Talented Photographer

We had a wonderful experience with Runaway Bride. We eloped just the two of us, and Jonathan was very helpful, providing recommendations for an officiant and locations to get married on the island. He was easy to work with and is a talented photographer. His shots captured our ceremony beautifully, allowing us to share our day with friends and family. Highly recommend!

Jonathan is incredible! He was wonderful to work with and he did an amazing job capturing the feeling of our wedding day. He also had incredible expertise to know the best spots to shoot our photos. I feel very lucky to have had him capture all the happiness and excitement of our wedding day.

We couldn't have been happier with Runaway Bride! We got married on 12/30/17 and saying it was a cold day was an understatement, but Jonathan didn't let that stop him ... he took us all over Town and Brant Point to take the most amazing pictures! By the end of the day, we felt like we had a new friend we had known for years. He's super fun and the quality of his pictures are amazing. Our family and friends still haven't stopped talking about our photos ... we'll be forever grateful for his ability to capture such fabulous memories for us. The pictures were ready super fast, too!

Jonathan is so great and easy to work with! We had worked with him previously on a work project, and now for our wedding. His laid back, easy-going personality fits right in to your wedding day. Very talented, creative, and professional... and just a really cool guy. He captured the all the emotion, fun, and magic of our day, I love every single photo. Jonathan was great to work with! My husband and I had to change our wedding date due to Hurricane Jose and Jonathan was incredibly accommodating! He shifted his schedule for us and was extremely professional and punctual. He is very laid back and is open to suggestions from the bride/groom/family members/wedding coordinators etc. He works well with all other vendors and got us our beautiful photos back in just two weeks! I would recommend Jonathan to anyone looking for a Nantucket wedding photographer!

Jonathan was extremely professional and creative! He made our wedding day so special. He brought us to locations we were not aware of, and the photos turned out beautiful! We had a last minute change of schedule in the morning and Jonathan immediately showed up at the updated location. His easygoing personality and ability to be flexible yet efficient really put my husband and I at ease. We would recommend Runaway Bride to any couple looking for an amazing wedding photographer on Nantucket!

Jonathan was great and with only a few days notice was able to squeeze our engagement into his schedule. His communication and timeliness really made the process very easy.

It was a pleasure having Jonathan take our wedding photos; he was very flexible with our engagement session as well. We don't live near Nantucket so we arranged to do the engagement session during the same time we were in town for our wedding and it worked our perfectly. The pictures he took were amazing and we got them in a very short amount of time. I would recommend Jonathan to anyone wanting pictures taken in the Nantucket area.

We loved having Jonathan do our wedding and engangement pictures - They turned out incredible. Jonathan was not at all pushy but was still able to wrangle everyone into place for all the pictures. He suggests beautiful locations!!

We are so happy we hired Runaway Bride Nantucket to take our wedding photos! Jonathan did a wonderful job not only on our wedding photos, but also on our engagement session and some pre-wedding festivities, which we hired him for in addition to our wedding day! Jonathan is quite professional yet laid back, which made the "photos" part of our day stress free (even with a gigantic family )!! He is assertive without being pushy and even my husband who generally claims to hate photographers really liked working with Jonathan! We got everything we could have wanted plus some! We love the mix of photojournalistic and classic shots we received from him just 17 days after our wedding!

I can’t recommend Jonathan enough.

Being from Nantucket, he knew very special locations to shoot at, the right time to do it, he was very accessible, and even came to our rehearsal dinner for some great pictures too.

Jonathan didn't miss a thing and was by our side the whole time, without us feeling like he was even there. He’s a consummate professional and very pleasant to work with.

I felt his price was fair from the beginning and after seeing the photos, I felt like we got more than we paid for.

Jonathan did a perfect job for us for both our engagement and wedding photos.

Aside from his excellent eye and great work, which stands out on its own, he is low-pressure and easy going, and at the same time efficient and effective.

It was like having a friend take great pictures for us. I would recommend Jonathan without batting an eye.

My wife and I researched and spoke with many photographers on Nantucket and simply found Jonathan to be the best choice for us. We were contacted months prior to our wedding to begin discussing conceptual ideas of our wedding and Jonathan's organized approach actually helped us to lay the groundwork for the entire weekend. Upon meeting Jonathan in person we hit it off instantly. It was as if we had a new friend with us at our wedding and Jonathan had a knack for putting us at ease and enabling us to relax. Complimenting his easy going personality is an unbelievable talent for photography, which graced us with a beautiful collection of photographs of a weekend filled with memories. We highly and sincerely recommend Jonathan!!

We met Jonathan through a family member, so we knew we could trust him even before we met him in person. While a short engagement prevented us from taking engagement photos, we communicated over Skype prior to the wedding, and when we met Jonathan in person the day before our wedding, we immediately felt comfortable and at ease.

Jonathan and his wife Rebecca are both wonderful to work with - they have relaxed, laid-back demeanors, and it was easy to forget sometimes that they were even there capturing the day's moments. Their genuine and obvious enthusiasm for what they do helped make taking our pictures easy and fun, and not once did we ever feel like anything was too posed or something we didn't feel comfortable doing. They seemed like they were enjoying themselves as much as we were. And of course, our pictures are stunning! Jonathan hadn't shot at our venue, Saltwater Farm Vineyard in Stonington, CT before, but we really feel like we he and his wife were able to capture the essence and beauty of the place as well.

We would absolutely recommend Runaway Bride Nantucket to anyone, and if we had the chance, we'd do it all over again with them there to capture the day.

To start, let me just tell you that my wife and I are not the type that enjoy getting in front of the camera. In all honesty, we were duped by my now mother-in-law the first time. Months before the wedding she was able to arrange some engagement photos. Unexpectedly, we had a photo op of a lifetime exploring true local corners of Nantucket Island. After stumbling into an old rusty VW bus to snap a few shots, I am confident that Jonathan provides the most personalized and freeing photography experience.

During the wedding, Jonathan and his wife Becca were amazing to work with. After having one experience already, my wife and I felt completely liberated in front of the camera. Their presence, creativity, and energy truly brought the wedding together into the most beautiful Nantucket Back Yard wedding of all time.

My husband and I had our wedding celebration on May 18, 2013 at the Wherowhero House in Nantucket, MA. We were absolutely thrilled with our photos! JDN is the best!

We got married on April 12 in Center City Philadelphia and had the absolute privilege to work with Jonathan on our wedding day! We just returned from our honeymoon and got to see the hundreds of amazing shots he captured throughout the day and we couldn't be happier with what we saw! Jonathan captured all of the magical moments of our day with perfection and ease. We couldn't have gotten luckier than to find him and, hands down, highly recommend him to any bride looking! We were so impressed across the board, from his professionalism to his fun attitude to his perfect in-the-moment photos, not to mention our stunning engagement photos too! Every photo is better than the last.

I cannot say enough great things about Jon and the photos he took of our wedding. People would call me practically in tears because the pictures showed so clearly the sheer joy and happiness felt throughout the entire day!! Laurie, my daughter's best friend, was invited to my wedding as a guest. I have known her for many years and was happy to see her again since our moving to Florida. She is a charming young lady, outgoing and personable and happily fits into our family as a 'fifth' daughter. The best part of all; Laurie is also a talented and accomplished wedding photographer. Without my being aware of it, and of her own accord, she captured the most wonderful candid shots of our ceremony and guests. I can't tell you how excited we were when we saw the surprise proofs! I had originally chosen to meet Jonathan based solely on his portfolio after I had seen pictures of a friends wedding he had shot. Every picture looked like it could be torn from a magazine and I admired how he managed to capture the movement and emotion of those he worked with and really tell a story through his photos. Upon meeting Jonathan, my (now) husband and I appreciated his professionalism, his craftsmanship, and his artistic style, as well as his kind and laid back personality. I trusted him to get the formal photos we needed on our wedding day and to also freeze the little candid moments that a bride and groom want to remember forever. Jonathan was flexible and always available any time I called to go over details or ask a question. I was happy to have JDN Photography capture our wedding day and would recommend highly to any bride-to-be!

Jonathan is an AMAZING photographer. He was so easy to work with throughout our entire wedding process. Jonathan is true artist with a great eye which makes him a fantastic wedding photographer. His shots are unreal and he is one of the easiest people to work with. His friendliness and laid back attitude puts you at ease in front of the camera. Jonathan also gets great shots without distributing the celebration; you will barely know he is there. I would recommend JDN Photography to anyone looking for a photographer. I knew right after I left from meeting Jonathan that he would be our photographer (we met with several considering photography was high on our list). Their pictures are amazing and they (Jonathan and Dave) made everyone feel comfortable right away on our wedding day. I was very impressed with his responsiveness to emails and with getting the photos to you VERY quickly. He was our favorite vendor and overall we thought he was fabulous!!!

Jonathan was an absolute pleasure to work with. He is extremely easy-going and will work with you to get amazing pictures. He even came up to NYC to shoot our engagement pictures and you can tell he absolutely loves what he does. The day of the wedding he was prompt, excited and he and his second photographer Dave Breisacher took amazing pictures. He moved throughout the venue so well, wasn't intrusive or over-bearing at all. I would recommend Jonathan in a heartbeat -- he has given us amazing pictures of a day we will remember forever!

Just look at his website and you know that he is fantastic!! He made us feel so comfortable and at ease it made the day even more enjoyable! We haven't received our pictures yet but have no doubt they will be beautiful, our engagement pics were stunning!! One of the best things is that he is completely unobtrusive, there were several points in the night where one of us would say "Where's Jonathan?" then look around and he was just on the outskirts of the actions snapping away! Jonathan was fantastic to work with and the photos were superb! I am an avid online shopper and everyone thought I was crazy to use a photographer that I found on wedding wire. After the engagement pictures they were starting to agree that I was right to take the risk, now that we have the wedding pictures our family and friends are in complete awe! My husband and I are pretty simple people but Jonathan was able to capture the simplicity in an elegant way. He was able to collaborate my mother's wish for traditional pictures and my request for the more artistic pictures with great results. From a girl who loves pictures and husband who hates when people break out the camera we could not be any happier! Would highly recommend using JDN photography.

John was incredible. He went above and beyond our expectations to make our day so special. Jonathan was very easy to work with and he took the most amazing photos of our wedding. The photos were artistic and thoughtful. My husband and I found Jonathan by accident on a surf webiste. I only wish accidents like that could happen more often! He was wonderful. His personality molded with ours so well we felt like we had known him forever. His eye for the perfect pictures to fit us was amazing. Jonathan flew down from Philly to spend our wedding weekend with us! He was outstanding! He even flew down to shoot our 2-day engagement shoot back in March. He was all over the place at our wedding and I don’t even remember seeing him at times. His pictures came out great! I just wish there were pictures of the tables so I can remember all the family members that were there. Over 500 pictures were taken....how to chose just 60 for the album is crazy!! Jonathan is an amazing photographer! He is completely unobtrusive yet gets fabulous shots. He has an artistic eye for photos that look just amazing and is successful in getting those shots. Not only is he a great photographer, but a wonderful guest that all my family and friends enjoyed being around. My sister-in-law recommended that we book Jonathan as our wedding photographer and it was the best decision we made! I was so caught up in wedding planning that I didn't even get to confirm photograph details until a couple days before the Big Day. I sent a ridiculous e-mail with lots of questions and Jonathan e-mailed me back within 30 minutes with all of the answers I needed; that BLEW ME AWAY!! Jonathan is so relaxed and easy to work with, but also captures the most breathtaking moments throughout the day. We loved the fact that Jonathan was unobtrusive and was taking most pictures without being highly visible; the day was clearly more about the celebration than "a photograph shoot." We highly recommend booking a "second photographer" - which Jonathan can provide. This allows you to get great pictures of the bride AND groom getting ready before the ceremony without the stress of one photographer running between both. This also allows you to get multiple perspectives of the same moment, which is a neat contrast (i.e. this came in very handy for our ceremony!) Mark - our second photographer - was awesome as well and they both worked so great together. Book JDN Photography and you'll have the most beautiful memories captured forever.

I was married on 5/23/2010. Jonathan photographed my wedding and I must say, he was the easiest vendor to deal with. Punctual, extremely helpful, creative, knowledgeable, patient, calm... Even guests at the wedding were extremely impressed at how great a job he was doing because he went around on his own to capture a lot of candid photos and various details that will help my husband and I to remember the day (even things and people we didn't get to spend much time with).

We interviewed 5 different photographers, heard horror stories from friends about their costly wedding photographers, and did a lot of research into what we truly wanted out of this aspect of our wedding. By far, Jonathan was the best choice. We would absolutely hire him again and recommend him to anyone, whole-heartedly. Our photos are beautiful and were even finished before we returned home from our honeymoon. What more can I say.... He is awesome!

Jonathan is one amazing photographer. He is the only photographer that we trust to take pictures of our 3, 2, and 1 year old children. Not many photographers can handle the demands of 3 small children but Jonathan can. He has limitless amounts of patience and always gets the best shots from candids to more formal shots. It is easy to just sit back, relax and allow him to work his magic. We are repeat customers many times over. We've never been disappointed and we are always pleasantly surprised by the amazing pictures that capture the true personality of our family and kids. Jon is a very responsible man who was always prompt with a response to any of my questions. His flexibility with being able to work with my videographer was wonderful. The amount of pictures that were taken are immense and they are beautiful. Jon is not invasive and half of the time I didn't even know he was there, and the shots are unique and creative.
