Minister Toya is the one!
Where do I even start with Minister Toya? First off, she is hilarious and delightful. I feel she "got" us immediately during our planning call. Everyone I showed her videos to agreed she was the exact vibe for us.
The people choosing her are a beautiful rainbow and she's just the right person for the job for basically anyone. She turned up in an outfit that coordinated with ours and I'll tell you, we looked like movie stars in the preview pics I've seen from the ceremony.
The ceremony itself drew off what we discussed in the planning call and my vows that I had sent her in advance. They were sincere and so very relevant to our shared experiences. I'm still not sure how I survived the ceremony without crying my eyes out. It was that good.
She also turned the license back in for us. We're from out of town and that saved us another trip to the license office. You could have a friend get ordained to perform your ceremony, but they might not fill out the license perfectly and you get an awkward moment when you return it. (Literally saw this when we picked ours up!) She is a true professional while still maintaining the heart of your day.
Our day was perfection and we couldn't have done it without her. If you're even slightly on the fence, I'm telling you she's the one. There's a reason her couples look like they're having the time of their lives at their ceremonies. She is pure joy.

I wish I could get married everyday just to have her in my life lol
LaToya was everything we didn’t even know we needed. Christian and I aren’t the “traditional wedding script” type, and I was terrified of ending up with a generic ceremony where you could swap our names with any couple, and nothing would change. She never once treated us like that. She actually listened, picked up on our quirks, and built something that felt personal and real.
One thing that really stood out to us was that she didn’t just show up for the ceremony. She came to some of our other wedding events too. She didn’t have to do that. But she did. And it made our ceremony feel like it was led by someone who actually knew us, not someone meeting us for the first time five minutes before walking down the aisle.
On the wedding day, she showed up with this calm, grounding energy that instantly made me feel like, “Okay, we’re actually doing this, and it’s going to be fine.” The ceremony was beautiful and intentional, and afterward, so many guests told us how meaningful it felt.
She guided us through the marriage license stuff, kept communication clear, and made the whole process simple instead of stressful. I trusted her completely.
If you want someone warm, present, funny without trying, and genuinely invested in you, choose her. She made our ceremony unforgettable, and we’re very grateful for her.

Extraordinary from Start to Finish!
We're a nontraditional couple that chose to have our destination micro-wedding (26 guests) in New Orleans, and we knew it would be vital to have an officiant that could match our laidback, but intimate energy. We were beyond lucky to find LaToya, and she was a perfect fit from start to finish.
We knew from the first phone call that she was THE officiant for us! She got back to us very quickly after our initial inquiry, was transparent about her pricing, and provided us with templates that helped us consider what we wanted our ceremony to look/feel like.
Our friend streamed and recorded our ceremony on Zoom for distant family to join virtually, and we realized that our ceremony was a total of 12 minutes long. It was 12 minutes of perfection for us, and afterwards SEVERAL of our guests told us they thought LaToya was fantastic. She had a major impact on both us and our guests in a short amount of time. She had all of us laughing, crying, and remaining present for our magical moment at the altar. With the mention of some of our sweetest memories around about how we met, what we enjoy, etc, LaToya created a space of ultimate joy.
Prior to the wedding, we only met via Zoom because we chose not to have a wedding rehearsal, but LaToya showed up for us in the biggest way and brought our ceremony dreams to life. We are eternally grateful.

Our Special Elopement
LaToya is the pinnacle of professionalism. My now husband and I decided to elope in New Orleans, and when searching for an officiant I immediately found Waning Moon Weddings, and I just had a feeling! We had sessions for us to get to know her and get comfortable, as well as her getting to know us. The information she gathered would make it into our very personalized ceremony. Omg, I don't even know where to begin. Latoya is AMAZING. From day one and just following her on social media, I knew she was the one I wanted on my special day. LaToya was/is amazing!
It was super important to us that we had a pre-marital counselor + an officiant combo. She came recommended by our planner because I couldn't really find what I looking for, and ended up checking all of our boxes - local, accessible, affordable, & personable - AND she's funny lol!
During our initial phone call, she mentioned that she understood if we were still looking to which I replied "no mam we are not we want you". This was probably the easiest decision we made during the whole process.
LaToya got to know us, shed light on a few issues + how to deal with them, helped us connect even more, delivered a customized ceremony reading, and kept us abreast to the ever changing guidelines around Covid.

My husband and I decided to plan a last minute 'just the two of us' elopement in New Orleans due to the pandemic placing our original plans on hold. We had the pleasure of having LaToya officiate our destination wedding in New Orleans. She was referred to us by another amazing vendor, and so I knew she would be awesome. The BEST officiant we could have asked for!
LaToya was AMAZING. I knew from the moment we met her and she put on Anita Baker that it was meant to be! She took the time to really get to know us as a couple and that effort was clearly reflected throughout her ceremony script, which she was kind enough to share with us about a month before the ceremony in case we wanted her to make revisions. She made the ceremony personal and funny, while still honoring our wishes to keep it God-centered. She provided suggestions for every aspect of the ceremony - including poems, readings, and Bible verses - allowing us to customize the script to our tastes. My guests are still raving about the wedding and many of them specifically noted how good the officiant was. We loved working with LaToya and would highly recommend her to any couple that's looking for an officiant to bring warmth, love, and joy to their ceremony!

We were so lucky we found her!
My husband and I tend to be last minute for pretty much everything, so naturally, we dedicated an entire week to planning our wedding. Truthfully, we embraced it and wouldn't have it any other way :) I found LaToya on wedding wire, looked through some of the other reviewers photos, and just had a feeling about her! We contacted her three days before our wedding (did I mention we were last minute?), worked out the details (we had to move around the time of our ceremony which wasn't an issue), and she came through for us! We chose to do the simple elopement and it was perfect! She said all the right things! All things considered, we were so lucky we found her! I recommend her 1000 percent!

Our experience with Waning Moon Weddings was excellent. We initially wanted some one close to the family to be the officiant for our wedding but didn't want to jump through all the hoops of figuring out how since we were planning our own. After some research, we stumbled upon this jewel. We knew from day one that she would be great for us. We spoke a few times via skype, phone, text messaging (we were coming from out of town) and every single time she just grew on us. By the time the ceremony came around, it was like she was a part of the family. She offered her services and ideas throughout the entire process. Even walked us through getting our marriage license taken care of. Gave us SEVERAL different options to choose from as far as the type of ceremony we wanted. Perfect elopement in New Orleans!
After months of stop-and-go planning, my partner and I tabled our wedding plans because we quickly realized that we had no desire to plan a traditional wedding and reception. We called vendors, we got quotes, we even visited venues. But still, we knew that planning a wedding for other people wasn’t what we truly wanted. We scrapped our plans for a wedding and decided to elope. Once we decided to elope, we picked a city...NEW ORLEANS! It checked all the boxes for us: food! cool tours! history! great music! We happened to find LaToya after googling vendors in Louisiana and everything else fell into place. We initially contacted LaToya in April 2019 to start the process for our May 2019 elopement. In the month that we worked with her, LaToya was responsive to emails, texts and calls and we were able to quickly schedule our initial consultation and a follow-up planning meeting. Her survey asked very thoughtful questions about us as a couple, helped her get to know us and set the tone for the type of ceremony we wanted. Heartfelt ceremony
My husband and I loved working with LaToya. She positively radiates joy and support. It was important for us to have an officiant who would hear our story, hold on to it, and share in our joy. She did exactly that. I was a bit nervous because, due to my schedule, we had to meet 7 months before our wedding to talk about our ceremony. But when she sent us our script before the wedding we were so pleased. and on the day of her joy was palpable! We had a little bit of a hiccup in the middle of the ceremony (mine and my husband's fault entirely...haha) and she handled it like a pro - many of the guests hardly noticed :). We also had so many guests asking how we met LaToya and how long we'd been friends! That's a true testament to her lovely presence at our ceremony. You can tell from your first interaction with her that she loves what she does.

When my original wedding ceremony plans fell through, the best twist of fate led me to LaToya of Waning Moon Weddings!!
I adored her from the first moment we spoke, her sincerity and love for what she does shined even through the phone. Latoya was professional, organized and communicated clearly while I planned a secret New Orleans elopement from 1600 miles away.
During our short but oh so sweet ceremony in Pirates Alley, there was laughter and tears from all three of us. Latoya went above and beyond to create a ceremony that reflected us as a couple and made us feel so comfortable and loved! After the ceremony Latoya revealed the most wonderful surprise..the handful of family and friends who knew about our wedding had sent letters of love and support for us to Latoya's office to be read on our wedding day!! And the icing on the cake was Latoya jumping in as the 'grand marshal' of our second line parade, literally ushering us into the newest chapter of our lives!!

LaToya is nothing short of amazing! My (now husband) and I had recently moved to the North Shore and were going at planning our wedding totally blind not knowing what vendors/venues were the "best". I found Waning Moon on "The Knot" and was immediately taken by the pictures from their past events. My husband and I met with LaToya a few weeks before our ceremony (if you can meet in person - do so!!) and knew LaToya was the perfect fit right then and there. She is so personable and really understood what vibe we were aiming for on our big day. Officiant With Heartfelt Deliverance!
From the initial inquiry to the ceremony, Latoya was very professional but also personal! We loved the fact that she had such a diverse clientele and serviced same sex ceremonies, which is what we needed and initially worried about finding! October Wedding 2018 in NOLA
We feel so incredibly lucky that we were able to have LaToya officiate our wedding. This was a destination wedding for us and all of our 150 guests. We had a very close friend scheduled to be in New Orleans with us to officiate, but ended up not being able to travel for personal reasons. My now husband and I were lucky enough to come across Waning Moon Weddings & Ceremonies. We live in New Zealand and wanted to marry in our favourite place on earth, New Orleans. From the beginning, LaToya was very easy to work with and communicated all the details effectively (marriage license procedure, length, samples, cost, etc). Since I was having a destination wedding, she was accommodating and worked around our schedule to meet in person on one of our trips to NOLA where she focused on getting to know us.

We are so happy we asked LaToya to be apart of our wedding. She was so friendly and personable from the get-go and provided us with such helpful examples so we could create the ceremony we wanted. We went to New Orleans to elope, LaToya was responsive on emails and was kind enough to video call us so we could meet prior to the day. Even when we changed the date she was happy to accommodate. On the day she was calm, warm and easygoing. I could not recommend LaToya more!

We contacted Waning Moon after deciding to elope in New Orleans. I was getting overwhelmed, because it was very last minute. Our first conversation with LaToya was less than a week before our ceremony! She assured us that she would be able to accommodate us, which did a lot for my anxiety. She gave us location ideas, recommend a photographer, and let us know the local laws regarding obtaining the marriage license (we’re from New York). The efficiency that they handled us with was great, but what really blew me away was the personalization. Having never been married before, I didn’t know what to expect from a wedding officiant. But LaToya was very interested in getting to know us and our love story. Talking to her gave us a perspective of our relationship that we’d never had, even after 12 years together. When we met at our location (the Tree of Life) ShaCondria, who was our officiant, arrived early and had some time to speak life into our relationship and future and let us feel the gravity of that moment in our generational legacy. It was truly amazing.
In deciding to have a 2 person ceremony, I was expecting something quick, but not necessarily as special as a full on wedding ceremony. My expectations were far exceeded. I would change nothing about my experience, and recommend this to anyone searching for an officiant for that special day.

We had a wonderful experience with LaToya! Everything was absolutely perfect. We had guests caught in traffic due to Mardi Gras and us wait until the last minute and she helped still make our second line. We would highly recommend them to anyone. We first met with Latoya and had a wonderful experience getting to know her. She is warm and easy to engage with and we were immediately at ease. Due to a personal emergency Latoya recommended another officiant, Ellenie, to work with us. Ellenie was calm and also easy to connect to. Our guest said her demeanor was loving and made everyone feel part of the celebration and at ease. She easily incorporated our 5 year old daughter into the ceremony. We have amazing memories of the ceremony which was beautiful. She had created a program that was filled with beautiful quotes and sayings that represent who we are as a couple. We highly recommend Waning Moon Weddings. They are amazing.

Latoya was a phenomenal officiant and went above and beyond to ensure that we had the best ceremony possible. She went so far as to suggest that we do the "tasting of the elements" as a way to make it an interactive experience for all in attendance and she was considerate of our dietary restrictions. LaToya really gave us everything we wanted and dreamed of. My husband and I met with her over a coffee and shared stories and memories. She was incredibly attentive and understanding. The script that she wrote for us was beautiful - incorporating some memories, a passage about marriage equality (which we requested her to), and a few laughs as well. She was always on time and made my husband's and I's wedding day very special.
We contacted her just two weeks before the ceremony, and she had us at ease the entire time. With all the planning that goes into a wedding, couples can sometimes get a little caught up in it all. LaToya's loving and light-hearted presence reminded us that our wedding day was for us to enjoy. Thank you so much.

When we had unforseen issues with our initially booked officient and only 2 weeks before the date, LaToya with Waning Moon Weddings was available to jump in and take over. Thanks to her our ceremony was absolutely wonderful. She allowed us to write not only our vows to each other, but our own quirky ceremony script as well. LaToya then put her own personal touches in, guided us through our knot tying (we opted for a fisherman's knot), and made our moment feel very special. The day just wouldn't have been the same without her, and I'm grateful for her humor, patience (especially when both the bride and groom arrived late), and excitement.

We knew we wanted to work with LaToya the moment we spoke to her. She is relaxed, fun, and carries a big smile on her face -- which goes a LONG way on wedding day! She was a perfect choice and made our ceremony light, romantic, and all about us (rather than some uptight, long-winded affair). Our guests raved about her ("she was a-MA-zing!!"). She also organized a few things for us last-minute, and acted as an unofficial 3rd wedding planner during our ceremony and second line. I'm incredibly particular and would not have chosen anyone else, even in hind sight!
