  incredible professionalism

  The Shanice and Marina at the Velvet Room were so amazing and professional. We had a few hiccups with scheduling along the way, and I was impressed by how they both stepped up to make my wedding day come together. Shanice was able to personally do my hair and makeup after a few scheduling conflicts. Hiccups happen in business; I don't expect things to be perfect. I admired how they handled it as business owners. My hair and makeup looked great, and I was so happy with how everything turned out. It was just how I wanted it!

  Rikki did a great job!

  Rikki was very professional. You could tell that she knew what she was doing! She did my hair and makeup for my son’s wedding. I got so many compliments on both. My makeup stayed on the entire day without any touch-ups needed. I would recommend her in a heartbeat!

  queer wedding must have

  Super nice and great at communicating, extremely accommodating, great service, clear contract with no unexpected fees!! Provided an experienced and competent stylist that did a great job with my partner’s skin as a South Asian person, who was nervous to have their makeup done by just anyone. Also provided expertise and support for a bad haircut prior to the wedding with a good recommendation for extensions and also support for if we wanted a cut ahead of time to make up for someone else’s work. Couldn’t recommend them enough. Plus, women/POC owned and local. Just what we were looking for!

  Best Decision!

  Booking Velvet Room for my wedding day was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my wedding! They were super responsive, met my every need and want, so kind, and made my hair look stunning! There is also an option to rent out the salon for your big day and that was a HUGE lifesaver, when trying to figure out where on earth to get ready with all of my girls! They also have a gorgeous geode inspired wall which was great for getting ready pics. I would and have recommended them a million times over!

  Very Awesome

  Hair artist, Sheanna with Velvet room was amazing. She traveled a few miles to meet up with my makeup artist and was so kind. I didn't have the exact idea of what specific hairstyle I wanted but Sheanna was able to vision with me the perfect hairstyle. 10/10 experience and would reccomend. Thank you!

  Perfect from start to finish

  The hair and makeup was amazing. I didn't even do a trail and everything was perfect. I had to communicate more than most people and she always responded to me within hours. Added my mom last minute and everything was accommodated nicely. Highly recommend

  Exceptional service and creative artist

  Marina surpassed my expectations and made me feel stunning! She did my hair for our rehearsal dinner, our wedding day and all the women in my bridal party. Simply outstanding. She is incredible with her art form and had me reeling for days over mine and my bridal party’s hair. Thank you so much, Marina!

  I was about about 4 months out from my wedding when I contacted Marina and was nervous I wouldn’t find any available artists! She responded so quickly and thankfully found artists available! She answered a million of my emails as I was planning from a different state. She was extremely helpful and the price was reasonable for traveling. The artists were punctual, professional, and did an amazing job! My bridal party and my mom felt so beautiful for my Big Day!

  Amazing Customer Service; Above & Beyond

  I was looking for someone to input hair extensions for my wedding after several failed attempts I finally found Marina! She not only helped me choose the right extensions for my hair type, dyed my hair to match it perfectly, walked me through everything with suggestions but ultimately, she transformed me in to a beautiful bride! Days before the wedding I needed some touching up and Marina went out of her way to drive to my home in Illinois to do my hair. I recommended her 100%!

  Wedding Style

  Marina was very organized and super easy to work with.
  She kept in touch with us and answered any questions. Marina brought all her tools in a wheeled cart. The 25 year old maid of honor wanted a side Mermaid braid. Marina did a beautiful braid and it lasted through a long day of photos, ceremony and dinner.
  For the mother of the bride Marina did some soft curls for medium length hair and attached a small fascinator on the side. It looked great and also lasted all day.
  We would highly recommend Marina.

  Simply Amazing

  Marina was wonderful!!! Me made my look and feel beautiful! I had just originally hired her to just do my make up but we found out last minute at the hairstylist that we had hired had not put me on her schedule and I called Marina and without hesitation said she could do my hair also and came over earlier than what we had planned. She was simply amazing!

  Beatiful outcome by Gaby and an affordable option for any bride!

  I had a great experience with the Velvet Room, Gaby being my hair and make-up artist! I was struggling to find someone willing to do my hair and make-up as a single bride with no bridal party and the Velvet Room was happy to help (and were very affordable)! They were also flexible in scheduling my trial earlier than usual (as an out-of-town bride). We were a bit over on time the day of, but as anyone knows, the day is so busy with people coming and going out of the bridal suite. I was so happy with how my hair and make-up looked and all thanks to Gaby! She's wonderful and so professional!
