Working with Villa was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. She is just the sweetest, easiest person to work with. She made us feel completely comfortable from the moment she arrived and kept the everything running smoothly and on time. She made sure we got every shot that mattered to us, including some incredible pictures with our camera shy groomsmen.
We got our pictures back during our honeymoon, much earlier than expected! They absolutely blew us away. Everyone told us that they looked like something out of a magazine. She captured beautiful editorial romantic portraits, and all the most important sweet subtle moments throughout the night.
On top of all that, she was very reasonably priced compared to other options we considered. I can’t recommend booking Villa enough -

Villa was absolutely incredible. Her presence, artistic eye, and professionalism were evident from the moment I first reached out to her through the final delivery of our photos. We opted out of engagement photos as my husband really doesn’t enjoy photo shoots, so our wedding day was actually the first time we met her, and she immediately made us feel completely at ease. She scouted beautiful locations and found the perfect lighting. We had a brunch wedding which poses a challenge for a photographer with harsh morning light, but Villa came prepared and used the soft reflections and cloudy skies to capture truly stunning images. Before the wedding day, Villa was exceptionally communicative and quick to respond to any questions. She helped create a photography timeline that ended up being invaluable, especially since we were working with a tight morning schedule for our 10:45 a.m. church ceremony. Admittedly I didn’t fully consider the early timelines when I first decided on a brunch reception. On the day of, Villa and her second photographer were phenomenal. She maintained a calm, peaceful presence and guided photos with a thoughtful, artistic approach. She arrived early, was fully prepared, and remained discreet throughout the ceremony. Her turnaround time was also incredibly impressive in just five weeks! We were blown away by the gallery and will cherish these photos forever. I highly, highly recommend Villa for your wedding. -

Simply stunning. After reviewing Villa Li’s past work, we knew she was the perfect photographer to capture our special day. My now-husband and I appreciated how clearly she communicated her photography style, especially since we’re the type of couple who need guidance with posing and creating those “wow” shots. Villa Li had no trouble directing us throughout the entire day and made us feel completely at ease. The sneak peek photos were absolutely gorgeous and only heightened our excitement to receive the full gallery. While her turnaround time was typical for a wedding photographer, we were thrilled to receive our complete set of photos within just a few weeks. We can’t recommend Villa Li enough. Villa is fantastic. We could not recommend a better wedding photographer. I loved that she came early on site to scope out the layout of our venue and think ahead of the types of shots she wanted to take. She helped direct us through poses when we needed guidance and felt awkward. And then she gave us moments to just sink it all in and be us! Giving us some lovely candid photos as well. She navigated the stressful day with grace. And over delivered on the final gallery. Her eye for the way the light catches and editing for a dreamy natural timeless coloring is impeccable. Please, please hire Villa for your special day. I guarantee you will not regret it. -

Working with Villa Li Photography for our wedding photos made the day amazing! Wedding photos are something that we knew we only had one chance to get right, and thanks to Villa, we have a beautiful recap of our day. From the moment we engaged with Villa we knew we had the right sense of style and organization that would capture the moment. Villa has an incredible sense of style and ability to focus on the subject and the background for the perfect composition. She has an arsenal of equipment that can be used for any setting to help adjust the light and filters to make everyone look their best! During our festivities, we had multiple venues that we needed to capture and some of those spaces were in residential homes. Villa was able to adapt to each situation and executed the photos to perfection! We love looking at what she captured in the homes that was part of our day. Not only that, but Villa also adapted to outdoor settings and then back inside for the reception venue. We covered all angles with her! Throughout the day she was calming and worked the venues to get the best photos. One of the wonderful things was her ability to get the candid shots of our guests which helped us show what a great day everyone had!
Villa has a great way to share the photos and edits after the festivities. She is prompt and communicative even after the excitement has subsided. We were overjoyed with the final outcome!

My husband and I booked VILLA for our wedding and we came away extremely impressed in basically every way. Before the wedding, they had a ton of resources for us to use for planning, and made sure we were set up for success when the big day came. On the wedding day, they stuck to the schedule, captured our important moments, accommodated our requests, and were willing to help in any way they could, even with things that were not their job. After the wedding, they remained patient through all our edit requests, provided some of the best customer service I've ever experienced, and delivered absolutely stunning photos and videos that we can take pride in. If you are considering working with Villa, DO IT! We had a small, non-traditional wedding. We planned a wedding two months after our engagement, and didn’t have time to do a lot of planning. Photography is important for us. Villa went above and beyond to get all the requested shots and many more.

A true creative professional
Working with Villa was one of the best choices we made as part of wedding planning. During the initial planning, she was responsive, thoughtful, and considerate of our vision. She understands that most people have never planned a wedding before helped us not only plan photos, but reorganize our reception to flow better.
My husband and I are very photo shy, enough so that we debated on whether or not to even hire a photographer for the wedding. Villa was so great at directing interesting, natural poses that didn't feel forced or awkward in the moment. We opt-ed not to do an engagement shoot, but if we had to do it all over again, we absolutely would with Villa.
During day of, Villa was extremely detailed and organized. She arrived early to the venue to capture photos and understand the space overall. She was very good about taking photos in a way that didn't interrupt the flow of events while navigating a fairly large and irregularly shaped venue.
We received a great blend of editorial and photo-journalistic images that really captured the day beautifully. One of things we appreciated the most was how well she captured not just us but our guests as well. Villa has a great eye for wide shots, close up details, and artistic framing. Our wedding day started on a sunny day at noon and ended in the evening. Villa shot great photos throughout all the lighting changes during the day including many flash photography and low light shots after the sun had set.
We had a great experience sharing our wedding day with Villa and think you would too! -

I had the opportunity to work with Villa during a 4th of July wedding weekend in Washington, D.C. For being the first time working together, I appreciated her knowledge of venues and location to recommend to our client for their engagement session and their first look moment.
Villa and I also worked hand in hand going over the timeline and provided great feedback on how much time and details she would need to capture the overall wedding day storyline. She also took time to go the contracted venue to check out the location and lighting. Villa provided great feedback on where the best lighting would be for the couple during the ceremony and family photos.

Villa was professional, fast to respond, on time, and thoughtful (she quickly shared a few highlights before sharing the full list of edited photos). She was also nice to have around and we felt comfortable with her.
Most importantly - the photos turned out SO well. She's clearly mastered composition, visual storytelling, and how to capture interesting moments. (You can tell from Villa's portfolio that she's really good at that, and it was awesome to benefit by being her subject matter!) We are really happy with our final results since our engagement portraits were a once in a lifetime occasion, and we can now use them for our website and guestbook.
Finally -- it can be overwhelming sorting through tons of unedited photos where you know your expression looks off or someone is blinking. I love that Villa made it easier for us by only showing us the "good" ones -- there were so many still and I felt so photogenic since I didn't have to look at a bunch of bad expressions. -

I was looking for a photo studio for our son's first birthday and found Villa. I loved the style in her website so I decided to go for it even though it was not a wedding photo session. The pre-session communication was smooth. My only concern before the session was that whether she could cheer up my son, as it was not easy to 'negotiate' with a 1-year-old boy.
On the session, OMG, Villa was AMAZING! My son was SOOOO happy and lovely for the whole session (over an hour), even happier than at home! I don't know it happened, but she made it! We ended up with MANY beautiful photos. They don't even need to be edited!
In a few hours I received an unexpected gift. Villa learnt that the photo session was right on my son's birthday, so she sent me an edited photo very quickly. Then I used it on my son's B-day party right away. That was really sweet experience and beautiful family memory. Highly recommend! -

We had a wonderful time with Villa during our engagement session so we worked with her again for our wedding photos! Villa is efficient, patient and most importantly, has a great aesthetic taste. The photos turned out to be beautiful and are exactly the feelings and style I was envisioning. Her turnaround was lightning-speed: we got highlight photos in a few days and the rest of the photos in a couple of weeks - all edited & in good quality. Before & during the wedding, she went through my notes and shot list, spent 8+ hours at the venue capturing everything from jewelry & accessories, candid moments with family & friends, to all the key events like the first look, ceremony & first dance. Amazing Experience!
Villa did my hair and makeup for our pre-wedding photo shoot and she is amazing! I have very discriminating tastes and wanted everything to be just as I imagined it on the day of the shooting. Villa listened to my requests and tried to deliver each and every one of them. She kept my makeup very natural looking and accentuated on the right spots. Villa provides hair/makeup services and wedding gown rentals. I would definitely recommend Villa if you are looking for a one stop shop with great services offered! -

So we arrived at Villa's studio a little earlier and she already be there waiting for us, very nice and patient to explain the who schedule is.
Unfortunately , the weather of that day is not that great so we feels little worried since our original destination is too muddy. She quickly provided us several other options and the photos we get later are fabulous.

Exceptional Talent
We're constantly told by our friends and family that our pictures look "magazine worthy". Apart from her exceptional talent, Jing Wei has done an excellent job guiding my family and I through shoots and providing excellent advice. She is patient, warm, and accepting of our ideas and visions. She has made every shoot exciting and fun for my two young toddlers. We're always excited to see her and have her capture our family's memories. -

To be clear I would recommend Villa as a photographer depending on what you are looking for.
Wonderful qualities include: she had lots of meetings with me to get to know what I wanted and braving the freezing wind on my wedding day with no change in professionalism. Me, my husband, and family loved majority of the photographs she took because she is VERY talented.
Others have had great experiences and I did too, but I was not personally as satisfied with the final results. A few reasons (not a comprehensive list) why:
1) I 100% remember saying that one of the most important moments for me would be my husband's expression for my first look so it was my expectation she would capture me behind him and then move to get his face. When I got the photos back there were none of his expression and that moment is lost forever except in my memory.
2) I have email records proving me right that the original 7 hours (which is all we could afford) was to reduce pre-wedding time and maximize photos of my guests at the reception. She said it'd be better to do 1 to 8 to make time for portraits of groom and me. There was so much time spent on detail photos that I said I didn't care about and now I have barely any reception photos.
3) A couple of the photos in my final gallery were of framed pictures that I already own. Those pictures could've been of guests like my family who were there early. Also, my mom and I weren't a fan of how she took photos of people already using the photobooth. We got digital copies of all those already...
4) I said I wanted candid moments. There was a beautiful moment where my bridesmaid was fixing my hair and she didn't capture it because the focus was on getting my bridesmaid to face forward for the posed photo.
All in all my 3/5 feels justified though some may disagree. I'm grateful for her hard work, kindness, and intent to give me all I wanted. She is a pleasure to work with. At the end of the day though, the day is over and I will never get those moments back for photographs.
