Couldn’t recommend this vendor enough!!
We had the most amazing experience at Wavering Place. The venue is absolutely stunning. The owners are very accommodating and knowledgeable about the history of the space. They allowed us to come a week before our wedding and bury a bottle of bourbon which I really appreciated. The venue has spaces for getting ready that are beautiful and functional. I’m obsessed with the trees on the property and the lighting during sunset. My wedding pictures turned out beautiful because of the lighting coming through the trees. The venue has so many different spaces that allowed for different spaces for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. The amount of space allowed our guests to spread out but still be present. I couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful place and better vendors to work with. You have such a breath taking entrance when you walk down the stairs to your ceremony under the trees. Every mentioned that moment throughout the wedding. I hope to rent out the space for an anniversary in the future and stay the night.Wavering Place's reply:

Excellent and beautiful
We held a wedding for 200 people at the end of April 2022. The venue was beautiful with an area for the ceremony, cocktail hour, buffet dinner, and large tent with the dance floor and band.. the grounds were beautiful and well manicured. Can’t be happier with our experience and choice.Wavering Place's reply:

Perfect Venue and Superb Service!
Wavering Place and owners Lisa and Weston Adams offered the most amazing venue and experience for our wedding! The grounds, kitchen house, groom's suite, and pavilion are immaculately kept. Whether it was COVID, weather, or life's unexpected obstacles, Lisa approached each situation with professionalism, positivity, and encouragement! Her years of event experience at Wavering Place coupled with her cultivated relationships with local caterers, rentals, florists, sound technicians, band agents, and wedding planners made our experience easier to navigate and much less stressful - which allowed us to truly enjoy the entire weekend of festivities! There isn't one aspect of our magical day and evening that we would change! Kudos to this team of great people for providing the perfect venue for your most important day! We would highly recommend Wavering Place as the perfect place for your outdoor wedding or venue!! -

Our experience with Lisa and Wavering Place could not have been better! My now husband and I were very worried with June approaching that we would have to postpone our wedding due to COVID 19. We were originally scheduled to get married indoors at another venue but with the pandemic we chose to move everything outdoors, just a month before our wedding date. Lisa was more than accommodating with the changes and quick turn around for our approaching date. We could not have imagined a better wedding day. This is a stunning venue with so much to offer! Highly recommend. -

Absolutely Beautiful Venue!
This venue has always been my dream wedding venue and it lived up to every expectation! I loved feeling like we had our own hidden gem that close to Columbia! From getting ready in the bridal cottage to dancing the night away in the green house, it was perfect! We highly recommend Wavering Place Plantation! -

When we saw WP for the first time, I knew it was where we would get married. The beautiful grounds, breath-taking plantation home, and incredibly preserved Kitchen House made it the the perfect match for us. We held our ceremony in front of the main house and reception in/ around the Green Tree House. This made for a great setup as our guests moved easily from ceremony to reception.
Overall, I would give it 10 out of 10 and would re-live that day in the same exact location if I could! -

We could not have expected any better than what we received with Wavering Place as our wedding reception view. From start to finish, Lisa was the most kind and helpful venue host that we could have asked for. By having our wedding on a Sunday, she was able to work with us on a price that met our limited budget.
Her communication was prompt, and we always felt like she had our best interests at heart. Through our conversations we learned that we are actually distantly related, and she provided us with an antique map of Richland County after our stay in her B&B bridal cottage.
She was thrilled when we decided to create a scavenger hunt of the plants on the property, and she provided us with many of the names of the plants at Wavering. And when it seemed rain was inevitable the week of the wedding, she organized for the tent from the previous day’s wedding to be rented to us at a significantly reduced rate.
Fortunately for us, the rain held off for most of the reception, and we were able to experience the full beauty of Wavering with our closest friends and family. We could not recommend Lisa and Wavering Place highly enough. 5 Stars!

Most beautiful venue & amazing people
Best venue! Not only is it the most beautiful place, they are so accommodating and personable. Lisa and her team worked with me to make sure my day was perfect (even through a tropical storm). Could not have envisioned a better venue, a fairy tale venue, and your pictures will be amazing on the Wavering grounds! -

A Wedding Dream
Wavering Place is THE MOST romantic, quaint, beautiful venue. When you are there, I swear time moves slower. Not only are the gardens and the home breathtaking, the venue is full of nature and so quiet at the same time (which I really appreciated for my ceremony!) The Adams family are an incredible group, some of the best people I've ever met. Shana specifically was an amazing help through my whole planning process, and someone I still keep in touch with now. Not only is Wavering Place amazing, but they have a great relationship with South Carolina's top vendors and that says a lot about a venue. They truly love their couples and will take great care of you, your special day is also so special to them! -

Tucked away just outside Columbia is the most beautiful Plantation home with an abundance of giant oaks, magnolias and native plants. The gardens are breathtaking, and the Adams family is so wonderful! I remember seeing Wavering Place online and knowing this was our venue. As soon as we pulled down the driveway for the first tour, I got butterflies. You feel as though you're in a different world, and there was no doubt in my mind that this is where my future husband and I would be married. I mostly corresponded with Shana, and I cannot say enough great things about her. She was so responsive, caring and patient with us throughout the wedding process. I immediately felt at home when I met her. You will not go wrong with Wavering Place. Each wedding I have seen there has been unique to the couple and is stunning every single time. Don't hesitate on this one. It is the hidden gem that is taking Columbia by storm, and you will fall in love with it just as I have. -

The property was my dream venue and the gorgeous pictures of the home do it great justice so I'll review the person with whom you'll be working.
Shana has been dedicated to preserving Wavering Place from the moment she stepped foot on the grounds. Her love for the home and knowledge about the history and flora (she's a master gardener!) puts you in great hands. However, it's Shana's joy and generosity that truly helped my wedding become a dream. She is the most easy-going, on-top-of-it and gracious woman you will ever meet and I am so happy to revisit Wavering Place, not only because it was the setting for my wedding, but to see such an incredible friend. Thank you for everything, Shana, the Adams family and Wavering Place! You are forever in my heart! -

We are so happy we picked Wavering Place as our venue. It is huge and can fit so many people, which was great for our 175 guests. It was also great to have flexibility with where we could have the ceremony and reception. The few downsides I would say are the price (but it's worth it) and some things that happened right before the wedding by the venue booking another event right after ours. But otherwise, it was perfect for what we wanted and was absolutely beautiful!
