We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect officiant than Jim for our wedding. From the very beginning, he was organized, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our ceremony feel personal and meaningful. He took the time to really get to know us as a couple, and that truly showed in how beautifully he told our story during the ceremony.
Jim’s delivery was warm, engaging, and professional—striking the perfect balance between heartfelt and lighthearted. So many of our guests commented on how special and memorable the ceremony was, and that’s a true testament to the care and effort he put into it.
He also made the entire process completely stress-free, guiding us through everything we needed to know and making sure every detail was covered. On such an important day, it meant so much to have someone we trusted completely.

A thoughtful and wonderful human
When we first stumbled across Jim, my now husband and I were both lost in a sea of folks who were promising to be the best and "everything we ever needed", but with Jim, it was so easy to see that he was a perfect fit. He was looking to truly connect to us and make OUR day special for us, not just what he thought it should look like. He took the time to call us and understand both who we are and what we were looking for, and as nervous as I was standing up there, his warm personality made the evening very stress-free. We have family and friends from many backgrounds who come from an array of religions, spiritualities, and beliefs- and Jim connected to absolutely everyone there with the underlying theme of love, which is what brought us all together in the first place. We got an array of compliments about him, and I could not recommend him enough! Your day is special, not just another day in the office (as it may feel with some vendors), and Jim makes it feel like such!

Perfection!
We planned our Wedding from CT with no idea how or where to have the Wedding. We only knew that we wanted to get married with our toes in the sand!
I found Jim Burch online and was impressed by his reviews. After a short FACETIME call with Jim, I knew he was the one! Jim not only explained the process in a way that erased any anxiety I had, he helped guide me through the steps and steered us in the perfect direction from the Resort to stay, the place to hold the wedding, and our quaint reception afterward. Everything was perfect.
Jim has the unique ability to create your ceremony uniquely for YOU! After our conversations he learned enough about us to make our ceremony personal, everyone in attendance was so appreciative of how he tailored everything exclusive to us and our family. I am so happy he made our Wedding such a beautiful, memorable experience.

Perfect Ceremony on Sanibel!
From our first call with Jim, we instantly connected! We shared commonalities regarding religion and spirituality as a whole and I knew that he was going to highlight this in the ceremony he curated for us. Leading up, we exchanged several emails and Facetimes so we were always on the same page. We received so many lovely compliments about the flow, content, and overall delivery of our ceremony. It was a HOT day and it didn't phase Jim-- he showed up in a full suit ready to go and didn't miss a beat. So thankful throughout the whole process

A Beautiful Day
Jim was such an amazing addition to our day. From the beginning, at booking, reading all of his glowing reviews from other couples is what really made us make the jump to hire him. I had grown up religious and my husband was not so he was that perfect blend for us. Every conversation with him leading up until the day was so joyous and love filled. After the ceremony, guests were coming up to me saying how beautiful the ceremony was and how incredible our officiant was. Throughout the ceremony he would give us simple cues so that we know what to do and when which helped us just be present in the day. The whole ceremony was beautiful and flawless. My Husband and I spoke with several other officiants before we found Jim. Immediately after speaking with him my husband and I both knew he was the prefect fit for our wedding. My Fairytale Union
All my life I have dreamt about marrying my prince and on December 30, 2022, I DID!! Minister Jim Burch officiated our wedding and he knocked it out of the park.. we are not a religious family, I am spiritual but my husband is an atheist through and through.. Jim gave us a some different options of what he could say on our special day, not too many options but also not too few.. when he spoke of love at our ceremony, it truly felt like he had know us all our lives and had personally experienced all of our very quirky love.. my husband and I were so incredibly grateful and blessed to have Jim officiate our wedding, my whole family and every single guest was thrilled with the kind and thoughtful things that he said.. I should have written this review a long time ago.
It’s been several years since Jim officiated our wedding in Virginia but I always look back fondly at how well our special day went. I feel terrible for not writing this sooner but better late than never.
Jim was wonderful; he worked with us on very short notice and was very flexible. We changed our original wedding plans and decided to just have a quick ceremony in a park. He was able to accommodate us within a day’s notice. He included our daughter in the ceremony and made her feel very special as well. We couldn’t have asked for a better officiant and we will always remember how special he made our day.

Simplified ceremony design
Jim is a true professional, and he made our ceremony planning process as easy as possible. He's so experienced that he has a couple of ceremony blueprints based on the vibe you're going for, and each blueprint comes with options to tailor the ceremony for each couple. We supplied our own readings and used one of the vow options Jim provided, despite our initial desire to write our own. We had a beautiful ceremony and it was exactly what we hoped it would be.

We hired Jim to be our officiant, and he sure did an excellent job as keeping our ceremony short and sweet as we asked him to. He gave us choices of "wordings", and we were able to choose one that fits us the most. Even though we did not have a rehearsal before our wedding, but Jim made sure that everyone in our wedding party stand, and line up like they supposed to. He made OUR wedding so smooth, and we cannot thank him enough.

Perfect wedding thanks to him!
Due to the pandemic, we had a very small wedding and having Jim officiating made the wedding felt so enriched and full of love and happiness! Jim is wonderful!
We found Jim through our venue's preferred vendors list. He was wonderful to talk to and really won us over with his kindness and passion for weddings. Jim does a great job communicating and has a lot of different options for what can be said during your ceremony. Jim's ceremony was wonderful at our wedding. He kept the crowd engaged and made sure that we knew what to do. One of our favorite things that Jim did was print out our vows in a larger font, then hold them across from us (all out of pictures way - trust me!) and guided us as we read them. This was so helpful, especially because you really don't know how nervous you get when it comes to speaking in front of a bunch of people trying to tell your significant other how much you love them - ha! He also allows you to read your own if you do not want to go with that option. Another thing that we loved that Jim did was he prints out a nice version of a marriage license for you that is much more decorative than the one you get from the court house. There is room for your bridal party to sign it as well, which our bridal party loved. Overall, Jim did an absolutely amazing job and our guests are still talking about how great he is. My husband and I highly recommend him!

Our Perfect Ceremony
After getting engaged, we knew that we wanted to have our ceremony and reception at the same place. We also knew this meant we would need to find an Officiant who could meet us in the middle with the sacramental elements that our families would like to see and the discussion of partnership and teamwork that our relationship has built itself on. Jim showed us exactly how we could do that. His options for our vows, readings, declaration, and more were so beautiful and our ceremony was absolutely perfect for us. We received countless compliments. My personal favorite part of Jim's ceremony was the final words about how no one can truly decide for anyone else who they love. Amazing Officiant!
I was searching around for officiants and found Jim on Weddingwire and after a meeting with Jim on the phone, we knew that he had to be our officiant.
We were able to customize parts of our ceremony which we loved being able to do. Not only was our ceremony amazing but we got to keep paper copies of our vows.

Planning a wedding during COVID times was a very stressful experience. However, Jim was extremely gracious and more than flexible during that time. His efforts to help us is one of the many reasons that we were able to make things work out. We were in fact one of the lucky ones, as we were able to go through with our wedding, as originally planned, this past April 2021. Our wedding turned out beautifully, and Jim did a fabulous job as our officiant! Friendly, flexible, professional.
My wife and I contacted Jim about performing our ceremony about two months before we wanted to have it. Jim replied promptly and worked with us to set a time and date that worked with everyone. We used his home's garden area (which was gorgeous and spacious) for the ceremony. Jim asked us some simple screening questions to help decide exactly how we wanted our ceremony to go, and tailored it to our liking. The verbiage and length were both perfect; my wife and I loved how special Jim made the ceremony feel for us. Jim also sent the marriage license paperwork to the courthouse without delay.
I would highly recommend Jim to anyone seeking someone to officiate their marriage.

We were incredibly lucky to have found Jim to officiate our wedding. Even under such short notice (two weeks) and while we were scrambling to get everything together, Jim helped us set up our perfect ceremony. Everything came together beautifully. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding. Even though the venue and weather just happened to work out perfectly, Jim provided a wonderful emotional atmosphere. You can hear happiness and joy in every word that he spoke. Amazing Officiant - Loved by Both Families of Different Faiths
My wife and I eloped last month during COVID and while we weren't able to have the wedding we had initially planned, we wanted something intimate and special with our closest family and friends. Jim brought with him the sense of ritual, spirituality, and ceremony that we had hoped for on our special day, and he also did so while pleasing two families of very different religious backgrounds.
Unlike many vendors we spoke with, Jim opened not with a discussion of prices or timing, but instead by explaining his theory of love and the universe. My wife and I were raised very differently but we both agreed with his perspective and the ceremony, the homily, and the lead-up to the event were carried out with the upmost respect, warmth, and understanding.
We are very glad we went with a professional like Jim, as opposed to having a friend or family member officiate, as it took pressure off the day for our few guests, he is an amazing speaker and showrunner for even a small ceremony, and it let us entrust to him a lot of the things that might have worried us when we just wanted to focus on each other.

Love means Everything
Reverend Jim Burch is a wise and kind man. His years of spirituality has led him to help lots of couples, whether religious or not, to join two souls together in a spiritual matrimony. For most of my life, I have often doubted the existence of any higher power. But the improbability of loving my wife as much as I do has given me pause and made me consider that higher powers may indeed exist. Jim shares this belief, that love is both foundational to- and a gift from- the powers that be. My wife enjoyed Jim's kind demeanor, while my belief in love made selecting Jim more meaningful. Jim offered ceremony and location suggestions for our reduced ceremony (due to COVID). He appeared with a warm smile to brighten up our cloudy/drizzling morning ceremony.

Jim made our wedding special!
Picking the right officiant was very important to us. We have been to a couple of weddings where we just sat there at the ceremony and was bored out of our minds because it was just someone standing at the front talking to the guests. Jim is not that type of officiant. From the first meeting, he told us that he was not just any boring officiant. Boy was he correct. When we first met, we knew he was the one to officiate our wedding. He was very nice and sweet and he picked up on our religious preferences and how we wanted to incorporate that into the ceremony. He never pressured us into doing everything by the book and he made sure that we were comfortable with everything and that it was all-natural. On the day, he followed all of the guidelines that were in place due to COVID and he made everyone laugh with his face mask that made all of the stress and nerves of the big day go away. During the ceremony, he made sure that our guests were interactive and did not get bored and they loved it. They kept saying how much fun it was and how they loved that they didn’t just sit there through it being bored. We also greatly appreciated how he incorporated our loved ones who we were very close to but sadly could not be there. Our parents and ourselves truly loved how he brought them to our day in spirit. Jim helped us with everything and guided us through the ceremony when we were overwhelmed and forgot to do something or didn’t know where to go. Afterward, one of our guests and her husband told us that Jim officiated their wedding 10 years ago! He was so amazing and we don’t think our day would have been the same without him there. He made sure that we were happy and comfortable throughout the ceremony and we can not thank him enough for all that he did for us!

Great ceremony with Jim!
Like many weddings, our ceremony--set to be this spring--was postponed until last week. I appreciated Jim's responsiveness and commitment to professionalism; he always replied to my emails or phone calls quickly, and he was very adaptable. I also loved how my (new) husband and I were able to customize our ceremony so that it fit exactly what we were looking for. The ceremony itself was great--Jim is an interesting speaker and very well organized. He had a binder with every reading and vow printed out so that everything went off without a hitch. My husband and I are so glad we chose Jim to officiate our wedding! Perfect quick notice COVID wedding!
We like many couples this past spring had to make the hard choice to change our original wedding plans. We still wanted to get married though, so we called up Jim and just about instantly had a date and a plan! He made it so easy for us from the deposit to the gorgeous location behind his house (such a nice hidden oasis!!) and a ceremony so much more thoughtful than we could ever have asked for! Pulled off the perfect wedding
I lost track of how many times people came up to me after the wedding saying how much they loved and connected with Jim’s sermon and ceremony. He was professional, kind, flexible and a welcome addition to our wedding. Even when we had AV equipment issues during the ceremony he took it in stride and kept the ceremony going with little to no interruption. He also took the time to visit with people after the ceremony and my dad (the son of a pastor) thoroughly enjoyed speaking with him. Flexible and went the extra mile (literally)
When COVID-19 threw a wrench in our wedding plans, we had to scramble to change some of our plans. Jim Burch was very supportive and ended up traveling almost 3 hours to our ceremony when we changed the venue. An officiant was not something I had spent a lot of time researching so I'm so glad we went with a pro like Jim. He has an excellent structure for his ceremonies but still has room for making it unique and your own. He also does a lot of extras that I wouldn't have thought about but were really special-like a commemorative license, program for the ceremony, etc. The ceremony was beautiful and he was professional, on time, and put everyone at ease even though we never really did a rehearsal. Not to mention a good sport about the Virginia heat and humidity. I'm so glad we went with Jim Burch for our special day! THank you!

Having the right officiant at our wedding was an important aspect to both my wife and I. Jim was definitely the right person for us. What really stuck out to us about Jim, beyond his overall message (which is wonderful and really resonated with both of us), was the fact that before we even began talking about how the ceremony would go, Jim took the time to ask us about us, our faiths, our upbringings etc., really getting to know us. By our second call we could picture Jim marrying us as he spoke. Jim’s ceremony was wonderful and everyone at the wedding loved it. We had several guests tell us at later times what a beautiful ceremony it was. Overall a wonderful person, very thoughtful on everything, and excellent ceremony. You will love it.

Great officiant!
We hired Jim for our wedding and we are so glad that we did! We met with Jim a few times before the wedding and he was very personable and great on communication. We wanted to have a religious ceremony and Jim delivered exactly what we wanted. Beautiful Ceremony!
Jim did a wonderful job with our interfaith ceremony. He spoke beautifully in a way that recognized both of our religions and it brought our family together. After the wedding, several of our family and friends brought up the ceremony to say how much they liked Jim's speech.
Jim is also an extremely experienced professional when it comes to managing the ceremony itself. With all of his experience, Jim can give useful practical guidance on how to organize the ceremony and prevent any stumbles. (For example, he walked us through how to seat our parents so that my father-in-law wouldn't step on my wife's dress after walking her down the aisle.) Coordinating small things like that may seem immaterial, but it took away any anxiety during the day. During our ceremony, he subtly guided us, and made sure we looked good. We're so glad we chose him to be our officiant.

The perfect ceremony
When we were interviewing officiants, we knew right away after our phone interview with Jim that we would likely book his services. Once we sat down and went over the options for the service it was the perfect balance for us.

Having the right officiant for my wedding, in my opinion, was one of the most important parts. It can really make or break a ceremony. Jim was truly amazing and went above and beyond. I could have not asked for a better officiant. He is such a wonderful person, and when he spoke during the ceremony - I looked out in the crowd and everyone was listening. He is a marvelous speaker. It was amazing working with Jim as well. He helps you build your own ceremony script to really make it your own. I would 100% recommend Jim to be your officiant. You will not regret it.

We are so thankful to have found Jim and not only have the chance to get to know him as a person but to have him perform our wedding ceremony. He walked us through everything start to finish and he got to know us and helped us customize our ceremony so it was perfectly suited for us. He was so down to earth, warm and welcoming and was a wonderful speaker. We had numerous guests come up to us and specifically tell us how wonderful Jim was and what a beautiful ceremony we had. The best part was the fact that we were SO nervous and it was hard to remember what we were supposed to do and when when, but we really did not have to worry about that as Jim guided us, whispered to us and directed us along the way so we could follow his lead on what we were supposed to be doing. He was also such a calm and comforting presence that it calmed my nerves. Because of this, our ceremony went seamlessly! Jim was the officiant for our wedding. My wife and I were really glad that we found him. He was very kind, professional and considerate. Jim made the process very easy and he worked with us to include certain things from the bride's/wife's culture. We were very happy with our ceremony as it was thought provoking, fun and memorable. Many of our guests told us that they loved the ceremony, and one of our friend's told us that the ceremony was so beautiful that it made him cry. 10/26 DC Wedding
My husband and I were looking for someone to officiate our wedding that would be a compromise for not getting married in a church (as my mom wanted). Jim came referred to us from our wedding planner and he was the indeed the perfect compromise. Jim made us feel at ease throughout the whole process by meeting with us twice before the wedding and explaining his background, beliefs, and experience. He calmed our nerves on the wedding day and made everything run absolutely perfectly. I would certainly recommend Jim to others looking for an Officiant that is legitimate.

Thank God I found Jim
As a catholic, the sacrament of matrimony is very important to me. However, my wife didn't want to the long and boring traditional catholic wedding and i don't blame her. This is when we finally found Jim. He had such a charming personality, a fun attitude and took all the stress of the wedding off of us. We still had a communion. There were stills scriptural qoutes. It just wasn't boring. We are so grateful we found Jim. He even had a templated document for us, with several choices for each part of the ceremony and he reminded us a few days before that we don't have to memorize anything - he took care of it all. During the ceremony, Jim gave us every cue and hint we needed to carry on smoothly. There were a lot of officiants to choose from and none fit us. Jim is awesome and there is no one else on earth I would have wanted to marry us.

Perfect officiant!

Better than we imagined
I am so thankful my husband and I found Jim to officiate our wedding. Neither of us are particularly religious, so we did not have a pastor/priest that many couples go to when they start to plan their wedding. We were open about our views with Jim and not only was he completely respectful, but he truly exceeded our expectations during the ceremony. Everything was thoughtful and rooted in the meaning of marriage and love, and he was so well-spoken. Every single one of our wedding guests said how great he was and many even said it was the best ceremony they had ever been to. Some officiants can be boring or monotone, or speak to things that are not important to the couple, so I realize how nerve wracking searching for an officiant can be. I promise that Jim is not of these things, and you will be so glad that you chose him. We highly highly recommend.

Amazing Officiant
Jim was the perfect officiant for our special day! From the moment my husband and I met with him I knew he was going to be a perfect fit! MY husband and I have opposite religious views and I was nervous about how that was going to play out during our ceremony. From talking with Jim the first time I knew I didn't have to worry. Fast forward to our special day and it was an amazing ceremony. Jim made each and every person feel that they were apart of the ceremony. Both my husband and I couldn't have asked for a better ceremony to represent us. So many people from multiple religious backgrounds couldn't stop talking about how amazing our ceremony was. Wonderful Officiant
Jim Burch was incredibly professional and easy to work with, and we greatly appreciated his guidance in helping to plan our wedding ceremony. Perfect Wedding Officiant
I cannot say enough positive things about Jim Burch. Jim is gracious, funny, and thoughtful. As an Officiant, Jim is incredibly well-organized, prepared, and flexible.
We met with Jim twice before our wedding day to map out all of the details of our ceremony. Jim helped us to create a wedding ceremony that reflected on who we are as a couple, right down to the most minute details.
On our wedding day, Jim was punctual and the ceremony went off without a hitch!

Wonderful officiant!
My husband and I had our officiant cancel 3 days before our wedding and finding Jim was a blessing. He was very prepared and helped us figure out exactly what we wanted said during our ceremony. He’s funny and has a great energy about him and is SO EASY to work with. Having him as our officiant definitely calmed my nerves because I knew everything would run smoothly. Beautiful Christian-style wedding ceremony!
We couldn’t have asked for a better officiant for our wedding than Jim. After coming to the disappointing realization that we could not be married in the Catholic Church due to living together, I was on a quest to find an officiant who would perform a Christian-style ceremony. Aside from wanting a spiritual ceremony, my now-husband and I wanted someone we felt like we clicked with and that understood us as a couple. Meeting with Jim the first time set any concerns we had with a stranger marrying us at ease, and within five minutes of leaving the meeting we both agreed he was the one! Jim is a wonderful and detail-oriented individual who is easy to communicate with and very helpful in creating your perfect ceremony. Delivered a memorable Ceremony
We had a wonderful ceremony in no small part due to Jim’s calm, professional, thoughtful and spiritual demeanor. He made the entire process very simple to understand and when it came to the ceremony itself, it went as smoothly as possible. Jim provides an opportunity to customize the ceremony so that it is a perfect fit for you and is willing to work with you to ensure that the day is perfect.
We were not in search of an overly religious ceremony and Jim was respectful and understood our intent. His remarks were well-received by our guests (if a little lengthy) and he brought humor and humanity to what could have been a stale event.

Beautiful Ceremony!
Jim did a wonderful job helping my groom and us customize a ceremony that captured our love story. Our family and friends really enjoyed the day, and we had such a good experience working with Jim. It's hard to find a good balance of spiritual and personal, and as my husband and I don't subscribe to a specific religion, so we didn't want it to be too by the book. Jim was amazing to work with! He is a very nice person, very responsive and patient. I found Jim in the WeddingWire. For the first sight, I know he would be our officiant. We want a short but impressive ceremony, and Jim did just that. The first time we went to jim’s Home, he introduce the procedure for us and give us a lot of information. It was a truly special ceremony
Jim was amazing to work with! He was very responsive and patient. From our first call, I knew he was going to be our officiant. We wanted a short but sweet ceremony and Jim did just that! He was able to make our small intimate ceremony so special and we felt the presence of God's love surrounding us. When the ceremony was over, we took a picture with Jim and said our goodbyes. However, we forgot about our sign marriage license! Oops, definitely need that! Jim stayed around until we took a few pics with our family and we spotted him in the corner. He was patiently waiting for us to get our marriage license back and also provided us a copy of our ceremony. We really appreciated that! He was very professional and made everyone in the room feel comfortable. You won't be disappointed if you book Jim to officiate your wedding!

So so happy with how it turned out!
I know it sounds cheesy, but Jim's words during the ceremony really made the love shine through :) You can tell he really cares about what he does, honestly and deeply, and he helps you make sure you have a ceremony that matches you and your partner's desires. He was incredibly flexible and open throughout the whole process, and made our roles during the ceremony easy and simple for us to understand. Our families also appreciated his sincere messages of love; I and my family are religious while my (now) husband and his family are staunch atheists, but he was still able to inspire such powerful feelings of love that both our families could appreciate and enjoy.
If you have any concerns about choosing Jim to officiate your wedding, let me tell you, you don't have anything to worry about! He's a great, easy-going guy with a sweet sense of humor and I'm glad I came across him!

Our ceremony has not yet happened, but based on the initial meeting and the documents prepared ahead of time, I am sure things will turn out great. Jim Burch seems like the perfect fit for our wedding. We wanted to include a little of our faith and religion, but did not want a church wedding and so far, Jim seems like he put on a great ceremony.

An Amazing and Experienced Officiant!
Jim was an amazing officiant for our wedding! He not only managed to perform a beautiful ceremony but made preparing for our wedding incredibly easy.
From the moment we contacted him to be the one to bless our marriage, Jim made the process simple and stress free. He provided all of the readings, vows, and event options, allowing us to choose what we wanted at our ceremony. Using our choices and his vast experience, he was able to craft a beautiful sermon that everyone at our wedding loved!
Jim was incredibly flexible with his service as we asked him to give our wedding a bit of a Catholic touch to the proceedings. This was on behalf of the mother of the Groom. Jim had no problem meeting this request, and she loved the flourishes he gave during the ceremony.
We cannot stress enough how many people at our wedding liked his speech on love. Jim contributed a large part to what was called a "perfect wedding" by our guests.
We are incredibly thankful and blessed that Jim Burch was our officiant, and we highly recommend him to everyone. He will make your wedding just as perfect as ours was!
