We got married at Venue 1902 in October 2025 and are so happy we chose this venue! From our first tour with Aleshia, we felt genuinely welcomed, and it was clear how much they care about their couples. Throughout the year leading up to our day, the team was always quick to respond to questions and easy to get in touch with. They also host several events before your wedding, which gives you more opportunities to see the venue set up, furniture rental options, and meet vendors. They have curated a very thoughtful list of suggested vendors, we booked the majority of ours from this list and highly recommend them.
During our venue search, flow from ceremony to cocktail hour to reception space was very important to us, and Venue 1902 was one of the few places that truly delivered. We loved having three separate spaces with great flow. We didn’t end up needing the rain plan, but having a solid option was really important to us, especially with Florida weather, and knowing we could wait until two hours before to make that call gave us so much peace of mind!
This venue truly has everything, great getting-ready spaces, the most beautiful and photogenic ceremony garden, indoor and outdoor options for cocktail hour, and an upstairs reception space that is stunning and so customizable. The bridal suite was absolutely perfect for me and my bridal party to get ready in with plenty of space, mirrors, and great natural light. The groom's room and library were the perfect spots for the guys to hang out and brunch was delivered right to both our rooms included. On our wedding day, Lisa (the owner) and her sons were on site, and along with the valet team, they were a dream when it came to setup and jumping in to help with flow for some guests that arrived early. So many of our guests complimented both the beauty of the venue and the helpfulness of the staff, saying it was the best wedding they’ve been to. We found Venue 1902 through an event post on Facebook, and it was only the second venue we toured in person — we booked it within 24 hours. They had a great incentive at the time, and we immediately fell in love with the space.
From the first tour, the team was amazing. Adriana showed us around and was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. Aleshia assisted with finalizing our booking and was just as wonderful. We met with Adriana in person two more times before the wedding and also communicated frequently via email — responses were always prompt and thorough, which made the planning process feel organized.
Venue 1902 provides a curated list of recommended vendors (with catering to be selected from their approved options--plus with BYO alcohol option too) and hosts vendor events throughout the year (plus twice a year exclusively for couples who have already secured a date). These were a valuable part of planning — we found our phenomenal vendors: caterer, hair/makeup artist, photographer, and photobooth company through these.
The team was transparent about what their day-of coordination service includes versus what would require an additional decor placement fee, which we appreciated. They also offer a wide range of decorations, with a price list provided after booking. We were open about our budget throughout the entire process, and we never felt judged or pressured to spend more. A month before the wedding, they set up an online planning tool that helps organize the guest list/seating chart/general layouts and allows you to access/edit at home after, making it easy to visualize the wedding day setup.
Small tip: If you plan to have hair and makeup services at the venue, coordinate with your artists early to determine what time you’ll need venue access. You might be surprised at how long it takes to complete hair and makeup!
Between our booking and our wedding, Venue 1902 implemented a day-of coordination partnership with the company Just Marry!. Initially, this change made me (bride) a bit nervous, but those concerns were put to rest. While our full experience with Just Marry! deserves its own separate review, I cannot say enough positive things about Emylie, who was absolutely incredible and played a huge role in ensuring our wedding day ran smoothly.
Venue 1902 truly has thought of everything. It’s an all-in-one venue with spacious bride and groom getting-ready suites (filled with natural lighting), lots of clean bathrooms, and beautiful outdoor ceremony (with the option to move indoors due to weather at no extra cost)/indoor+outdoor cocktail hour/indoor reception spaces. With so many unique spots for photos, the venue looks beautiful no matter the angle—and equally striking in color or black and white. There is ample parking plus valet service and elevator access to the reception area on wedding day (available for guests who NEED it). They even lock the bridal suite during the wedding to ensure personal belongings are secure. Brunch provided during wedding day was delicious and substantial. Thoughtful touches like mailing a letter and tote bag for the bride months before the wedding as well as giving us a bottle of champagne during the wedding rehearsal made us feel cared for.
A little heads up for future brides planning to wear a long veil—mine got caught on the flooring of the outdoor ceremony aisle, which was totally fine; I just wasn’t ready meheheheh!
Overall, Venue 1902 is absolutely stunning, professionally run, and exceeded our expectations in every way. We highly recommend it to any couple looking for a beautiful, seamless, and well-thought-out wedding venue.

The Perfect Venue with an Even Better Team!
Historic Venue 1902 was truly the venue of our dreams! It was the perfect combination of elegance, history, and classic charm. We’re still reliving that day over and over—it went even better than we could have imagined.
Their planning platform made the process so easy. Being able to see our rentals laid out visually helped us make confident decisions, and the design calls were incredibly helpful whenever we had questions. Honestly, their team felt like having a built-in wedding planner! The staff handled everything with such professionalism and care—from the design phase to coordinating vendor logistics on the day of the wedding. We didn’t have to worry about a thing.
The space itself was stunning. The guys loved hanging out in the Library, and the girls had an amazing time in the beautiful getting ready room. Everything was well thought out and so accommodating. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the venue and the flow of the day.
We can’t recommend Historic Venue 1902 enough. The team is exceptional, the setting is gorgeous, and the entire experience was flawless from start to finish. Best venue and best staff—hands down!Historic Venue 1902's reply:

I cannot recommend this venue enough. The staff is INCREDIBLE and so helpful. The venue comes with a day of coordinator who you meet with periodically before the big day- which was super helpful and you don't have to worry hiring an outside vendor for the planning. The location is also amazing, very close to downtown if you are interested in continuing the party, or even to do a rehearsal dinner nearby. The communication was always timely and super helpful throughout this entire process. Anytime I felt stressed, I would talk to their team and instantly felt better. The getting ready room for both the bride and groom were so spacious and was a perfect place to hang out. The venue itself was beautiful and very well priced. So many people have asked me about it and complimented our wedding. This venue and the staff truly made our day nothing short of perfect and I would highly recommend them to anybody and I wish I could re-live it all over again.Historic Venue 1902's reply:

My husband and I got married at 1902 and we have nothing but great things to say about them! They were extremely professional the entire time, very responsive with emails, and was there for any issues day of. We didn't have to wait days for a response if we needed to email them with a question, there was always someone available to answer our questions! We had a few last minute changes after our final counts were submitted and there was no problem getting things switched around. Everything went so smoothly with them! My husband and I got engaged in May 2023 and when it came to searching for a venue, there were so many things to consider; venue size, location, charm, accommodations, and most importantly, price!
We checked out multiple venues and this one checked all the boxes! When I walked in the first time, I fell in love with the charm the place had and loved how unique it was! For starters, the venue was stunning and it spoke for itself! The get ready spaces were the biggest I’d seen of all the venues we visited; super spacious and could easily fit 8+ people in there without feeling crammed! I also loved that the venue offered a day-of coordinator to help ensure everything goes smoothly on wedding day. They hosted multiple “open house” events, which allowed people to come in and speak with different vendors they typically work with, such as catering, DJ, flowers, etc. This was such an awesome idea because otherwise I would have no clue where to start for finding out vendors! It also allowed us to see the venue with different styles of decor and it gave us ideas for what we would want for our wedding day too! Speaking of which, the venue had a plethora of decor to choose from which could be rented which was really nice! When it came to planning, the venue offered a portal which was the primary form of communication with the staff members, they were quick to respond and super helpful!
In May 2024, my husband and I got married here and we couldn’t have been happier with our choice!! On the day of and the days after, we had so many of our friends and family coming up to us, sharing how much they loved the venue!
We would certainly recommend this venue to anyone who’s looking to get married! I hope to visit again one day for a loved one’s wedding, because I truly could not get enough of this beautiful building!❤️

When my husband and I toured this venue, we knew right away that this was going to be where we got married. Not only was it a stunning venue, but the staff took the time to sit down and get to know us before we even booked, shared ideas of things we could do that would fit us as a couple and showed such genuine excitement for our future wedding day and marriage. The planning process leading up to the day was far better than I ever could have imagined and the girls were always available to answer all the questions I had in honeybook....and then there was rehearsal and the day of, WOW. There are truly not enough words to describe how wonderful each and every single one of the Venue 1902 Team members were and are. They cared about every single detail and took so much time to make sure my husband and I were okay throughout the day and night. The Most Incredible Day & Experience
I can't say enough positive things about this venue! The venue is beautiful, just a few blocks away from historic downtown Sanford, and has the most incredible staff. My husband and I fell in love with this venue the second we walked in, and I never had a negative experience when dealing with the venue staff and the recommended vendors. It has so many beautiful qualities for your picture-perfect moments and will help you create a day you will never forget! The venue staff puts their heart and soul into making your day the best day ever. Aleshia, Faith, Taylor and all of the other staff members pay so much attention to detail, help make your day run smoothly, and any questions/concerns you have they make sure to cover them all. They help work with you to make your budget work, they are honest with their professional experience in weddings, and you can tell they are truly there to make sure you are as happy and comfortable as ever.
The venue itself is stunning, from its location to all of the beautiful rooms and decorations that they have to offer. The staff really helps your vision come to life on your big day and they make you feel like you're a part of their family. A dream come true
This Venue and the staff is just all around amazing. The venue is just beautiful and so spacious. The staff is so welcoming and professional. My Husband and I fell in love with this venue when we took our tour. It was the perfect mixture of history, rustic, and warmth. The venue coordinators were so responsive and super sweet during the planning process.
I loved the bridal suite and the boys loved having the library to hang out before getting ready. We heard nothing but amazing things from our guests the day of and days following our wedding day.

I may be biased but Venue 1902 and their team is the best venue in Orlando! They held our hand throughout the entire process! It started with their very personalized tour of the property. We had toured a few venues before and my fiance was not impressed by the standard conference rooms that many other venues had for the grooms room but he was immediately impressed by the grooms room and library that venue 1902 offered! We absolutely fell in love with the ceremony area outside and loved that in Florida's crazy weather, the indoor ceremony was a beautiful alternative if needed! The reception area was large and absolutely perfect for our wedding. Also for video/photos and hair/makeup, many of our vendors kept saying how amazing the bridal suite was for lighting which is evident in our photos! Also the TEAM!!! They made my day as stress free as a wedding day could possibly be! They went absolutely above and beyond and were integral in making our wedding day as absolutely smooth and seamless as possible! Words cannot describe how AMAZING this venue is. They gave us so many resources and advice throughout the planning process and had so many open houses that we were able to plan the wedding down to every detail. I cannot speak highly enough of this venue and their team. If I could click 11/10 stars I would. I can't imagine having our wedding anywhere else but Venue 1902! From the beginning the staff were so incredibly, kind, excited, and accommodating. We wanted a weekday brunch wedding and they were happy to make that happen! They were professional, helped answer our questions, and made us feel we were in safe hands. The venue itself is BEAUTIFUL with so much natural light, big get-ready rooms, unique personality, stunning chandeliers, and lots of options to personalize the day to your needs. We ended up having our wedding a day later than planned because of Hurricane Ian, and the staff worked MIRACLES to give us the wedding of our DREAMS. Because the weather that day was unbelievable, we ended up having our ceremony outside in the gorgeous garden area and it was perfect. The team was flexible and made that happen on the fly! There are also lots of outdoor spots that make for incredible photo ops. Our reception upstairs was light and airy and perfect for our group. We had a fun hexagon arch and cute pieces of furniture that made the space feel even more fun. And, they ring the school bell when you say "I do!" Everything about this venue is unique, charming, and delightful. From start to finish the team took care of everything we needed and went above and beyond in making us feel special. They take the headache out of all the little details and when the big day came I was able to just breathe, be present, and enjoy. What a gift! I can't thank them enough and recommend to ANYONE. We got married at Venue 1902 last year and it was a dream come true. I always wanted a fairytale wedding and my husband was always looking for something unique, so it was a match made in heaven.
The venue made it super easy with all inclusive pricing and a portal to make payments online. They have so many extra things you can add too. I was in love with the outdoor ceremony doors for my grand entrance and my husband loved the guys room so they could play poker and relax. This venue also had the most gorgeous bridal getting ready room of any venue we toured.
Your photographer doesn't even have to be that good to capture amazing photos here, because it's just so naturally stunning of a backdrop. So many of my guests raved about how beautiful the venue was. The staff also helped answer all my questions in a timely manner and were so helpful the day of.
The only issue we had on our wedding day was a few seats out of order from my chart, there were a few open wine bottles with no lid packed into the MOH's car, and a lot of the chargers were packed away without being wiped down so food was caked on there. I'm not sure if it was the venue, my coordinator, or the catering team that did it, so not taking any stars. All in all, a really great experience.Historic Venue 1902's reply:

Phenomenal staff and venue
I had my wedding at Venue 1902 almost 2 months ago and people are still telling my family and me how much fun they had and how perfect the venue was!! The staff was great about trying to make sure that my day was as stress-free as possible. Every step of the way the staff at Venue 1902 was there to help me create the day of my dreams. I would 100% recommend this venue and this staff to anyone getting married. I would definitely choose this venue again if I could!! This was the first venue we toured for our wedding and I knew immediately it would be the one we would choose. Besides being so aesthetically pleasing, they offered great packages and allowed you to really create your own vision for the day. The venue itself is so beyond beautiful and their accommodations added so much to the day. Their getting ready rooms are perfect, we did the add on "man cave" for the groomsmen and it was a huge hit. Their team was so wonderful to work with, from the first tour to the wedding day I knew I was in good hands and they made the day go by so flawlessly. During the planning process they provide a lot of great info, I highly recommend using their preferred vendor list... Most of my vendors were from the list and the ones that were not just were not up to par, so use their lists and suggestions, you will be thankful you did! Huge shout out to Adriana and Taylor for coordinating in the morning and getting everyone down the aisle - they were so amazing and took care of so much for me and my bridal party. They made it seem so effortless but I know they worked so hard to make sure my day was perfect. Rachel and Katie were also so great, making sure we had a great night partying and walking the building after the reception to make sure we had not left anything behind. I think the Venue 1902 team is what makes this venue extra special.
I big reason I wanted this venue was because being a Florida native I know how the weather is very unpredictable and I did not want to rely on a venue that only had outdoor facilities or did not have a good rain backup. The inside of the venue is still so amazing that I would have been okay if there was bad weather.... good news is we had perfect weather (highly recommend February weather in FL) so we could enjoy the quaint and charming garden. Another great perk is location, Stanford was a perfect little town to host friends and family. So many restaurants and bars - We had our rehearsal brunch at Tennessee Truffle and the welcome party and after party at Tuffy's... a lot of great places to make the whole wedding weekend special. Plenty of hotel options about 10 minutes away, but my family was able to find some great airbnb's in the area, my bridal party was able to take over Park Place Inn & Cottages which was so adorable and my girls loved it!

Venue 1902 is absolutely an amazing place to get married! They are detail orientated, organized, thoughtful, and an absolute joy to work with. Me and my husband couldn't have asked for a better team to work with for such an important day. Every detail, that I didn't think of they thought of for me. The day of coordinators were spectacular. They kept the whole day running on time and without missing a beat. As a bride the day can progress so quickly and stressfully, god knows the weeks leading up to my wedding were not easy especially because I planned my own wedding but I can say with such sincerity that on my wedding day I didn't have a worry, every time I thought I would someone was already on top of it. We had an absolute blast and we could not have been happier. The venue was one of the most affordable places to get married that we visited and definitely the most beautiful and classy. My husband also rented The Library that they have on site, with a pool table, poker table and flat screen and he said it was the best thing he could have done. He and his groomsmen had an amazing time, and were occupied all morning leading up to the wedding ceremony. My husband and I went through a lot with our venue hunting. From places that looked nothing like the pictures to some venues that just came off as stuck up and literally only sent automated messages - We were a little discouraged. All of that changed when we visited Venue 1902. We fell in love with the venue when we toured it, and everyone there was fantastic. We decided to book them and secure our date.
Everybody was very nice and professional, and they handled my indecisiveness like a champ!
The venue by itself is just gorgeous! The amenities and vintage market that they have, amazing. AND they provided Brunch!
The bride room was perfect for my girls and myself - It is HUGE and we were able to knock out hair and make up with all of the vanities that they had there. And the lighting in there is pristine!!!
My husband upgraded his grooms room to the Library - He loved it. The boys were able to play video games and pool - and the setting was perfect. His pictures turned out looking like he was modeling for GQ.
The Garden - I'm pretty sure they have some magic out there. It rained the day of and somehow, in June, it was perfectly shaded and just beautiful. Everybody did a good job at keeping our guests cool and helped out where they could with our requests.
The Reception Area - Wow. This was the breathtaking part. This room is beautiful. When we were venue hunting, we worked hard to find one that the reception area wasn't the typical one... (Ugly patterned carpet and a slick dance floor that everyone slips on) - Venue 1902 has BEAUTIFUL wooden floors all throughout, classy chandeliers, and a canvas that lets you just customize it to your own liking. Looking for Rustic? Perfect. Boho? Great! Romantic? Right here. Vintage? Look no further. DIY (Like me)? - This is your place.

If I could put 1,000 stars for this review, I would! From the second I walked in for my first tour of Venue 1902, I knew this was the place I was going to get married. It is absolutely gorgeous on the inside and out. Lisa and Taylor helped me along the way by answering a million questions and making sure everything was set for my wedding day. I'm not used to leaving things in other's hands so I was very anxious the morning of the wedding when it came to putting my vision to life. Taylor, my day-of-coordinator checked in on me multiple times throughout the morning assuring me that everything was running smooth and just as planned. I know that there are usually minor hick-ups at a wedding but I can seriously say mine was perfect. We had zero issues thanks to the amazing staff at Venue 1902. Venue 1902 is nothing short of a premier wedding venue! To say these ladies have it figured out would be an understatement! Planning our big day was so seamless with the guidance of everyone with the venue, from the initial tour , to the final walk through, to the day of, I never once worried that there would be any surprises. The venue provides you with a list of preferred vendors which lets be honest is a very helpful tool when you have a million things to book, look at and taste! The morning of our wedding we had Taylor as our coordinator, she was so sweet and helpful the day of the wedding I'm pretty sure I called her a god sent angel a few times.
The venue is the picture perfect place to get married. Both inside and outside the property there are so many beautiful places to get your perfect pictures. We had our wedding in the garden, cocktail hour downstairs and reception upstairs and honestly it was perfect. The fact that rain or shine Venue 1902 has a plan is also so reassuring! Another plus, I didn't use much of our budget on decorations because the venue truly shines on its own.

We do not have enough wonderful things to say about this venue! The women who have created this business have done so with such grace, love, respect, kindness, generosity and excellence! From the moment we walked through the doors of this beautiful venue, we fell in love with its atmosphere and beauty! We are allowed to take a few tours with family and friends before the wedding and each time we felt us becoming friends with Aleshia and staff. Everyone there treated us like family, like royalty, like we were/are the most important people, every.. single.. time! The day of the wedding was even more spectacular than we could have imagined!! Several staff members came in to check on us to make sure our day was going perfectly! They moved furniture around to make our LGBT wedding exactly how we envisioned it and we couldn't be more thankful for that! From the first day we visited the Venue 1902 we were in love with the idea of saying "I do" at this beautifully historic building. The staff was kind, informative and incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. Their inclusion of a day of coordinator was a huge addition for our day. As a bride and groom on a budget we were not going to be able to hire a day of coordinator, decorators, or anything much more then what was required; The staff helped with ideas for a wedding at Venue 1902 within our budget.
Taylor (our venue 1902 day of coordinator) made sure everything went smoothy, that everyone knew where to be and when to be there.

We fell in love with the beauty of Venue 1902 in early 2019 when planning for our wedding in February 2021. The venue and surrounding location were the perfect location for our special day. We liked downtown Sanford with its bars and restaurants, and is close to where we grew up and our friends/families. We loved that it was a vintage school house, with on-site getting ready facilities, plenty of space for a large wedding, and indoor/outdoor optionality. We knew it was the perfect venue and location to host our wedding weekend. From the beginning, the staff was flexible, helpful and supportive as most of our wedding planning was done remotely from San Francisco, CA. Then, the COVID pandemic happened, throwing our plans into uncertainty. Under these difficult and ever-changing circumstances, the venue staff completely met our high level of service expectation. They stepped up big to help create OUR perfect day. Coming from CA and SF, where COVID life is much different, they listened to our concerns and were supportive at every step. They never dismissed what I am sure at times felt like crazy ideas and overly conservative precautions. The open houses were extremely helpful in our long distance planning process as my mother was able to visit the venue to help us visualize our plan over FaceTime or with videos. Aleshia and the Venue 1902 staff welcomed her as if she were the bride! We also found the decor room on this virtual family open house to be useful. We were able to see the farm tables, some of the lounge decor, and table runners. They even set up a runner on the farm table to help us see what the color would look like. Venue 1902 was flexible in a variety of ways, which were crucial in executing a perfect day. First, they allowed us to move our date up allowing us to celebrate with our close family and friends over the Thanksgiving break, which meant we could see our families for one of the 2020 holidays. Next, in order to accommodate what we felt was most safe, they worked with us to have our entire wedding including ceremony and luncheon reception outdoors before sundown. This meant cocktail hour with a lounge and bar area on the front lawn. There were many ways in which the execution of our day was outside of the norm, but were handled with professionalism and attention to detail. Overall, we had the perfect 2020 wedding day for us. The Venue 1902 staff were incredible in helping us execute our vision including decor, safety protocols, and order of events. Their vendor recommendations were thoroughly vetted, even for less-common services like wedding streaming, and we were impressed with the quality of each of the vendors. There were several times that we went referenced their vendor list or called for a recommendation. Aleshia is an amazing human and will give her all to make sure she understands what you both as a couple want for your day and then do everything she can to make it happen. We cannot thank Aleshia, Taylor, Carly and the rest of the Venue 1902 staff enough. Beyond the beautiful building and backdrop, the people of Venue 1902 made our special day exceptionally memorable.

We knew before we even set foot inside the building that we wanted to get married at Venue 1902. This place is just so beautiful! We chose very minimal decorations because we just didn't feel like we needed it. The building is just gorgeous on its own. And I can't say enough good things about the staff! We had to push our wedding date back 3 months due to COVID and they were so accommodating. And they were wonderful about answering my many questions leading up to our wedding. We didn't have to worry about anything on the day of the wedding because they were so on top of things. We took our time getting ready and enjoyed being in this beautiful place with our family and friends. Venue 1902 could not have been more perfect for our wedding. Rich with history and character, my husband and I were immediately drawn to this building. The entire location is timeless and completely customizable. With Florida weather, it was also such a relief that their indoor rain plan is just as beautiful as the outdoor garden.
Choosing from their Vendor list for our caterer reassured us knowing that the vendors were already familiar with the location and worked well with the staff.
Speaking of which, the staff immediately welcomes you into their family, makes you feel comfortable, and is there for you through the whole process. Having a Day of Coordinator was a life saver and alleviated any stress on our wedding day. Whether it was a missing cake or last minute decor, they made sure to take care of everything.
Every time I think back to my wedding day, I can honestly say that it was the perfect day and Venue 1902 had so much to do with that. Affordable, friendly, professional, honest, beautiful. We were so over-the-moon thrilled to find Venue 1902! There is truly no place quite like this one-of-a-kind gem, both in its charm and in all that the incredibly kind team has to offer couples. Our wedding day there was wonderful, joyful and completely seamless for us, our family, our guests and all of our vendors. Just as importantly, our entire experience from our initial emails and visit through follow-up, post-wedding was so positive thanks to the outstanding team. All in all, Venue 1902 simply shines, and our special day wouldn’t have been possible had we not booked here!
We knew within minutes of meeting Aleshia and starting our tour that there was something super special about this place. And it was much more than the stunning historic building that both my husband and I separately fell in love with while researching venues. It was more than the relief that every room was so thoughtfully composed (a full room with tons of space for the groomsmen to get ready!? Most other venues we visited put the guys in literal closets!), that this one location could easily and conveniently host every part of the day, AND that every area had so much character and charm about it that it gave us fantastic direction in decor. What really wowed us was our conversation with Aleshia. After visiting three other venues prior to Venue 1902, she was the first and only person we met with who asked us about OUR STORY, not just our guest count, budget, desired date, etc. We instantly felt so seen and known and cared for; Aleshia and the rest of the team were truly invested in our engagement, marriage and love story, and that reflected in everything that was done to help us plan for our wedding day.
Even as we danced around dates before booking, Aleshia was so patient, present, encouraging and helpful. She answered question after question for us as we conferred with our family until we booked our date! And once we booked at Venue 1902, the greatest weight was lifted, and everything else truly came together. Choosing from the list of suggested vendors, and with the awesome advice of Aleshia and team, we found the rest of our vendors with ease. And I’m not exaggerating one bit when I say that literally every vendor we met with and mentioned our venue would absolutely rave about Venue 1902 and the team there as some of their favorite partners. The Venue 1902 team has a well-earned outstanding reputation, and they always made us feel like a priority, always responded to our messages and went above and beyond to help us along the way!
We truly had fun planning thanks to the Venue 1902 team. The monthly open houses were a blessing to be able to visit and scope out the spaces, get to know the whole team and introduce a few of our dear friends to the space, too. By the time of our final consultation a few weeks out from our wedding, it felt like we were going to see and catch up with friends of ours on the team!
For full disclosure, I was a really scatterbrained bride-to-be through the planning and had ideas all over the place. I was also really, really nervous about the logistics and timing of the day. And the Venue 1902 team was so gracious and generous and supportive through all of that, working fantastically with us and our other vendors and personal coordinator to help everything come together. I also tended to find that a lot of traditional bridal theming and decor weren’t my style, but Venue 1902 is also such a standout in this category, too. Their bridal suite is beautiful and feminine, but also clean and super classic in style, so I never felt out of place the way I sometimes did while touring other venues or dress shops. I truly believe that any and every couple would feel super comfortable and confident in the space, and considering how many of our guests were newlyweds or engaged, we heard over and over again that they loved the look and atmosphere of Venue 1902 as much as we did! We also heard from our photographers/videographers and friends in the wedding/events industries that this is one of the most stunning venues with amazing variety of settings to capture the day—simple white walls, beautiful brick, tons of greenery and nature, the outdoor lighting—it's an artist's dream to shoot here, and our memories and photos so benefit from that!
When it came to our wedding day, we were able to really enjoy every moment of it and not worry about deliveries or decor or timelines. Our day-of coordinator was Venue 1902’s Katie, who is so kind and a total rockstar! She worked brilliantly with a personal friend of ours, who focused on some of our DIY pieces and personal touches, while Katie and the Venue 1902 team had everything from catering to furniture rentals to DJ set-up and more covered. Katie and the rest of the Venue 1902 team were all cool as cucumbers and so encouraging to us the entire day. This allowed us to be so present in the day, and we’re so lucky to have the best memories of the most wonderful, lovely day. It was honestly so much better than I’d ever imagined it could be, and Venue 1902 was such an essential part of that.
When my husband and I were just about to make our sparkler exit (which Venue 1902’s team also made so safe and easy and special), we had a moment to walk back through the venue one last time together (we did a last dance with just the two of us and rang the bell in the principal’s office as our guests assembled for the send off—which I can’t recommend enough!). And we so clearly remembered and commented on all of the things that we had seen in the space many months before and fallen in love with right away, from the vintage pieces in the lobby to the sweet classroom. This beautiful building, full of its own history and stories already, was now part of our story. Venue 1902 is one of the most memorable parts of our wedding day for the gorgeous backdrop it provided to every part of the day, the comfort of having the whole day in one convenient place, the character of a historic, classic and charming school, the bright and beautiful canvas it was for all of our photos, and, of course, the fantastic team who created magic for us.

Venue 1902 was the most perfect venue for our big day. We toured several venues and none of them could customize our wedding quite like Venue 1902. Lisa and her team are extremely organized and hard working. They constantly went above and beyond to fulfill our needs and make sure we were happy. Even during a worldwide pandemic, the team helped us reschedule and reconfigure the entire wedding a month later. The wedding was absolutely PERFECT.
At this point in a review, you typically begin to list cons and pitfalls of the venue. However, I can tell you from personal experience that Venue 1902 has absolutely no cons. If you are considering booking Venue 1902 for your wedding, do not think twice. They will make sure your wedding is everything you have dreamed of and more. This is a beautiful, wonderful place to get married.
My husband and I were over the moon when we discovered Venue 1902 when planning our wedding. We said before going in "ok, this is the first place, we can't book today, we're just looking." On the walk out to the car, we'd already decided we'd call back and book as soon as we got home.
The team was amazing. Aleshia was incredible, and we had so much fun on our tour. She also pointed us to specific vendors that she trusted based on our specific ideas and preferences, which was an enormous help.
Lisa was also wonderful, and super prompt every time I reached out with a question!
Unfortunately, due to COVID, we needed to cancel. The team was still great then, too. They gave us a number of options that they certainly were not obligated to do, and wished us the absolute best moving forward.

Such an amazing venue!
Venue 1902 exceeded all of our expectations. It was the first and only venue we toured because the second we stepped through the front doors and met the team we knew! This venue is gorgeous, every time I stepped into the venue my breath was taken away. It is a one stop shop which is what I was looking for. You can have the ceremony and reception in the same venue. The staff at the venue are incredible. They are great with communication and organization. Please visit this venue before you make a final decision on your venue. Working with Venue 1902 was a dream! Everything about the venue was so great.
1. The building it self is a quaint and sweet building to get married in. We had an outdoor wedding, and the venue recently laid down turf. This looked amazing for our photographs and even if the ground was slightly wet, it didn't bother our guests. At the end of the ceremony, the venue rings the school bell! It's such a romantic and sweet touch.
2. I worked with Shannon the day of the wedding. She was so helpful. We had to decide whether to move the wedding indoors because of light showers throughout the day, and Shannon's professional and calm demeanor helped me so much. She offered great advice, and helped me remain calm as well. We ended up doing the ceremony outside, and things ended up working out with the sun shining! I love Shannon! What a gem!
3. Everyone I communicated with was so helpful. They were organized, timely and made the whole process so easy for me. All my 1,000,000 questions and requests were answered.
I love Venue 1902, for not just making our wedding day spectacular, but for just being a wonderfully honest and helpful team. Despite the stresses wedding planning can bring, Venue 1902 made my entire experience a joyful and easy experience. I'm so thankful.Historic Venue 1902's reply:

I got married in October at Venue 1902 and I had been planning my wedding for awhile so it was great to see it all come to a reality. The day before the wedding we got noticed that it was going to be rain all day and the venue 1902 team was so on top of it that they had the ceremony set up inside by the time I arrived at 10 AM. The day ended up clearing up but we still had our ceremony inside and it worked out great. It was a pleasure to work with Lisa and her team. The only thing I wish we had was some extra hands in the morning to help unload things that were arriving. My bridesmaids and I spent about an hour in the rain unloading decor and stuff from my car and when we arrived there was only 2 girls in the building. We were not able to bring anything the day before because of an event happening before hand. So if your a DIY bride just know you will have to get people to help you bring all the stuff the day of. Other than that, it was perfect. The place is beautiful and you don't have to do much with decor because it already has so much character!Historic Venue 1902's reply:

I couldn’t recommend a venue more. The staff was so helpful and definitely know how to do an amazing wedding. You can tell they love what they do, they love their clients and work hard to make it the best experience. The venue itself is so gorgeous and unique my husband and I fell in love with it as soon as we saw it. It’s bright and open and was the perfect backdrop for our fall wedding. Wedding ceremony and reception
My daughter had her wedding ceremony and reception at Venue 1902. While we we reviewing venues and working on a selection, We visited the beautiful Venue 1902. The minute we stepped in the door of Venue 1902 we knew it was the one, my daughter and I both looked at each other a literally gasp. From the stunning but simplistic decor to the historic charm of the building its absolutely amazing. Whatever your theme or dream idea for your wedding is this venue can accommodate. Gorgeous chandeliers and original hard wood floors, chalkboards, and even a school bell to ring in your celebration. I also must mention the grooms room and bridal sweet, so so comfortable and decorated to suite. The venue staff are amazing. From the day we signed the contract to the end of the wedding night they worked closely with us to ensure everything was perfect. Our plan was for the ceremony in the garden but we had rain so we moved to the social hall. The last minute change was handled with ease. If you are looking for a lovely venue, amazing staff in a very quaint town you should definitely visit this venue.Historic Venue 1902's reply:

I can’t say enough good things about Venue 1902.
The Venue and team are incredible! The venue was gorgeous and their day-of coordinators made sure everything was set up perfectly. It was such a blessing to not have to worry about a thing. They helped us plan and communicate with our vendors, helping us every step of the way.
Our brunch wedding was absolutely perfect.
The garden is gorgeous and there are tons of places for photos. We even used some of their vintage furniture and they helped us create a gorgeous photo/conversation area!

Venue 1902 is a gorgeous venue! We loved the facility because we could get ready, have our ceremony, and reception all in one place. The staff were wonderful! Our day of event coordinator, Shannon, took such good care of us during our wedding day! I was so calm and non-stressed in the least because she took care of anything thing that came up during the evening. Venue 1902 gave us a perfect wedding experience and we recommend it to anyone. Venue 1902 was extremely responsive to all of our needs and very polite. They made the wedding day very straightforward and simple; wedding logistics were not a problem whatsoever. Their staff are very friendly and were able to anticipate any possible problems for us. The venue itself is gorgeous and is very picturesque. We ourselves are ballroom dancers and very much wanted to have a big dance floor; they have the best possible dance floor we could find for a wedding in the Orlando area. My fiance and I were looking around for venues near the church we are having our ceremony at. When we saw Venue 1902, we immediately knew we wanted our reception here. Their outdoor area (where ceremonies are normally held) is absolutely beautiful. This venue is an old school (built in 1902), and they have kept on of the rooms an original classroom. This will make for amazing pictures! Lisa, the owner, was so nice! You can tell she actually cares about the client, and is not just there to get clients in and out for the money. My fiance and I wanted to show our parents the venue after our first meeting, and she was nice enough to let us schedule another appointment to wander around and show our parents. We had fallen in love with this venue from the moment we walked in! My now husband and I had met in high school 13 years ago, so what better place to get married then the place we met at, school. We love the historical classroom, the beautiful hardwood floors with chandeliers. The bridal suite and grooms room were perfect! We love that you have the entire place all day, and they have a ton of decor for you to use. They provided us a catered lunch the day of our wedding, which was great. The entire staff is so extremely helpful and amazing. Alyshia gave me my first tour, and I went back with my fiance and got the best tour from the owner, Lisa's husband, who was super sweet and really got my fiance to see the vision. Kim and the other women were so helpful through the process, which we really needed because we planned our wedding in 6 months. The day of our wedding, the two Coordinators were so amazing and went above and beyond to make sure everything went perfectly! They were on top of everything, and we honestly did not have any problems throughout the entire day! We strongly suggest you tour this venue and see how amazing it is!Historic Venue 1902's reply:

We fell in love with the location as soon as we pulled up. The venue has so much history and character you just cant get anywhere else. Even the bell was restored, which they let us ring. Super cool! We loved Aleshia's energy. She's honest, quirky, and down to earth, making our tour and booking process easy and comfortable. Loved that what you see is what you get. Booked Venue 1902 for my February 2019 wedding. The process for booking was seamless and all electronic. Lisa was so nice and scheduled a tour for us promptly when it was convenient for us. She was very kind and excited to discuss our ideas and wedding details. It was not hard to envision our wedding there and we knew right away it was the place we wanted. There is also sentimental value for me as I used to go on school field trips there as a kid. I love that the school room is being kept as it was and how they’ve renovated the building in such a tasteful way. This venue seriously met every expectation for my wedding day. My husband and I could not have possibly found a better place or staff to host our big day. They made everything seem so stress free for me and my family and did basically everything for us! The brunch provided the day of was delicious, my guests were well cared for as were my vendors, the decor I brought was done better than I had even imagined based on the vision I provided as well as with the decor the venue itself provided. The venue is gorgeous even by itself but seeing it all dressed up with everything was a dream come true. All my things were well looked after during setup and breakdown and the breakdown was insanely fast and efficient. These people KNOW what they’re doing. We were all so impressed. We had our wedding at Venue 1902 on January 5th, 2019. The process from start to finish was absolutely seamless. We had originally booked a different venue that was then shut down so we were stressed finding another place. That whole situation was such a blessing in disguise because it led us to Venue 1902. As soon as we took a tour, we knew it was the place for us. It is breathtakingly beautiful and steeped in history. Every corner has something interesting to look at. The team there is amazing. They answered every question and email (and there were a LOT of them!) super quickly and made the planning easy! The coordinators on site the day of were amazing as well. I cannot speak highly enough about the venue, the staff, and everyone else involved there who made our day absolutely incredible. Ben A. Sent on 02/10/2018When it came to finding a venue, we felt a bit limited with the market when we were looking around the Central Florida area. Too old, too new, too flashy, not relaxed enough... until we stumbled upon Venue 1902. We found their Wedding Wire listing when there was no photo. Just a short blurb about how it was a historic schoolhouse in downtown Sanford that was being restored by an experienced local. Taking a leap of faith, we scheduled a walkthrough and met with the owner.
We'll admit-- it was a bit scary taking a leap of faith on such a huge part of our day. We even secured a backup venue should the renovations stray from their original schedule or the end result be anything but what we were promised.
HOWEVER, Lisa and Brady knocked it out of the park with their restoration of this beautiful building. We enjoyed the no-nonsense 10am-10pm rental of the building, along with the suggested vendors and flexibility we had to change things at the last minute (especially adding on a weather back up plan in February, when we were almost certain we wouldn't need it).
Our favorite part of the venue is the amount of natural light that's available, making it perfect for getting ready. Your photographers will LOVE YOU if you choose Venue 1902. The atmosphere is beautiful and our only regret is not being able to use the gorgeous outdoor areas on our wedding day because of the rain. The brick and greenery were some of our favorite parts while touring.Historic Venue 1902's reply:

Lisa and Brady were extremely helpful, and Katie was THE BEST coordinator a couple could ask for. The team at Preservation Hall answered all of our questions, created a space that I never could've done myself, and made our vision come to life. I am beyond grateful for all of them, and had the best day ever. I HIGHLY recommend this place!

Exceptional historical and beautiful venue
When my daughter first visited this venue we were taken in with its beauty ,charm and historical look. Ericka and David said yes to the venue . About a year later on November 14, 2019 we they had a beautiful event. We were blown away by the overall experience.the venue was exactly what Ericka and David was looking for in terms of atmosphere, scenery and overall experience. We had sole use of the venue for the day. The staff was nothing but helpful during the course of the day.
The staff was wonderful and caring helpful, and understanding. They were with us every stop of the way. The venue provided a dressing room for the bride and groom .my daughter and her bridesmaids was very happy and groom was very satisfied with their rooms . We held the ceremony outside and proceeded with cocktail hour inside and followed by a beautiful reception upstairs . We had full use of all the rooms in the venues and our guest was overwhelmed by the look of the venue.
The venue played a huge success of Ericka and David’s day . Our guest who are still talking about Venue 1902 is a testament to that .

The owners gave us a tour and they were so kind and excited which made us feel comfortable and invited to this space. The venue speaks for itself when you take the tour. Having access to the entire building, you have so many ideas you can make come to life and during our final consultation, the team really helped us make the best choices for what we wanted. And I must say, walking up the stairs for your introduction after the ceremony is an incredible feeling!
I felt so bad not giving 5 stars on professionalism and quality of service but we had a few hiccups that I wanted to address:
- The venue coordinator for our wedding day was not the same individual that did our walkthrough/rehearsal, which resulted in a lot of missteps on our special day.
- We edited our ceremony set-up during rehearsals with the planner, which she wrote down. But the next day the new coordinator was working off the old set-up, so we had to go out and edit ourselves while we got ready.
- We made all or our own flower arrangements, and on our wedding day one bouquet started to wilt. As some bridesmaids went to pick flowers from the excess buckets we brought, our new coordinator stopped them and told us that we should have made the bouquets ahead of time. Made for an awkward moment.
- Our new coordinator did not keep us on schedule all night long. I kept finding out what time it was from guests and we were almost 30 to 45 mins late from our time line. Which we went over extensively with our planner.
We believe it would be helpful to have the day of coordinator be a part of the walk through/rehearsal with the planner to help eliminate some of mishaps.
I know that sounds like a lot of complaining (I wanted to be honest so the venue can continue to perfect and grow) but its very small in comparison to how amazing our wedding day was. When I think back on it, it’s only good memories and this venue made it a dream come true. I would highly recommend this venue!
