This venue was so beautiful! Nicole and Carol were amazing at helping set up and working with us. Both the inside and the outside was so incredibly amazing. -

Every guest at our wedding commented that they had never seen a more beautiful wedding. This venue is seriously stunning. Our wedding was beyond even my very best vision of it - it was truly perfect. Nicole and her team at the Manor House, including Carol who was so kind and thoughtful, are to thank for pretty much all of it! The staff were generous and attentive, and they all seemed to genuinely care about making the event special. Nicole was so fabulous to work with, she met with us and talked with us over the phone many times, always making herself available, and always when she answered questions it was the perfect answer. We live in Brooklyn, NY so our availability to see the venue and meet was limited and Nicole really worked with us to make it easy on us. It was so helpful that everything was handled in one place - from the food (which is truly delicious, guests commented on how good the appetizers and dinner both were), to the ceremony set up and the reception and dance floor - having it all managed by Nicole made it so that we didn’t have any complications trying to manage it from out of state. I had a lot of personal touches and little details that I felt very particular about, and the staff at the Manor House took care of them all and Nicole made sure that everything really was perfect. She took care of us and I loved knowing, on the wedding day, that we were in very capable hands and we had nothing to worry about. It made the experience so much more grounded and enjoyable to feel like it was all taken care of and we could relax and enjoy, and that is what we did!-

Absolutely amazing. The staff was wonderful, the food was delicious, the grounds are gorgeous. They handle everything. No need to stress about anything. Would definitely recommend for brides who are looking for that intimate wedding. The pricing is great and you get a lot more for your money. Even over a traditional venue. I don't live in the area but we drove 2 hours to use this venue. Absolutely amazing!!! -

Beautiful place for wedding reception! If you are looking for a place to take care of food and alcohol - this place is great. Great variety of different packages and seating arrangements. So many compliments on the food- everyone thought it was amazing. Nicole was great to work with and very responsive. She was there for the reception as well to make sure everything went smoothly. The bartenders and staff were so kind and always made sure we were happy! -

This is such a beautiful place, and the staff was some of the best in the service industry I have ever worked with. They were so attentive and professional; I could not have asked for a better ceremony venue. -

The Manor House was everything I could have dreamed of for a ceremony venue. Dana was great to work with and had everything running smoothly. Even though it was a little cloudy, the house and lake were a beautiful back drop for our wedding. -

We opted for a small wedding (3 dozen guests) and married in front of the fire place in the Manor House. We had hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and dinner on the terrace. This venue is absolutely stunning inside and out and provided for timeless photographs that demonstrate a lot of class. The food was amazing, the staff was appropriately responsive, and the planner was very kind and helpful (Dana). I hope to have our 25th & 50th anniversary parties here :) -

We cannot stress enough what an incredible value and amazing venue this is. The team at Kellogg delivers.
Typically, it doesn't take much to satisfy us. If a business delivers on our expectations we are happy. However, Dana and the team at the Kellogg Manor House have far exceeded any previously set standards for excellence. The team is simply outstanding. As soon as we relaxed and handed over the reigns things went from "planned" to "fairytale" instantly.
- Flawless coordination and execution
- Graceful, helpful, yet never in-the-way service
- Always in the right place at the right time to help
- Making exceptions and quickly adapting
- Gracefully and professionally dealing with one of our drunk guests and doing a water shot
- And most importantly: keeping the bride happy! -

The Kellogg Manor provided us an absolutely flawless wedding. I was shocked by how smoothly everything went. The grounds and house are simply stunning. We had an all indoor wedding, with the main room as our ceremony space and reception room. The bridal party sat in the foyer, which worked out great. We used the dining room as the cake room, breakfast nook for gifts, and closed in patio for dancing. My guests were raving, literally raving, about how fantastic the manor was. One of them said that if he ever wins the lottery, he would like to buy it and move there; it was his perfect vision.
Nicole was amazing to work with. She answered every one of my many emails. She was timely and patient. She gave me advice, reassured me, and was 100% honest with me. I credit the success of my wedding mostly to her. The waitstaff and everyone else at the manor was very helpful, excited, and very professional.
I loved my wedding at the Manor so much, I even named my new cat Kellogg to commemorate the experience. -

Words cannot express how easy it was to work with Nicole and her team! They came in early to unlcok the manor for us on Sunday so we could get ready before photos, they set thigns up better than even I could have thought of. It was perfect, my only regret is that we did not book them for our reception before another wedding was booked a couple hours after we were to leave. If you are keeping it small (60 people) this is an amazing reception location for indoors! In the summer and spring you can be outside, but we ended up with 50 degree weather. Again, they were amazing. They helped us loaded and move things and I love them so much. I am planning to use them for future events. They are worth the cost! So very worth the cost (see my review of Gull Lake Country Club for my reception...book at the Manor instead!) -

The W.K. Kellogg Manor House was the most beautiful place to have my wedding and reception. The grounds are so colorful and bright, it was the perfect back drop for all my photos. It was the hottest day of the summer and a chance of thunderstorms so we had to add some last minute umbrellas for shade and then almost immediately pack it up for the approaching storm, but is went so smoothly like it had been planned all along. All the staff were professional and friendly and polite. The food was amazing, all my guests loved it. And the planning was so easy with the event staff and the food service. I did have a few guests with food allergies and the staff was so accommodating. The house is so beautiful inside (and outside) it was like dream come true, I couldn't ask for anything else. Even the photographer loved the location. All my guests raved about how beautiful the place was and how great the food was. I wish I could do it again! -

Neither my husband or I are from Michigan but knew instantly we were going to have our wedding at the Kellogg Manor. It was not well received by our family that had to drive from Chicago to get there but everyone instantly "got it" when they got on property. The venue is AMAZING! We were sold instantly and it was a bonus that Nicole and Sarah were professional and fabulous event coordinators. We had the ceremony down by the lake, cocktail hour at the mansion, and then reception down at the tent. I couldn't have asked for anything better. The venue provided enough space, uniqueness, picture spots and overall wonderful vibe I couldn't have asked for more. It was nice to be able to have my own vision play out and design the whole day how I wanted it instead of being stuck with a hotel or banquet hall's picked vendors. I would recommend this place for small and large weddings- its phenomenal! -

I loved this venue!! It was absolutely perfect for our wedding! It was so well coordinated! Not only was it gorgeous, the food was amazing, the staff was delightful, but they even found someone to help sew my sister into her dress a few minutes before the ceremony because her zipper broke! I could not recommend them more highly! -

Kellogg Manor House couldn't be a more beautiful setting for a wedding ceremony and reception. We Used the lakeside pagoda for our fall wedding and it was a dream. The landscaping is amazing, as is the home, and it gave our guests plenty to look at and explore between ceremony and reception. The staff was also SUPER helpful and accomodating and have the experience to ensure everything goes off without a hitch. Could NOT have been happier with how everything turned out! -

This venue was the perfect ceremony site. I can't say enough about the amazing staff: Nicole, who is in charge, and then Sarah, our point person. Sarah was so warm, friendly, and caring. She and the staff really went the extra mile to take care of the "little things" that can just stress a bride out. They set everything up for us including decorations, spaces for musicians, sound system, etc. They worked with my wedding coordinator (a friend) to make sure the ceremony went smoothly, and even worked a Saturday wedding late into the night and came back early to unlock the venue for my noon Sunday wedding. My grandma is a bit limited in mobility, so they used a golf cart to drive her down to the lake.. so thoughtful! Sarah helped me with the timing of the ceremony, brainstormed ideas on how to post signs for directions, and kept us smiling and energetic. I appreciated them so much, and I truly didn't worry about a thing.
PROS:
- beautiful, beautiful venue!
- classy, historical site with a lot of grounds to explore
- a great value for the price
- phenomenal staff
- flexible to meet your needs
CONS:
- difficult to find (its on a lake, and we really tried to give guests the heads-up with detailed maps)
- a bit far from downtown Kalamazoo (20-30 min)
- outdoors (can be hot, possible rain - but they have a backup plan if you need it)
- space by the lake (where we got married) is limited in spacing (150 max)
As none of these cons were dealbreakers for us, everything worked out perfectly. Weather was beautiful, sunny, and just a bit warm but the pastor was understanding and kept the ceremony short and sweet. The sun was not in my face (I was worried about squinting in pictures), and our photographer shot the most amazing photos. The manor house provided a unique backdrop that gave our wedding some added pizzazz. Way beyond my expectations, and my guests raved about it which made the extra drive totally worth it. Overall, A++. -

Where do I begin. I was married in December. I will tell you right now, BEST TIME OF YEAR!!!! The Manor House is decorated for their Holiday tour so There are no worries about decorating!! Nicki was amazing to work with. All of my wishes were granted and my wedding was magical. The only problem with a winter wedding is you have to have it inside, and there is limited seating. I regret not having my reception there as well. It is a great place and so beautiful!! -

This is THE place to get married in the Battle Creek/Kalamazoo are if you are looking for an amazing romantic setting! The grounds and manor are gorgeous and you have one stop shopping as you can have the ceremony/reception in one spot. All of guests LOVED the Manor and I can't imagine having my wedding anywhere else. The staff is super nice and super helpful and goes above and beyond to make your day perfect. I was not worried at all about things not falling in place. Oh and the food is certainly the best you can get - go for a tasting and you will be convinced! -

Nicole and her staff and the Kellogg Manor provided myself, my husband and my family with the wedding of our dreams! Our guests have deemed it a "storybook" wedding, and one of the most beautiful settings they have ever been to. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with KBS. I wish that we could live it all over again. From our initial tour of the facilities, to the food testing, to the rehearsal, to the perfection of the set up by Nicole and her staff, everything was always taken care of. We rented the Caretakers Cottage, Carriage House, Suites and Cabins for ourselves and our guest for the weekend. These facilities were not only adorable but they were perfectly attended to during our stay. Gull Lake is gorgeous this time of year (Early August) it was like looking out to the ocean with the grounds in full bloom. Every inch of this property is a photo opportunity, inside the historical Kellogg Manor and especially throughout its beautiful gardens down at the Pagoda. Our Reception on the patio/inside the manor also went flawlessly, the flexibility on KBS' behalf in our planning was outstanding and really allowed us to make it "our own" and help us with our budget. This is a truly amazing venue ran by truly amazing people! -

The W.K. Kellogg Manor House was where we had our ceremony only (not reception as indicated above). In my biased opinion, the Manor House is the most beautiful place to have your wedding. I visited the Manor House once and knew it was where I wanted to get married. The staff was amazing! Professional, courteous, very helpful. They set up our ceremony for us, helped run the entire ceremony program (i.e. helped with the timeline and making sure everyone was ready to go, etc.). I had so many of our guests tell me that they want to come back to the Manor House to take their family photos there because the location is so beautiful. I just cannot say enough about it. Our entire experience was amazing and I wish I could re-live our wedding day over and over!! -

If there was a 10 star rating for Kellogg Manor House and its staff, I would give them a 10 plus. Nicole answered all of our emails with questions that we had throughout the year and was there the day of the event to hold our hands through the details. Most of our guests were from out of town and they loved seeing this rural side to Kalamazoo. -

The Manor House is absolutely beautiful. The staff is very accommodating and you basically have your own wedding planner (thanks Nicole)! Josh did all our food and he is amazing! Thank you!!!!! If you are having a medium to small wedding, I would definitely check out the Manor House, its one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Michigan and a great value! I was relaxed and happy on my wedding day. I was confident they would take care of everything! One of my friends, who was in my wedding, is actually having her reception here! All of the staff did a great job--thank you to all of you! -

I could not ask for more from a venue - it was beautiful, everything worked like clockwork, and Nicole Kokx, the on-site wedding coordinator did everything possible to make our wedding day as personalized as we wanted it. We had hoped for an outdoor wedding, but had planned for mid-October (a weather gamble!). I was able to test out the weather and had to make the call only a few hours before the ceremony was to begin, luckily, because the weather improved as the day went on and we had a gorgeous outdoor wedding. Our guests loved the intrinsic beauty of the Manor House, and we had only a little decorating to do to transform the interior into a fantasy. We had many compliments on the food, and had everyone eagerly back for brunch the next morning. -

The Kellogg Manor House was a wonderful venue for both the ceremony and reception. The views to the lake from the house, gardens and pagoda created the perfect setting.
Equally important was our coordinator, Nicole Klox, who was wonderful to work with as she was extremely knowledgable of what needed to be discussed, helpful with creative ideas and prompt with her responses to all my questions.
I have highly recommended this to friends who are looking for wedding locations. -

My husband and I choose the Kellogg Manor House for our wedding after we attended a wedding there in December. We fell in love with the house and all of the surroundings. It is a beautiful place for a wedding. Our wedding was perfect! We had both our ceremony and reception at the house and were blown away by the staff and their attentiveness. Besides some bad weather and warm temperatures (the house is air conditioned, but can only be set at a certain temp due to antiques), we had no complaints. The food was wonderful and all of our guests comented on it. I would highly recommend the Kellogg Manor House for a wedding. -

The Kellogg Manor house is an absolutely stunning place to get married. Everyone that came to our wedding told me how beautiful our wedding site was. It was also so much fun to get ready in the Kellogg mansion. Chris was so helpful in coordinating our wedding and make sure everything was perfect. I would highly recommend this wedding site to anyone. -

I was completely enthralled with the Kellogg Manor House. It was the perfect place and the history associated with this site was amazing. The staff were superb. My DJ said he had never been treated so well. They were professional, and at the same time, fun and added so much to the wedding. Nicole took care of so many details that I never even thought of. My father was able to attend from a local Hospice House and the staff made his visit a great experience for him and my family. I honestly felt that the staff was part of our family after everything was said and done. And the food---it was the greatest. I had so many guests say that the food was the best they had ever had and it was one of the first weddings where they were never hungry waiting for things to begin. There was so much for the guests to occupy their time with after the ceremony and before the reception began that I never had to worry about them while photographs were being taken. My every need was met and filled way past anything I could have imagined. I never wanted the evening to end. My guests are still talking about it. -

We had an Indian wedding, something that KBS had never done before. And they were so accommodating, and did their best to make our day wonderful. We are so appreciative of all their help and assistance before, during and after the wedding. -

We celebrated our wedding in the garden and reception on the terrace at the Kellogg Manor House in August. On the day of the event and at the rehearsal the staff was incredibly helpful in coordinating every detail. They were extremely friendly, unobtrusive, and professional. They anticipated our needs and took care of the details so that we could enjoy our wedding day to the fullest without worrying about any of them. They were genuinely excited for us and wanted to make the event the best it could be. The venue and grounds were absolutely beautiful, and our guests are still raving that the food was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. It is a very classy venue! -

Nicole and staff was very helpful and responsive and made it incredibly easy to plan a unique and one of a kind wedding. Josh, the chef, was amazing! It was the best food we have ever enjoyed at a wedding and catered to celiac disease and numerous guests' food intolerances. Our guests are still raving about the event and especially the food. -

I loved working with the Kellogg Manor, specifically Nicole Kokx. I highly recommend the Manor House for weddings or any event. Nicole was extremely flexible and met with us on the weekends. Additionally, Nicole responded to each of our inquiries immediately. Nicole is professional, kind and a wonderful person to work with when planning a wedding. The Kellogg Manor is a spectacular venue on Gull Lake. My husband and I had the time of our lives at our wedding! Thank you for everything. -

Got married Fall 2009.
Nicole Kokx was amazing and made planning our big day a lot easier! She has a lot of experience planning events at the Manor House and ran the ceremony and reception smoothly.
Additionally, the food was amazing! We got many compliments on dinner/appetizers. We also had a brunch the next morning (omlettes made-to-order, danishes, etc.), again delicious! The chef was flexible and did his best to accomodate our party.
We have nothing but good things to say about our wedding weekend. -

A great place for a ceremony and reception if you are looking for a place for your guests to enjoy and remember. Beautiful gardens and the lakeshore create a magical atmosphere that any bride would love. Growing up in the area for the past 22 years I had always dreamed of having my wedding at the Manor House along the lakeshore. I couldn't have picked a more beautiful area to have our friends and family join us in our special day. The weekend before high winds and tornadoes came through the area and the staff worked hard all week making sure the lakeshore and gardens were in their best shape for a wedding. I really appreciate all the hard work and attention to detail by everyone! -

Nicole and the staff were wonderful at the Manor House. The grounds were beautiful and the wedding turned out lovely! Nicole was very fast to answer any questions or concerns I had via email or phone. The staff was flexible with my special requests and very kind. I would recommend this site for anyone who is having a smaller intimate wedding with about 80 guests. It is perfect! -

The Kellogg Estate is a beautiful place to get married. My husband and I got married the first weekend of September. Nicole stayed in constant contact with us throughout the planning process. The garden and mansion are breath taking. The only compliant I have is lack of notification of change in the wedding coordinator. We absolutely loved Sara (another coordinator of the facility) and felt confident that things would run smoothly with her, but we were never notified that she ended up leaving. The young woman that we had was nice and accommodating, but lack of experience was evident. Overall, we loved this venue and would recommend it!
Congratulations and enjoy the planning process! -

Everything was great!! Easy to work with and very helpful in recommending and working with various vendors.
It would have been helpful to have more access to restrooms given the money spent on the venue. -

From the moment we visit the site, even in the winter covered in snow, we knew this was the prefect place for our wedding. We booked the site immediately. Nicole was extremely helpful and prompt in emailing me contracts, costs, menus, etc. Although she was not there the day of due to her maternity leave her assistant stepped in and everything went off wonderfully. The staff are very organized, timely, and efficient with wedding planning. They had many suggestions and ideas that I had not thought of while planning my wedding. Everything at our event went very smoothly because of their excellent and organized staff. During the reception I hardly even noticed the wait staff, but everything was always clean and served perfectly on time. They did eveything from setup to clean up. It was easy and an absolutely beautiful site. -

The staff [Nicole] at the Manor House made everything so easy. Once the big day rolled around, I didn't have to think of anything...I could focus on the wonderful day and really enjoy myself! The grounds at the Manor House were maintained beautifully. The food was wonderful, as well. Nicole was very helpful in making recommendations that suited what we were looking for in a venue, but still allowed us flexibility. The convenience of the services that are provided by the Manor House, combined with the quality and the fabulous setting makes this a place where we would have our wedding over and over again!
My only complaint would be that the Manor House is a venue for other events/conferences, etc. During the rehearsal, there were conferees walking around, through the area where we were rehearsing. Although we were reassured that this wouldn't be the case during the wedding, it happened. There were also conferees were watching the ceremony from up top of the Manor House and were speaking very loudly - to the point where some of our guests could hear. There were also some conferees sitting on the steps directly behind where the ceremony took place and as the wedding party departed the ceremony, the bridal party had to squeeze past the conferees sitting on the steps. Honestly, I didn't know any of this was going on, but when I found out [why someone told me, I don't know] I thought it was very disrespectful and was slightly disappointed. -

Kellogg Manor House is so beautiful and we could not have dreamed of a more wonderful venue. It was a perfect day. The venue itself is really nice. You can get changed in Mr. and Mrs. rooms and free roam of the house during your time slot.
The only complaints I have was the coordination. We met with a lady who really sold the venue to us, she told us that we would be the only wedding on that day, that they would be in contact with us throughout the process, and that she would help our day to be as perfect as we wanted. Unfortunately, I did not hear from her again (I think she stopped working there), and we did not hear from anyone else until a month or so before about the wedding. (We booked almost 1 and a half years in advance). When we spoke to someone, they told us that they had booked another wedding after ours (we had our reception elsewhere) so we had to have an early wedding. We were not too happy that we were promised the house at anytime and to be the only wedding to then being told we had to have it early.
She did a wonderful job of our rehearsal. I felt as though she told us exactly what we had to do, had us practice it until we felt confident, and made sure we all 100% knew what to expect. She gave her full attention and as much time as we needed, so it made me sleep a lot better running up to our wedding. Thank you!!
Apart from that, it was an amazing day, we couldn't have asked for a better venue. There are so many good photo opportunities. Even when we took nonprofessional photos ourselves, they looked so pretty. There is no need for any decoration because it is already so beautiful.
I would definitely recommend having your wedding at this venue, I was just disappointed with the service. -

The ceremony site was beautiful! We could not have asked for better weather! Sunny and mostly clear skies, nice breeze off the lake kept everyone cool and comfy. I do have to say, despite the beautiful grounds, and the awesome weather, there were a couple concerns that I had. They wanted to charge us almost 140.00 just to have bottled water for our guests (we provided our guests with our own and only spent 45 dollars; water/ice/container). While they do have an outlet down in the Pagoda Garden, the site is not wired for sound. They have one wireless lapel (spelling?) mic that the officiant wears (they bring down a speaker) but if you want music being played or plan to have a any special readings done, you have to provide your own equiptment because you cannot hook-up anything to their "system." The women we origianlly spoke with Nicole, was not there to coordinate our ceremony and I was hoping she would've been as she was the one we set everything in motion with. It had appeared to me that there wasn't much follow-through as her assistant who ran the event wasn't fully into it and felt rushed during our rehersal with not much guidance/involvement. For the price we paid, I would have expected a bit more from the staff coordinating our ceremony. Other than the above mentioned mishaps, these few "speedbumps" didn't get in the way of us enjoying the event of the year! -
