Walker's Overlook is a hidden gem and was the perfect venue for our October wedding! The ceremony area is absolutely gorgeous and provides an incredible backdrop for photos, while the reception tent offers a cozy, rustic vibe complete with wood floors and string lights. The owners, Mark and David, are the best. They are both super hands-on and were great to communicate with throughout the whole process. Mark checked in on us regularly during the year leading up to our wedding and made sure we knew exactly what to expect on the wedding day. One of the best things about Walker's is that they provide an in-house wedding coordinator, so we didn't need to hire a separate planner. Our coordinator, Tammy, was INCREDIBLE -- she knows the industry inside and out and made our wedding day completely seamless and stress-free. Walker's Overlook truly provided the venue of our dreams and I can't recommend them enough! -

Walker's Overlook was the absolutely perfect place for us to get married. From the very beginning, Mark the owner was very easy to work with, and everything leading up to the day was very organized and seamless. One of the best parts about Walker's is the ownership - they are so flexible and willing to work with you to make the day special and match your vision. Another best part about Walker's is the day of coordinator who is included. Luann was assigned as our day of coordinator and I honestly don't even know where to begin with how amazing Luann was! Though she is technically a day-of coordinator, I leaned on her more than anyone else throughout the entire process. She is extremely responsive over email and was there to answer all of my many, MANY questions. We met with her multiple times and she is truly one of the most organized people I've met. She had every detail figured out so the day went smoothly. She thought of everything, and made sure details I had totally forgotten about did not get overlooked. Luann set everything up on the day of the event, and was running around all day to make sure everything was perfect. We had to pivot multiple times due to the rain (there was a tropical storm that hit right on our wedding day) and Luann/everyone at Walker's was so gracious with us as we changed the rain plan multiple times. Luann even held umbrellas for us when we walked into the tent - she herself was soaked but at least the wedding party was dry! (thank you Luann!) Walker's has someone there, Dave, who monitors the weather using multiple different apps and he is truly an expert. He helped us decide where to do cocktail hour based on weather reports. Everyone at Walker's is so down to earth and easy to work with. It was an amazing venue to have in the rain since there are so many places to take pictures indoors, so my photographer had a field day with it! It's so nice having the entire venue to yourself for the whole day - we did hair and makeup in the mansion and made a whole day of it. Definitely a great way to stretch out the wedding day. Would highly, highly recommend this venue. Thank you to everyone at Walker's for making our day so amazing! -

We are so happy we chose Walker’s for our wedding this weekend! LuAnn and her team were friendly, professional and responsive. There were several features that are apparently not universal in wedding venues. We could leave our car overnight, they were flexibility with when we got there, and we were the only event that day, so we had the whole day. It was a beautiful setting, and our guests enjoyed the day greatly. The venue worked seamlessly with all of our vendors. It was a fantastic day! -

Beautiful Scenery
This was a beautiful venue. The ceremony site was everything I could have imagined for my special day! The house was spacious for the girls to get ready during the day and there was enough space that the guys could come early and you do not have to worry about running into each other. -

Look No Further - this venue is the best!
Bride’s review: When we toured the venue in Fall 2020, we were still in the early planning stages for our wedding. However, as soon as we stepped on the property, we knew this was the place. The ceremony site is picturesque with a large tree and hills as your backdrop, and the tent is a blank canvas that allows you to really personalize your wedding. The original farmhouse is beautiful and includes a bridal suite and game room for the groom/groomsman to hangout and get ready. Mark Lynch, owner of The Overlooks, personally gave us the tour. We felt very comfortable with Mark and how he handled other weddings during the pandemic, which also played a part in our decision.
Our Walkers Overlook wedding coordinator, Kimberly Csajko, was FANTASTIC! I can’t begin to explain how much I appreciate her experience and thoroughness. During the planning phase, she kept us organized, recommended vendors, and was great with communication. Kim also helped us create a list of everything we would need to bring with us (aisle and table decorations, signs, etc.) which helped A LOT with relieving wedding day stress. On our wedding day, she made everything feel so effortless. I was able to focus on getting ready with my mom and bridesmaids because I completely trusted that Kim had the rest under control. The groomsman set up extras, such as our photo booth, but otherwise the Walkers Overlook team handled everything. Kim even drew a sign for us to help tell the story of how we started dating.
Our wedding was beyond what I could have imagined. We are so grateful that we chose Walkers Overlook – the venue is beautiful and the team a class-act. Seriously, look no further.

The Walker's Overlook team helped make our wedding and everything leading up to it feel personal, professional, and low stress. The venue is absolutely beautiful - even on a chilly day in October after crazy rain the day before/overnight. Our coordinator Brittany was so helpful and flexible, very responsive to all of my emails/questions. She even went above and beyond, picking some flower petals right before the ceremony for our flower girls due to some poor planning on our end! Highly recommend! -

After 10 incredible years together, Walker’s Overlook was the perfect setting for my husband and I to finally say “I do”! We researched dozens of wedding venues and ultimately we only needed to tour Walker’s Overlook. I knew as soon as we set foot on the property that it was going to be our wedding venue! We had a few criteria for our venue that we were not willing to compromise on and Walker’s checked off every item on our list! We wanted an outdoor ceremony and reception held in one location with seating and parking for 250 people, to bring our own liquor for the bars, to have two catering companies to serve both Indian and American cuisine, plenty of time to get ready, a cocktail hour plus a 5 hour reception, the venue couldn’t be too far from our home and family in Baltimore, an included rain backup plan was a must, tables, chairs, and tent plus setup were strongly preferred, and we wanted a place with natural beauty and character. Walker’s Overlook also set the bar high by including a day of coordinator who was available to us for nearly two years as we planned the ultimate wedding and party!
Our assigned wedding coordinator, Holly McKenrick, came highly recommended to us by two friends who were married at Walker’s Overlook in 2017. While she was incredibly busy doing the work of atleast two people as she coordinated two years worth of weddings in 2021, she always answered my questions! She was available by text, call, and email, and would always let me know when she was available if I needed more than a quick response. She helped me make sure we had all the crucial details finalized well in advance of our wedding. That being said, everything can’t be perfect, and she helped resolve a significant issue with our linens the day of the wedding. One of our caterers arrived to the venue very late with the linens and didn’t bring all of the linens in our contract. Holly handled all of these issues without me even knowing! She went to their sister property Dulaney’s Overlook and grabbed linens for the sweetheart and cake tables and literally saved the day and the look of our reception! She also brought in additional staff to get the reception tables set quickly since the linens arrived so late. I am so grateful to her and her team for doing this- she
really went above and beyond as our day of coordinator! Even when we were running a bit behind she was positive and collected, which was exactly what we needed. She also made sure to run through a ceremony rehearsal with us at the property the night before the wedding. This rehearsal really helped things go smoothly and helped us feel comfortable and look prepared during our big day. I cannot say enough good things about Holly and her team!
The venue itself is gorgeous and has all the natural charm and character- and then some- that we were hoping for at our wedding. The mansion on the property is over 200 years old and provided a fantastic space for us to get ready! The bridal suite especially was top notch with plenty of light, counters, outlets, chairs, and space for our hair and makeup artists to do their best work! The ceremony site is breathtaking and features a massive walnut tree surrounded by rolling fields- it was the perfect backdrop for our ceremony. The stone patio offered plenty of space for cocktail hour, and the large permanent reception tent with hardwood floors was a fantastic place to hold the reception! Our guests were able to enjoy a beautiful sunset right from their tables, and there was plenty of space for dancing. The reception tent has removable side panels which meant we didn’t need to come up with a plan B if it rained- this was very comforting as we planned our outdoor wedding. At the end of the night we were even allowed to leave some items and a few cars for pick up the next morning- this was very helpful and not something venues typically do! Some things I had forgotten were also collected for me in the lost and found, and the staff let me take a look to see if I had left anything else- the Walker’s Overlook staff is very accommodating and thorough!
At the end of the night one of our caterers left without cleaning up according to their contract with Walker’s Overlook- I didn’t know this until days later. Without a word to me or my guests, a staff member from Walker’s Overook stacked 250 chairs himself and he and Walker’s staff completed the cleanup. We really appreciate the extra effort from the staff, and regret that our caterer did not fulfill their contractual obligations. This is another example of how the Walker’s Overlook Team will go above and beyond for their couples!
We received so many compliments on the gorgeous scenery of Walker’s Overlook, and many people asked where the venue was when they saw pictures- they couldn’t believe it was in Maryland! When we signed the contract in November of 2019, the value of Walker’s Overlook could not be matched by any other wedding venue in the DMV area. I looked for months and never found an equal competitor that met all of our needs. During our tour, our guide Juanita assured us that Walker’s wouldn’t hold another event the same day as our wedding, and the typical contract included 12 hours of access to the entire venue. The focus was entirely on our wedding that day, and we really appreciated that! Walker’s Overlook really was a fantastic setting for the best day of our lives, and we thoroughly enjoyed our wedding and time there! Thank you so much to the Owners for hosting us and to Holly and her team for ensuring that we had the wedding of our dreams after 2 years of planning! We are so thankful for your work and hospitality and the memories we will enjoy for the rest of our lives!

We got married May 30th, 2021. It was unseasonably cold and rainy, which inevitably leads to anxiety, but we were lucky to have the BEST team to support us at Walker's. Holly and Mark are incredible. They go above and beyond to cater to their brides/grooms, families, guests, etc. The venue is everything you can ask for and more. If it's cold, the tent can be heated. If it's hot, it can be cooled and opened up. There is always a backup plan to the backup plan, and Holly and Mark have seen and handled it all. It's fantastic to be able to do EVERYTHING in one place, no matter the weather or conditions.
The property is immaculate and beautifully landscaped. The tree and ceremony site are what caught our attention, and once we saw the rest of the venue, we were won over. The tent is nicer than any permanent tent I've ever seen. It has gorgeous hard flooring and looks out on a stunning backdrop. The bridal suite, kitchen, and man-cave in the house are also unparalleled.
The team knows everything. They are kind, helpful, professional, and will go to great lengths to make everything perfect. There's also plenty of parking (which can be overnight!!) onsite. We are especially thankful for Holly, the world's best planner and day of coordinator. She helped us through every step of our wedding, and was even kind enough to let us use some of her personal items, like table numbers. She was a magic woman in the way she coordinated with all of our vendors and kept everything going. Mark even let my grandfather (whose passion is metal detecting) scope out the property with his detector. This team and venue won't let you down. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, and are insanely grateful.
Also, just going on looks and photogenic spots to take pictures alone...I mean. The tree, the tree-lined driveway, the bridal suite, the surrounding rolling hills, the lighting in the tent (which is part of the venue, not something you have to bring in) the tables and chairs... It's all magical and best in class. -

I just had my wedding at Walker's Overlook on June 4, 2021. Mark and Holly went above and beyond for me and my husband! Our original wedding date was May 2, 2020, and we had to reschedule two times but Mark and Holly were amazing the whole time! Very responsive to my emails and texts. They were so accommodating and flexible with everything!
The grounds are BEAUTIFUL!!! I had guests telling me how pretty it was and even another couple saying they want to have their wedding there when they get married. I did not need to decorate a lot because of all the beautiful flowers they have planted, the greenery that is all around, and the tent is already so beautiful inside. There are TONS of places for amazing photo ops!
Holly and Mark have thought of everything to make the wedding day for the bride, groom, family, and friends perfect! My wedding party kept saying how nice it was that everything was in one spot. Lots of room to get ready and lots of space for guests.
My wedding day was perfect thanks to this venue! :) -

We just got married at Walker's Overlook on 11.01.19 and it was MORE than we could have ever imagined! The farmhouse and the surrounding open fields were picturesque and the permanent tented reception space was an amazing feel. We had 150 guests in all and it felt like a perfect space for that amount of people. This was the first venue we toured and fell IN LOVE and booked it on the same day (they are very popular and book quickly). The owner Mark is so kindhearted and truly takes the time to talk to you and tell you about everything. Our day-of wedding coordinator that is provided was SIMPLY AMAZING! LuAnn helped my husband and I out SO much by mapping out timelines, charts, vendors, etc. This was a huge help considering my husband and I live over 4 hours away. I do not think I would have been so calm and relaxed the days leading up if it weren’t for LuAnn and her communication. Our reception and set up was swift and smooth because of her! There are not enough words for how incredible Walker’s Overlook made us feel and I truly still cannot believe how perfect our day was because of them! -

We just got married at Walker's Overlook on 10.12.19 and it was MORE than we could have hoped for! The farmhouse and the surrounding open fields are absolute perfection and the tented reception space was perfect for our nearly 185 guests to have plenty of room for dinner and dancing while still getting to enjoy a view of the surrounding openness. We fell in love with the entire property the moment we toured it with Mark and ended up booking it later that day! Mark really took the time to completely show us the property and go over everything in detail and was clearly very proud of this beautiful venue (which was often lacking from other venues we had toured). They also provide you with a day-of wedding coordinator which was SUCH a blessing! Kimberly was our coordinator and mapped out an entire wedding day timeline and touched base with all of my vendors ahead of time to make sure everyone knew when and where they needed to be on the wedding day so the day was as organized as possible. I would have never been able to do this myself. She was there with us during the wedding rehearsal the night before to direct everything, she handled most of the set-up on the day of, and was keeping everyone on schedule before the ceremony & during the reception. If you think you don't need a wedding coordinator....trust me you do! And we were so grateful for everything Kimberly did for us to keep the day running smoothly! If there were any problems during the day, I wasn't aware of them. Everyone we worked with at Walker's Overlook was incredible and we are so grateful to everyone for making our day so perfect! -

This was the first venue we saw and nothing else compared. Mark showed us around the property and we loved the idea of bringing in all your own vendors. It is amazing that you have access to the property for the ENTIRE day, you get to use the house and the tent. It makes the day just flow so easily.
Shannon was amazing to work with. We have been in contact with her for 1.5 years during our entire planning process. She answered every question, helped with every vendor and executed the day perfectly. We never had to worry. Use the preferred vendors, especially Celebrations Catering. They work at this venue ALL the time and know exactly what to do to make your day perfect. They have a way of making you feel like you are the only bride and groom they have every had - I am so thankful for that!
We are forever grateful we found this hidden gem and would recommend it to all of our friends. We had SO many compliments on how beautiful, big and perfect our venue was! Thank you for everything :) -

Beautiful venue
Loved every minute of our wedding here. From the historic house, the beautiful gardens, and the great tent space, I really can’t pick just one thing to be my favorite part of the venue. The bridal suite is elegant and great for makeup artists and hair stylists, while the guys have their own man cave downstairs. We had our reception in the tent, which was great because a rainstorm came through and the walls could be closed and then reopened when it was over. The views are so picturesque, this venue would be perfect in any season! -

It was a spectacular day!
I just wanted to let you know how pleased we were with the Walker's Overlook venue and staff for my daughter's wedding last Saturday (October 20)! Everything about the day and the venue was spectacular from start to finish. And I can't say enough about how helpful Shannon and the closer were in making everything happen flawlessly. They were open and responsive to any request we had, and their positive attitude and energy helped keep the day on track and drama-free. Please pass along our thanks to both of them.
Kate and Rob chose Walker's because of the beauty of the venue, combined with the vibe that their guests and wedding party would just be able to have fun throughout the day and evening -- and you delivered on both counts. Of course it helped that the weather cooperated … even to the point that the crazy winds and rain at 9:30 pm totally died down by 9:40 pm so they could have their sparkler exit. Don't know if you had anything to do with that, but I'm happy to give you credit!
As they were leaving, Kate and Rob declared that the day had been "absolutely perfect" and that they wouldn't have changed a thing. I totally agree, and could not have been happier with Walker's Overlook as the place where they started their new life together.
Thank you again for everything you and your staff did on Saturday and leading up to the big event. We greatly appreciate all of your efforts to give our daughter the wedding of her dreams! -

Walkers Overlook venue was beautiful and stunning. I loved getting married under that beautiful tree, with a tree swing! I love tree swings. Holly was my venue coordinator day of and she was just great. We went over every detail of our day and she created the perfect timeline of our day. She coordinated day of seat changes and unexpected guests, helped set up our decorations, and made the whole day easy for me. She worked great with our other vendors (Celebrations Catering, Blossom and Basket Florist). This was the magic combination of perfect venue, with the perfect caterer and florist, which to me is the foundation of the wedding going smoothly. When all of these staff members of each vendor communicate the way they do, you won't have to worry about a thing! Walkers Overlook Venue is a great place to get married. -

Anna Sent on 10/09/2018Missi did an amazing job coordinating our wedding day! She kept in touch with me from the very beginning (a year before the day). There were so many things I wasn’t sure about, like the order of the ceremony as well as the flow of the reception. Missi was there for every step and not only walked us through before hand, but she watched and directed everyone on the day. If it weren’t for her the day would have been chaos. Walkers overlook is a beautiful spot and absolutely perfect for any wedding. They provided the house for us for the whole morning of as well as all of the tables and chairs. If I could go back I wouldn’t change a thing!

The grounds are absolutely pristine and grogeous. The interior is just as wonderful and very well maintained and clean. The entire venue has such an warm and intimate vibe, you can't go wrong with choosing this location. Not to mention, Mark and David were absolutely wonderful to work with. Both were so very kind and accommodating, and quick to answer any questions you may have. Top notch service!

You do have to book all vendors (i.e. catering, cake, etc) but the venue is stunning and the time they give you is more bang for your buck! The owner, Mark, is very professional and nice! All of the employees there are very down to earth and just all around good people. The venue can accommodate up to 300 people so if you're having a lot of people it's a good place. -

Besides the natural beauty, Mark was so friendly and welcoming making it an easy choice for me. From the beginning, Missi has made the whole process so easy and guided me along. I had so many guests come up to me and say that it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. Mark and his team allowed me to have the wedding of my dreams. -

Caitlin Sent on 10/27/2015There are so many great things about this venue that I'm sure I don't have room to list them all! 1) The fact that you have the venue for a full 12 hours is beyond amazing. We were able to set up decor, have hair/makeup done in the gorgeous bridal suite, and relax with some food and drinks before it was go time. 2) Our coordinator, Holly, was so delightful to work with, very sweet and accommodating. 3) The aesthetics of the venue itself offer endless photo ops and hidden nooks and crannies to explore and appreciate. 4) There are so many options as far as where to have the ceremony, cocktail hour inside or outside, different uses of the beautiful old truck, use of one or two firepits- we used one for smores. I feel so lucky to have experienced the venue as a bride, but now I want to go back and experience it as a guest as well! Absolutely loved it. -

Kate Sent on 10/26/2015Walker's Overlook is an absolutely stunning wedding venue. I loved the rustic setting, and at the same time all parts of the grounds are so beautifully kept. The location is accessible but also remote enough that you have privacy and no stack of rules about noise and how late you can party.
All of the staff is so pleasant. The owner Mark is very friendly and professional, as are the coordinators. The day-of coordinator that they provided for me, Mel was easily accessible to answer questions I had. They all worked well with the planner I hired. The list of preferred vendors they gave us had lots of options, and Mark was very considerate of our budget and the type of party we wanted to throw and helped us pick a great caterer.
One of the things that I liked the best was that when I booked the venue- it was mine for the day. You have access to this big gorgeous updated historic farmhouse, and the surrounding outdoor areas. I didn't have to split the location with another wedding. Many venues would only give you six hours- we arrived on site at 10am to unload our decorations and get hair and makeup started (in the gorgeous bridal suite, plus there is a super cool man-cave for the guys) and partied until the end of our reception at 10pm without any issues. Pre-ceremony we could bring or order in food to nosh on while getting ready, and pick music we wanted on their sound system inside while getting ready. They also did not nickle and dime us over little things. At many places we'd be quoted the location cost, then were met with random fees and conditions.
Overall we looked at 3 venues, and I'll never forget my fiance saying "why are we bothering to look anywhere else" as we left Walker's. We made a quick coffee stop to talk about it, then I turned right back around to sign the contract. I never regretted it. I feel like it was the perfect choice for giving ourselves, our wedding party, and all out guests a fun, enjoyable and relaxing time. -
