We absolutely LOVED working with the Water’s Edge team! Harper was our coordinator and was on top of everything (the day of we also had a couple other ladies helping Harper and apologize for not remembering their names but you know who you are!). From helping with last minute target runs, to set up (they literally took boxes of things and got EVERYTHING set up for us), to clean/pack up. They were always on top of everything. So thank you all of you ladies for making our day so perfect!
The venue being all inclusive and the planning process being already laid out was the best case scenario for us as we live out of state. From the food to the cake to the florals, to the DJ, they all killed it. Everything came together so beautifully and my husband and I had such an incredible night. -

We had a wonderful experience organizing our wedding at Lakeview. We looked at several of the highest rated all inclusive venues in the Columbus area and ultimately decided on Lakeview for the versatile indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces with a beautiful reception area. Lakeview has a cozy, rustic, and elegant setting, and this is one of the more affordable places for an all inclusive venue. It was 20K cheaper than a similar venue we toured. Alexa helped us plan the event. She coordinated the decorations, florals, cake, catering, DJ, and bar. She was easy to reach, answered all of our questions quickly, and made sure everything ran as smooth as possible. There are different packages you can choose, and we added the photo booth where they hung up a sequin curtain backdrop and the photos of guests are stored online and shared after the wedding. We also added the cigar bar which our family and friends really enjoyed. Matt was our DJ and he did such a great job helping us prepare our playlist and organized the shoe game for us during the reception. We opted for an open bar, which our guests loved. The caterer, Gourmet Fresh, prepared an elegant and delicious meal including three appetizers, a salad, and an entrée preselected by our guests. We were allowed to sample and approve the food beforehand, and everything tasted great. Fiori Florals created the perfect combination of colors in the flowers. Our cake by Alice's Piece of Cake was beautiful and delicious. The only vendors we were responsible for coordinating included our photographer (Hailey Lauren Photography), officiant (John Stuber at Columbus Wedding Officiants), macaron baker (Anne Made Sweets), and group transportation (Cardinal Transportation Ltd). I gave Alexa the information of the added vendors and she made sure everything was tied together for the big day. Alexa and my officiant helped me organize the rehearsal the day before which made everything so much easier. After the ceremony, the staff helped us clean up and box everything. On the day of our wedding, I was very worried because I wanted to have the ceremony outside, and the weather was showing a lot of intermittent storms. Alexa watched the weather all day, and somehow she was able to prepare the ceremony outside between heavy showers. Despite the bad weather, everything turned out wonderful. One of the best things about this venue is that it has beautiful options inside and outside for the ceremony in case of rain. And it's so nice to have the reception at the same location as the ceremony. I really loved the spacious area for the girls dressing room downstairs. There is also a nice loft area for the guys to enjoy upstairs. We did not do a first look, so having separate areas for the guys and girls worked out perfect. There was a lot of space outside for parking and we had enough room to park our bus for group transportation to and from the venue for the evening. The staff here all are professional, kind, and courteous. I couldn't have had a easier wedding day, and I am so grateful to all the staff at Lakeview for celebrating with us and making our day perfect. -

From the start, watersedge was welcoming and helpful with all aspects of our wedding. I couldn’t imagine a more perfect day, the venue handed everything so the day was flawless. I wouldn’t go anywhere else, unless it’s one of their sister venues! Staff was amazing!! In-house florals were amazing! -

Being a bride during a pandemic was not high on my list of things to do, but it still happened. I am so unbelievably grateful to have booked with a venue as established and prepared as Watersedge during a time where so many things were up in the air. I never felt flustered with them, I never questioned anything. This team checked on me, laughed with me, encouraged me, and reminded me what the wedding was all about regularly. My parents helped with a lot of the wedding and the fact that all the vendors were included in a simple to read payment system, it took a huge weight off my chest and I never had to worry about forgetting anything. Not to mention, just the people. Between Kayla and Hannah and Joanna we were crying laughing at meetings, and going over our time by like...a lot just because we enjoyed hanging out with them so much. What I didn't know I needed during my wedding planning was the stability, guidance, and community that Watersedge provides. They walk you through every step and TRUST me that makes a huge difference. I even had a couple catastrophic moments (no batteries for roughly 80 flameless candles) that I never even found out about until my mom told me later. They just handled it and I didn't even miss a beat. If you want your dream wedding, but you crave organization..this is your venue. Not to mention it's gorgeous, warm, still upscale but very inviting. Trust me, and message them. Tour the venue and see for yourself. -

Simply the best venue in the Columbus area!
WatersEdge helped make our wedding day the BEST day of our lives! Planning can be stressful enough, but WatersEdge is a one stop shop. With not being from the area, I did not know which vendors I would use for flowers, food, DJ, etc- so when I found out that WatersEdge contracted everything for you, I was sold! There was no extra stress with having to find quotes and contact different vendors- they had all the best vendors picked out for you already. Along with that - Kayla, was our personal wedding planner at WatersEdge and she did it all! She was always there to offer advice and answer questions. She also made life easy by having us drop off the decorations and she decorated the entire venue for us! We met one time to go over where I wanted things to be and she nailed it. She made everything so simple and easy, in a not so simple time. Not only was the process a breeze, but the venue itself is gorgeous! It is overlooking a beautiful pond and has such great greenery for pictures. I can't say enough great things about WatersEdge - it was simply the best decision we made for our special day. -

We just had our wedding at WatersEdge about a week ago and it was nothing but amazing. We have received so many compliments on how nice the ceremony and reception was and how great the food was! Kayla was awesome with helping us through our rehearsal and day of the wedding in coordinating when everyone was to walk out to the pergola by the pond. She also helped us take down our decorations at the end to save us some time. DJ Patrick was also great on keeping us on time and making sure we do all of the special dances and speeches we wanted. We did a nontraditional wedding song for the ceremony and I was worried about how the timing would work out and he was able to time it up perfectly so the end of the song was right as I reached the aisle way. We did the buffet option for food. Everything was amazing and we were able to take home the leftovers which was really nice for the next day when we were all tired and didn't want to cook! WatersEdge is a great venue, they made everything with planning super easy, I would recommend it in a heartbeat. -

Kearsten Sent on 09/29/2018My husband and I had such a wonderful experience over the last several months with WatersEdge, while prepping for our wedding that was on 9/9/18. I do not have enough kind words to express Kayla’s promptness, generosity, tune to detail, and how much she did to ensure that everything would be taken care of, and taken care of exactly how we wanted it. I asked her about a thousand questions over the months and she always was sooo informative, prompt and pleasant when answering them. We also absolutely loved our DJ Patrick! He was so great, and made sure all of the must-have songs we wanted were included in our reception. He also made sure the correct versions were obtained, and always made himself available for questions. The facility is gorgeous on its own, but they absolutely outdid themselves on our actual wedding day. We are so impressed in every way! It ended up raining all weekend for our wedding and we were supposed to have an outdoor ceremony. Kayla and the team made our inside ceremony just as beautiful and we received so many compliments from our guests about the ceremony y decorations and the kindness of the WatersEdge staff. If you are looking for a venue for your special day, definitely take WatersEdge into consideration. They made our experience such a wonderful and memorable one!
Also, WatersEdge is an all inclusive venue, but if there are certain vendors you’d prefer (like if you’ve had personal exerperince with one and prefer them), the team is more than accommodating to allow you to use who you want. They just want to do whatever to make your day special!
Also, if you have the same guest count as me that doesn’t mean your wedding will cost the same. There are so many different packages you can choose to make your wedding day unique to you! :) -

The fact that all of the major parts of your wedding day are included, Dinner, Cake/Dessert, Flowers, DJ, Staff to make things go off without a hitch, chairs and set-up crew for an outdoor wedding and indoor ceremony if you choose, the amazing space, and so much more, no other venue could beat it. From communication all the way through the planning process, every email answered, and all of the extremely kind people, we felt truly fortunate and cared for, to have the celebration of our union and covenant with God established, at this location! WE WOULD TELL YOU, STOP LOOKING WHEN YOU FIND AN OPEN DATE AT WATERSEDGE! It will be the best decision in your wedding planning process to book here. I can't say enough good and positive things about WatersEdge! When you book, you will work with Kayla, and she will make you feel at home at take such good care of you, she's truly wonderful!!! Thank you guys so much for making our wedding day, storybook-perfect!!

From the first meeting to the final touch, the staff at WatersEdge was incredible. Kayla and Jenn were two of the most professional, responsive and accommodating individuals we had the pleasure of working with throughout the entire wedding planning process. The facility is gorgeous, boasting beautiful views of the lake in natural light. The brunch menu was INCREDIBLE and we still have compliments rolling in from our guests (especially from the waffle bar, and the bacon :)) Every question was met with a prompt answer, and every idea was turned into a beautiful reality by the staff. The process couldn't have been easier, and our day would not have been as special as it was without WatersEdge, Jenn & Kayla. -

When we had our first visit we were hooked, the huge fireplace in the center of the room and the lodge feel was exactly what we wanted. We had our ceremony outside next to the pond and it was beautiful! I can't thank Watersedge enough for making our day so amazing! -

Alexa Sent on 08/13/2018Kayla was a lifesaver on the day of our wedding! She helped make sure everything ran smoothly. Throughout the planning process, Kayla and Joanna were both very responsive and you can tell they really want to help make each wedding held there as special as possible! They have so much knowledge about the venue and were able to make great recommensations about decor and timeline based on their experiences. They were incredibly accommodating for Kosher meals as well.
The DJ, Patrick Watkins, was also fantastic! We had a Sunday wedding but he helped keep the party in full swing until the very last song ended. All of our guests commented about how great the DJ was!
The only downfall with this venue was working with their in-house florist and in-house cake baker. We opted not to work with the baker, Cindy. From our first interaction, she was incredibly rude and unaccommodating. I have a serious peanut allergy, as did a number of our guests. I was told when I first booked at Watersdge that this wouldn't be a problem for her and she was very accommodating. This was not the case. She make it very clear, in a very rude way, that she was not interested in making any accommodations for any allergies or dietary restrictions, and it was basically our problem if we didn't like it. I have hear from others that this type of attitude is not uncommon for her. We ended up finding an outside baker who was wonderful and everything worked out, but dealing with Cindy was very stressful.
As part of their package, you receive a floral centerpiece prepared by their in-house florist, Gayle. We chose to work with Gayle for all of our floral needs. On the day of, most everything was beautiful! The bouquets were pretty, they just weren't at all what I imagined and they didn't really go with our vision. Her communication through the planning process was lacking and working with her was very stressful! The end result was good, but getting there was very difficult! -

The ceremony and reception are all in once place, with a few different choices for your ceremony, so it makes it easy for guests who are traveling from out of town. There are also a few hotels within a couple of miles and Homewood will let your guests stay in the lobby all night and mingle, which worked out well for our huge families wanting to get together throughout the wedding weekend. The best feature of this venue (and I went to over 20 venues in Columbus) is what's included for the price. Your DJ, cake, centerpieces, food, and on-site coordinator are not only convenient for your wallet, it's convenient if you are planning your own wedding! I was busy enough meeting with each one throughout the planning process, and couldn't imagine what it would have been like to research and hire all of those other vendors. Plus, being included for your prices helps you stay within your budget from the very start.
The venue itself is beautiful, with a new wooden dance floor, shiny bar, and lovely fireplace. The deck is perfect for having cocktail hour over the lake, or simply to get some fresh air the night of your wedding. Our food was delicious, despite the poorly tasting food we were given at our "included" open house. I think they try to give you the cheaper food on this menu, and my entire family was disappointed with what we tried. We then had to pay $50 for a private tasting, however we were able to select a few choices from their menu, and loved what we tried. The food was fresh and just as delicious come our wedding day, and the bartender and staff were friendly and professional. Shirly had two long meetings with me before I was able to pick out my centerpieces, and she did a great job! My only disappointment besides the open house would be lack of clear communication in the beginning, but just ask for Jennifer and she will take care of you! -

I debated on a review because I really had mixed feelings about my experience. It's been a couple of years since our wedding but since talking with others who have also used this venue and had the same concerns, I felt obligated to share my personal experience.
Pros:
This venue is simple beautiful. It was exactly what we were looking for in terms or a cozy yet rustic feel. Having it all exclusive was also a huge bonus. Being the first to get married in my family, we obviously weren't sure the ins and outs of what we were getting into with wedding planning so it was helpful to have a coordinator to guide us through it.
The food was FABULOUS which was really important to us. We went with the stations and it was more food than we could have imagined. The bartenders were also great and made the drinks well worth the fee of the open bar. The cake being included was also a huge help and the DJ was also great.
Cons:
A couple of things bothered me about this venue starting with "everything is included". Yes, everything is included but on a very minimum level. They get you to commit to the venue before disclosing that pretty much everything that isn't the most basic looks are an up-charge. Example, from my understanding all of the flowers were included. But once we signed the contract and got into the planning, we found out that only the centerpiece flowers were included. Everything that was shown in pictures (furniture, fireplace decor, certain lighting, greenery and flowers) were not included in the fee and needed to be paid out of pocket. Our wedding was very simple and we did not do a lot of these out of pocket choices and we still paid an extra $5-10k on top to make it more or less ours.
The other thing that really bothered me was the fact that getting ready there is not an option unless you pay extra. We ended up getting a hotel room to get ready in after finding out that you can't get inside until an hour before the wedding. I was frustrated because one of our groomsmen arrived for pictures 15 min before we were technically allowed inside and he wanted to change in the bathroom quickly since he had come from a distance away and they refused to let him in for 2 min since we had not paid for early arrival. I understand that boundaries are needed to prevent people from taking advantage but this was absolutely ridiculous.
Lastly, at the end of the night my mom had left her shoes there so in the morning when we went to pick up her car, we went to also grab her shoes and they had been literally thrown outside into the parking lot. Maybe I'm being sensitive, but I thought it was very unprofessional.
Overall the wedding experience here was good. I just recommend really knowing what you're getting into before being slightly blindsided as we were when it came to what "all inclusive" means.
