One of my close friends recommended Wai-Ching Studio to me for non-traditional wedding dresses and I am so glad I listened to her. I always knew I wanted my dress to be white and purple. Chrissy helped bring that dream to life. She was amazing to work with and very helpful when I came in for my fittings. I got countless compliments on my dress and looked amazing thanks to Chrissy! -

When I first made my appointment with Chrissy, I had a very vague idea in my mind of the type of wedding dress I wanted. I knew I wanted it to be volcano-inspired as I am currently pursuing my doctorate focusing on volcanoes but I wasn't sure what else I wanted. We met over Zoom for a brief consult to go over styles and color combinations that I liked and within the week she produced a sketch of the absolute perfect dress for me. I was truly blown away and when I first tried it on and everything about it was so perfect. Chrissy has a talent for identifying her client's personality and turning it into a one of a kind beautiful garment. She even made the pocket squares, hair clips and face masks for the wedding party just based on colors chosen from Microsoft excel! And they were stunning! I could not have had a more perfect ensemble for my wedding, and Chrissy helped make it truly unique and special. -

Amazing service, amazing dress, amazing price for value
Chrissy made my wedding dress, and she did an AMAZING job. The process was easy - I booked an appointment and tried on sample dresses to figure out a style I wanted. Chrissy then created the dress from scratch, with customizations and specific colors I requested. Chrissy is very nice and a joy to work with, and I got many compliments on my unique and beautiful dress. Highly recommend Wai-Ching Studio!
P.s. In addition to gorgeous, high-quality dresses, she also makes amazing silk face masks. -

Chrissy is a genius with silk and color. Her artistry is unparalleled. She is an absolute joy to work with, helping you to match your vision with her designs. She works to honor and celebrate all shapes and sizes. My wedding dress that is a unique work of art and she dyed my husband’s shirt to match my dress. I felt like a goddess on my wedding day in Hawaii and received so many compliments. Chrissy made an incredibly beautiful custom dress for my wedding! She was extremely responsive by email, adapting the dress to fit my hopes, even adding pockets by request! And in the last few months before the wedding she was able to make a custom tie for my partner to match my dress. The color, structure, and artistry of the dress were even better than I’d hoped for, and it was so fun to dance in! -

I spent over a month searching for the perfect dress:
A lavender fit flare with lace accents. Seemed simple enough, right? WRONG.
There's off-white, cream, ivory, blush and so on and so on, but lavender is a runway color that isn't mass produced. You can imagine my disappointment to find out my options were bridesmaid dresses that didn't have the right 'look'.
Then, someone right here on WeddingWire (forum) recommended looking into a custom made.
I wasn't ready to break the bank, and any time I hear "custom made", I freak out a little bit inside. Then I reached out to Chrissy who assured me I can have the dress I want AND it would be affordable.
Chrissy was flexible, polite, professional and took all of my ideas into consideration and collaborated on a design with me.
During our first fitting, we realized fit-flare just wasn't going to cut it and Chrissy asked how I felt about going closer to mermaid or trumpet design. I was hesitant, but knew I would be in good hands.
When I tell you my husband damn near fainted when he saw me, and how our guests' jaws dropped, I can confirm it was all worth it. Chrissy designed a dress that was just for me: simple, elegant, lace accents,
and lavender.

Chrissy is a true artist! She designed two items for our wedding: my skirt (a custom design) and my wife’s dress (a modified Esther dress). Early on, we both tried on traditional white wedding gowns, and they just never felt right. We visited Chrissy’s cheerful, eclectic Seattle studio, which was full of sample gowns and fabric swatches for us to check out. It became clear that her designs were the right choice for both of us. Chrissy communicated well in person and by email. We both asked for multiple alterations, and she was thoroughly accommodating of our requests. The results (hand-dyed silk, comfortable fits, exquisite craftsmanship) were beyond anything we’d imagined! When we put on our clothes the morning of our wedding, we felt so beautiful and authentically “us”. It was truly special to think that no one had ever worn something quite like our skirt and dress before. We cannot recommend Wai-Ching Studio highly enough! -

Chrissy makes your dream dress come true! I literally showed her a colored pencil drawing I made and she made it a reality. It is better than I could have ever imagined. I flew up to Seattle for the initial meeting to see the studio and we managed to meet in the Bay Area for the fitting. She is 6/5 for flexibility, EVERYTHING IS CUSTOM! I can't wow Wai-Ching enough. I still drool over the new website even though my wedding is over. I got the motion tie for my partner and an accessory for my hair that all matched. Even my mom got a kimono for the affair! Best part is I'm going to pull off wearing this again because it's not a traditional wedding gown. Highly recommend! -

Kate Sent on 07/08/2018She is so creative and amazing! I got my dream wedding dress for a reasonable price made for me and my vision! I didn't have to do any alterations and I live far away. My dress got far and away the most compliments and I owe it all to Wai-Ching. After I get professional pics I will send it her way in order to advertise it on her site because not only was the dress itself amazing and comfortable but shows how truly personalized and attention to color it can bring- the ability to color coordinate with the other dresses, flowers, and decorations..couldn't have asked for better. The dress was truly the center and inspiration for our color scheme and couldn't have asked for a better gown!!

Emily Sent on 11/25/2017Chrissy crafted a dress for me that far exceeded my expectations. After exploring the styles on her website, I went to her studio to try on styles similar to the ones I liked from her hundreds of samples. We then pieced together a custom dress from individual components and colors I chose from several samples. She made each detail custom: the types and tones of fabric in each panel, the start and end shades of dip dye, neckline and sleeve style, corset backing style, and much more. She even made a bow tie and cummerbund for my fiance that matched the silk pieces on the front panel of my dress. My only advice is to confirm each of your measurements with her; she took my measurements while I was in studio, but the sleeves were 2 inches too long and the dress was 4 inches too long, which she kindly fixed quickly for no charge. I got an incredible amount of compliments about my dress, and it was still cheaper than a similar quality off-the-rack noncustom dress!

Debra Sent on 06/07/2016Wai Ching makes dresses for unconventional brides which fit my same sex partner and I to a T! The 5 stars are for my dress. It was colorful, beautiful, completely unique and best of all, I felt great wearing it! I had asked Chrissy to incorporate custom fabric that I had digitally printed featuring my photo of wild fungus. Awesome Job on my dress.
The idea was to incorporate my custom fabric on my partners skirt and jacket. The low stars for professionalism, are for poor quality workmanship of the jacket and skirt. With two visible stains, not caused by the clean mailer pouch which held the garments, one jacket shoulder was visibly sewn higher than the other shoulder, that anyone could see it was a mistake. According to two different local tailors in San Rafael California, the overall construction of the jacket and skirt was "the worst work they've ever seen" and refused to work on them. Very disappointing one week before our wedding! Needless to say, the jacket and skirt caused a lot of unnecessary stress and luckily, our local rockstar seamstress, Louise Lee in San Rafael, CA, was brave enough to basically, deconstruct and reconstruct the outfit and saved our special day!
Chrissy is an amazing wedding dress designer and her dresses are creative and visually stunning. However, no matter how great your work is... apparent weaknesses in quality control need to be addressed to ensure that others don't have the same experience as we did. In retrospect, it took courage on our part to order a wedding dress, a jacket and a skirt over the internet. We should have gone to Wai-Ching in person in Seattle for our fittings and perhaps the outcome would have been different. If I were you, make it personal and have a face to face meeting and fitting.
