I seriously cannot say enough good things about them! Setting up times for a trial was a breeze, and they were so quick to respond. Carlos was our hairstylist and Sara was our makeup artist and they were both phenomenal, not only during the trial (which happened in August on the hottest and most humid day of the year and the hair and makeup still held up!), but also on my wedding day. Carlos and Sara made everyone look and feel so beautiful, the entire bridal party received compliments all day. They were absolutely perfect and brought such a calming and fun vibe to getting ready which eased all the pre-wedding nerves. 10/10 would recommend!! Will book again for any future events!

I reached out to Marina and from the beginning she was very responsive, answered all of my questions, was super kind and professional. I really wanted to embrace my natural curls and during my trial with Rubi I felt very heard and decided to book them for myself, mom, and bridesmaids (6). Rubi helped my idea come to life with styling my curls naturally and adding just a little something special with pearl pins. My makeup was exactly how I envisioned and she really listened to me while also making helpful suggestions. Carlos was so great with my junior bridesmaid who is only 9 and she had so much fun! They both added to a very comfortable and fun environment where everyone looked so beautiful! Everyone was easy to communicate with and was very professional. We all just had a great time getting ready and everyone looked amazing all night long!

We chose Velvet Room to do hair and makeup for our wedding in fall 2024. We were looking for a team who could do hair and makeup on a variety of skin tones and hair textures, and Marina's team delivered. Marina was very helpful throughout the planning process. Our stylist, Rachel, did a fantastic job capturing the vision I had for the bridal hair and makeup. She also made my bridesmaids look absolutely beautiful.

They were well staffed and accommodating to our needs. We had a diverse wedding with different skin and hair types. We needed something to last the whole day, and we didn’t have that much time in the morning because we were having two weddings on the same day. Wow! I do not have enough good things to say about the women behind the Velvet Room! As someone who knows nothing about hair and makeup I needed a lot of guidance. Marina and Shanice are kind, patient, flexible, and FUN. They had their hands full with hair and makeup for 8 girls - everyone was so happy with their results AND we were done ahead of schedule. Centrally located in South City, their studio was the perfect place for us to get ready. The studio is tastefully decorated making for plenty of great photo opportunities. Hire them. You won't regret it.

Both Shanice and Marina were amazing for my wedding! They got me and all of my bridesmaids done with time to spare, and had a blast with us along the way. This made the whole experience fun and stress-free. They both did wonderful jobs for each girl capturing the looks they wanted, and both hair and makeup lasted all day. Rikki was very professional. You could tell that she knew what she was doing! She did my hair and makeup for my son’s wedding. I got so many compliments on both. My makeup stayed on the entire day without any touch-ups needed. I would recommend her in a heartbeat!
