Great experience getting my dress here

So happy with my dress from Wedding Atelier NYC! At the time of trying on dresses, my consultant Aggie made me feel SO comfortable. While there was not much "fanfare" upon saying yes to the dress, I was not really looking for that to begin with. The pricing at Wedding Atelier was extremely reasonable, especially for NYC. My seamstress, May, did an amazing job at all of my fittings. She even sewed in secret straps in my strapless dress, which came in handy for dancing later in the night! I had a great experience with Wedding Atelier - everyone was professional, and I felt so comfortable in my dress on my wedding day.

I found my dream dress at Wedding Atelier!

My experience at Wedding Atelier stood out from the rest of my wedding dress appointments - it was quiet, not rushed, and felt extremely personalized to me. Alisa was incredible - she listened to what I was looking for and knew exactly what to have me try on to help me find the one. She was so personable and made the experience perfect. Great experience!

Had an amazing experience with Aggie, Mei, and rest of the team. Couldn’t believe I found a unique dress that I loved in great condition and close to my size at their outlet. The selection was top notch compared to the 6+ other sample sales and bridal shops I went to. The boutique is clean and bright and service is wonderful as well. Highly recommend!!

LOVED my experience at Wedding Atelier

I got married earlier this month and purchased my Suzanne Neville dress from Wedding Atelier last September. I was absolutely thrilled with every step of my experience. I went to New York to go to another wedding dress store (the TLC one, ugh) and went to Wedding Atelier just because I was in town. I had such an incredible experience. I worked with Chloe, who really listened to my style preferences and pulled several dresses I would have purchased. She handed me the one I ended up buying, and said she thought it would be perfect. When I put it on, I got the chills and my mother cried. I still didn't buy it on the spot -- I wanted to think it over for the night -- and Chloe wasn't pushy at all. In the end, I was obsessed with my dress and never got over it. The alterations process was professional and easy, and they made accommodations to get my final changes done in a day since I was traveling in from out of town. I was so thrilled with my experience and would highly recommend the Atelier to any and every bride.

The best place to buy a wedding dress in New York!

Love love LOVE Wedding Atelier! I worked with Chloe, and from the first appointment with me, she knew exactly what I needed: someone who didn't want to just sell me a dress, but who wanted me to fall in love with my dress. She was totally 100% honest about everything I tried on. At most of the salons I went to, I felt like I was just another potential transaction. Not with Chloe! She's truly wonderful and choosing my Suzanne Neville gown was by far the easiest decision I made. And the whole staff at Wedding Atelier is just as wonderful: I probably spent a total of 5 minutes with Ruth, a manager, for measurements, but I looked forward to every appointment when I could say hi and chat. Not to mention that the gowns are all absolutely gorgeous and there's something for every style. I found my perfect gown that's perfectly me. I could not recommend Wedding Atelier and its lovely staff enough!

Wonderful Bridal Salon

Wedding Atelier was one of the salons I visited on my search for my wedding dress. All the staff at the salon were attentive and so genuinely nice. Chloe was my consultant, and she was amazing! Not only was she kind, personable, funny and accommodating, she was so patient with me. She listened to me carefully and I did not feel pressured at all to purchase a dress during my first consultation. I was debating between two dresses, one that I tried on at another salon and one at Wedding Atelier. I took some time to think about this and eventually, I choose the one at Wedding Atelier. It has been two weeks since our wedding and I still dream about how beautiful and perfect the dress was for me. It fit like a glove thanks to their expert seamstress, May, and I couldn't be happier with the decision I made. It was a pleasure working with Wedding Atelier. My sister is getting married soon and she also found her wedding dress there. I cannot wait to see her in it!

Kleinfeld Who?

You will forget all about that salon on TLC when you visit Wedding Atelier. I worked with Yvonne and of all the bridal salons I visited, she was the only person who slowed down the process and made me feel comfortable selecting my gown. Everywhere else I felt rushed and pressured to make a decision, but Yvonne asked all the right questions and was fun to spend time with! I am obsessed with the Martina Liana gown I chose and can't wait to wear it next year for my rescheduled big wedding! Thank you Yvonne!

Best Bridal Salon in NYC

Wedding Atelier is the best bridal salon in NYC. When I arrived it felt exactly like what shopping for a wedding dress should feel like. The space is beautiful and intimate, and therefore never overcrowded. When I arrived my stylist Daisy met me and listened to what I wanted in a dress and quickly gathered a dozen gorgeous gowns. The real magic came from the store manager, Ruth, who in passing overheard me say the word "whimsical" when referring to our upcoming mountaintop wedding. She brought over a gorgeous Lazaro dress that was not my initial sought out style, but after trying it on it became the gown I chose! It was truly the perfect gown and I wouldn't have even known to consider it if it hadn't been for the attention to detail that Wedding Atelier offers to each of their clients. Between Ruth, Daisy, and my seamstress, Nordia, the process of finding my perfect wedding gown was a dream come true. If you are a bride to be, make and appointment at Wedding Atelier and you will not be disappointed!

The best!!!

Where do I begin. I was told about this hidden gem by one of my friends who recently got married. My experience here was like no other when I was searching to find my wedding dress. each staff member on the phone was helpful and nice each time I called. Lisa made sure everything was perfect with my dress. Zuly, my seamstress provided a work of art with finishing touches on my beautiful Martina Liana dress. She sat on the floor and cut around the hem of my dress so meticulously to assure the correct length. Thank you wedding atelier for having such a beautiful dress and making my experience so personal!

An Amazing Gem!

I made an appointment and was paired with Alyson as my consultant. I had just left Kleinfeld Bridal and didn't think that I would find my dream dress at all that day. Alyson gave me a different experience and styled me based off of a few (literally 3 questions) of what I was looking for. I didn't even show her pictures and before I knew it she was ready for me to start trying on dresses. Lo and behold the very 1st dress she put me in had me, my sister, and my mom in tears! To say that she was amazing is an understatement! She was very attentive, warm, and super sweet. I continued to try on dresses but nothing compared. I just found out she left the boutique shortly after my experience but the store manager Carrie gave me a personal call and paired me with my new consultant Daisy and she's been just as sweet and helpful. Thank you to the team of Wedding Atelier for helping me find my dream dress :-)

What All Wedding Dress Shops Should Be

This place is a godsend for wedding dress shopping. It's has a wide selection of dresses, it’s clean, customer service is impeccable and responsiveness to questions is great. I worked with a variety of people including Daisy, Ruth, to the store manager who ultimately sold me my beautiful Pronovias dress and of course May. Unlike other stores where you are just a number in their books and they rush you in and out, Wedding Atelier just wants you to be happy. I have pushed all my friends to go there and you should too!

Loved working with Wedding Atelier!

I had a great experience working with Wedding Atelier. They have a beautiful space (no raggedy, overworn dresses) with a great selection, including lesser-known names. I got my Birenzweig bridal gown there, and learned that Birenzweig apparently is only available in a few other salons across the country. I had a great time working with Daisy and Lisa, who both made me feel like family. My favorite thing about them is that they are not pushy! Not worried about making the sale -- they let you think and if you're not feeling it you just move on. I felt like I could trust them, which is so important when you're making such a big purchase.

I would just recommend that they update their booking system -- I sometimes had trouble making appointments online.

Love love love!

I can not say enough amazing things about Wedding Atelier. Everyone from the staff behind the desk to the sales manager are helpful, kind, and just make you feel amazing. From the moment I walked into the shop I knew these were the people I wanted to work with for my dress. My consultant, Daisy, listened to what I wanted but also made recommendations out of my comfort zone for my body type. I loved my dress and am so thankful for the Wedding Atelier.

I have to start off by saying that I will recommend Wedding Atelier to all my bride friends. Forever. I had such a wonderful experience with Alyson. She was the nicest, sweetest, most down to earth wedding consultant in the industry. She immediately understood my vision, and pulled dresses I would have never imagined trying on; but all looked phenomenal on me. She studied my body, and the way I carried myself, and went from there. Most importantly, she was not pushy at all!!! She told me at the beginning that she was here to help me and style me. I ended up loving all the dresses she put me in. My family and I couldn't decide between 3 dresses.

Full disclosure: I had tracked down a brand new Pronovias dress that only Kleinfeld's carried. It was from their newest collection, and the Pronovias flagship store in NYC didn't even have it in stock yet. I was dying to try that dress one! I ultimately ended up choosing that dress, but I really wish I had given Alyson the sale. She was that amazing. Had the Pronovias Kleinfeld's dress not worked out, I definitely would have gone back to Alyson and bought one of my top 3 choices.

For anyone looking for an amazing bridal consultant, please please please do yourself a favor and check out Alyson at Wedding Atelier. You won't regret it.

I went to this boutique and my consultant was so nice to me. Be prepared to wait at least 6 months for a custom dress. I didn't have that time so didn't buy from them but they still kindly gave me alternate suggestions and tips that helped me complete my wedding dress shopping the next day. That was excellent service that they still fully assisted me despite knowing I would not become a paying customer. On top of that, I was half an hour late for my appointment and received not a single hint of attitude. This is a top notch boutique. Thanks ladies!

My wife found Wedding Atelier after 3 failed visits (with one cry) to other wedding salons on Long Island and finding on the internet what she thought was the "The Dress." When she arrived at the Salon, she was impressed at the selection of dresses and the professionalism of the staff. This is the ony Salon she went to that requires you to remove your shoes so that everything stays clean.

Her stylist was Marnie. Marnie has many years of experience in the wedding industry and it shows. She put on what she had previously thought was "The Dress." It could not have been more wrong. That being said, Marnie knew immediately what to do. Marnie explained to my wife to trust her, and then took a few dresses off the racks. With each dress my wife tried on, Marnie was able to get a better feel of her style and what she was looking for. Not long after, she found exactly what she was looking for.

The staff at Wedding Atelier was extremely professional. They were not pushy, did not rush you, and only put you in dresses within your budget. The fitting process was just as seamless. The seamstresses really saw and corrected down to the smallest and slightest details. My wife also bought her wedding accessories (earrings, veil, and hairpiece) at Wedding Atelier. Additionally, she also brought her dress back there for dry cleaning and preservation services.

By far, out of the many places my wife tried, the best, most elegant, and professional establishment. We highly recommend it. She looked absolutely stunning.

Best experience! I went to Wedding Atelier for my wedding gown after visiting 4 other bridal shops in NYC. I have nothing bad to say about the other shops, only that from the moment I stepped into Wedding Atelier, I knew I was in the right place. My consultant was Daisy, who was such a pleasure to work with. She listened to me and knew the right dresses in this beautifully edited collection to show me. After having tried on approximately 15 dresses at other stores, I was beginning to feel overwhelmed and thought I would never find "the one." That all changed in the first few minutes I spent with Daisy. Not only did I find "the one" almost immediately, I had two other amazing options. In addition to Daisy, I have to express my thanks to Kelly, who helped me with my veil, Lisa, the Sales Manager, Ruth, the Operations Manager and Carrie, the owner/buyer. Together, they create such a professional and friendly team. Mae, the seamstress, was also amazing and worked her magic to make my dress fit to perfection. When I wore it on my wedding day, I truly felt like a princess bride. From start to finish, thank you all for making this such an amazing experience and making me feel so special.

I don't even know where to begin with this review! Wedding Atelier was the absolute perfect place to purchase my beautiful wedding gown. My two cousins highly recommended Wedding Atelier - and after checking out a few other places around the city, it was easy to see what they meant! My mom and I were immediately impressed with the cleanliness. Since everyone is asked to wear slippers, the gowns you try on are in beautiful condition and it's much easier to picture yourself wearing it on your wedding day. Daisy helped me find my perfect dress and did an AMAZING job deciphering my pros/cons of other dresses to pick "the one". I greatly appreciated her honesty and encouragement throughout the process - she ensured that I tried a little bit of everything so that I was absolutely positive when I put on the right one. I also loved that Daisy never pressured me into buying - she was more concerned with making sure I was happy instead of just trying to make a sale which was so incredibly kind. The alterations process was also fabulous. It took three visits to tweak my dress but I always felt like I had undivided attention during the process.

I would absolutely 100000% recommend a visit to Wedding Atelier. I promise you will not regret it and you will love the experience!

Dress shopping can be such a dramatic experience, even for a low-key bride. You need a good team to shuttle you through the process, from shopping to alterations. I went to a few popular salons early on--Kleinfelds, Lovely Bride--but Wedding Atelier hit the sweet spot. Upscale, but not stuffy. Roomy, but not overwhelmingly large. It looks like a wedding salon from the pages of AD.

Service was fantastic from the start. Once you deal with enough vendors, you realize the importance of professionalism. Wedding Atelier delivered in spades. Daisy and Lisa took care of me start to finish. From dress shopping to accessorizing and alterations. The team did everything in their power to solve problems quickly and deliver the perfect dress on the big day. I highly recommend them. Thank you Daisy!

5 stars does not do justice for the incredibly amazing experience I had at Wedding Atelier. From start to finish I had the most comfortable, fun, and special experience finding my dress at this bridal shop. Lisa (store manager) and Allison (consultant) were absolutely fabulous! So down to earth, knowledgeable, kind, and patient with me. They made this experience feel so easy and stress free (no pressuring!). They assisted me with finding the PERFECT dress of my dreams through customization - a one of a kind! By the end of the consultation I felt as if I had know them for years. I feel so lucky that I came across Wedding Atelier. This beautiful bridal salon is a MUST! It was the perfect place for me to say YES TO THE DRESS!

I walked into Wedding Atelier excited to try on a dress I had been obsessing over for about a year. The sales stylist I had the absolute PLEASURE to work with was Daisy. Daisy was incredible and truly the most patient woman I have met. The dress I had obsessed over ended up not being "the" dress. However, Daisy made me feel so comfortable and relaxed, that when I tried on a dress I otherwise would not have looked at, I fell in love. She allowed silence during the try on to let the moment sink in...and to let the dress "speak to me". Which it definitely did because we bought it! Thanks to Daisy I felt beyond ecstatic about the dress shopping experience. It was like being with family. The sales team as a whole was wonderful, and made me feel like the only bride to be in the showroom. I cannot stop raving about them to my friends and family. Thanks again Wedding Atelier and Daisy!

Of the several wedding stores we visited this store gets a Solid 10 for everything. Their dress selection and quality was amazing. Kelly who helped us was spot on and the Store Sales Manager Lisa was not only knowledgeable and helpful with the decision making, pricing, etc. Kelly ACTUALLY cried when my daughter picked from her top three choices and said Yes to the dress!! We couldn't have had a better experience if we dreamed it!! Thank you to Kelly and Lisa for all your extra care and time and for making this moment so special.

Kirsten at Wedding Atelier picked out my wedding dress. No really. She pulled dresses based on what I told her I wanted, and then grabbed one without showing me and said "I want you to try this". And it ended up being the one. She was a joy to work with, and my friends who came along agreed she was the best! One thing to consider- we went on a Tuesday and basically had the place to ourselves, which was so much fun. I went back in Saturday to pay my deposit, and it was much more crowded. If you swing a weekday, it probably makes for a better experience.

This was the best experience overall. After going to so many places and tries on 20+ gowns, I ended up customizing a trunk show dress. I bought a lace dresses and designed the bead work directly with Carrie. We became great friends through the process. She was so patient with me and made me feel like I was their only customer the whole time. We picked the beads, and they went to work. After weeks of hand sewing all of the imported beads, I was so impressed when I saw my dress for the first time! I couldn't believe my eyes. It was the most beautiful transformation, beyond my wildest dreams. It was my perfect dress. I was so happy. The when it came to alternations, (I was very nervous bc I have a large chest) so didn't want them spilling out. After the usual amount of fittings, my dresses fit me like a glove. Like unbelievably perfect. Best experience.

My friends and family all commented in how much they loved my dress and how well it fit me. I saw the pics and it really looks amazing. My veil was also custom and came out beautiful. I'm excited to lend it to my cousin now. Thank you Carrie. Xox

Hello. My name is Tina. I was married this past October 9th, 2016 and I can honestly say that one of the best decisions I made was getting my dress from Wedding Atelier. As a bride in my later 30s, I like to say that I am a bit particular, and would not settle. After going to all of the top boutiques both large and small in NYC, and trying over 30s dresses, I realized I needed to find a better solution, and that was working with a boutique that would help me tailor make my dress to my liking. It was a little risky, but it was well worth it in the end. I ended up getting a dress from a trunk show, and they allowed me to customize the beading from head to toe, and make the necessary changes to my approval! Carrie the owner, and now my friend, worked with me for weeks on selecting the beading from India, then we created the design together. With a few swatches, I approved the design and they beaded the entire lace dress. I put all my faith in her spectacular team, and when I went back to see it completed I couldn't believe my eyes! It was absolutely beautiful. Not only did the bead work come out perfectly, the alterations were incredible. My dress fit like a glove. I have a very curvy, size 6, DD bra size, so I was super paranoid about alternations. All of my dreams were answered! Carrie, you and your team are top notch and I can't thank you enough. It's Thanksgiving and I said to myself, I am writing the review to Carrie and her team as I am so thankful for the amazing experience I had with your team. I felt like I was the only client the entire time. You guys are the best. Ladies, don't waste your time with any other place, go straight to Carrie and her team. I chose wedding atelier for my bridal gown and I could not have been more happy. I went to other bridal salons in NYC and did not feel good with any of the selection processes. I found a beautiful Liancarlo gown that fit my personal style. The stylist I had on my first meeting was knowledgable about the designer, easy-going, and did not pressure me to make a decision right away. On subsequent meetings, for accessorizing and fittings, everything was well-organized, efficient, and felt very personalized. I absolutely loved this experience. I felt like I was taken care of and that is a special feeling when preparing for your wedding.

The staff at Wedding Atelier made the dress-buying process incredibly easy and seamless, from selection to pick-up. Everyone I encountered was very helpful, kind, honest and professional. They had a great selection of dresses from all different styles and price tiers, all of which were beautiful and well-made. Wedding Atelier has the luxury feel you might expect from a Madison Ave. boutique, but without the off-putting pretention that can sometimes go along with it. It’s definitely worth a visit when looking for your dress.

My experience at Wedding Atelier was nothing short of perfect!! From the moment you walk in you just feel good vibes and are treated like royalty! I worked with Melissa and she had the type of personality that was exactly what I needed. She was fun, honest and most importantly listened!! I had a few different styles in mind with a price point that was very important to stick to. Being a very shy, indecisive person who easily gets overwhelmed she made the process so easy for me. After discussing all important facts she took the lead and brought out such a beautiful selection of dresses. From the very first one I tried I felt like a princess! As we progressed into trying on the other dresses each one got better and better. When we came to THE DRESS it had a little mix of everything I had wanted. When she put the perfect fit of a veil on I just knew this had to be it. Being that there were a still a few more dresses left in the selection she encouraged me to still try them so I can make a comparison. Well nothing could compare! Once back in the beautiful Martina Liana gown I knew it was the dress for me. Melissa made me feel so comfortable as if we have been friends for years so I thank her and Wedding Atelier for making the experience what it should be! I can not wait to slip the dress on once again for my wedding in a year!!

most wedding salons are just concerned with making a sale - this is not the case at Wedding Atelier. The quality and level of service is unparalled (and i went to 6 different stores before purchasing my gorgeous Alyne gown from WA). if youre getting married, make an appt asap with marnie! she is sweet, caring, and a wonderful

I have only wonderful things to say about Wedding Atelier! I ordered my dress in February of 2015 for my wedding this year. I was looking for a particular Pronovias dress that was going to be discontinued in a few weeks so I was under a time crunch. I had called the Pronovias store in Manhattan prior to reaching out to Wedding Atelier and they said they didn't have the dress and couldn't order it even if I wanted it. I contacted Wedding Atelier next and they came to the rescue! They were extremely helpful, squeezing me in and making a last minute appointment for me to meet with a consultant, Hazel. They didn't have the dress I wanted in house but they were able to order it for me right in time!

Every step of the process was so seamless and easy. Hazel was an EXCELLENT consultant. She is a top stylist, and is able to help complete your look so you look your best, but still look like you. My seamstress, May, was also amazing! She was very kind and extremely efficient. My fitting appointments were less than an hour each! And she was able to accommodate me when I decided last minute to have something embroidered in my dress.

The front desk staff is also wonderful, they are responsive to your questions and very flexible if an appointment needs to be changed or cancelled.

I have heard horror stories of weeding dress shops but I have to say dealing with Wedding Atelier was one of the easiest experience I had in my entire wedding planning process. Everything was done for me, and I knew I was in good hands!!! Thank you Hazel and May!

Came here after searching everywhere for a wedding dress. I was wowed by their showroom and service. Stephanie helped me pick out THE dress.
I told her what I wanted and she immediately pulled out not 1 but 3 dresses that I LOVED!! I couldn't believe it!! I couldn't find one dress at the other places I've been to and I had difficulty here! I finally settled on one and I'm SO glad I picked this out. It was a new martina liana.
The whole process was great and hassle-free. I had 3 fittings with May. She made sure everything fit and was perfect. She hemmed and put a corset into the dress. The girls here really try to help you. At the last fitting, I noticed that my glitter shoes were sticking to the inside slip of my dress. They tried hairspray and called a shoerepair place for me. Connie helped me pick out my earrings. Her expertise is impeccable. Everyone is so friendly, sweet and professional here. I would recommend them to ALL the brides out there.

I am extremely satisfied with my choice, I could have not chosen a better atelier. Marnie helped me to choose the perfect dress. Initially I chose some dresses but I immediately followed her advise and tried on two dresses that she suggested..... absolutely perfect both of them! I had a different idea of what I wanted but what she chose was exactly perfect for my body type, my taste and my budget. I chose the first dress she suggested. I live in Miami so they offered the rush fitting service for the alterations. On the Friday I tried the dress and it was really big on me. I went back the day after and the dress was like it was designed on me. The lady ( I apologize I don't recall her name) she was absolutely amazing. In one day she altered the dress and it fit like a glove on me. I received so many compliments for the dress and the veil. She was absolutely amazing, knowledgeable, understanding and patient.
After rush fitting they shipped the gown to Miami. Everybody was always so nice and attentive during my visits and communications.
If you are looking for the perfect experience and the perfect gown, go to Wedding Atelier! If I could give more than 5 starts I certainly would.

I had a wonderful time picking out my dress at Wedding Atelier. I had gone to other places prior to this and felt like I was always pushed, pressured, and felt like the places were like a zoo with so many bridezillas crammed into one place.

I got a recommendation from my husband's friend's wife that she had first tried on her dress and they had actually told her that she could get her dress online for a lot less since her wedding is so far away. After having heard that, I knew this could be my place to find a dress.

I went on a Saturday at 11. It was surprisingly very peaceful and I was one of three brides there trying on dresses. My consultant no longer works there but she was a dream. She made me feel so comfortable and taken care of and I actually tried on five dresses but ended up choosing the first dress that I tried on. It was a beautiful Martina Liana gown with silk petals for the skirt. I generally really liked the quality of the dresses there.

I went back for my three fittings and though my consultant no longer worked there, someone was always there for me to chit chat with since I went alone to my fittings. The consultants all seem really nice.

My experience was really great here! If you are not a bridezilla and if you are willing to pay for quality (this is not David's Bridal), then you can't go wrong at this place.

My experience at Wedding Atelier was nothing short of amazing. Francesa, who helped me throughout, is truly talented, sincere, and exudes professionalism. From my first time walking in, to the selection of my wedding dress and all the fittings to follow, Wedding Atelier provided such a pleasant experience. Bought my dress here from Marnie! I had been to about 5 other shops before Wedding Atelier; Marnie understood exactly what I wanted and was incredibly patient with me. She didn't make me feel like I HAD to buy a dress that day. I also love that they have all their dresses hanging out in the open so you can walk around and peruse.

My Mom couldn't be there with me, so they let me hook up to their WiFi and FaceTime her, so she could help me make the decision. That made all the difference.

Their seamstress, Mae, was SO wonderful! She removed sleeves from the dress; everything fit like a glove and she was so lovely and attentive. The bustle was gorgeous! The staff was super helpful when shipping my dress to CA. I received it in record time and got an email with all tracking info, etc. It was packed so well that I actually didn't need to steam it! Thanks again!

Nothing but 5 stars for Wedding Atelier! Such an amazing/easy experience I had with the entire staff. Holly, my consultant, was super helpful and made me feel so comfortable during the entire appointment. No pressure at all into buying the dress of my dreams! They even matched the price I saw my dream dress in from another store. The first store I saw my dress in, the sample was in horrible shape. But when I saw it at Wedding Atelier, the sample looked like it was in mint condition, a completely different looking dress. The store is spotless and beautified designed. Oh and the seamstresses are phenomenally talented!!! My dress had 23 pick ups in the bustle and I must say looks better bustled than fully let out. Such a talented and professional team all around. I got my dream dress for $2280 (with all alternation costs and taxes) and everyone thought I spent well over 5k. Worth ever penny, especially the experience Wedding Atelier provided.

Jessica.....was the best party of my wedding planning. From the moment I walked into the salon, she treated me like I was her own sister, someone she wanted nothing more for but to look and feel perfect, and she would not give up until I accomplished that look and feeling. She entertained my group of varying women with even different tastes and found THE dress for me on the 3rd try. In addition to making me feel like a princess on one of many special days you have planning and executing your wedding, she was beyond available via email and phone any time i needed her and she helped me obtain a swatch of my dress to make a locket for my mother as a wedding day gift, which was beyond perfect. I love her and I love that store. Forget anywhere else, as a New Yorker from birth, you need to go here and no where else.

Hollie! Although she no longer works there she has left an impression on me that I will never forget. Hollie was the first one to really "Pull me in" to a dress so you can truly imagine what it would look like on you. Her smile and laughter were infectious. I really wanted to invite her to our Wedding because 1. She'd be the life of the party and 2. You knew she was genuinely excited for you. Hollie didn't just want to sell you a dress, she wanted to help you find you dream dress.

Another person I would like to mention is May. May was my seamstress. She treats you like a daughter. I just wanted to hug her all the time. She altered my dress to fit like a glove, it was PERFECT.

I have nothing but great things to say about Jessica from Wedding Atelier and their seamtress May! I spent 2 weekends in NYC and during the 1st weekend, I had an appointment with Jessica, she helped me find the dress of my dreams and a bolero for my special day. The 2nd weekend back a few months later, I had scheduled back-to-back fittings, 3 days in a row with Jessica and May. In the end the dress was just PERFECT and my custom bolero made by May to match my dress made my outfit complete. May packed up my dress so I could even take it home with me after the third appointment! I was so impressed with the service we received at Wedding Atelier and felt so comfortable in Jessica's hands. I can't thank her enough for getting me into my perfect dress! It brought out many tears from many guests the day of our wedding.

I LOVE my wedding gown from Wedding Atelier! I was originally looking for something completely different, but they recommended me trying on Suzanne Neville and it was PERFECT! Francesca was a joy to work with, and May did an amazing job with the fitting. At Wedding Atelier, I really got the attention that I needed; the place is pleasant and not too crowded, and the gowns are well-organized.

I was extremely happy with the service at Wedding Atelier. They really bent over backwards to help me obtain a Melissa Sweet dress that I had my heart set on; then it looked like I couldn't get it anymore because Priscilla of Boston closed down. Their seamstress Mae is amazing - I love her.

I felt like a princess here. Also felt a little like I was on TLC's "say yes to the dress". This was the first boutique I went to and I told my assistant what I envisioned and she brought out MY dress!!! It was the second dress I tried on and all dresses couldn't compare after that. Loved this place. Makes David's Bridal feel like a thrift store. Hehe

It took me all of 45 minutes to find the dress of my dreams! I met with Anna...tried on 2 lace dresses (what I thought I wanted) before she asked me to try something she thought would be PERFECT for me. She was right...so very right! I wore a dress on my wedding day that made me feel like the most beautiful version of myself. My dress was amazing...I wish I could wear it every day!

The best! Give them a range your willing to pay and they will bring out the best dresses for you within your price range. In addition, it was the first place that I visited and had been the best vendor compared to other boutiques in NY. Renay and the seamstress were friendly and professional. Worth the trip from Mia to NY just for my wedding dress.

I originally went to Kleinfeld's to find a dress, but I was so overwhelmed that I ended up buying a dress because the representative helping me said I should, not because I was in love with the dress. I ended up trying Wedding Atelier on a whim and I am so happy I did. The people are wonderful. Everyone was so patient and nice and I didn't feel rushed at all (like I did at Kleinfeld's). It is a smaller salon, but I didn't feel like there was a small selection of dresses. In fact, whereas at Kleinfeld's I didn't fit into any of the dresses I was given to try on (I'm a size 8), I fit into every dress at Wedding Atelier. Jessica was my representative and she was amazing. She knew exactly how the dress should be tailored to look best on me and the seamstress was equally as great. The dresses, veils and jewelry were all really well priced and everyone was very professional and organized. I am so happy I ended up at Wedding Atelier; I highly recommend!

I shopped around A LOT to find the perfect wedding dress and I finally found it at Wedding Atelier! Well, I thought I did on my first visit, put in my order for the dress and then woke up the next morning and realized that it was not my dream dress but everyone at the store was wonderful and very understanding when I called to cancel the order and come in to re-select my gown. My consultant Jenny was amazing but that she no longer works there(I heard she is now at Kleinfelds). Wedding Atelier was also wonderful to work with for my fittings. I live in Philadelphia so they let me schedule my fittings for weekends and late Friday afternoons. I bought all of my accessories; undergarments, veil, headpiece and earrings from Wedding Atelier. They make their accessories in the store so I was able to customize everything exactly the way I wanted it. They were a pleasure to work with!

Renee at Wedding Atelier was one of my favorite people that I worked with during the wedding planning process. When I went into the store for my initial consultation she really listened to what I wanted, asking lots of questions, and brought out dresses that matched what I was looking for. When I tried on a dress I would say "I like this but not this" and she would bring out the next dress based on my feedback on the previous dress. That first day there was one dress that I really liked, but I wasn't quite sold on one particular detail. I ended up having an email back and forth about it with Renee and when I came back a few weeks later based on our conversations she had picked out the PERFECT dress and had it waiting for me.

The dress came in in plenty of time and the alterations were all on schedule - Mae did a great job. I also did an accessories consultation with Renee and the others there and got a gorgeous veil and some earrings from Wedding Atelier.

I was so happy with the dress and very happy with my experience at Wedding Atelier.

The only negative was that my bustle came apart during the reception and my coordinator had to do an emergency sewing job on me - but overall I would recommend Wedding Atelier in a heartbeat.

I worked with Jessica at Wedding Atelier. After visiting 2 other bridal salons in NYC I knew Wedding Atelier was for me. Even though their selection is smaller than some other places, the dress selection is beautiful. Being a smaller shop, the service is 5-star.

Everyone at Wedding Atelier is a delight! From the moment you try on a dress there they make you feel special and valued as a client. My dress was perfect and when I had a last minute bride freak out they took care of me with huge warm smiles. The location itself is beautiful and there selection of gowns is exquisite. You won't find anything of poor quality as I feel Carrie, the manager, has great taste and an appreciation for quality over quantity.

I went ALL OVER the city to try on dresses, and Wedding Atelier was one of my favorite places - while it's not the largest selection out there, it is clean, and they are nice friendly people. I could have gotten my gown (Alvina Valenta) elsewhere (they carry it at Kleinfields, as well) but I wanted to give my business to WA. Alterations were really really thorough and profressional.

I love this little shop. They have a great staff, who were super helpful, and even with the smaller size of the shop, they can get whatever you need. I purchased my veil and hair clip from them. I'm from PA, but no store around had the veil that I wanted, so I went to Wedding Atelier. I walked in, told her what I was looking for, and she walked over and had the sample in the store. It was an easy transaction. We had gone to Kleinfeld's to look too, but compared to Wedding Atelier, Kleinfeld's is a hectic and slightly uncaring place. They didn't care about my order being incorrect, at Wedding Atelier I also had a problem, but the apologized and order the right item and shipped it to me at no cost to me. It was well worth the trip.

Amazing experience!

I had a phenomenal experience working with Alyson at Wedding Atelier. It was my first time trying on wedding dresses and she was able to pinpoint exactly what I wanted in a dress. She made all the right pulls and when I wasn’t ready to make a purchase that day, Alyson didn’t pressure me at all. Her big personality made the appointment fun and enhanced the experience. There is a reason Alyson works at Wedding Atelier; she is extremely good at what she does, and she knows the salon’s inventory like that back of her hand. Wedding Atelier is a beautiful bridal boutique where I found my perfect wedding dress. Kirsten was my stylist and she was wonderful to work with. I told her about the dresses I liked and she came up with great choices for me to try on. I ended up picking a Pronovias fit and flare dress with beautiful beading that fit me like a glove.

The odd thing that happened was that at the next appointment I had for measurements, I was told that the dress was discontinued (they mistakenly did not take it off of the floor). Obviously this really upset me at first, but Kirsten and her manager offered to sell me the sample dress at a discounted price along with free beadwork restoration. She turned a bad situation into a good one and I was able to still buy my dream wedding dress. Thank you, Wedding Atelier!

I loved Wedding Atelier - a friend recommended it to me after I had basically given up all hope of finding "the perfect dress." I dealt with Marnie (consultant), Jess (consultant) and Marina (seamstress). All of them were wonderful. I felt like Marnie really listened to what I wanted, which was quite specific, yet vague (if that makes sense) and during my initial appointment she only brought me three dresses to try, all of which I really liked. I liked that she targeted what I want and didn't overwhelm me with choices. I fell in love with a Suzanne Neville gown and Marnie gave me advice as to how I could alter it to make it even more in line with what I wanted. Doing so did put me over my budget so that was a sticking point for me, but eventually I went with the alterations. I live in Australia but am from the US and Marnie and Jess were amazing at working with me to make sure my dress would be ready for my next trip as I was not comfortable having it altered in Australia. There was a slight problem with the straps I ordered in terms of the price I was quoted, but in the end we worked out a mutually agreeable solution, which I appreciated. Marina altered my dress on the same day for my first fitting so that we could make sure it was OK before I headed back to Australia. She did an amazing job and I felt like I was her daughter, she seemed to care that much about my dress. All of the girls kept in touch over the months leading up to the wedding and every time I called to make or confirm an appointment, everyone was friendly. I really loved my experience with Marnie, Jess and Marina - they gave me the wedding dress of my dreams and made me very comfortable during the process. I cannot recommend them enough.

I purchased my wedding gown and sash from Wedding Atelier. It is a very nice and organized bridal salon compared to some of the others I've visited. Debra, my bridal consultant and the other staff I interacted with were always very friendly and professional and I appreciate that my appointments always started on time. Debra asked me a few questions about my wedding upon our initial meeting and listened to what I liked and my budget and pulled a few dresses based on our conversation as well as one I requested to try on. I found the perfect dress having tried on just a few and Debra worked with me to keep it within budget. She also referred me to a wonderful seamstress who was local to me who did the few alterations I needed for a great price. Wedding Atelier is definitely the best bridal salon I've visited in the NYC area. I would highly recommend it to other brides.

I cannot sing the praises enough of Wedding Aterlier and my consultant there, Francesca. After going to another bridal salon and trying on several dresses that I had picked out in magazines, I realized that what I thought would look great on me didn't really fit the bill. I was very discouraged when I got to Wedding Atelier. I described my issue to Francesca and basically told her I didn't know what I wanted anymore. She picked 5 dresses, all of which were completely different and looked great on me. I ended up purchasing one of them. Had I been given a description of this dress, I would never had picked it since it was not what I thought I wanted; however, once I put it on, it looked amazing. I would have never found it on my own. At several other salons, I felt like the consultants just wanted to make a sale. I was a little concerned that Francesca had left before my dress arrived so she would not be there for my fittings. However, my new consultant was great and May, my seamstress, did a great job. I was very happy with my experience there and would recommend them to anyone.

I came to Wedding Atelier as a last stop, having thought I had already found my dress at another salon, but had made an appointment that I decided to keep. I was taken care of by Francesca, who was absolutely amazing, professional and truly cared about my opinion and price point. She only showed me dresses within my price point and even worked with me to buy the dress at a convenient time for me when I was able to get a trunk show discount. She was not pushy when I told her I needed to go home and think about the dress more, and was incredibly flexible when I came to try on my dress two more times before I actually pulled the trigger and bought it. The customer service was unparalleled in my opinion, when knowing my family was all on the west coast, Francesca allowed me to take a picture of the dress once I decided on it to send to my mom and sisters so they could share in that special moment. After I purchased the dress, I no longer dealt with Francesca, but I did go through their seamstress, May. She was wonderful and patient and had no problem when I brought my bridesmaids to each fitting and allowed me to take time in the dress, voice my opinions on where I really wanted the alterations and tried on about a million different shoes each visit. The only complaint is that the alteration fee is mandatory, no matter how many alterations you actually need. The salon is pristine and everyone I encountered was incredibly friendly and professional. If you are looking for a beautiful salon in Manhattan, I would recommend Wedding Atelier with Francesca for a wonderful experience finding THE DRESS where you are dealt with respectfully and patiently throughout your searching process.

Beautiful salon, gorgeous dresses.

My stylist, Francesca, was simply amazing. She is everything a dress stylist should be - enthusiastic, knowledgeable about what will look good for your body, exceptional taste, and incredibly patient. I also appreciated that I was able to tell her what I was looking for, and what my price point was, and she stuck to that perfectly. Rather than being pushy, she comes across as someone who truly cares about her clients being happy and finding their dream dress. It was a dream to work with Francesca (thank you!).

One drawback of the salon itself though - they generally do not let you take pictures. A dress can look very different in pictures, so I think this is a pretty important part of the process.

Clean, airy, quiet, and modern, The Wedding Atelier was a welcome change from some of the other mega-salons I visited in the course of shopping for a wedding dress. My sales associate Marnie was helpful, warm, and pulled the perfect dress for me almost instantly, despite my initial reluctance to try something that differed from what I thought I wanted. Alterations were a breeze--the shop's seamstress could not be any more sweet--and my communication with the store was professional and courteous.

I ended up buying my dress at the Wedding Atelier in Manhattan after finding the actual dress I decided to purchase at the Designer Loft boutique. I went with the Wedding Atelier for 2 main reasons:
1. they charged me less for the same exact dress and more for the alterations: Great!
When it comes to a strapless, huge-train heavy satin wedding dress, i want a seamstress who knows what she's doing. The person who referred me to the Designer Loft gave me the caveat that her bustle fell apart midway through the reception and she had to cut her train off with scissors (!) The seamstress - May - at Wedding Atelier knew exactly what she was doing, and gave my train a french bustle in the back that went nowhere, with all the number coded strings to hold it up.
2. As my maid of honor reminded me: you don't want to be more anal about your wedding dress than your wedding dress store.
The Wedding Atelier is pristine, clean, and they make EVERYONE take off their shoes before entering the main floor. That way when you walk around in your dress for fittings, there's not junk and dust all over the bottom of it.

My only note on this is that I had a disappointing second fitting that almost made things not work out. I had to call back and say that I wasn't happy with the way the dress was fitting me (the back was all loose and there was no waist shape whatsoever). Renee, my saleswoman, got on the case immediately, scheduled me a do-over fitting with no charge, and I walked out of that fitting very very happy. So if you don't get the sense that May the seamstress understands what you want, it may be a language barrier. Just keep pushing till you get through to the saleswoman and once she knows what she's doing, her work is stunning.

My experience was everything I could have hoped for! After trying on dresses for the first time the weekend prior at another big name Manhattan bridal salon (hint hint), I left the store confused and unsure of what to do next. While my experience there was also great, I just felt pressured to purchase a dress that didn't really do it for me and didn't give me the "wow" moment I was hoping and wishing for. And I am so happy I stuck to my guns and didn't cave in! Fast forward to the next weekend when my mom and I had an appointment at the Wedding Atelier with Marnie. After a brief conversation about what I was looking for, Marnie went off to pull dresses--and it just so happens that the dress I ended up buying was the very first one she put me in! My mom was immediately in tears but me being the level-headed and indecisive person that I am, I insisted to keep trying on dresses just to make sure we couldn't beat it--and we couldn't. I ended up going to another appointment that afternoon that I already had set at another salon but quickly rushed back to Wedding Atelier before they closed to try that first dress on one more time. I felt like through the entire process, no one rushed me or pushed me towards a decision other than my own, not to mention how fabulous Marnie was finding my dream dress from the very start. Thank you, thank you, thank you Marnie and the team at Wedding Atelier for finding the perfect dress for me, and for making the process a stress-free and enjoyable one. I highly recommend the Wedding Atelier -- there atmosphere is very relaxed and intimate and they are not a wedding factory like some other salons. Not to mention, the dresses and designers that they carry are ones that I didn't see at every other salon and that made the selection process that much more unique and special. No bride wants to be like every other one, or at least I certainly didn't. If you are looking for a dress, go here first -- I mean it!

After searching and searching for the perfect dress I finally stumbled upon the Wedding Atelier on Madison. Unlike Pronovias or Kleinfelds there isn't a big name/big price associated with it. They had a huge selection of dresses and only let me look at the dresses within my price range, not pushing me to spend more like other places. It seems like some dresses they have are last season - so, 2014 not 2015 - but because of this the prices are lower. The girl who helped me was a great listener and found me not only what I wanted but convinced me to try on a few dresses that I thought weren't my style but I ended up buying one of them! I got an amazing Pronovias dress for 2k! The only problem I had with them is that their alterations start at 600$, without including putting pads or a bra in. And because of the style of my dress, they can't even hem it. $600 is a lot for alterations when they can't even shorten the dress or put in a bra.

Wedding Atelier has a large selection of beautiful wedding gowns. My stylist, Marnie, was wonderful throughout the whole process. On my first visit, she let me take my time and showed me all types of dresses to help me narrow down my style. My tailor, Mae, did a beautiful job and my gown fit perfectly on my wedding day. What a WONDERFUL Boutique Wedding Dress experience I had here! I am SO thankful I booked an appointment with the Wedding Atelier after the NIGHTMARE wedding factory trash experience I had at what I was told was "the best" wedding dress shop in Manhattan (I will not name names, the TV show it has is enough, thanks). EVERY SINGLE PERSON at the Wedding Atelier was helpful and SO sweet! My stylist was Gwen, and she was a gem. She actually made wedding dress shopping FUN and even relaxing. They were even helpful with getting a swatch of fabric to me for my custom hat. The budget we gave was what some houses considered only "mid-range", yet they managed to impress me with the style and quality I was hoping for. They book up QUICK, and there was a sense of urgency once the dress was ordered to pay absolutely in "FULL ASAP" but they DO run a business after all!

Renee was an excellent salesperson, and the seamstress was phenomenal! The dress came out absolutely perfect. The bodice was completely beaded, and I was afraid that the tailoring wouldn't come out well, but boy was I wrong! The dress was stunning. I received tons of compliments (as I'm sure all brides do...)

I only have one regret: When tailoring the length of the dress, I wish they had asked if I would be putting on flats after the ceremony... I had the length tailored to my heels.... but I put on TOMS right after the ceremony, and my dress dragged about 2 inches. I was being stepped on constantly, but it was a minor flaw. The dress was still gorgeous, and it didn't hurt our wedding day. When you go get you dress tailored, consider ALL of the shoes you will be wearing.

I loooooooooooooooove this place!!!! They were excellent in everything from start to finish. If you need a wedding gown and you live in the tri-state area, go to them. Their selection is unlike any other and I went EVERYWHERE- Kleinfeld's, Pronovias, Priscilla of Boston, Bridal Suite of Centerreach, etc..so many places, I lost count. My gown was so unique and elegant and fit my personality sooooo much. I loved my choice and everyone I dealt with is sooo pleasant. Grace and Carrie (the owner) are the best!!!! The gown was a bit pricey BUT it is a designer gown and well worth every penny and every thousand. Sometimes if you call them, it is hard to get a live person because the answering service always picks up BUT this was one place I will recommend for eternity!! They are the best!

Wedding Atelier gave me a great deal on a designer gown. And their seamstress did a great job with alterations. However, they need to work on their professionalism. I once arrived for a fitting and nobody was at the store at the time of my appointment. I had to wait outside for about 15 minutes and then did not even receive an apology from the store owner. My original salesperson quit while my dress was being ordered, and I got assigned to another lady. She was also late to one of my fittings and did not apologize about her lateness. They also changed the price of alterations while my dress was being ordered. I had to throw a fit in order for them to give me the quoted price of alterations which was promised to me at the time I ordered the dress. So, I appreciated the discount on the dress, and cannot complain about the quality of the alterations, steaming, bagging, etc. which was all impeccable. The space of the store is beautiful and I was happy to go each time, but they should work on their professionalism.

Most wedding dress stores expect the bride to come in with a vision of what she wants. While I was open to many different kinds of dresses, I knew I did not want a strapless one. After telling this to my sales associates at a few other bridal salons, their attitudes and behavior towards me turned curt and cold, which discouraged me from the entire dress buying process.

At Wedding Atelier, they took my request in stride and helped me pick out gowns that met my criteria. I tried on about a dozen gowns, each a little bit closer to something I could see myself wearing. Eventually, a Hayley Paige design caught my eye and I started trying on dresses from her line and ended up selecting the beautiful Dori gown. I made my decision on the spot and placed my order that same day. Due to my short stature, Mae the seamstress wisely recommend I have my dress custom ordered, as the beading on the top portion on my dress would make alterations difficult.

Fast forward to a few months before the wedding and I was in for my first fitting. While the top portion of my dress was the correct length, the bottom was not, it was far too long. I wasn't too worried about it, but Mae and the manager Stacey were. They took it upon themselves to contact the designer, have the dress sent back and altered by the designer to match the custom length that I ordered and paid for. I did not have to get involved or lift a finger at all. By the time I came in for my second fitting, the gown was the perfect length on top and bottom. I was so grateful not to have another item added to my to-do list a few weeks before the wedding and I very pleased with the customer service provided by Mae and Stacey.

I found my dress at Wedding Atelier and I absolutely love it. However, after looking at 3 other dress shops in NYC, Wedding Atelier is the only shop that showed me dresses above the price range I gave them. The dress I ended up getting I fell in love with, thinking it was in my price range, and then I gasped when I heard the actual price. Seeing I was a bit shocked, the sales associate offered a discount and ultimately I decided to get the dress. However, I did feel like I was a bit manipulated into choosing a more expensive dress. That said, they have a wonderful selection of dresses in many different price ranges (many very reasonably priced, despite how fancy the shop seems). When my dress came in, I had a bit of a moment when I thought the color was a bit off, and the salespeople were very helpful and calm in letting me compare my dress to the sample and letting me take as much time as I needed to try on my dress versus the sample. Ultimately, they cannot control the dye lots and the difference was so subtle that I decided it was not a big deal, and I still loved the dress. They handled my stress very professionally and kindly.

I purchased my wedding dress from Debra earlier this year, and I had a lovely experience working with her. She listened to what I wanted and gave me honest opinions without being pushy. I also appreciate that she worked to stay within my budget. I can honestly say my dress was my dream dress!

I did originally have some issues with the alterations process, though in the end it all worked out. I think the issue for me was that during alterations, you are just one-on-one with a seamstress. I think it would be better to have a sales rep. and/or another seamstress there to provide additional feedback and insight. We ended up requesting this, and after having a bigger meeting/fitting, my dress came out perfectly!

I purchased my wedding dress from Wedding Atelier. Overall I had a pretty positive experience. At my initial appointment, Anna was very friendly, helpful and listening to my requests. This was one of the first places I went during my search for a dress and I wound up back here. When I made the purchase, I felt confident that all the alterations we discussed would be taken care of, but Anna left the job soon after and the seamstress that I'd spoken with did not ultimately work on my dress. Most of what we discussed did get taken care of, but I feel that some things got lost in translation a bit. I was able to explain these things during the fittings, but I think it was either a bit too late in the game for some of the tweaks or the seamstress wasn't always understanding. She was pretty skilled though and was able to make many of the changes we discussed. Still, there were a few small things about the top/back of the dress that weren't quite as I'd hoped, and for the huge amount of money spent, I felt I should be 100% (not 92%) happy. I also ordered my dress 1year before my wedding date. I was hoping that by ordering so far in advance, I would be able to start fittings a bit sooner. But the fittings don't start until about 8 weeks out. Still, I was able to get them all scheduled with no problem and they always started promptly when I arrived. I just wish they weren't so close to the wedding when I ordered the dress a year in advance. It was a bit stressful to be requesting alterations just 2 weeks before the wedding. However, I think this may be common practice in the industry though. Overall, I was pretty happy with Wedding Atelier. The selection of dresses is nice, the staff is professional and all appointments took place on time. The seamstress also seemed pretty skilled. I felt that they genuinely want to make sure you are 100% happy, but in order for that to happen the communication with the client (particularly at fittings) needs to be improved.

I got my wedding dress during a trunk sale at the Flatiron boutique. Marnie went above and beyond with helping me to find the perfect dress, even making time in her schedule the next day so I could try on the dress again (I was on the fence) and take advantage of the trunk sale discount.

Once I bought the dress, I felt like the level of service diminished. When I went for my first two fittings, I didn't have a stylist helping me (for the first, Marnie was on vacation but they didn't assign someone else to assist me, and at the second she was busy with another customer). I bought my veil at the second fitting, but the system was down, so I was told the order would be put in. When I arrived for my third fitting, the veil order hadn't been put in and when I went to pick up the dress it still wasn't ready -- they were still working on it.

I would recommend Wedding Atelier because I loved their boutique and their selection. Their seamstress is also amazing and went out of her way to help me. But do be aware that once the sale is made, they turn their attention to others who have yet to purchase.

Everyone there was really nice. I liked the fact they make you take off your shoes- it keeps their sample dresses clean. I tried on a dress there that i really liked and the sample fit me almost perfectly and they allowed me to purchase the sample at 50% off retail price. They stored the dress for me there untill it was time for alterations. I had a few changes made to the dress (cap sleeves and a bow removed) along with the usual alterations and their seamstress did a wonderful job. However, if I had to do it again I would have just taken the dress home the day I purchased it and found someone to alter it here. Considering I live in Philly it got to be a pain having to return to NYC 3 times for alterations, not to metion the money spent taking the train. I didn't like the fact that they didn't allow you to take pictures of yourself in the dress(until you purchased it)- it made it much more difficult to decide and I probably wouldn't have purchased that dress from them if it wasn't for being able to get the sample at half price. Overall tho I had a wonderful experience. They were very personable (not snooty like some of the shops you come across) and accomodating.

Loved buying my dress with Wedding Atelier. Loved my dress and the service. Only thing is, the seamstress didn't do as stellar a job as I had hoped for. Multiple times I walked in for my appointment, and she forgot what she was supposed to have done for me. I mean...come on. Worst part was, on my wedding day, when my sister got me into my dress, she said the work that the seamstress had done (to take my dress in) was showing, and so she had to safety pin that part down. Disappointing and annoying.

I went here to find a specific dress I had tried on somewhere else and ended up with a dress I loved even more! The assistant listened to what I wanted and found a dress that was perfect for me. The tailor, May, is brilliant and helped fit the dress to me just how I wanted (helping to show off the good bits and hide all the others!). I didn't actually visit any other places in New York so I can't compare but I would recommend this place. My only complaint is that it takes about 5 minutes to ever speak to anybody there. Try calling at unusual times.

The dress I bought was beautiful. The service was sooo personalized and it was never too crazy or crowded with over aggressive women tossing dresses at you like other places. My only complaint is that the bustle was sooooo confusing and complex and difficult, no one could get it to stay up the day of my wedding and instead we just had to pin it up with bunches of safety pins. Not the effect I wanted on a $4000.00 dress.

They were very nice and friendly but definitely didn't make you feel very special. You had to have an appointment and sometimes felt rushed. They did however order my dress from France, which it was a very hard dress to find. The alterations specialist was wonderful and did a great job refreshing my antique veil with pearls and appliques.

My experience at The Wedding Atelier started out fabulous. My stylist was Mona and she was a dream! She knew right away what dress I would love (and she was right) and she had an incredible sense of what would look right on me. She clearly loved what she was doing and that made me all the more excited. I met with her twice (the first time when I bought the dress and another time to show the dress to others) and I was incredibly happy with her service. However, before my first fitting I was told that Mona was no longer with the store. Although I was supposedly reassigned to another stylist, I only met that stylist once - and that was by chance and not when the dress was on me. I felt like I was left in the lurch to figure out for myself what were the best alterations to make to the dress. No one was there to tell me to make sure I could sit in the dress, or raise my arms or any other basic questions that a professional would know to ask and which then plauged me the week before the wedding. It was just me and the seamstress and whomever happened to be behind the register (for 2 of the 3 fittings). I felt abandoned. This was even more so when the store refused to honor a promise to charge only for the fabric for making a sash to go with my dress. I would still recommend brides-to-be to visit Wedding Atelier (it's still a breath of fresh air from Kleinfelds) but I would warn that the service may be lacking.

Great selection and my wife got the perfect melissa Swett dress, but they thought for two weeks that the dress hadn't come in yet when it was apparently sitting unopened in a corner of their office, and they were somewhat rude at times.

My experience with Wedding Atelier is very mixed. When I decided on a dress, I was pressured into getting it that day as expected. My stylist, Kathy, was helpful and straight forward but the manager at that time (they have a new manager now) was nasty and very cursory about things. The manager measured me for the dress in less than a minute and wrote down whatever number and didn't give me enough time to review the contract, so I had to be very assertive about it. About one month before the wedding, I still didn't get any update about when I will be getting my dress. I had to contact Kathy but she was out that day. I talked to the new manager, Stacey, and I had to go bridezilla on her. I felt bad but I had to do what I had to do get my dress and get the fittings that I paid for. As promised, I got my dress in two days and Stacey was so accommodating about my schedule. I had my first fitting with May and she asked me who measured me. I told her that the old manager did. She didn't say anything but I can read from her expression. Also, I read a lot of reviews about fittings and I was expecting my stylist or someone to be there but that was not the case. It was just me and May. Stacey checked in a couple of times but that was it. While I was getting the fitting, one of the stylist removed my stuff from the dressing room without asking and I was a bit shocked that she would do it without letting me know. I thought about telling Stacey about it but let that one go since I was more focused on the fitting. Other subsequent fittings (two more) went well but I didn't have a stylist with me to pick out veils and accessories. So, my overall experience, is just ok but Stacey and May were great.

I LOVED my dress. So glamorous, and chosen by one of the sales associates here. However, then there were issues. When I was ready to purchase the dress, they ordered me the sample size without measuring me. I know better. Samples can be stretched out. I should have insisted they measure me, but they called the seamstress up, she pulled around at the dress on me, and said to go with the sample size. Long story short, I had back cleavage. They thought it looked fine and that my sister could just keep unzipping me to smooth me out throughout the day. (Sure, nothing else going on!) Or they suggested maybe if I let my 38Ds hang loose, a bustier wouldn't add to the squishing. Eventually they agreed to take the dress out. It looked acceptable, but it was a shame. My side seams were not centered where they should have been, and I was still self conscious about how tight around my back and underarms it was. It was not like I was unwilling to order a "big" size. If they told me I needed a size 57, I would have said ok. I had no plans to loose more than a few pounds (I lost 7) so they didn't need to go small on me. That and the fact 7 of the 9 strings they made my bustle with tore off within 30 minutes of having it tied up gets them these disappointing ratings. It was a sad experience.

Gorgeous dress but some issues along the way

I’ll start by saying that my dress was absolutely gorgeous and could have not been more perfect for my wedding day. Wedding atelier had an unbelievable offering and they were able to easily guide me to the right dress based on our initial conversations.

That being said, I did have some issues when it came to the alterations process. There were some things my stylist initially told me they would do (line the cups a different color, untack the train) that they did not. I showed up to more than one fitting expecting one thing and it just hadn’t been done and I was told that what I had been promised initially wasn’t possible. Also this was not redesigning the dress it was literally just switching white cups for nude and untacking the train. While we were able to untack the train and line one part of the dress in the end, it was just a frustrating process because what I was told up front was just completely false and felt like it was just said to make me buy the dress. Even at the final fitting the headpiece I had ordered that they gave me was different from the one I had originally picked out and was definitely a cheaper version.

That all said, they did fix these things and I think it was the original stylist (she no longer works there) that caused these issues. And the dress did look gorgeous so...stressful but at least it worked out in the end.

Disappointed

I was so excited when I found my dress at wedding atelier. It was well over my orginal budget for my dress. But I loved it and went ahead and bought it. I had high expectation since I was at a boutique in NYC.

I was told that I had to order an odd size which would cost me an additional 375. I was hesitant because I knew that I would loose weight. I was reassured by the sales manager and sales person that it is better to go bigger and size to your body.

Well a year later, it was time for my dress fitting. I had a total of seven fittings. I lost 12 pounds which isn’t a drastic amount and was reassured multiple times that it wouldn’t matter when I bought it. Every single time it wasn’t getting better. I was told by the sales team that it was because I lost too much weight. That these dresses are custom made to your body. I would have happily waited to order it. The day I am leaving for my wedding. I had to come in three times. I left unsatisfied and still not 100 percent happy with how the top portion looked on my body. The the top was loose and the sash wasn’t sewed on correctly.

Afterwards I sent photos and explained the situation. I am still very disappointed that I spent so much money and wasn’t 100 percent happy with how my dress looked. It wasn’t altered correct to my body.

My first appointment was great and I though I found such a nice team to work with for my wedding dress. But once my dress arrived it was very disappointing. I had to insist for an appointment to go try it on. My initial sales person somehow became very unavailable when I arrived and somebody else took her place, but the replacement acted with much disinterest (as I already bought the dress I guess she though the bare minimal would do). The dress was NOT the quality I expected or paid for. There were asymmetries, beads falling off etc. And of course you can't return it, so I was stuck with this dress. It made me unhappy and I wished I could just return it.
