Our wedding at Hilton Head’s Palmetto Dunes was made extra special by the ceremony guidance and officiating by Rev Dr Dan Hogan! We cannot recommend Dan highly enough! We hired him last minute for our Hilton Head Island wedding, and from the very first interaction he was incredibly responsive and accommodating — especially impressive given that we weren't local to the area.
Before the ceremony, Dan took the time to meet with us and made us feel completely at ease. He was attentive, easy to talk to, and you could genuinely tell that he cares deeply about his role in each couple's wedding day. He wasn't just going through the motions — he was truly invested in us.
And then came the hurricane. Yes, an actual hurricane. Dan rolled with every last-minute location change without missing a beat. His calm, flexible attitude turned what could have been a stressful situation into something that still felt seamless and special. He made the entire process easy from start to finish.

We feel so lucky to have had Rev. Dr. Dan Hogan officiate our wedding. He went above and beyond to make our ceremony feel personal, meaningful, and truly reflective of us as a couple.
He took the time to meet with us beforehand and really get to know our story, which made such a difference. By the time the wedding day arrived, we felt completely comfortable and at ease knowing we were in such good hands.

Dr. Dan Hogan was so sweet and responsive throughout the process. He helped me access the online portal to submit the marriage license and offered us phone pre-wedding counseling (since we are out of state), which was super helpful and insightful. The ceremony was beautiful and exactly what we wanted. He worked seamlessly with our wedding planner to create the perfect ceremony. He fit our rehearsal into his busy schedule! We were married on the beach at the Westin Hotel at HHI in early October. We both moved to the Beaufort area a couple of years ago, and while we have visited some churches, we haven't yet found one we were ready to join. Dr. Dan Hogan was suggested as a possible officiant when we were working with the Westin on wedding plans.
He was excellent to work with. He is easy-going and conversational. We met a couple of times in person before the wedding to get to know one another and spoke over the phone as well. I appreciated his perspective on marriage, faith and relationships. We are in our 60's, but we are very active. Our wedding was designed to be a celebration of friends and family, combining the beauty of a fall day at the beach and elegance of the Grand Ocean Terrace room at the Westin for our reception. The service that Dan prepared was a perfect fit for us and provided the foundation for a joyful and loving ceremony and the beginning of our life together. His fee was very fair, but more importantly, we were hoping to find a minister that we connected with both as a friend and spiritually. My wife and I have been together for over 6 years and had our marriage license for several years. Our friends and acquaintances say we are inseparable and called us ( the Hilton Head A team { Audie and Angie}. Most thought we were married and others often asked us when was the date of the wedding . We asked ourselves why not make time and get married. Now looking for a vendor to marry us and selecting a place became a challenge. This website was wonderful and after researching and reviewing several different vendors we found Dan Hogan. He took charge asking questions having background conversations and accommodation of our interests for a small event. We took his advice and it turned out outstanding.

Review of Dr. Hogan
Dr. Hogan was an absolute delight to work with throughout our engagement and wedding journey. We coincidentally met Dr. Hogan while we were out to lunch on vacation a few years back and immediately had this feeling that he would be part of our wedding plans in the future. Upon getting engaged in 2024 and deciding on Hilton Head Island as our wedding destination, we reached out to Dr. Hogan and he remembered exactly who we were and was more than happy to officiate our wedding. We met with Dr. Hogan a few times to discuss our relationship goals and review how we would like our ceremony to flow. I really felt like Dr. Hogan cared about us as a couple and made sure that we were ready for this commitment. Our private rehearsal with him before the wedding ensured us that we will be confident and calm during the ceremony and know exactly what to expect. We were also able to take care of the wedding certificate during this time and Dr. Hogan had everything ready for us. Our ceremony was beautiful and Dr. Hogan did a fantastic job and we couldn’t recommend him more! -

We got a chance to make introductions in person a few months before our wedding and he made the time to sit down with us for about 30 minutes to get to know us and learn about us as a couple. His communication skills are outstanding as he got back to us so quickly on all of our emails. He was also a tremendous resource for us as he is knowledgeable about marriage licenses, offered several different options for our ceremony, and offering guidance on how to do the name change process. Planning a destination wedding can be challenging, but Dr. Hogan's clear communication and quick responses made planning our wedding ceremony stress-free and fun. We had never been to SC and he was very informative about the area and recommendations. Dan walked us through getting our license and beach permit online, we chose a ceremony and we were set! Dr. Hogan was an incredible part of our wedding experience; he was so supportive in the planning process, meeting with us twice ahead of our wedding to talk about this next step in our lives & to rehearse everything so we would feel prepared.
He was very communicative & made a point to make our ceremony unique to us. We got many compliments from guests that they felt it was such a special & intimate event to be part of, which is exactly what we were hoping for. We can't say enough about how great the experience was.

We have known Dr. Dan Hogan for approximately 20 years as he was the pastor that first married us. We wanted him to marry us after we attended a wedding he officiated because he was so compassionate and personable. When it came time to renew our vows 20 years later, we were ecstatic that he was still performing ceremonies. He put a lot of thought and care into our renewal vows, backstory, and prayers for us. It was a day we will never forget. He also took care of all the details and recommended several different places and was very accommodating with our schedule as to the day and time we needed. We are beyond grateful to him and his continued ministry. It would be hard to find a more caring person to officiate a wedding or renewal ceremony.Weddings and Vows's reply:

Perfection! Very Responsive, Professional, Dependable
Working with Dan was amazing!! Stop searching and contact him now!!!! He’s very responsive to all communication and helps create a ceremony that is memorable. He walked us through everything we needed, there was no guesswork and he’s so very, very nice and so easy to work with. This was by far once of the very best, and simple parts of the wedding. We were super comfortable with him and there were zero doubts about how much he cared to make our ceremony “ours”, memorable, and meaningful and he really cares about you both as a couple. He is very prompt and arrives early which will put a nervous bride at ease! He is so experienced he even knows when to pop out of the way so your photographer gets those amazing pictures of just the couple!!!
We opted to do the Myers Briggs assessment as well to learn more about ourselves as individuals so we could better communicate as a couple, and Dan walked us through our individual styles and pointed out our strengths we each bring to the marriage. Even though we’ve been a couple for years, it was great to have the information and learn about each other.
Hiring Dan was a decision we don’t regret or question for one second! Reach out to him and you won’t be disappointed. He’s awesome!

Dr Dan is Amazing!
We can’t recommend Dr Dan Hogan enough. All of our guests commented on how much they loved our ceremony. We had a lot of material we wanted to cover in under 30 minutes and Dr Dan was able to write the perfect ceremony that checked all of our boxes. He’s extremely professional, inspirational and funny too. We live in Indiana so we were a bit nervous working with a pastor whom we didn’t know and also from afar, but he made the highest efforts to meet with us in person twice before our wedding. He made us feel comfortable the entire time, took all our nerves away. We would recommend him to anyway in the area!Weddings and Vows's reply:
