make-up colors, products, etc and even gave me tips I can use at home. She chose colors and tones that complimented my complexion and hair wonderfully - as a ginger this can be tricky. I got many compliments on my hair and make-up on my wedding day.

Aside from being an extremely talented HAMU artist, her and her team are also amazingly friendly, up-beat, and warm ladies. We chatted and sang all the way through my HAMU trials and my wedding morning.

I wouldn't have changed a thing and would recommend Weddings by Celissa to anyone!

The best there is!

Celissa did my hair and makeup for my engagement photos, rehearsal dinner and wedding so I have lots of experience to draw from while writing this review - and I have nothing but love for this amazing woman! I have had my hair and makeup done professionally on several occasions, by multiple different artists, and Celissa is by far the best. She is not only insanely talented and professional but she is kind, calming and actually listens to you, asks your opinion throughout the whole process and fine tunes everything to your exact preferences and makes it all look so easy! She and her team did hair and makeup for 8 of us on my wedding day - and everyone looked absolutely stunning. She had the hair and makeup schedule planned out to the minute and even added a bridesmaid of mine to the schedule mere days before the wedding without hesitation or complaint. She had everything finished ahead of schedule, kept a drink in my hand, music playing and was just a calm and supportive presence the entire day. She even stayed with me as I waited to walk down the aisle and calmed my nerves, touched up my hair and makeup throughout photos and changed my hair and makeup after my ceremony so I had a completely different look for the reception - and the entire new look took her maybe 15 minutes! She even cut my hair on my wedding day (at my request) to blend my hair extensions and give me some face framing curls. Talk about above and beyond! She specializes in wedding beauty which is hugely important - she will make you look amazing both in person and in photos and has a clear mastery looks - from retro to natural to glam - she can literally do it all! Your hair and makeup artist will be spending so much time with you on your wedding day and is so pivotal to how you feel and look so be sure to choose the best and that is Celissa! Do not hesitate to hire her and her amazing team for your wedding day and all wedding related hair and makeup needs!

Very sweet and talented

I highly recommend Celissa to anyone for beauty! She was such a fun and sweet person to work with. I was completely happy with everything she did and she never had a problem with changing things up if i wanted to try something new. Her team is very fun and really fast! Everyone was happy with their hair and makeup and everyone was beautiful!

Simply the best

We chose the BEST hair and make-up specialist in the Austin area! Celissa came to my daughter's apartment a month before the wedding to learn about my daughter's expectations. She was so easy to talk to and my daughter was very comfortable with her. The trail make-up and hair session was AWESOME and we knew we hired the right person! My daughter and the wedding party were absolutely gorgeous. I honestly couldn't have been more pleased with Celissa and her staff. Celissa was extremely flexible when the timelines had to be shifted but everyone still finished on time! I would highly recommend Weddings By Celissa Rae!

Amazingggggg!!!!

Celissa was so amazing!!! She made every part of my experience so easy, from the first trial to my bridal session all the way through our wedding day. I am veryyyy particular about my hair and makeup and she did such a great job that I never even looked in a mirror on my wedding day after she was done!! Everything stayed flawless the entire evening! She was so great I now drive an hour to have her cut and color my hair! Would recommend her to everyone!!

Wow! Celissa is the bomb! My airbrushed makeup looked gorgeous and stayed looking that was all day long. Our hair was done exactly how we wanted and she couldn’t have been more fun to laugh and work with. She’s a gem and you can’t go wrong hiring her! Love!

This review is a little delayed because I don't even know where to begin with how amazing Celissa is. I found her after I had an unfortunate experience with another hair and makeup artist that I used for my engagement photos. I came into my trial weary of the experience and desperate for help since my wedding was only a couple months away. From the very start, Celissa was absolutely wonderful! I don't wear a lot of makeup, so she was very good at making sure I was comfortable with everything she was doing. I didn't give her a whole lot of direction other than a few things I knew I didn't like and she came up with a hair and makeup style that truly made me feel beautiful. Trust me brides when I say, the last thing you need to be worrying about on your wedding day is how you look. Celissa will take care of you! One thing I really loved is that she does not mess around with timing. She sent a schedule before hand of what times she would be doing everyone's hair and makeup. Not only did she stay on time but she even worked ahead of schedule. This gave us extra time for pictures and fun before the ceremony started! I can't tell you how sweet she was, once we got to the venue my nerves started kicking in and she could tell. She cleared the room, made me put on music, and poured me a mimosa while she finished up my hair! Her services are absolutely worth the money. I've never felt more beautiful than I did on my wedding day! Thank you so very much Celissa!

Celissa is so incredible! We met to do the trial and I was so impressed with my hair and makeup! She was communicative and kept me up to date on everything and even made me a schedule for myself and bridesmaids so there were no questions. While getting ready we had 8 women getting ready in a tiny room and she never complained and got everyone ready on time. I felt so beautiful and had so many compliments that night. Thank you so much Celissa!!! :)

Where to begin to tell you how awesome Celissa is?!?! You want Celissa to do ALL of your wedding related makeup, no, you NEED her to. She will make you look phenomenal, she will keep you laughing, she will help you keep calm and regale you with terrifying tales of weddings gone wrong so that you know the things going wrong on your day really aren't so bad. Celissa was endlessly patient and graceful with the complete chaos that my wedding day turned into. An unexpected storm of epic proportions blew in on my wedding day blocking my path to the venue from where I had picked up my dress. Celissa quickly restructured the make up plan for the day and worked on the bridesmaids and moms until I arrived. When I got there, feeling frazzled, exhausted and penitent for being tardy and damp (she needed my hair dry for my 'do), she handed me a blow dryer with a smile and helped me remain calm as I watched the courtyard in which I was to wed slowly fill with inches of water. She, along with her sister (her co-artist / partner for the day), and our splendid photographer Amy Gawlik, really felt like part of my group of friends and I couldn't have been more thrilled having all of their great upbeat energy, expertise, and general radness with me for my big day. How did my makeup look? I have never looked better. I am still prone to breakouts and wedding stress had done a big number on my face that week, not only did she completely disguise any trace of my breakouts, I looked GREAT, my bridesmaids looked AMAZING, and the moms looked WONDERFUL. In our trial session she was very open to creative experimentation, which was fun and ended up working out a really great look I'd not have requested on my own originally. Her creativity and skill with makeup was so on pointe and innovative I actually plan to book her for some makeup lessons in the future! Celissa will forever be my go-to make up gal for any special event.

I struggled to find someone for my wedding hair and make-up. THANK GOD I found Celissa! I'm pretty sure she is a hair and make-up magician. My sisters, mom, mother-in-law and myself absolutely loved her. She was on time, so fun to work with, had awesome ideas and did an all around killer job. This woman is amazing. Simply incredible.

She was recommended to me by my wedding planner, and I am SO HAPPY. We started by doing a trial, and I only did make-up, not hair. I have very curly hair and thought I would wear it mostly down for the ceremony. However, once the day came, I change my mind last minute and did a big high volume, yet low and messy bun. She nailed it. No hair trial, just a simple picture and few words to express the look I was hoping for, and she hit is spot on.

My makeup was also flawless! She was so great because she gave me suggestions based on my skin, eye lashes, etc. She also slowly eased into the eye makeup to ensure it was dramatic but still classy. At the trial and day of, she also taught me and my bridesmaid tricks to the trade for us to use later.

The biggest surprise was that both my hair and me make-up staying on all night! I was dancing hard and working up a bit of a sweat, so I find this to be remarkable - especially because my hair is usually out of control.

I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone needing hair or make-up services. She is truly a professional, and even though our time together was limited, I would consider her a friend. She is a sweet and classy lady that provides flexibility and calmness during chaos and she delivers!

Celissa was absolutely amazing to work with! She did my hair and make-up for my bridal portraits and wedding day and I absolutely loved the results. I am a very indecisive person and I did not know how I wanted to do my hair and make-up for my wedding day. Celissa was so patient with me and tried numerous different hair styles until we found the perfect one! I ended up wearing my hair half up/half down for my ceremony and pinning it up afterwards for the reception. The results were beautiful and I couldn't be happier. Celissa and her staff are also very fast! She did hair and make-up for my 12 bridesmaids as well as my mother & mother-in-law. Needless to say, we were on a tight schedule to get everyone done on time and she had no problem getting it done. All my bridesmaids looked amazing and I would recommend her to anyone. Beyond her work, Celissa is such a sweet and caring person and I was very lucky to have her support on my wedding day.

I don't even know where to start... She was AMAZING! Before my own wedding I was in 3 of my friends weddings. Each time I had issues with the hair and makeup that we had done and never liked BOTH my hair and makeup. And other girls in the wedding parties were the same way. Not only did ALL my girls like their hair AND makeup, but so did I! I was so happy with the way my hair and makeup turned out. I did a trial, but after being in other weddings, I figured out I wanted a darker look. She was happy to make any changes from the original trail. I can't say more good things about her and her team. She is worth every penny!!

Celissa was highly recommended by a friend and I was excited that she was available for my wedding. I used my hair trial for my bridal photos 2 weeks prior to the wedding and was so happy with the results! She’s fun to talk to, sweet and does a fantastic job! My makeup looked natural but glamorous at the same time. She did hair, makeup and lashes for some of my bridesmaids as well. Celissa communicated well and was so flexible and nice with my indecisive bridal party. I adore this girl and her work! She’s magical!

Celissa was so very wonderful to work with. She was very attentive to my wants and needs for both hair and make up for all stages, bridal portraits, trial, and wedding day. Always making sure at each and every step that it was exactly what I wanted and envisioned. Her make up technique of airbrush basically eliminated the need for editing in all photos. Hair was perfect from beginning to end of ceremony. I highly recommend her for your event needs. Her kindness, workability, flexibility, and expertise is hard to beat.

Celissa and her team were talented, efficient and accommodating in doing hair and makeup for the mothers, bridesmaids and the bride for our daughter's recent wedding. The team questioned each person on the look they desired while incorporating the bride's vision. As I looked at the wedding party during the ceremony, I thought, "Every girl looks gorgeous!" And our bride's hair and makeup was just exquisite! Celissa provides great service at a great value! I highly recommend her!!!

I used Celissa for my bridal hair and my flower girl and jr bridesmaid. She did AMAZING!!! I had a 3 yr old and 6 yr old. Their hair stayed in all night!! And she was so quick at doing their hair, knowing their attention span wasn't very long. She also did my make up. A phenomenal job. Make up looked perfect all night. And was waterproof. No smudging. She knew exactly how to do my hair with the picture I showed her. And we didn't even do a trial. I was so pleased with the way everything turned out!! If she's available, she's a busy busy woman, I would definitely have her do your wedding. AMAZING!!!

I had a very big day last Friday and Celissa, wow what an artist. I gave her almost no information on what I wanted... I just didn't know myself and she knocked it out of the park! I went from plain Jane to bombshell in about 30 minutes. I can't recommend Celissa enough. She is a true artist!

Celissa and her team were fantastic! When I first e-mailed her, she responded right away and after getting some information, she sent me a tentative timeline of the day. Being a very organized person, the schedule she sent early on put me at ease. I had a few designs and she tweaked them to make it fit my hair without losing the look and the makeup was just what I wanted- I looked natural but it brought out my eyes. Her team was there early and ready to go and they even got through everyone early! Celissa makes you feel really comfortable and really wants to bring your vision to life. The hair and makeup held-up wonderfully even on our cold and rainy wedding day. It was a great experience!

I am happy that I choose to have Celissa do hair and make up for my wedding! Whenever I get my hair and make up done for special events I often feel like I don't look like myself anymore. Celissa did a great job of listening to the look I was going for and gave me just that. I still looked like me but she did a better job than I could have done myself in 1,000 years.

Another thing she did well was stay on schedule with the large number of girls she had to do. Everyone looked amazing and she finished all the bridesmaids and both moms ahead of schedule. With all the commotion on the wedding day, I really appreciate her staying on (ahead of) the schedule she made!

Overall, Celissa is a joy to work with and if I had to do it over I would definitely use choose to work with her again!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Celissa and her team. I have been in several weddings this year and for some reason the hair and makeup has tended to be the most stressful aspect of the weekend. Each time we found ourselves running behind and one of the bridesmaids had to do her own hair. This will most definitely not happen with Celissa. She not only showed up early but had an extra support person to make sure we got through my list of people. We finished 30 minutes early!

In terms of the quality of her work I would again recommend her 100%. I did a practice hair run and thought it was right but emailed her a few weeks later saying I wanted something a little more ornate than just a bun. She showed up the day of the wedding with a list of photos that she thought looked like what I wanted and would work with my hair, all research done on her own time.

Lastly, Celissa is so much fun to spend time with on the wedding day. From my grandmother to the flower girl, everyone had a blast talking to her and came away with styles that they loved. If she is available snatch her up quickly for your own wedding!

Celissa is such a sweetheart and I so enjoyed the time I got to spend with her, both for my bridals and on my wedding day. She was flexible with time as schedules got complicated, gave me recommendations on products, was happy to tweak hair and makeup per my feedback, and even put some top coat on my nails when I woke up that day with sheet creases on them!

Oh and on top of all that, I got to hear all night how gorgeous I looked. I told everyone I couldn't really take the credit! Thank you, Celissa. :)

Celissa did my daughter's wedding hair, my hair (MOB) and 7 bridesmaids hair. SOOO glad our wedding coordinator recommended Celissa, her work is amazing. When my daughter sent me a picture of her trial ,
it made me cry it was so beautiful, it was exactly what I had dreamed of for her. And my daughter wanted her

I will admit that I wasn't sure I needed my hair and makeup done on my wedding day. However, I decided that it would probably be worth it, and went with Celissa since she was recommended to me by a friend. I absolutely could not have made a better choice! I don't think I will ever feel as pretty as I did on that day!! Celissa was so flexible, even when we had a change in our timeline day of. She answered all my questions leading up to that day with patience, and helped me sort through the billion hair styles. When she finally arrived and asked what I wanted, I told her I wanted simple, natural makeup, and my hair down with some of my flowers in it. With little to no direction, she transformed me into exactly what I could have ever hoped for. On top of her talent, flexibility and professionalism, Celissa is one of the sweetest girls out there. I was so pleased with everything about the experience.

Celissa kept me from having a panic attack after my SECOND hairstylist cancelled on me a month before my wedding. She responded almost immediately and called me that same day. I could tell from the first conversation that she knew her stuff. She was very responsive and very professional. I live four hours away so she squeezed my hair trial inbetween appointments. Very accommodating as well.

At the trial I showed her a complicated up do that I had my heart set on. She played with my hair for about fifteen minutes and it was done. One try. I have long, thick hair and she was able to look at two pictures and give me something remarkably similar (no way could it have been replicated exactly). All of my hair was up, it was super elegant and not bulky at all. It takes a lot of skill to pull all of my hair up and not have it look bulky. One thing to keep in mind: she was able to give me what I wanted because I found a hairstyle that worked with my skin tone and hair color. Blonde styles don't look the same on brunettes. Keep an open mind and be open to suggestions. She is very good at what she does.

On my wedding day she and her team showed up EARLY. She had given me a timeline but she and her team got us all finished early. She brought a makeup artist with her for bridesmaids' makeup, but Celissa did my hair and makeup. My hair turned out even better than the trial (that's what 115 bobby pins will do!) and she gave me exactly the style of makeup I wanted. I have never felt more beautiful and that's the way a bride SHOULD feel on her wedding day. The entire party's hair and makeup were amazing, and we all received a zillion compliments. My hair stayed in place all night and I was as camera-ready at 11 PM as I was at 2 PM.

Celissa is one of the nicest, sweetest people and you can tell she genuinely cared about making my day special. If I lived closer I would be a regular client for sure. My hairstylist crisis ended up being a blessing in disguise.

I was very pleased with the makeup. It was natural and not overdone. I received many compliments from friends at the wedding, and friends who have seen pictures of my son's wedding have commented on how nice my makeup looked. I am so glad I found Celissa! She was recommended by my planner and a friend and she was absolutely perfect! Having done makeup for weddings in the past, I am incredibly picky and particular about how my own is done and was wary of having anybody do it just right. Celissa not only did a simply gorgeous job, but she was very patient with me, adjusted my makeup when I asked and even shared her beauty secrets and tips with me, one makeup lover to another. The trial went flawlessly and my hair was more perfect than I could have imagined for my bridals. She came to Camp Lucy and did my hair and makeup as well as multiple bridesmaids and moms under a time crunch without making me feel stressed or under pressure at all. She redid my makeup day of when I was being really picky with a smile and eased the stress of the whole room including the bride!! On top of that, her prices are beyond compare, and I did a LOT of searching and comparing. I cannot say enough how wonderful Celissa was, any bride would be lucky to have her!

I am extremely blessed to have found Celissa for my hair & makeup on my wedding day! She was a true gem to work with...always so incredibly flexible (especially when dealing with 7 bridesmaids!) and always so generous with her time. She was available to chat Anytime I had a question and that meant a lot to me!! She gave me great advice and her input on hair styles were beyond helpful. Celissa is amazing. I have ZERO regrets about picking her out of the hundreds of stylists in the Austin area. I had a bridal trial with her where she listened to what I wanted and tweaked it until I loved it. Months later, for my actual wedding, the makeup and hair was perfect. I changed my mind on my hairstyle the week before my wedding--Celissa made it beautiful and flawless with no hesitation. She recommended products for me to purchase and use on the day of for after she left. I am in love with the makeup she recommended for me! I now wear my "wedding lipgloss" on a regular basis :) My bridesmaids had great things to say about getting their hair done as well. She changed everything they wanted and they were all happy. Also, Celissa does AMAZING eyelash extensions. I have had my eyelashes for over 2 weeks now and only lost ONE! Everything with Celissa is worth the price. Where do I begin... Celissa impressed me from the start. I needed someone who could do my hair and makeup for my wedding and bridal portraits. Prior to finding Celissa I tried two other hair and makeup artists who did not seem to listen to my vision as well as Celissa did. She made it happen! Not only is she INCREDIBLE with hair and makeup but she is reliable and professional. She always responded back in a timely and kind manner and was always such a joy to work with. I found that finding someone who had all of these qualities (being talented with BOTH hair and makeup, reliable, professional, and all around fun) was hard. Celissa was such a pleasure to work with! I was a bridesmaid and was very overwhelmed at first with the task of finding a hair and makeup artist 4 hours away from me. I called her and she made everything seem so simple! With the addition of an EXTREMELY reasonable travel fee, she was willing to travel with our ladies all day. She came to our hotel at 7am and traveled with us to the venue so that the bride could get ready there. She stayed with us all day and was such a trooper! Her sister came as well, and did all of the bridesmaids makeup, which was phenomenal! I cried several times throughout the evening and you couldn't tell one bit. They were very punctual and good with handling time...they never had to rush. The quality of their work is top notch and they are the friendliest yet most professional people I've worked with in the hair and makeup field. You will not regret booking them for your event...I promise!

Celissa was amazing to work with for my big day!! Not only did she make the process fun and mesh right in with all the girls, but she also did incredible work. Celissa did the hair for me, all the bridesmaids, flower girl and mothers and everyone's turned out great and held throughout the evening. Her work with my bridal make-up was perfect! It was beautiful and elegant, yet still natural and held through the heat and even a quick jump in the pool. She isn't joking when she says her products are waterproof! I was so impressed by how pretty I felt with my hair and make up done by Celissa. What I liked most about Weddings from Celissa Rae was how accommodating they were. As a girl who never enjoys being the center of attention, I can honestly say that the first time I felt genuinely excited about being a bride was after sitting in Celissa's chair for my hair and makeup trial. Celissa was a true joy to be around and because she, too, was recently married, she understands the stress and pressures brides are under and has a way of putting them at ease. Celissa was a friendly, fun, and fabulous presence to be around during the hours leading up to my wedding. She and Cassidy are very easy to work with and are flexible with their schedules in order to accomodate the changing needs of their bride. They both did an absolutely beautiful job on me, my mother, and my four bridesmaids...six ladies who all have very different personalities and preferences for hair and makeup. Celissa was absolutely wonderful! She arrived early and worked diligently to follow the schedule. She handled getting 8 bridesmaid ready on time, which is difficult because we are a bit of a rowdy bunch. She is professional and helpful. Celissa is a talented and professional hair genius! During my first appointment she mentioned to me that she attends workshops to stay apprised of the best hair and makeup trends. After my appointment with her, I would say her devotion to her trade has paid off! During the practice run, and on the actual day, she styled my hair in a lovely curled half-up-do. The curls lasted all day (and into the next!). My makeup looked flawless, and was exactly how I asked her to do it - very natural with a slightly smoky eye. Her friendly disposition also makes her a joy to be around. Our wedding was at Red Corral Ranch in Wimberley; Celissa knows the team there, and was able to help us feel right at home on the big day!

Celissa was wonderful! She did an amazing job and perfect for my big day. I had 10 girls in my wedding party not including my 2 flower girls and everyone felt and looked incridble. Not only did everyone look great but all of our hair and make up lasted all night outside in the September heat! I also got eyelash extensions done by her 2days before my wedding and they looked awesome and lasted all the way threw my honeymoon and then some. Celissa made all of us feel so at ease about the big day and was so sweet. I defiantly recomind booking her for you're next big event. I could not of asked for anyone better!

I have thin, really fine, hair that makes it hard to hold a curl very long. Celissa fixed my hair exactly the way I wanted it and it held all day. She was quick and is really creative!

"Celissa was absolutely amazing to work with. She did my hair, all three of my bridesmaids, and my mom's make-up. Everyone's hair looked absolutely amazing and held up throughout Texas humidity and dancing. She was able to work with very different hair types and styles without a flinch. Honestly, she went above and beyond her duties and was incredibly professional and very personable. She spent a lot of time working with what hair style went best for my BIG DAY and was always in constant contact with me throughout the process. I don't think I could have had a better experience!"

Beautiful work, accommodating

Celissa did a wonderful job with my makeup and makeup for all my bridesmaids and mothers! Everyone loved it! She is great with both hair and makeup. She was super accommodating and came to my venue to do my hair and makeup before my rehearsal dinner as well. I would highly recommend Celissa - she is responsive to your requests, easy going, and a calming presence on the big day. She makes payment easy and clear. Very trustworthy.

Celissa is so wonderful, I can't wait for my future hair cut and color needs, so I have an excuse to go back and see her again! She and her team were so wonderful, they did the hair and make-up for my entire bridal party, includes mother's, and my bridal make-up (only reason she didn't do my hair is because a family friend did it instead). I have never received so many compliments on my make-up before! It lasted the entire night, and she's not lying when she says her make-up is water-proof, it survived many many tears of joy!

Celissa Rae and her sister did an amazing job with my wedding make up on 9/27/14! I felt beautiful throughout the entire evening. They were very professional and even arrived early to set up. She was also very responsive through email and very accommodating to my ever changing schedule haha. Highly recommend Celissa to anyone needing professional make-up in the area!

Celissa was wonderful. I didn't give her much notice for my wedding day and she responded immediately letting me know she was available. She kept in contact with me making sure to understand what I wanted before my event. She showed up early and finished up so quickly it really made the day go smoothly. My hair came out perfectly.
