Amazing officiant!

Jim was the best choice that we could have made for an officiant. He was incredibly accepting, and welcoming, and our ceremony turned out absolutely beautiful because of him.

Jim did such a wonderful job officiating at our wedding ceremony -- it was so beautiful and meaningful for both me and my (now) husband and for our families. We went into the wedding planning process feeling somewhat unsure about what we wanted the ceremony to be like. My husband and I were both raised as Catholics and wanted to have religious elements to our ceremony, but did not want it to be overly religious. Jim’s ceremony ended up being perfect for us; there was a simplicity to the ceremony, but also a recognition of the significance of the moment.

Another aspect of Jim’s ceremony that we appreciated was its user-friendliness. We are not the types to write our own vows, and we needed some direction in how to organize the ceremony. Jim had a number of options for each stage and a good sense of timing – e.g. we had a choice of various sets of vows, we could choose to include family in various ways, Jim had good suggestions for readings, where to have a musical interlude, etc. The other nice aspect of the ceremony was that it was easy to follow with minimal, unobtrusive prompting from Jim. This meant that little rehearsal was required, just a discussion about how things would go. It all worked out perfectly.

Jim Burch Wedding ceremony

My Husband and I spoke with several other officiants before we found Jim. Immediately after speaking with him my husband and I both knew he was the prefect fit for our wedding. He had multiple options (religious & non-religious) and was very accommodating to fit our needs. He was very calm and organized. Every time we would talk to him it felt like we were talking to an old friend. The ceremony was beautiful and the perfect amount of time. He went above and beyond and we couldn't thank him enough!

Jim was a fantastic officiant. Our ceremony was beautiful and flowed perfectly, and Jim's talk on love was moving. If the perfect officiant came down to two words it would be Jim Burch!

After our 1st meeting, we knew then and there he was the one for us. We did interview a few others since we had already made appointments, but no one can compare to Jim.

That 1st meeting was like dealing with an old friend - we felt comfortable from the moment we sat down and he asked us questions to get to know us and what we were looking for and then he shared with us his thoughts and his process.

Our dealings with Jim were always quite easy and then there was our big day! Sheer PERFECTION!!! Both my husband and I come from different religions as do our families and EVERYONE who attended could not stop the compliments about Jim and his service.

Jim was wonderful to work with. My husband and I are both extremely happy with his presence at our wedding. He was a joy to work with, and he was always kind and positive, professional, and prompt. His love for weddings is evident in all our photos too, where he is always smiling, and genuinely looks like he truly loves what he does!!! He also has a way of including everyone on the guest list, so that everyone can relate to the wedding regardless of religion, faith, or cultural background. Our wedding was a Christian wedding; however, Jim goes out of his way to speak to everyone, and I think he has a passion for trying to unite people as one. We were very happy with our choice to work with Jim. He put us at ease on our wedding day, and he knew exactly what to do, even when we didn't. It was a lovely day, perfect in every way!

I got married on 04.21.18. Jim was the best officiant I could ask for, he was very friendly and personable, and was flexible in altering the nuptial to match our spiritual views. Jim also provided a program to use for our wedding which saved me time near the wedding date. We got compliment after compliment on Jim's style. Very professional would definitely recommend.

I would recommend Rev. Jim Burch to anyone needing an officiant for a wedding. From the first time I talked to him over the phone, I felt instantly at hme with him as if I had known him for years. Amazing Officiant!

I was searching around for officiants and found Jim on Weddingwire and after a meeting with Jim on the phone, we knew that he had to be our officiant.
We were able to customize parts of our ceremony which we loved being able to do. Not only was our ceremony amazing but we got to keep paper copies of our vows.
I would recommend Jim to anyone!

Jim provided us with amazing advice before the wedding which without a doubt settled some of my nerves, but more importantly he truly showed how important our wedding was to him. Before walking down the aisle Jim came up and talked to me about how things were going to go-this was consistent before the wedding as well with the invitation to call him anytime and his extraordinary flexibility. I would recommend Jim to anyone who wants to get the fullest out of their wedding day. The words he spoke were full of wisdom and love and I could never fully thank him to the extent of what he showed in his professionalism. I will forever be honored to have had him as our officiant.

The perfect ceremony

When we were interviewing officiants, we knew right away after our phone interview with Jim that we would likely book his services. Once we sat down and went over the options for the service it was the perfect balance for us.

Jim Burch was basically a godsend. We had no suggestions for an officiant and no experience planning a wedding so after finding Jim online and reviewing his website, we felt he would probably best represent the feelings we wanted for our wedding. My husband's family are Catholic and my side of the family ranges from Athiest to Methodist. Jim was able to create a ceremony in which the love was felt by everyone and each person was able to enjoy the spirituality of the ceremony while keeping them involved in it as well. I have to admit that have found that many ceremonies I have been to become boring and long. Jim was fantastic. He was interesting, lively, gave phenominal speeches and he was able to capture the essence of a wedding, love, and make everyone FEEL it. People got so caught up in the romance of the ceremony that you could literally SEE the love. So many people were overwhelmed with the feelings Jim was able to catpure, we had people crying, laughing, smiling, kissing, etc. I felt that he did such a good job and was able to create a ceremony that made EVERY SINGLE PERSON, and of different religions, more than happy and also extremely impressed. To this day I have people ask me about our officiant, how we found him and how fantastic he was. Right after the ceremony I had several people ask me for his information!!! Beside Jim providing a officiant service and a ceremony that will NEVER be forgotten (we have friends who bring up how amazing it was every time we see them) he was a blast to have at the wedding as well. The guests had a great time talking with him and Jim was also very helpful in coordinating the ceremony and getting everything organized. I did not have to worry about a thing! We didn't have a rehearsal and Jim was able to make sure everybody knew what was going on and everything went so smoothly, everyone looked great and no one missed a beat. Throughout our time planning the ceremony with Jim, he was so flexible. He tried his best to make his schedule accomodate to ours and also provides a very reasonable cost and it very understanding as well. Overall, I obviously cannot rave enough about Jim Burch. He excelled beyond the hopes we could have ever had for our ceremony and everyone who was there that day will remember the magic!

Jim Burch was our wedding Officiant and he did a wonderful job. He tailors each part of the ceremony to your liking and gives you plenty of wiggle room to make the ceremony come together to represent the couple. Jim was personable and was easiest to reach by phone, even though he does email too. We had to meet twice before the wedding and spoke on the phone a few times as well. He has been doing this for years and his experience shows. Everyone commented on how beautifully the ceremony and words were. Thank you Jim!

Rev Jim Burch conducted a beautiful wedding ceremony for us. My husband and I are not very religious so his non-denominational ceremony choices were perfect for us. He made everything very easy. Wow! I really can't imagine our wedding without Jim Burch! He was so professional, friendly, and really enjoys what he does. I absolutly loved how he gave us a packet of options, that allowed us to costumize our wedding, but not be overwhelemed with how we could make it our own. We talked with other officiants through e-mail, and none of them were right for us. We wanted someone with experience and who could help us have the wedding we dreamed of. Jim Burch was that guy, and he was absolutly one of the best decisions we made when it came to our wedding. I would recommend him to anyone! We still have family calling to say how much they loved him!

Jim rescued my husband and I from the clutches of disaster. Our friend was going to marry us but within 3 weeks of the wedding we found out there were issues and he could no longer perform the ceremony for us. I quickly researched officiant's and contacted Jim after seeing all the wonderful reviews about him. Jim was so accommodating, we were able to quickly schedule a meeting to discuss our ceremony and plan. Jim makes the entire process so easy because he already has a set template but room to customize based on your preferences. His style is spiritual but not overly religious so the service is very accommodating to people of all beliefs.

After the wedding, we had several guests tell us they thoroughly enjoyed our ceremony and appreciated the different approach Jim brings to the table. We are so happy he was available and helped make our wedding day as memorable as we hoped it would be.

Above and Beyond!

Jim was the officiant for our wedding. My wife and I were really glad that we found him. He was very kind, professional and considerate. Jim made the process very easy and he worked with us to include certain things from the bride's/wife's culture. We were very happy with our ceremony as it was thought provoking, fun and memorable. Many of our guests told us that they loved the ceremony, and one of our friend's told us that the ceremony was so beautiful that it made him cry. Jim was so great and easy to work with. He was organized, quick to respond, easy to get ahold of, and incredibly nice. Our families are Roman Catholic and were not thrilled about not having a Roman Catholic officiant but after the ceremony they all came up to us and told us how beautiful the ceremony was and how great Jim was. They loved his message. I would recommend Jim to anyone looking to for an officiant. He's great and I cannot say enough nice things about him!

Jim was amazing -- he called me as soon as I made an inquiry and also assisted in helping me and my fiancé with our vows (he sent some samples, ideas). We had a small, "just us" ceremony, which will be followed by an actual wedding (for all friends and family) next year, on our one-year anniversary. Jim wrote a beautiful service for us, even though this was just the "small" wedding. He also had a lovely certificate printed (much better than the one from the courthouse!) and provided a copy of the ceremony. We will probably use him again next year, for the "big" wedding.

My husband and I were extremely pleased with Jim Burch and his services. Having only 3 months to plan the wedding, we had no idea how long it would take to find an Officiant. Jim was one of the first people to respond to our email and we immediately set up a meeting to discuss our wedding. Jim was very personable and we really enjoyed talking to him. So thankful throughout the whole process

We are very thankful for having Jim be a part of one of our most special days. The ceremony was short and sweat, which is what we wanted, but had great impact and meaning. For people who are not members of a church, but still want a spiritual officiant to conduct your marriage ceremony as opposed to a civil servant, you can't find a better choice that Rev. Jim Burch! My bride and I searched through many resources and considered quite a few possibilities before finding Jim's website: http://www.weddingceremony.org/ On the site is a very informative video, which gives you a flavor for Jim's personality as well as what he will provide.

We contacted Jim and met with him personally at his home to discuss what we were looking for and what his services entailed. Both my wife and I felt very comfortable with his all-inclusive style and openness to our thoughts and desires. At that first meeting he gave us a Liturgical Planning Guide, which was very helpful in collecting our thoughts and staging the perfect ceremony. Once you go through exactly how you want things to unfold, Jim will schedule a rehearsal after you get your marriage license and then produce a wonderful document that will be the basis of your ceremony. Once the ceremony is over, you will receive the document as a lovely remembrance of the day!

On our wedding day, Jim was extremely helpful in guiding the service and giving us our cues. Things flowed beautifully and we were both delighted with how warm and welcoming Jim was to us and our guests. I received lots of feedback from my family and friends at how touched they were by Jim's words about love and how we are a direct expression and embodiment of love. His words, the sacredness of the day, and the delight in my bride's eyes will always be in my heart and carry me forward.

Rev. Jim Burch was perfect for us! We had dreamed of an outdoor wedding but still wanted to be able to incorporate our faith into the ceremony. He helped us to tailor the ceremony to fit us perfectly. Jim had so many wonderful suggestions and options that it made choosing every important little detail easy and stress free. We were so comfortable meeting with him prior to our wedding day that we had no worries about how the ceremony would go. My husband and I, as well as our family and friends, were truly touched by the words that Jim spoke about us and love. Beautiful Ceremony!

Jim did a wonderful job with our interfaith ceremony. He spoke beautifully in a way that recognized both of our religions and it brought our family together. After the wedding, several of our family and friends brought up the ceremony to say how much they liked Jim's speech.

Jim is also an extremely experienced professional when it comes to managing the ceremony itself. With all of his experience, Jim can give useful practical guidance on how to organize the ceremony and prevent any stumbles. (For example, he walked us through how to seat our parents so that my father-in-law wouldn't step on my wife's dress after walking her down the aisle.) Coordinating small things like that may seem immaterial, but it took away any anxiety during the day. During our ceremony, he subtly guided us, and made sure we looked good. We're so glad we chose him to be our officiant.

Jim has such a warm, welcoming, and encompassing outlook on love and religion which made him just perfect for our ceremony. My husbands family is very Catholic, and my family is a mixture of Protestants and even atheists or agnostics, and everyone loved ceremony and felt very included. Jim was such a joy to work with!! From our first meeting Christina (Bride) and I (Groom) knew we found the perfect Officiant. He made it very easy for us to customize our ceremony by providing us with multiple selections to choose from. For one of our selections, we were even able to include Christina's son (my stepson) - it was such a unique and special part of the ceremony! Jim also did a wonderful job in addressing our request for an interfaith wedding (Roman Catholic and Jewish). He kept the ceremony spiritual without making it overly religious - I was even able to "break the glass" at the end of the ceremony :). If you are looking for an experienced Officiant who is also very receptive to the needs of his clients, Jim is the right person for you! Christina and I are overjoyed with how well everything went and would highly recommend Jim to any future wedding couple!!

We are so thrilled we choose Jim Burch to perform our ceremony! He came highly recommended by our venue and our photographer and honestly I'm so happy we took their recommendation! It was such a pleasure to work with Jim! From our initial interview, we were hooked. He was nice and responsive to everything we had envisioned for our ceremony AND he made it happen! Jim was a wonderful officiant, and we were very fortunate that he had availability for our date on relatively short notice! My husband and I had a dual wedding of sorts, with an Indian ceremony followed by a Christian ceremony, the latter of which Jim officiated. From our first meeting onward, he was warm, welcoming, and put us both at ease---given the amount of other wedding related stress we were under, it was a breath of fresh air. I liked that we were able to customize the ceremony template to include several readings, and Jim was kind enough to include a prayer that I requested. On our wedding day, he was a beacon of calm and optimism, and we both knew we were in great hands. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, and truly embodied the love we felt for each other. Guests of all different faiths mentioned how much they enjoyed the sermon and really felt included, which was a wonderful thing for our family and friends.

Jim played such a huge role in making our wedding as special and memorable as it was. We can't recommend him highly enough!

Perfection!

We planned our Wedding from CT with no idea how or where to have the Wedding. We only knew that we wanted to get married with our toes in the sand!

I found Jim Burch online and was impressed by his reviews. After a short FACETIME call with Jim, I knew he was the one! Jim not only explained the process in a way that erased any anxiety I had, he helped guide me through the steps and steered us in the perfect direction from the Resort to stay, the place to hold the wedding, and our quaint reception afterward. Everything was perfect.

Jim has the unique ability to create your ceremony uniquely for YOU! After our conversations he learned enough about us to make our ceremony personal, everyone in attendance was so appreciative of how he tailored everything exclusive to us and our family. I am so happy he made our Wedding such a beautiful, memorable experience.

Jim has alot of experience with ceremonies and had nice ideas and readings that made for a very meaningful ceremony. I've been to friends weddings where the officiant really took center stage and neglected the important things and I felt like Jim focused on what should be in a wedding ceremony. I liked how he worked with us on the wedding "script" and was very well organized.

A Beautiful Day

Jim was such an amazing addition to our day. From the beginning, at booking, reading all of his glowing reviews from other couples is what really made us make the jump to hire him. I had grown up religious and my husband was not so he was that perfect blend for us. Every conversation with him leading up until the day was so joyous and love filled. After the ceremony, guests were coming up to me saying how beautiful the ceremony was and how incredible our officiant was. Throughout the ceremony he would give us simple cues so that we know what to do and when which helped us just be present in the day. The whole ceremony was beautiful and flawless. Thank you Jim, for an amazing day.

My husband & I called Jim with an unusual request. We wanted an intimate ceremony on top of Stony Man Mountain (located on Skyline Drive in the Shenandoah National Park). Jim said he was willing to hike up with us for our marriage ceremony. He not only agreed to our request, but he even wore a suit for the occasion!!!

Jim was present at our agreed to meeting spot prior to our arrival. It was a 30 minute hike to the lookout on Stony Man Mountain and much colder than we had anticipated (snow on the ground and icicles on the trees). Jim led us through a beautifully worded and inspiring ceremony at an elevation of 4000 feet. At this height in elevation, the temperature was 9 degrees with a 20 to 25 mile per hour gusting winds.

With the wind nearly blowing our gloves, vows & wedding bands off the mountain, Jim led us solemnly through our very special moment together. Our hands nearly froze and our recording camera even toppled over, but through all of this Jim stood strong and never wavered. He added special quotes from Carl Sandburg that he'd handpicked, describing the importance of love, togetherness and our enduring union as a couple.

Jim was sensitive to my husband's and my different spiritual sensibilities & he created a loving ceremony that made us both very happy!

We are extremely grateful to Jim for making this ceremony possible & doing it with the utmost grace.

Jim is a true professional that orchestrates an amazing ceremony. We heard about Jim from a friend who is a wedding photographer. My friend told me, "Jim is the best". Jim was extremely helpful during the planning of our ceremony. Initially, we didn't have any ideas of what we wanted to do....Jim provided us many different options and emphasized that this was our day, and ultimately we should do what we want. We decided we wanted to use sand instead of a unity candle and Jim helped us incorporate it into our ceremony. He was willing to drive out to The Plains for the ceremony. He listened to our concerns and wishes and helped us put together the perfect ceremony. Our wedding day was perfect!

Jim officiated our wedding this past weekend and he was absolutely fantastic!! My wife and I could not have asked for a more professional, attentive, or flexible officiant.

Jim did a great job of tailoring the ceremony to exactly what we were looking for. He made us feel at ease during the ceremony as well by reading us our vows and lines to make sure that we wouldn't forget anything.

Rev. Jim Burch officiated our wedding and it was nothing less than incredible. His ceremony is not overly religious but yet enough to truly feel your wedding is blessed by God and all that is good. We felt the warmth and love generated in the room because of what he was saying. Everyone present hung on to every word he said--and it made sense!--a true difference from so many wedding ceremonies we all attend. He talked of the MEANING of love and the PURPOSE of it--something that is not often covered, or at least understandbly communicated, in many weddings. I met Jim prior to deciding on him and I knew right away that he was the right person for the role--the one who really plays the biggest role in your wedding if you think about it (it wouldn't happen without him!). We made the right choice. I HIGHLY recommend Jim to anyone who wants a memorable wedding-he is the best.

My husband and I were so happy with the way our ceremony turned out, and it had so much to do with Rev. Jim Burch. We were so excited after meeting with Jim the first time, and relieved to find an officiant that we knew would be a good fit for us. He is so genuine and really loves what he does. He allowed us to have a religious ceremony that was still personal to us. We really appreciated that we were able to guide the way we wanted the ceremony to go. Even though Jim does not attend the rehearsal, which we were a little worried about, it was - as he assured us! - not necessary, and we were very confident the day of the wedding because Jim has performed so many wedding ceremonies. We got several compliments on the ceremony, which was a pleasant surprise.

I went to a ceremony 8 years ago that Jim officiated and knew if I ever got married I would want Jim to officiate. As soon as I got engaged in December 2010 I called up my friends who Jim married and got his information.

My (now)husband and I met with Jim and I was pleased to find he was as welcoming, wise, witty and calm as he had seemed during the ceremony he had officiated many years ago. Jim gave us time to review our options and to contact him if we decided to go with him. My normally cautious husband was ready to jump in that day with Jim just based on a few minutes together.

Jim was responsive, professional and had an oracle like quality of predicting what we might need to do and things to watch out for. I could not have asked for a better presence along our engagement journey. I cannot even begin to tell you how many friends and family came up to me throughout the reception and in the past few weeks to tell me how much they enjoyed Jim and the ceremony he performed. His ceremony set the tone for the rest of the wedding day and that tone was top-notch, spiritual and sincere.

I give Jim my highest recommendation and have already forwarded his information to all of my friends and family, per their request.

Great ceremony with Jim!

Like many weddings, our ceremony--set to be this spring--was postponed until last week. I appreciated Jim's responsiveness and commitment to professionalism; he always replied to my emails or phone calls quickly, and he was very adaptable. I also loved how my (new) husband and I were able to customize our ceremony so that it fit exactly what we were looking for. The ceremony itself was great--Jim is an interesting speaker and very well organized. He had a binder with every reading and vow printed out so that everything went off without a hitch. I really appreciated getting the chance to work with Jim and to give our ceremony that sacred spiritual flavor that made it so meaningful.

Jim was one of the highlights of our wedding. Several people told us they loved the ceremony. Jim did a great job of blending religious and spiritual concepts into the service. Jim was such a pleasure to work with! He was kind and professional and put me at complete ease from the first time I talked with him. He made meeting with him very convenient-- we actually had all our meetings via FaceTime which helped my fiancé and me save time (so appreciated!) He worked with us to develop our perfect ceremony. As he says, he wants to create ceremonies that "sound like you as a couple." On the day of the wedding, he put my husband and me at ease and guided us through the whole ceremony. His message was appreciated by everyone from the Catholic family members to those who are non-religious. He spoke of love in such an elegant way that really moved everyone there. Great Experience!

In the midst of this COVID 19 pandemonium, Jim agreed to perform our small wedding ceremony, and we couldn't be more appreciative. He knocked it out of the park. My wife and I, our two physical attendees, and our "virtual attendees" were all very impressed by the proceedings. Even upon needing to switch our venue multiple times, Jim had no issue in accommodating us. We look back and are so happy we asked Jim to be our officiant. It was a fantastic decision.

Simplified ceremony design

Jim is a true professional, and he made our ceremony planning process as easy as possible. He's so experienced that he has a couple of ceremony blueprints based on the vibe you're going for, and each blueprint comes with options to tailor the ceremony for each couple. We supplied our own readings and used one of the vow options Jim provided, despite our initial desire to write our own. We had a beautiful ceremony and it was exactly what we hoped it would be.

My wife and I are from different religious backgrounds- we are Jewish and Catholic respectively. This presented something of a quandary for a ceremony as there is quite a gap to bridge there! Thankfully, we found Jim. Jim has a very broad view of God (one that even as an agnostic I find difficult to argue with) and is accordingly able to create a ceremony from a very flexible template that will allow people of all backgrounds tol feel at home.

Jim is without doubt a consummate professional. He knows how to manage the rhythm of the ceremony so that it feels neither too brief nor too long. He will walk you through the ceremony with minimal preparation and leave you nothing to worry about when it comes to this component of your wedding (isn't there enough to be concerned about already?). My wife and I highly recommend Jim's services.

My husband and I met with Jim at his home and immediately upon meeting him felt at ease & comfortable. Jim took the time to get to know us each as individuals and as a couple. He asked questions about personal and professional lives and the story of how we met. He asked about family dynamics and spirituality. From all of this information he was able to suggest some options that were best suited for us during our ceremony. Any choices we had to make were made extremely simple as Jim has a template that he gives you and you can check off what you want or absolutely do not want during your ceremony. We totally trusted Jim and he put on a beautiful ceremony that did not deviate from our original plan in the slightest. He was professional, punctual, funny and easy-going. Jim was absolutely amazing as an officiant. The ceremony was perfect. Jim made sure that he included all the readings that my husband and I wanted while also incorporating some of his own thoughts about love in the ceremony. His words were beautiful and moved many of our guests to tears. I almost cried myself while listening to him talk about the beauty of love and marriage. Jim is undoubtedly a gifted orator, and had everyone entranced with his flawless delivery and touching words. Jim's presence provides an aura of confidence, care and inspiration that really added some great levity to the ceremony.

In addition to the beautiful ceremony, Jim was extremely pleasant to work with. We got to know him a few times and we felt he really cared about us and what we wanted in our ceremony. Jim made us feel very comfortable about this big moment, which made us much less nervous at the ceremony itself. Jim went above and beyond to ensure that our ceremony was cohesive, interesting and moving, making it an overall perfect wedding ceremony.

I am forever thankful to Jim for creating such a beautiful, touching and thoughtful ceremony. All my guests said great things about him, and I wouldn't imagine my wedding with any other officiant.

Jim promised and delivered a wonderful ceremony for my daughter and her husband. His sensitive and thoughtful words were especially appreciated by all of us, especially as this was a culturally blended union. Jim hit all the right notes. We would recommend Jim without hesitation.

Jim Burch was very helpful in planning our wedding ceremony. He had an organized plan with choices for readings, vows, pledges of support and a program to work from. He made everyone comfortable during the ceremony guiding us and the readers as needed. His welcome talk and homily were moving, uplifting and instructive. We liked how he involved the guests in the ceremony by taking part in the nuptial blessing. Jim allows for many choices in the planning of the ceremony so he appeals to a broad spectrum of individual needs. Guests commented on what a lovely ceremony it was. Thank you Jim.

I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Reverend Jim. He was very personable and kind and even invited us to his home for an informal meeting to get to know us prior to performing the ceremony. He provides a variety of sample readings and formats so that each wedding he performs is uniquely tailored to the tastes of the bride and groom. Reverend Jim was patient and gave a detailed description of how the ceremony would be performed so that there were no surprises or uncomfortable moments. It quickly became clear to us that he genuinely enjoys performing wedding ceremonies and is sure to give each couple the same attention he gave us.

My husband and I really didn't know where to begin when looking for an officiant. We found a few that seemed good, and then we stumbled across Jim. I looked over his website and the amazing things people had to say about him made it hard for us to continue our search anywhere else. And let me tell you- these people were not lying! We truly can't thank him enough for how beautiful the ceremony turned out. It was clear to us and all of our guests that he put a lot of time in energy making sure the ceremony perfectly fit us. Before the ceremony I was extremely nervous to get up in front of everyone. Knowing this, Jim found me right beforehand to make sure I was doing okay and calm my nerves- he really goes the extra mile to make everyone feel warm and comforted. We couldn't have made a better decision for an officiant and I would recommend Jim 10 times out of 10.

Jim officiated my wedding on short notice, was very instrumental in assisting us with finding a location in an area that we were not familiar with, and was patient enough to answer all of our questions. He helped makes our special day even more special.

Beautiful Christian-style wedding ceremony!

We couldn’t have asked for a better officiant for our wedding than Jim. After coming to the disappointing realization that we could not be married in the Catholic Church due to living together, I was on a quest to find an officiant who would perform a Christian-style ceremony. Aside from wanting a spiritual ceremony, my now-husband and I wanted someone we felt like we clicked with and that understood us as a couple. Meeting with Jim the first time set any concerns we had with a stranger marrying us at ease, and within five minutes of leaving the meeting we both agreed he was the one! Jim is a wonderful and detail-oriented individual who is easy to communicate with and very helpful in creating your perfect ceremony. I highly recommend Jim for any couple looking for a caring and responsive officiant who takes the worry out of your day, letting you focus on what is most important – you and your future spouse!

Jim was incredible. We are so hapy we choose him to officiant our ceremony He was SO helpful, so CALM and overall did an amazing job, Everyone commented on how sweet he was and we couldnt agree more! he incorporated some special touches we wanted, he made the ceremony run smoothly, he spoke well to the guests, he didn't bore the crowd at ALL and he is a very genuine soul! So so happy with how it turned out!

I know it sounds cheesy, but Jim's words during the ceremony really made the love shine through :) You can tell he really cares about what he does, honestly and deeply, and he helps you make sure you have a ceremony that matches you and your partner's desires. He was incredibly flexible and open throughout the whole process, and made our roles during the ceremony easy and simple for us to understand. Our families also appreciated his sincere messages of love; I and my family are religious while my (now) husband and his family are staunch atheists, but he was still able to inspire such powerful feelings of love that both our families could appreciate and enjoy.

If you have any concerns about choosing Jim to officiate your wedding, let me tell you, you don't have anything to worry about! He's a great, easy-going guy with a sweet sense of humor and I'm glad I came across him!

Rev. Jim did a great job on our wedding; from the very beginning, he put us at ease and answered all of our (many) questions to our satisfaction. Jim's ceremony was unique - not entirely religious, not entirely secular - but all of our friends and relatives thought the ceremony was speaking precisely to their beliefs. Many of our guests commented afterward on how unique and special the ceremony was. After the ceremony, all the paperwork was returned to the county court very promptly. We would highly recommend Rev. Jim to any couple looking to get married in the DC Metro area.

Jim was a phenomenal officiant: professional, courteous, responsive, humorous and above all extremely easy to work with. We were looking for a service that was pro forma but also not overtly religious - Jim delivered that in spades. When he had sound difficulty due to AV issues, he handled it like a total pro and smoothly continued his remarks as if nothing was happening. As the sound issues were being resolved with different mics/etc., he deftly moved from one mic to the next as if the whole issue simply wasn't happening.

But beyond his ability to be cool under pressure, he's a very humorous guy who was able to preach a universal understanding of love and God while being light-hearted and touching. His remarks moved many of our attendees while our ceremony was also filled with mirth and merriment.

Jim comes with our highest recommendation - he is organized, helps you through the process and ultimately delivers a fantastic benediction to your big day. He certainly made ours special, and I hope he gets the chances to make yours special too.

Jim was great! I'm catholic and my husband is Jewish, and although neither of us is religious, we wanted to incorporate some religion/spirituality into our ceremony for ourselves, our families, and especially our grandparents. Jim managed to create a ceremony that simultaneously appealed to our Catholic and Jewish families, while also not feeling dogmatic or stuffy, which is something we felt strongly about. Also, it was a really hot day, and Jim was really good about keeping the ceremony short so everyone could get out of the sun as quickly as possible. I would recommend Jim very highly to anyone, he was responsive, helpful, friendly, and professional throughout.

Jim was an absolute blessing - the way he conducted the ceremony and got everyone in attendance involved was magical. Jim spoke to everyone's beliefs and definitely pulled on my heartstrings with his homily on love! He was thorough from start to finish regarding planning the sequence of events for the ceremony and executing it to perfection.

Beautiful Ceremony!

Jim did a wonderful job helping my groom and us customize a ceremony that captured our love story. Our family and friends really enjoyed the day, and we had such a good experience working with Jim. It's hard to find a good balance of spiritual and personal, and as my husband and I don't subscribe to a specific religion, so we didn't want it to be too by the book. Jim did a wonderful job and was a great help to us, and I would definitely recommend him to another couple!

My Husband and I found Jim online based off his wedding reviews and are very happy he officiated our perfect wedding! He is very flexible to work with and straightforward which made making wedding ceremony decisions a quick and confident process. We especially love how Jim was able to incorporate all the unique and special details we requested and still have an unforgettable and less than 30 minute ceremony, of which our guests could not stop commenting on how amazing Jim was. One of the most important decisions for our wedding was to decide who would deliver our message to the attendees via the "Officiant". After interviews with many potential candidates, we chose Jim Burch to be our messenger. Jim delivered as if scripted and delivered by us. He added enough personal touches to our global message of love that was universally enjoyed by all that attended. The number one compliment we received about our wedding was Jim's message. He was flawless in his delivery and it was so touchingly personal not only for us, but for everyone. Jim also made the process stress free. We had so many other things to attend to, and he just took the burden of the ceremony off our plates.
