A major reason why my husband and I picked Waterview Loft is because it was all inclusive and in my mind that meant hands off. Wow! Lizzie, Jed, Mikayla and team made planning and the day of the best day ever. Guests were SO impressed by how kind and considerate all the staff members were and how in sync they were. This was definitely a stretch for us financially as we wanted to spend less, but the result and epic party feels worth it all. Also, I want to take a moment to compliment the food. Everyone loved it, the stations is what we picked and guests LOVED the personalized carving and pasta stations. No one complained we didn't have a cake because the desserts were so tasty as well. I am so happy!

We had a wonderful time at our wedding celebration and could not have asked for a better venue. We loved the convenience of WVL as a full-service venue, which made our planning process so easy and stress-free. Our guests loved the location, the food and drinks were phenomenal, and the service was top-notch.

I highly recommend WVL for anyone who wants to have a wedding/party with no planning stress and minimal work. I also think the price was very reasonable compared to other quotes we got and based on the amount of service we received.

you can’t beat the views at this venue! very minimal decor needed with the city scape and water being beautiful natural adornment. The whole day went without a hiccup thanks to their coordination team.

Waterview Loft is the most amazing all-in-one venue! They set you up with all of their amazing vendors for food, decor, florals, cake, DJ services, and rehearsals. Lizzie, our wedding coordinator, was amazing as was the day of coordinator and staff. They made sure our day was perfect. They were so attentive throughout the day of the wedding and the whole planning process. The quality of service and the quality if their hand selected vendors was above and beyond. Highly highly recommend.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Waterview Loft and the staff! First, it's a beautiful building overlooking the water and Canada. For the prep, Lizzie did an amazing job communicating with us and helping make our dream a reality. It was an amazing experience before and during the wedding! During the event, they made sure we were taken care of. They had food (which was AMAZING), water, and drinks ready to go at all time...and cake! We had the atrium set up with a couch, a few tables, a selfie station, and a flower wall, and it worked perfectly! If the band was too loud, people could escape and go sit and relax before going back to the bar and dance floor! The vendors we worked with through Waterview Loft (Emerald City Designs, DJ Pro Lighting, and Sweet Heather Ann) were all amazing and did a fantastic job! We highly recommend, it is worth money. We also were worried about the dance floor, and having a "Big Fat Greek Wedding." 175 people RSVPed (with duet plate and dessert table - which people LOVED), it was the week with snowstorms every day and we ended up with around 150 people and it was very comfortable (definitely room for a lot more).

From the moment we had our first tour I knew the Waterview Loft was the place I wanted to get married. Stunning views and all inclusive. I could not be happier with our decision! The consistent and timely communication from start to finish was so incredibly reassuring. Lizzie was amazing every step of the way and helped us with all of the details including things we would not have thought of in the first place. Having all of our vendors coordinated through the Waterview Loft was extremely helpful and definitely took away a lot of stress. Our wedding day was a dream and we heard nothing but good things from all of our guests. The attentiveness and impeccable service was what stuck out the most and made it an evening we won't forget! 10/10 recommend for any event you are considering!

Having my wedding at Waterview Loft was the best decision I could have made! Lizzie, the venues wedding coordinator, was phenomenal to work with throughout the months/year leading up to our wedding day and was always so quick to respond to any question we threw at her and was very accommodating to any requests. When you book Waterview Loft, they are partnered with a DJ, bakery, and floral and design company, so it takes off all the pressure of having to find any of those vendors as well. The only vendor we found ourselves was our photographer. You may pay a bit more for it, but the convenience and low pressure was totally worth it in my opinion. Their team sets up and takes down anything you bring for the day of, so at the end of the night you just have to put it in your car to take home. No need for you to have to show up early the day of to set anything up. The views at the venue were unmatched, and all of our guests were raving about their experience and how great the food and service was! Jed, the event manager, and Chloe, the day of coordinator (both provided by the venue), were phenomenal on the day of! Everything went perfectly, and Chloe always made sure we had a drink in our hand. I could not recommend Waterview Loft enough for your wedding!

Our wedding reception at the Waterview Loft was the best night of our lives

Waterview Loft hosted our Memorial Day weekend wedding this year! We were so impressed with how everything turned out and so happy with the process throughout the entire wedding planning year. Waterview Loft covers most of the items and is truly a one-stop shop to help take the stress of wedding planning out of the way. They were helpful through the entire process and handled the food and drinks along with the coordination and introduction of all of the vendors (cake, flowers, etc.). We were connected with each vendor, and they worked directly with Waterview Loft to make sure everything went off smoothly on the day of. One big thing with Waterview Loft, is that while you have specific vendors, you truly get to create your own vision and see it come to life. One of the things that drew us to the venue was looking at all of the pictures of previous events and seeing just how different each and every set up was. It proved that we could create our own theme and could have the wedding we had always pictured. They helped coordinate the ceremony, the décor, tables, chairs, handing the set up, tear down and the service. The food was incredible and our guests could not stop talking about how great it was. We worked with Lizzie throughout the process and she was always available via email or text when we had questions or needed to make adjustments to any items (like adding in late night options or different bar mixers). Everyone with Waterview Lofts were professional throughout the entire process. Jed helped coordinate our wedding day and the service was great all around. Because Waterview Loft is a professional business and they have events all the time, there were so many things they did throughout the night that we would have never thought of. They made sure the guest book , card box and other items were taken care of and put away. They set up our wedding signage throughout the venue along with all other drop off items and when the night was complete, everything was returned to us just as we gave it. Along with our own items, they also had packed up our cake and multiple meals, desserts for us to take home! We loved the set-up of the building to make it a slightly difference experience for our guests rather than a traditional wedding set-up all in one room. Having an open access garage door to the patio right on the Detroit riverfront for the reception was amazing. It allowed our guests to enjoy our band from both inside and outside the venue and was perfect for everyone. We were so glad we chose Waterview Loft for our special day!

All I can say is - you need to get married here! Not only is the venue so gorgeous but we worked with Lizzie as our wedding coordinator and she was so helpful and top of everything. The vendors they use are amazing as well, I have only positive things to say! The service was absolutely incredible during our wedding as well, the team they have was so attentive and helpful, we couldn't be more grateful. We've had many of our guests tell us that it was the most fun wedding they had ever been to and they didn't want the night to end, which speaks to the vendors they recommend and the atmosphere their team creates. Our wedding at Waterview Lofts was an absolute dream. It was everything I could ask for and more. Working with the Event Coordinator, Lizzie, allowed me to fully visualize the whole wedding day. We had our wedding at Waterview Loft in the fall of 2023. Everything about working with Waterview was amazing, their attention to detail is unmatched. The all inclusive vendor package made wedding planning so much easier than seeking out our own vendors and they did a lot of the time consuming work for us. Our even coordinator, Lizzie, was so easy to work with and helped us through every step of the planning process with literally everything. Our experience the day of our wedding far exceeded our expectations, we truly felt like royalty and were catered to by the staff the entire evening, especially by Adel our day of coordinator. They had our special drinks and food preferences at the ready all night! The food for our guests was amazing, from the hors d'oeuvres all the way to the late night snack. The location of the venue was all our guests could talk about for weeks, they loved the water front view of the Detroit River and easy accessibility to the city and hotels. I could not say enough good things about our experience here, if you want to host a wedding that offers the full package, look no further than Waterview Loft.

Our ceremony and reception went off without a hitch. Everything was perfectly in place and ran smoothly. My wife and I were never without a drink in our hand if we wanted it, the food was incredible, all the staff was amazing and absolutely on top of everything. My husband and I got married at Waterview Loft on 12/31/22. Leading up to our wedding, Lizzie did a great job assisting us with everything and preparing us for our wedding. She responded to emails promptly and professionally. Her and the Continental Team did an excellent job setting up our food tasting, accommodating our special drink requests, and more. They did a fantastic job! However, what really made our experience at WVL beyond our imagination was the day of. The staff was FANTASTIC. I truly cannot express our gratitude enough for how incredible everyone was - Kenny and Mackenzie went above and beyond to ensure that everything was absolutely perfect. We did not have to do a single thing the entire night! Mckenzie made sure that we both had everything we needed the entire night, including delivering us our drinks of choice to us during cocktail hour, our table, and even to the dance floor. All of our guests went on and on about how gorgeous the venue was, how wonderful the staff was, and how delicious the food was. Every single guest told us it was the BEST wedding food they have ever had and how insanely large the portions were. WVL and the entire staff truly made our wedding night the best night of our lives. We could not be more thankful for everything that they did to ensure everything was absolutely perfect! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

We could not have had a better day! WVL was incredible throughout our entire experience. Jake was so fun and easy to work with to get our date and contract locked down. Lizzie was unbelievably organized, patient and carried a great attention to detail! We had very specific ideas for our wedding reception and WVL worked diligently to make sure each one came to life! After countless emails back and forth, Lizzie was continuously so positive and helpful with every detail! We were blown away at the quality of service on the day of our wedding. As soon as we stepped in the door, there was not one thing we had to worry about. Chloe and Diego were extremely attentive, organized, and hard working to ensure the entire evening flowed perfectly. The venue itself was absolutely stunning. With the help of Emerald City Design and Event Theory, the space was transformed into our dream!

I don't know where to even start Lizzie was great from start to finish. Follow ups and what to expect email were send often and questions were answered promptly. The entire staff is top notch my wife and I didn't have a empty drink all night before it was being replaced. The service our guests was on par with that as well QUICK bartenders and short lines all night. The vendors they work with are top notch and communicate what to expect and when to come constantly. The skyline of Detroit and Windsor will blow you and your guest away especially at night. Ill be honest I wasn't thrilled at the price of this place when she picked it. But the fact everything was included besides photographer made planning a breeze so I would definitely take that into account. Overall Waterview loft made our special day something we will honestly never forget. It was the best night our lives. It was worth every penny.

People always say there’s going to be some bumps on the big day, but we didn’t run into anything! Waterview Loft had amazing food and atmosphere for our wedding. The transitions were seamless and everyone had a blast! This was all made possible through careful coordination and planning by Lizzie, who was great to work with from start to finish.

From the start of our experience when we began talking with Jake, we were blown away by the customer service that was demonstrated, and in fact was the deciding factor for us when we chose WVL. From our first engagement with Jake, and then as we transitioned to working with other staff members, the attention to detail and the true caring that was demonstrated on every level put WVL leagues above other venues that we had considered. As we transitioned through Covid lockdown and several staffing changes, everyone continued to be transparent, prompt, and kind, which is all that we could have asked for amongst the weirdness of shutdowns, and uncertainty. Our experiences with Pro DJ, Sweet Heather Anne and with Emerald City were exemplary and they clearly demonstrated passion, and personal care in everything that we discussed with them. Emerald City really fulfilled our hopes for the space. They took our colourful concept and made it tasteful and striking. Sweet Heather Anne was a joy to work with. Heather demonstrated sincere pleasure with our cake concept and really made it into a work of art. Pro Dj was simple to work with and set the tone for the day from the beginning. They kept the party moving, and kept the dance packed all night. The day of staff was truly remarkable. Kata kept us on schedule and on time for the ceremony, and did an incredible job of wrangling our unruly 18 person wedding party. The space was decorated beautifully, and was really injected with colour in our floral arrangements exactly as we had hoped. The cocktail hour was smooth and relaxed, and our guests loved being able to use the patio in the beautiful weather, while we took advantage of the emptied ceremony space for our family pictures. Alyssa was an invaluable asset. She was so vibrant and fun, and clearly loved her job. She made the reception so easy for us, and took the care to touch base with us regularly to make sure that we were happy with how everything was going. Similarly Chloe was so very caring and attentive, the appreciation of her from our parents was unanimous. It seemed like every time we turned around she was there with a fresh drink, or a plate of hors d'ouevres, making sure that we took the time to enjoy our reception for ourselves. She even packaged up some of the petit pastries for us to take home, realizing that we hadn't taken a moment to have any.

The food was outstanding. The hors d'ouevres were fresh, vibrant, and delicious and really set the tone for the evening. The salad was interesting, and full of great flavours that balanced well together while standing out on their own. The main course was everything we wanted and more. The steak was cooked and seasoned beautifully, the asparagus was fresh and the perfect level of crispiness, and the potatoes were just firm enough, and seasoned so well. We received nothing but positive comments on the vegetarian selection as well. We would like to extend a commendation to the kitchen for ensuring that our guest with a severe dairy allergy was comfortable and well fed. My mom spoke with the kitchen manager who ensured that our guest's plate was handled extra carefully.

We seriously could not have asked for a better, more smooth, or organized day. You all made it stress free and easy, as well as memorable and fun for everyone involved.

The whole process was amazing! From the beginning meeting to the wedding day, I knew exactly what was going on the entire time. I knew when I needed to talk to what vendors and I didn't have to worry about coordinating with everyone as Waterview did that for me. It truly helped me to not feel stressed and feel excited about planning and leading up to our wedding day! The day of the wedding was nothing less than perfect. The staff was amazing. All of my guests were extremely impressed with how they were treated. Even when some of my guests got there extremely early, they were treated with kindness and attentiveness. We got married at Waterview Loft April 6 2019, our ceremony and reception were breath-taking, we have received so many wonderful comments from all our guests. We would not change anything about the day! Staff was very responsive to all our needs, this venue made our wedding day dream come true!!! Highly recommend.

We had our wedding here on 12/29/18 and it was absolutely amazing. Anna was a pleasure to work with and was incredibly helpful as our wedding coordinator. She was always available and aways helped me with whatever I needed.

The included vendors were also incredible, it was so nice not having to worry about any of the coordination on the day of our wedding.

On the day of our wedding, everything was absolutely breathtaking, it was so cool to see everything come to life after months of planning. Our guests were raving about the food and the view, both of which were top notch.

The service was also awesome. As someone who worked in the service industry for a number of years, there is good service and there is above and beyond service and that is what we received. Our VIP server, Jazlyn, made sure that we always had a drink in our hand and brought us cake and glow stick necklaces. She made it her mission to make sure we had a blast.

If I had to go back and re-plan my wedding, I would choose WVL again, hands down!

We worked with Anna for the majority of our planning, and she was so responsive, helpful, and professional. Everyone was incredibly accommodating with our schedule and the times we were in town. On our wedding day, everything was perfect! The food was absolutely delicious, the service was impeccable, and the staff was incredibly friendly. A month later I am still getting calls and texts nearly every day from friends and family about how this was the best wedding they had ever been to. I cannot recommend WVL enough!

One of the main reasons we chose Waterview Loft for our wedding was from hearing and reading about how wonderful the food and service was. So, we had high expectations going in but the staff and venue totally blew us away!
We were planning from 700 miles away and wanted to get married on the water but after touring several venues, we fell in love with WVL and having almost everything be included worked wonderfully since we were planning from afar.
Everyone we worked with was extremely accommodating and you could just tell that they wanted to give us the best experience possible and do everything they could to make our vision a reality. Our main goal was to have a great party and give our guests a wonderful experience and we definitely did that with their help and hard work. The Detroit riverfront location provides a stunning and picturesque backdrop, the layout of the building provides a comfortable flow for guests, and the food is outstanding. All of these details helped to make my wedding fantastic, but it is the people that truly need to be called out. When planning a wedding you encounter many people - but it was the service I was provided by EVERYONE at Waterview that left a lasting impression. Our coordinator was absolutely phenomenal - she was always eager to help, answer questions, and provide suggestions during the planning process; always with a contagious positivity. On the day of our wedding, every individual on staff went out of their way to not only congratulate us, but also our parents. They were beyond attentive, and treated all of our guests like family. Throughout the evening, our guests were commenting on the superior level of service they had received. A beautiful view and classic decor are wonderful, but the experience and personal touches are what people remember. Those are the aspects of a wedding day that live in your memory. I am happy to wholeheartedly recommend Waterview Lofts.

We loved the idea of an "all-inclusive" venue. We were able to book the ceremony, reception, DJ, floral design and bakery with a one-stop contract. Melanie secured all the above-mentioned vendors and my daughter and I get to do all the planning. What a GREAT way to check off so many of the important elements at once!

We just got married at Waterview on November 14 and it was amazing! From day one Lindsey worked with us to make sure everything was the way we wanted it. They handled hiring your DJ (who was amazing!) the cake (which tasted great!) and the decor (which was beautiful!). It really took the stress out of finding these vendors and dealing with those contracts! On the day of the wedding Corey and Jordan were amazing. They made sure everything went without a hitch! Corey was right there at all times to make sure I had any and everything I needed throughout the night, she was amazing. The food was amazing and plenty of it. Received nothing but complements from all the guests on how beautiful the venue was, how on point the service was, and how amazing the food tasted. Could not have been happier with a venue or its staff on our big day!

We had our wedding reception at the lofts a few weeks ago. Blew away all of our expectations. Beautiful venue and the service was impeccable day of. Our day was perfect and stress free.

I had never heard of the Waterview Loft but as soon as I saw photos I knew it was the perfect venue for our wedding. We wanted to have something cool and new and we would only look in downtown Detroit. This ticked off every single box on our check list. We signed the contract as soon as we saw it in person. We had a few hiccups in the early stages of planning but the team really worked together and with us to make sure everything would be perfect on the day of... and it was perfect! The venue really speaks for itself. Our guests walked in and were blown away to be in such a cool and different space. Thankfully the weather cooperated with us and we had complete use of the patio for our guests to really spread out during cocktail hour and the party. We only used the upstairs for dinner but the mix of the flowers and the exceptional staff at the facility turned that room into a dream. The food was outstanding, our guests were stopping me to tell me how delicious everything was. Any time I needed anything, any one of the 40 staff members were nearby with their radios and could radio to the right person to answer my questions. The longest I had to wait for a response was about 30 seconds. They were so attentive to our needs as bride and groom and in tune with what all of the guests wanted and needed. They even remembered details that I had forgotten we talked about during planning. Not a day has gone by that someone hasn't called to tell me how perfect the wedding was, how much they loved Waterview Loft, and how they hoped to be there for a future event. Our wedding day would have been perfect regardless because we were marrying each other but it was definitely enhanced by the perfect venue for us and the amazing staff who turned our dreams into a reality. I will be praising Jackie and Dawn for the rest of my life!

The Waterview Loft is a dream place to have your wedding. We only used it for the reception--downstairs was the cocktail hour, dinner upstairs and then more drinks and dancing downstairs. All of our guests could not believe how nice it was. The service was outstanding--no one went without a drink or food for too long. The food options were delicious. They assign you a coordinator to help keep things moving and with the decision making process. I had Dawn and she was fantastic. So much so, I'd be her friend. They opened up the patio and guests were able to be outside and had a beautiful view of the river. Don't look anywhere else--this is the place to go.

From the first moment my fiancé and I visited the Waterview Loft, we knew we had to have our wedding there. Dawn was assigned to us as our wedding coordinator and she was incredibly responsive, gave us prompt information, and was patient with all of our questions and tedious requests. Dawn worked with us through special requests and satisfied all of our wants. This venue has an all-inclusive package that includes the ceremony site, reception site, day of wedding planner, wedding coordinator throughout the whole process, caterer, DJ, flowers and decor all in one price - I told them my colors and vision and they do all the work!

The VIEW and modern elegance this venue has to offer is worth the price. It overlooks the Detroit River and Canada. You can see the International Bridge and view boats up and down the river and there are endless amounts of wedding picture ideas in the area.

Dawn kept me in the loop every step of the way on design, ideas, process, next steps, and prices. She is very knowledgeable, responsive, professional, and detail-oriented, which put me at ease throughout the whole process.

Dawn Baldini and the Waterview Loft were great to work with. Our wedding was beautiful and we heard from many guests that it was the best wedding ever. The loft was very gracious and accommodating of our many and unique requests. The food was absolutely outstanding. The strolling dinner worked well for us and the menu is beyond compare. The staff at the loft was great they were well prepared and professional to perfection. Dawn was easy to get a hold of at all times and made sure that our expectations were met. When we planned our event at Waterview Loft we thought the highlight of the trip would be the views of the Detroit River and access to the Detroit Riverwalk. The water and the views were fantastic, but the highlight was the venue itself and the staff. The levels of professionalism and hospitality far exceeded our very high expectations.

We just got married last night and our reception was at the waterview loft. We had 170 guests and it went absolutely flawless. My phone has been blowing up with friends and family.saying it was the best wedding they have ever attended. The level of service was unreal. Jackie and Dawn ran the show like a well oiled machine. We had our perfect wedding reception at this new - amazing - venue. I couldn't have asked for more. They exceeded our expectations! If you want to have a unique wedding reception in downtown Detroit look no further. Its a new hidden gem!
- The venue speaks for itself - the water, the balcony, the view. Our pictures are amazing because the natural light from the day was coming through the windows during toasts. For the "anniversary" dances, the sun was setting and when the dancing really kicked in - it was nighttime with candles everywhere.
- The food was fabulous. Everyone loved our strolling menu. Get the "Darkest Hour"! People will flip out! We ordered late night food for our guests. I saw the staff carrying food out to the dance floor so people could keep dancing while eating!
- The staff - I am still hearing about how polite, funny and friendly the staff was. I've never heard anyone speak about the staff at a wedding and two weeks later - it is still a topic of conversation
- Sales/Event Managers - LOVE. So helpful and patient. Kept me at ease during the months leading up to our wedding reception.

I loved our wedding reception. It was a fantastic party and I would not change a thing!




- Accommodations - All of our out of town guests stayed at the Marriott in the Ren Cen so there was no driving needed.

Stunning venue! We were blown away with the whole staff leafing up to the wedding and the day of! Everyone was so helpful and a laws making sure everything was running smoothly and the way we wanted! The actual venue is breathtaking and hit a home run with our guests! Our wedding is still being talked about! I don't even know where to begin with the WaterView Loft… they were absolutely AMAZING!!! From our initial meeting with Lindsey and Anna, to meeting with our cake, floral/decor, and DJ vendors, the officiant, and the day of coordinator, everyone worked seamlessly! The level of communication and professionalism is beyond anything we ever expected. The entire day went by without any issues, which is extremely unheard of, especially when we know how much goes into planning a wedding. Overall, my husband and I felt we had a very stress-free wedding planning experience because the WVL takes care of everything (as we say, the devil is in the details). We had many of our guests and even our photographers tell us that this was the best wedding they have ever attended and they truly felt special being there. Finally, a special shout out to our girl Jazzy! She was the best surprise and exceeded our expectations. She was our runner for the night, and she did a FANTASTIC job ensuring we were taken care of and that we always had a drink in our hand so we didn't have to spend any precious moments at the bar- which by the way NEVER had a line. Overall, you will not find a better place that will take your visions and actually apply them into a fairy-tale wedding.

We held our wedding on December 29, 2015 at the WaterView Loft (WVL) and couldn’t have been happier. Probably the stand out was coordination by Alison. She helped us make modifications as the date approached, printed draft versions of our favor bags to make sure the picture looked right, and put us to ease with her attention. During the day of the wedding Alison kept everything on schedule (as much as guests allowed) and was very responsive to last minute emails the morning of the wedding - we had no need for a wedding planner.

All of the staff at the WVL were friendly and helpful. Our guests all commented on how pleasant everyone was, from the valet to the coat check to the bar and wait staff. The staff were great at managing the guests during transition from ceremony to reception and throughout the night. Jazlyn, our VIP server, took amazing care of us and our family. We were never waiting for anything!

The vendors contracted through WVL are spectacular. Furthermore, the summer tasting was a great way to make final changes to the menu and experience the DJ. Pro DJ was incredibly professional and helped us with face to face and email consultations / follow-up. Emerald City Designs did a great job, everyone commented on how beautiful the reception looked. The food and cake were amazing!!!

Even though we haven’t received our professional photos yet everyone is commenting on the city view from the windows in our friends’ photographs. Having an iconic downtown location was really important to us and WVL provided just that!

Everything went according to plan, and if we had to do it all over again we would absolutely use the WaterView Loft.

Waterview Loft is an excellent venue! It is not a cheap place to have a wedding, but I really do believe that you get what you pay for - and we really felt it was well worth it!

The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, the food is excellent, and the drinks are made well! (I loved that they serve bottled beer rather than draft beer). The day of our wedding, they had 16 waitstaff, 3 parking attendants and 3 bartenders - for only 150 guests! We had a plated dinner (filet and coriander chicken duet), and tables were served nearly simultaneously.

No one was ever waiting for a drink. We had an amazing waitress assigned to our bridal party, and as soon as I set a drink down, she was bringing me another one before I even asked!

The team is really great in coordinating and helping with planning. I really felt that they cared and that our wedding wasn’t “just another wedding” or a dollar sign to them.

Like many brides, I changed my mind a lot (sometimes at the last minute) and asked a thousand questions. Lindsey was a lifesaver - she never seemed annoyed and was very quick to respond by email or phone. Both Lindsey and Michelle were also very professional in how they dealt with family members who asked for information we preferred not to share, or who tried to make changes we wouldn’t approve of - saving us from a ton of family drama!

As an out of state bride, it was awesome not having to find or meet with tons of different vendors! The package we had included DJ services and an allotted amount for a cake and floral or decor. We ended up exceeding the amount for the cake and the floral; but the amount included with the package definitely helps.

They offer a lot of per-guest add-ons that are a nice touch. We added passed hors d’Oeuvres, passed petite pastry desserts, two craft beers in addition to the domestics, late-night sliders, and valet parking. In the end, we really felt that our wedding was unique, which was what we wanted most.

Waterview Loft at Port Detroit was the venue for a gala fundraiser to benefit The Water Access Volunteer Effort (WAVE) Fund. Dawn Baldini was our event coordinator/contract manager for the two months or so leading up to the event. Dawn was very professional, responsive and very flexible in regards to changes and/or requests for the event. She is on top of all details and thorough with the planning. I am thankful to have had such a pleasant person to work with. On the day of the event, Nina was assigned as the 'day-of' event liaison for the Port Detroit Staff and was also an absolute pleasure and very easy to work with. With Dawn and Nina handling the event, I knew that I was in great hands which relieved me of worry and stress concerning the event. On the night of the event, the entire staff was pleasant, professional and extremely helpful. A great evening was made even better thanks to the Waterview Port Authority staff.

We had our wedding here in early October and it was so refreshing to be able to host it at a newer venue in Detroit where most of the local guests hadn't been before. The staff was awesome and a really well-oiled machine, every time I turned around I had a refreshed drink waiting for me, and that not only went for me, but for my entire extended family as well. Everyone couldn't get over how attentive the service was (servers, bartenders, etc). They went above and beyond to make sure people were happy and having a good time.
I also really liked having almost all of the services provided through the venue, it just made planning a wedding out of state so much easier. I guess a con would be that you don't really get to price out how much each individual thing costs, but honestly, the convenience of just sending a check and having them figure it all out was worth it to me. The vendors they work with were awesome as well, everyone was incredibly on top of things and genuinely seemed so excited to work with us. Nicole from Emerald City Designs was amazing, she really listened to what elements were important to us, she had such great ideas, nailed it on everything, and her enthusiasm was so sincere and contagious. And at the wedding, Austin, the DJ, was just so likable and fun, he did a great job. I can't thank the team of Lindsey, Michelle and Jazlyn enough for everything they did in terms of planning and executing the day. Planning a wedding out of state isn't the easiest thing to do and they really made the entire experience virtually stress-free. I look forward to attending many other events at this fantastic venue when I'm not the bride and I can take in the ambiance and details of the venue even more! -Amy & Vince

This venue was absolutely amazing, gorgeous and easy to plan. They make planning simple and illuminate stress up to your big day. Food is 5 star for sure. Only compliant I had was that a lot of our steaks were under cooked and the organization of things that I brought to the venue were poorly packaged and some charger plates were broken. Not the end of the world! People are still talking about how beautiful our wedding was!

About the staff at Waterview, the preparation and level of service on your wedding day is superb. We were able to be a worry free bride and groom. Lindsey, Michelle, Jackie, and Beth went above and beyond any expectations. Every time there was a need or a chance for concern they were there willing to assist or take care of it.

Waterview Loft says they work with top vendors and this is true. We had Emerald City Designs for decorations and flowers. Nichole did a wonderful job with my vision and theme. Baked Impressions provided the cake as pictured with four delicious moist unique flavors to choose from. And Bryan at Bee Entertainment was a wonderful DJ work work with.

The full service all inclusive wedding package the Watreview Loft provides is worth every penny. We were able plan and have a beautiful wedding within 3 months without any stress. All due to the Watreview Loft staff and vendors. You cannot beat the venue offering. The location, views, and ambiance makes for a beautiful setting any time of the year.

Waterview Loft delivered an absolutely amazing event! The service and food were probably the most notable features! Leading up to the wedding, we worked with a coordinator (Lindsey) who was responsive, helpful and enthusiastic. At the event itself, the service was so amazing that several guests commented it was better than any other event they had attended. The lack of flexibility noted above can be taken as a good or a bad! For us, it was primarily positive, in that we didn't want to do a lot of searching for vendors. The food, decor, floral, cake/dessert, DJ, etc. were all pre-selected vendors. We opted for a band instead (The Killer Flamingos) of the DJ and we brought in a photographer that wasn't on their preferred list, which did incur a fee. They let us change pairing to build our own duet plate, etc. The only place where flexibility lacked was in some of the packages (what was included/what wasn't). Highly recommend Waterview Loft if you're comfortable with working within packages and you don't want to bring in a ton of your own vendors.

My husband and I were married here on 6/28/14 with 150 guests in attendance. Our day was wonderful and our guests are still raving about how beautiful the venue was, how tasty the food was, and how marvelous the service was. The preferred vendors associated with this venue (Emerald City Designs, Baked Impressions, Elysium Experience) all exceed expectations and worked impressively well together to coordinate all services smoothly.
The venue itself is stunning; complete with new modern carpet and paint, nicely updated bathrooms, and surreal views of the riverfront. We found the facilities to be very clean and well maintained. The service team that ran the show on the day of was amazing and largely responsible for the success of our event. The bar and service staff were very quick and efficient, and appeared just outright happy to be there. Jackie was the operations manager responsible for our day (w one other whose name I forget now). These two were very attentive and communicated well to orchestrate all the vendors.
I deducted 'stars' from this review due to the experiences I had while planning. While all the management/ coordination staff were very nice and eager to please, the communication and organization of the team was lacking. We were originally assigned a coordinator named Christy, who then was fired/disappeared. Then had a second Kathy who was a manager just subbing as my coordinator, then finally Dawn. During this shuffle we actually hired an outside planner to help us. Poor Dawn was in the difficult position of having to deal with all the impossible promises the first coordinator had made (byob rules, rehearsal times, several prices). On the day of several details that had been discussed at length went awry leading me to believe communication between the many "coordinators" was flawed.

Despite the challenges I cannot express how kind the people were (especially Dawn), and how beautiful this place is. We would recommend this venue and it's team.

Pound for pound they were real good. For my money it doesn't get any better than the waterview review.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Waterview Loft at Port Detroit. Let me start by saying the day ended up being AMAZING. However, the planning process was an absolute nightmare. We were made a lot of false promises, responsiveness was typically slow and we were told we CAN'T do a lot of things we had wanted. If we had not hired independent wedding planners, I cannot say the event would have been successful. Also, this venue is a little bit "shady" with their pricing. They will not give a break down of what everything costs and truthfully I think we overpaid... but, the venue is gorgeous and in a premiere location so it makes sense.

The Day Of : again, was amazing. The service staff working at this venue was better than great and everyone had a fantastic time. I hope this new venue works out the kinks in management to make the planning process easier for couples coming in.

This venue as it is very unique and the service staff was outstanding. Just be prepared for the headaches dealing with management.
